Wasn't sure at first as it's a bit more traditional than some of the other pubs along the main road but quite honestly was a lovely place. Very friendly folks behind the well stocked bar, great tasty food that was nicely presented, generously served and decently priced. Can't go wrong. Oh and it's definately dog and walker friendly.

Brilliant tasty food would recommend to anyone eating out in hawes! Lovely steak pie last night & the best fish & chips I've tasted tonight!

Lovely food, very reasonably priced menu. Lots of space in the rear room for a larger group. Very friendly staff.

Just come back from hawes go every year usually stay in a cottage near the centre but stayed at fountain before also. 4 of us booked last Oct 2017 for bed and breakfast. Was told No single rooms so booked the double rooms. My mum and aunty in one me and my friend in the other. Firstly we was split up me and my friend placed on another floor in a tiny room. Asked to move to be near my mum this was accommodated but again in tiny room with a big vent pipe outside window very noisy and seemed to be blowing warm air in. Due to the hot weather and rooms being very hot I asked if there was a fan. Told there was not. My mum was in room 5 very big room. We was in room 3 tiny. Very big difference on room sizes for 90 pounds a night. The breakfast very good and the man serving breakfast was very efficient. Went to the cheese factory bought cheese asked to place in there fridge no problem Angus the owner accommodated this. Upon checking out I approached the landlady Mandy and advices I had cheese in the fridge her reply was SO I then asked if we could have it. She had a really bad attitude and very Rude. I have feedback regarding the rooms and it would have been good to have fans in. Not interested. Think this landlady needs a reality check and to adopt some Manners. I love hawes and go every year the locals are great people. But the fountain owners need to have more respect for it's customers.

Reasonably priced pub grub, good fast service with a smile. Perfect if you don't like your pubs to have gone all hipster at silly prices.

Basic accommodation, great food but very slow internet. Very recommend.

Stopped by for a few drinks on a Friday afternoon, it was very quiet with only a few people having lunch. It is more of a restaurant as there are no games eg. Darts, pool or fruit machines. It was a pleasant and relaxing place, friendly staff too. Drinks were expensive but can't comment on the food as I didn't see the menu. I would visit again.

Clean room, lovely breakfast. Shower rather under powered.

Decent selection of beer and reasonable pub food. Dining area is to the rear of the pub through the bar and is a large pleasant room with very thick carpets!

A good pub with character, the pub for sports TV when staying in or near Hawes. Nice beers.

Stopped for a quick drink and bite of lunch. Everything was clean, service was quick and the food was average.

Great stay. Very clean and even better for us they love dogs. Our German Shepherd was welcomed with open arms and allowed anywhere on the premises made to feel so welcome even gave her doggy treats, the food and drink were wonderful with very fair prices. Could not recommend highly enough.

Room are very clean and comfortable. Staff are very friendly. The food was very good had a very nice steak. Nice welcome in morning when we all turned up for breakfast. Oyes very nice and cooked to order. 5 stars from the Gary Helen and Harry Hughes. Thank you for a good stay.

Pub with a huge dining / function room at the back. Standard pub food. Selection of cask ales. Dog friendly.

Ok, but other local pubs have more of an atmosphere.

Great! It has a pool table, darts table and Wi-Fi, perfect for after a walk in the Dales!

Great bed and breakfast but it can be difficult to get a room during peak times.

We absolutely love this pub, its our dogs on the restaurant section picture. We have always been made incredibly welcome our dogs have loved it in front of the the fire and as a bonus well kept beer and superb food. Looking forward to our next visit mid September. Si, Jo, Roux and new addition Rio.

Really enjoyed our short stay. Very friendly atmosphere. Good food. Nice clean rooms. Made to feel really welcome. Will definately make return visit. Highly recommended. Oh. And we think Ernie our dog enjoyed it as well.

Good food loverly land lady done a quiz nite there as welland best off all I could take my dog in all the pubs in hawes very friendly village.

Busy pub so must book. Dog friendly but all the tables are a bit jammed in so the dog on the floor just gets in the way, you do sit very close to the next table. Food is good and price fair. It may be cramped but still the best for food in the village in our opinion.

Nice couple of nights stay Very central location Friendly staff Only downside was room temperature, heating had to be left on and made for a disturbed sleep as it was air conditioning based with noisey fan.

We enjoyed the dinner in the pub.

This hotel and pub is the perfect location if you're looking for somewhere to stay in North Yorkshire. Their staff are friendly, and customer focused. The pub has a great atmosphere and the play Sky & BT sports games in the pub as well as having great ales. Delicious menu also! Would highly recommend.
