Avon Wood Resort

Visiting family. Used to stay here in the 70s and 80s. It’s wonderful to visit again. I’m remember the lady who lived in the cottage and the quiet mornings with the Rabbits. Walking down the to the Lake where I spent many hours swimming. It’s still a beautiful place and although I live in Keswick, I would stay here anytime.

Lovely week spent in the Gummers How Retreat at Avon Wood. The lodge was spacious, clean and very homely. We couldn’t fault the park or lodge at all — we would definitely recommend visiting Avon Wood!

Lovely log cabin with hot tub, view's are beautiful looking on too lake Windermere, very clean every thing you need, peaceful, and short drive too the all the scenic places.

A little bit late with this review but we stayed here during October half term. The cabin we stayed in was lovely and clean with everything you could need for a stay. The views we had over Windermere were brilliant, especially when the sun was out. The site was very nice and well kept and in a great location — we will definitely return here ☺️

Stayed at Avon Wood Holiday Home Park earlier this year.
We stayed in the The Retreat, a beautiful setting, complete with Hot Tub and attention to detail design inside.
The breath taking location is superb for a mini getaway… would recommend staying longer in the Summer months!

This was our 2nd stay at avon wood first time was 7 years ago we were so happy to return wish it had been sooner we still found avon wood as beautiful as our first stay the owners were welcoming, friendly and helpful.

every thought has been put in cant wait for our 3rd visit.

We stayed in the Rydell retreat for Easter weekend in the Lake District. The lodge was spacious clean with private patio and hot tub. The view from here over looked lake Windermere. It was amazing!
The special touches such as a bottle of wine, milk and chocolates in the fridge along with Easter eggs on arrival made it very welcoming. The people who ran the site was very friendly and knowledgable of the area. They gave us information about what was available in the area along with recommendations of where to eat. Nothing was to much trouble for them. Overall our weekend was amazing and it’s the first time we have stayed here but we will be back very soon.

This is our second visit. First was our honeymoon and this time was for our second wedding anniversary, lovely place to chill out and have some us time.

We have just returned from a 3 night break staying in coniston retreat, we had an amazing time it was truly fantastic. The lodge was immaculate and had everything you could possibly need, the owners have literally thought of everything.
We have never been to such a peaceful, beautiful place and we will definitely return.
The hot tub was amazing we were in that regardless of the weather and we have left feeling so refreshed and ready to face normal day to day life again.

Secluded park located on the edge of lake windermere. Exceptional quality accommodation luxury cabins and caravans. I highly recommend Avon Woods, perfection!

Beautiful and peaceful holiday park. The lodge we stayed in had everything we needed and was wonderfully clean, we had a lovely seating area where we looked out and could see the lake through the trees with lots of birds flitting about. The owners were incredibly helpful when I contacted them with questions before our visit. Great location too with lots to do within easy reach. Highly recommended.

We have just returned from Avon Wood. This is the third time of visiting and most certainly not the last. The lodge was spotless with absolutely everything you need. The robes, slippers, Prosecco and chocs were a real treat. The hot tub was wonderful to relax in and the views amazing. A lovely walk down to the lake is a must as it is so peaceful. Thanks Avon Wood can't wait to return again next year!

Peaceful, tranquil and friendly efficient staff. Great location on Lake Windermere for waking and using the Lake.
