Had a great night here for my husbands birthday and platinum jubilee. Staff were excellent especially Caroline who helped with a birthday surprise. I am coeliac and food was gorgeous will definitely be back… Thanks.

I worked here and the manager and all the staff were lovely food was to die for and there all worked very hard.

Simonstone Hall… WOW. We attended a wedding here and it was amazing. The staff were really friendly and helpful. They couldn't do more for you. Everyone made you feel really welcome. The day went smoothly. The rooms, food and service are to top standards and the food is amazing with wonderful views. We would definitely return in the future.

Rude staff upon people requesting for vegan options politely. Very archaic 1980’s view towards people’s diversity and being inclusive of them.

Lovely old building and beautifully decorated for the festive season. Great outdoor space with lovely views when weather dry! Food was fantastic!

My sister just spent 2 nights dreadful room and service over charged awaiting a refund shower in the room not working work been carried out and contact banging no consideration about guest and no reduction in the price food was stunning but would not go again I was really disappointed as I suggested this hotel to so many and it’s not cheap.

Fabulous hotel with great friendly, efficient staff. Food is lovely, beautifully presented. Set in the most beautiful surroundings it is one of our favourite places.

Popped in for lunch today on the sun terrace beautiful views fantastic food great service and all at a very reasonable price will be back.

We called in doing the Hawes to Hardraw Force walk, glad we did lovely place for an outside terrace drink with an unbelievable view! Friendly helpful staff and it was cheaper that the Green Dragon at Hardraw!

We booked lunch for our daughter’s special birthday, it was lovely. Attentive staff and very nice food.

We were only walkers that fancied a Sunday lunch today but we felt really welcomed by? Dan behind the bar… this place has a really chilled vibe about it, welcoming & friendly staff, couldn’t fault it… we will be looking to stay over & sample the evening menu soon, thank you to all xx.

Anyone staying at Simonstone Hall is in for a treat. Our bedroom was faultless — extremely comfortable four poster bed and luxury en suite bathroom. The restaurant served both a beautiful evening meal and breakfast.

We stayed overnight on Friday 17th. We loved our visit from the moment we arrived. The room was lovely and the staff were excellent and so friendly and helpful. The food both in the evening and at breakfast time was fantastic quality. The local area offers lovely walks to the waterfalls and the views are amazing. We loved everything about our visit and will recommend you to our family and friends. We hope to be back soon. Thank you. Diane and Kevin Grange.

Never again — Room overlooking the courtyard full of dog excrement Seems like the owners are cutting corners since we stayed last. Arrived at the bar & was given a glass out of a £5.25 bottle of Lidl Prosecco. Challenged the bar tender and he agreed it was flat & cheap. How can a 4 * establishment think they can possibly get away with that? The bed has two uncomfortable mattresses shoved together with a broken raised zip in the middle, no bin in the bathroom, paint missing from the walls, TV aerial wasn't even plugged in. Opened the curtains to look at the view and the only view we had was a courtyard absolutely covered in dog poo. Upon checkout we were told we should have looked at the sky instead & not the ground. The evening meal was lovely its just such a shame that the room/outside area and bar standards didn't live up to scratch although Jack was very friendly behind the bar.

Always a nice place for a drink out the back. The views are amazing. Staff always friendly and welcoming.

So helpful yesterday — we’d booked into another hotel that was truly awful and we managed to book into Simonstone Hall last minute as an alternative. They couldn’t have been more helpful and the room was truly beautiful. We were able to eat in the restaurant too — lovely meal. After breakfast this morning we stayed to enjoy the view — no problem and no rush for us to move. We have been before and will definitely be returning. Thank you to all the staff.

Wow! Our perfect place for a Mums and daughters trip away! We booked rooms 17 and 19 which adjoined with a sitting room. We arrived late, got out bags to our room and then went straight to the bar! Fab selection on gins so we were happy! Everyone could not have been more accommodating re our late arrival, so we ordered food pretty much straight away (as it worked in with our plans! ) and wow… the food was to die for… I am always reluctant to have a Sunday Dinner out and about… I struggle to find somewhere that does it as good as home… but guys… you nailed it. The beef was absolutely perfect and same goes for the veg! And the others loved their choices to… Perfect fish and chips, kids food and very happy to oblige with gluten free diet. After supper, the lovely daughters were dispatched to have pamper treatments in the room… the plan was that the Mums would sit in the suit sitting room… but OH NO! The lounge was AMAZING! so we sat there having a G n T, lounged on the sofa's… shoes off and feet up! (we apologised to the owner for our lax behaviour, but he said 'that's what we are about! Home from home, relax, and enjoy! ') … Back to the room (far later than expected! ) to find 2 girls feeling soooo grown up and 100% pampered from their totally amazing treatments… A truly fabulous sleep was had by all.

Brilliant hotel! We phoned late last night after a bad experience at our previously booked hotel and the owner fitted us in at very late notice. We had a beautiful room for us and our little boy, breakfast was lovely and the views and gardens were stunning. Great staff would highly recommend and we’ll definitely be going back! 5* from us.

Had the most amazing Sunday lunch today, without doubt the best ever, the roast beef was tender, the vegetables were delicious and so many, the homemade Yorkshire pudding was fab, the staff were fabulous, friendly and helpful, can't wait to go again.

Reasonable food, steak undercooked. Expensive for what it is. Could be better.

Nice location in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, with a fabulous view over Hawes. Nice, large room. Restaurant serves good food and the breakfast is varied and plentiful. Pleasant helpful staff.

Nice hotel situated above Hawes with fantastic views over Wensleydale from the outside terrace. You can walk to Hawes from the hotel easy downhill, not so on the way back bit of a pull up but ok if reasonably fit. Staff were pleasant and friendly, breakfast was very good with loads of choice. Bedroom was great, fantastic views over the hills and with a four poster bed, this cost a little bit extra but worth it for the view from the window. Only negative was evening dinner, could have been better, this would have added the extra star.

This is a beautifully situated hotel with stunning views across Wensleydale. Service is friendly and the food is superb.

Venue good but they still need to work on. Menus and food quantities. Food tasty but my main course was too small & I didn't think it really matched the description on the menu.

Beautiful location, impressive building and grounds. Nice bar and restaurant with small but good menu. Room 9 has a 4 poster and a marvelous view but disappointingly average bathroom (dropped a star for the shower). Well worth a visit.

El hotel está muy bien, en un edificio muy bonito en el parque nacional de Yorkshire. Las vistas del atardecer desde el lounge son espectaculares si no está nublado. Las camas son un poco viejas y el restaurante es caro, aunque la comida está buena. Buen desayuno.

So romantic, lovly staff lovly hotel, just perfect could not fault a thing whilst we was there. Would go back tomorrow if I could.

One of the nicest Sunday meals I have ever eaten. Very high standard. Warm welcome and great service. The venue is lovely with fantastic views. Can't wait to visit again!

Stayed here for our 40th wedding anniversary in August. Beautiful views but disappointed in the state of the room. Very tired with cracks in the walls, poor paintwork. It would have been a nice touch to have had something in recognition of our anniversary. Food excellent. Staff very friendly. Did report our disappointment in the room to be told they are upgrading each room gradually. We wanted something special for our 40th anniversary shame the room let it down.

Went for an afternoon tea. The building was beautiful and in a lovely setting, but the afternoon tea itself was disappointing. Portions were a little small and scones were raw in the middle.

Two night beak with Breakfast and Dinner. Had a really nice stay in the heart of the Dales. Staff friendly food excellent very comfortable room with glorious view of the Dales. Lounge/bar area very good for a relaxing pint. Would defiantly return for future.

Stopped for a coffee after an uphill soggy walk. The coffee was incredible. Sat in the garden and enjoyed the view and was pleasantly surprised to be joined by a peacock and peahen.

Just home from Simonstone Hall, very sad to leave this wonderfully friendly, fantastic, amazing, awesome beautiful place. We have had the best four nights ever with extremely friendly staff from the Receptionists, House Keeping Staff, Chefs, Bar and Restaurant Staff and Gardener what a superb team you are. Treacle and Toffo our Leonberger kids (dogs) were treated the same as us it was like home from home and so comfortable beds so comfy. We will of course be back. A special thank you to Sarah the receptionist (a great assist to the company) who made this possible for us and the staff that got us an extra night when they were full. They got us a a smaller room but even then house keepers were able to help us in accommodating and asking if we would like furniture taken out to make the room bigger for Treacle and Toffo. Your just simply the best, the food was amazing made fresh and very tasty fine dining to the best just think your amazing Simonstone your Mangers and the owners must be very proud of you. I would be if you were my team.

We popped in for a drink possible food, although the menu sounded lovely we were after a quick bar meal. The lady behind the bar made us feel very welcome and we were treated to a display from the male peacock Basil in front gardens which has gorgeous views down the valley below. We shall return if in the area again and try out the food.

We arrived on foot after a very cold windy wet and muddy walk as the pub in nearby village was closed and were greeted by friendly staff who even put chairs out in front of the fire to hang up our clothes to dry. We were served delicious food very promptly and a lovely cup of mulled cider which was refilled just as I was thinking I might ask for a top up! Lovely place, would love to go back at length.

I came here with my mum and we had a wonderful time. Everything about this place was great. The staff where very helpful and made us feel at home. It was extra beautiful in the snow.

Had a wonderful stay here for my surprise birthday trip.
We stayed in bedroom 4, which I would definitely recommend, the room was lovely, the bed was huge, very clean bathroom, wonderful view, excellent.
Staff were friendly but professional. We stayed for an evening meal which we thoroughly enjoyed. The food was delicious and good portion sizes.
Breakfast was also great. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to go back soon!

Stayed back in October for a few days. The rooms were pleasant apart from heating on all night so a little to warm. On the last night the outside lights were left on all night spoiling the night sky. The menu is limited if staying for a few days as we did as its the same everynight with little choice. Prices agreed and dogs staying arranged 18months previous were not accomodated without a discussion with the rude new owner who has no customer skills at all. If it were not for some of his staff especially the manager that was on duty when we were there I would be rating as a 1 star.

Went for a friend's wedding. Food was great and staff were helpful.

Just popped in for a quick pint while passing through the village. It had a nice selection of beers. We didn't order any food but saw others eating and it looked quite nice. "Top gear" steak night — £40 for two steaks and bottle of wine — seems quite reasonable. Some great views outside. We didn't stay over so can't comment on the rooms.

Very friendly staff, excellent view over the Dales, nice rooms, good breakfast and, as everywhere in England, very dog friendly.
