Love Beech Hill Hotel — we have been twice and it's such a lovely view, great staff and delicious food! The spa and swimming pool are also fabulous to relax in. Can definitely recommend!

Attended a wedding a couple of weeks ago and stayed for the weekend. Lovely room with an amazing view. Staff make this hotel they were always smiling and couldn't do enough for us. Would stay here again.

L stayed her for a week last November it was a lovely experience. Myself and my partner had a fabulous time. Lovely staff and hotel. Food was fabulous l would definitely recommend this hotel. Loved every minute of it thank you 🥂🍾

The food is amazing, great outdoor spa area overlooking the lake… we had a lovely room with lake views. Well worth checking out on line deals. Special shout out to the restaurant staff who were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble, lovely two guys from Barcelona… credit to the hotel!

Had lovely day in the spa area today treatments were perfect, staff friendly the only let down was the changing room, it was really small had to get changed in the toilet area this would be the only thing that would put me off coming again afternoon tea was amazing.

Highly recommend this place, we had a lovely stay, lovely ladies in the spa, we had a lovely massage, the ladies was really nice, everyone was lovely, bar staff Dillon was so nice and friendly, lovely lad, I would definitely stay there again xxxx.

My fiancé treated me to a night at the hotel, the spa was amazing. So relaxing and a lovely quiet break away. The rooms where nice With a lake view and they where warm and clean. The breakfast was nice with lots on offer from fruit, yogurt, pancakes muffins croissants full English cereals whatever you want. We will 100% be returning. Thanks Jan & Gaz xxx.

A lovely 2 night stay. Very nice rooms, everywhere exceptionally clean, really enjoyed the spa area. Fabulous staff all very accommodating and attentive. Plenty of choice for breakfast. Found the path down to the lake on the last day, can imagine that’s beautiful in the summer.

My hisband and I booked a 2 night stay. The hotel itself is lovely, lovely friemdly staff with amazing views. The food is beautiful. We booked the total relaxation couples spa package and all I can say is WOW! this will definitely be a regular treat.

Beautiful location and the spa was great. The food is excellent along with the service. The Spanish waiter Alexander was so good and made us feel very special. Wish we could have stayed the full booking but we only got one night during to covid. I was refunded all the money I was owed when we checked out this morning after a great breakfast. Well done team Beech Hill god bless you all!

We have stayed here for the last 4 years and come here for 2 nights at Christmas. The lake views are amazing and the rooms are clean and spacious. The pool and hot tub are great and the staff are very helpful and friendly. We love this hotel.

When we arrived hotel we told them we are deaf they becomes warm welcome from the reception, a wonderful staffs, friendly welcome, we feel so comfortable there so peaceful relax place we definitely be back here again…! foods absolutely lovely we really enjoyed our 2 nights in this hotel 5 stars for them all and high recommended too — mit John Martin Turley.

because of coronavirus we had been turned away from three hotels because we weren't residents. We wanted a coffee and scone. The Beech Hill Hotel obliged and it was magnificent. The coffee and scone so fresh and delicious. The view from the balcony amazing. The staff, simply the best! so friendly, helpful and amusing. Nothing was too much trouble.

They’ve threaten me and my wife with police because I was fishing there on the deck… you were closed so It makes no sense to behave so aggressive and ridiculous (bad behaviour from so called manager and then together with so self proclaimed “owner“)

Very relaxing atmosphere and the staff can not do enough for you. Bar snacks and drinks exceptional. Marvellous view from our Lake view room. Four Poster bed very comfortable and comfy room.
Great facilities ie indoor swimming pool and steam and sauna rooms with outside hydro pool.

Just got back after a lovely night here, highly recommend this place staff were amazing very friendly and very helpful food was delicious and the views are fabulous will definitely be back only next time for more then 1 night.

Our family party of 12 have just spent a wonderful three days celebrating Christmas at the Beech Hill. Beautiful surroundings and excellent staff who worked very hard over the festive period to make it very special for the guests. The spa facilities are excellent too. We will definitely be going back.

Beautiful Hotel with breathtaking views Staff lovely and attentive and welcoming Only downside was the spa facilities were 3 flights down (not mentioned online) I asked for a room with only 1 flight due to been with Mum who is 80 and wish the location of spa had been mentioned too at time of booking as sadly Mum was unable to manage the 3 flights there and back Had a powercut in room due to faulty hairdryer but staff immediately rectified Would return again.

The rooms were nothing like the photographs on the internet, they were tired and in dire need of refurbishment.
The spa was nothing like any spa I’ve been to it’s simply awful, no changing facilities and definitely not a luxurious relaxing environment.
The evening meal was really nice but the breakfast was disgusting to say the least.
The amount of money we paid for one night was vastly overpriced for such a poor quality hotel. I most certainly would not recommend this, it falls well below even a two star rating.

Absolutely gorgeous experience staying here. Would highly recommend the premier plus lake side view room as that view was one of the best things I’ve ever waken up to. The spa facilities were also excellent and being blessed with perfect weather meant we felt we were abroad! The staff were all fantastic; from reception to the bar and the restaurant. … Thank you beach hill; the most relaxing night away I think I’ve ever had. ❤️

Thanks for a great stay we thoroughly enjoyed our mini moon in your beautiful hotel. The staff were all friendly and couldnt do enough for us. Sad to leave this morning but im sure we will be back in years to come.

The rooms are nothing like what are on the website. Very disappointed. The only good thing about the hotel are the facilities and the view! Very outdated and the rooms could do with a deep clean — my 15 month old baby was walking around with a dead wasp in her hand! There’s no lifts at the hotel so climbing stairs and having your bags to carry along with your baby is hard work. Wouldn’t recommend and definitely wouldn’t stay there again.

Beautiful hotel with stunning views over Lake Windermere. Lovely pool facilities and hot tub with a view of the lake. The food and service was of a very high standard. We really enjoyed our stay and would book again.

We found a MOUSE running around our family room (I had my 2 little girls with me 6months and 2year old) Hotel haven't offered any sort of compensation and said 'it's not uncommon'! Stay here if you want to share your bed with mice! I choose this hotel as I expected more health and safety procedures in place considering they are meant to be a 4* hotel and spa and we definitely pay the price for the stars! I've given it a 1* as the staff are really friendly and helpful.

Having had worked and stayed in beautiful located hotels before. The views are all good and lovely waking up over looking the lake.
But from booking this for my partners birthday over 4 months ago when they instantly took the full amount, I also booked a massage for her, the day before arrival, to find the moment I walked through the door to be presented with such bill before anything else, then a further payment of £75 if I wished to have a room account bill.
We decided to eat in the hotel that night as well. My partner enjoyed her meal but having been a chef in rosette kitchens I was very disappointed I had the pork bbq crackling the crackling itself was rancid and I didn’t eat it, the quennels of pork was nice. My main course of lamb rump was very tough.
We seemed to be rushed along with our meal till it came to deserts (which not being a sweet tooth) I did say that was the best part of our meal. And was left with dirty desert plates for approx 20mins.
The choice of breakfast was ok but the continental choice was well not really continental (ham and cheese with some fruit) no continental meats.
I’ve had far better experiences in hotels and felt like it was very disappointing for the cost of the weekend. There was no comment cards available in the room are at reception when we checked out and was told they could get a duty manager!
Glad my partner enjoyed her birthday anyway but won’t be rushing back if at all.

Excellent place to have good vacation. Child friendly, staff are professional s as well. Food was excellent, good value for money. 2 waiters were dedicated to their roles, despite having a busy night, they are alwaysng and ready to serve. You will know who they are when you come and have a meal. (Forgot to ask their names) Only thing for us is that the room were a bit dated and a bit warm than what we expected. It is summer when we went here. Definitely recommend.

Food was good and made with a good effort. Despite the fact that no one asked us how we want out duck or lamb, it was still good. Also we like our lamb or duck pink it wasn't, but it was still nice, just not exceptional. I think the place has a great potential with the location and the chef who is obviously knows what he is doing but scared to venture away from a medium standard. The food was priced well as well and the wine list was not pricey. It's not a place you go for a gourmet meal experience but you will get a good meal for a good value with a not bad wine list (well price too) just don't expect exceptional experience. Apologies, 3 stars is because I've been raiting Michelin restaurants with 4 in the past.

Very disappointed on the policy of this hotel. I booked a room for August and Unfortunately I had a family emergency come up which meant I had to cancel my stay. They took the money out of my account. I phoned them up explaining the issue and they refused to give me a refund of nearly £400 which is a lot of money to some people even though I gave them plently of notice. This has left me short with money for rest of the month and not being able to get myself into work.

Staff are very friendly and welcoming. Overall good stay. Few downfall, the swimming pool was cold, dipped my toe and didnt want anything to do with it. However the sauna was excellent and the outdoor hot tub was a nice touch, steam room wasnt working and not enough space for the changing rooms. The room itself was clean and tidy had the lake view but instead we got view of the hedge. But overall enjoyed my stay.

Ideal location, only a few minutes drive away from the main town area. Rooms are lovely, but could do with updating. Spa is kept well and the outdoor jaquzzi is a nice touch.

Stayed at this hotel for 1 night. The room they gave us was in the attic. We refused to stay in it. For £109 it was tiny, tatty worn furniture, very small shower room/toilet and the lake view was there if we stood and peered out of our window. The premier inn room we had for 2 nights previously was superior and a lot cheaper! On complaining we were given a much bigger room with a decent bathroom and picture window looking on to the lake. French door opened on to a shared terrace area with table and chairs. Only draw back was 5 flights of stairs! Breakfast — not 4 stars. Grumpy foreign waiter seated us, didnt even wish us good morning. Coffee was awful, not asked if we wanted more tea or toast. He whisked our plates away including our empty butter dish even although we needed more to use on our toast. Lack of basic public service skills. Disappointing!

Amazing place to stay, lower car park entrance needs an upgrade, it's not what you expect from a 4 star hotel, room was very clean, matteress left a lot to be desired, felt like I was in the middle of the Pacific, it was very very soft. Food is incredible, worth noting that you can still order sides on the evening bar menu, even though they aren't on the menu. I will give the place another try, but will be asking for a room with a firm mattress.

Me and my husband stayed at the Beech Hill Spa Hotel Windermere for two nights over the Easter weekend. We booked on a bed and breakfast basis and added on a 3 course evening meal in the restaurant for the first night.
As soon as you walk through the hotel door you are greated by the Lake and the snow covered hills/mountains in the distance. The whole of the reception area, bar lounge and restaurant all overlook the Lake and the views are spectacular.
We requested a lake view room and that’s exactly what we got. We had an incredible 10ft window in our room. We didn’t expect that. It was beautiful waking up to stunning scenery watching the boats go by with a cup of tea in hand. Total bliss.
Our evening meal in the hotels Burlington’s restaurant was absolutely fantastic. The staff are very welcoming and professional. We enjoyed our meal and experience so much that we booked again to have a meal in the restaurant on our second night.
We booked our stay because we wanted to Relax and unwind and we certainly did. The hotel spa has a generous sized swimming pool a steam room and sauna but the best bit is the large outdoor hot tub that overlooks the Lake. It was a great experience — being able to sit in the cold crisp fresh air but be lovely and toasty warm all at the same time, taking in those views = Perfection.

Really nice hotel with amazing views and facility's breakfasts was really good with lots of choice. only scored it four stars because room was looking tired. However the hotel is going through a renovation at present and I am shure what it compleat I would give it five stars.

Best hotel experience in recent memory. Stunning location with rooms and spa (inc outside hot tub) overlooking the lake. From arrival to departure, the service was exceptional. Every member of staff we came into contact with went out of their way to welcome and engage with us in a very warm, natural and authentic manner. The dining experience was nothing short of sensational (love the pre-dinner canapes and the souffle is a must for desert) After being blown away by the menu on the first night, my mother and I couldn't wait for dinner on our second night. Highly recommend sampling something from the extensive gin menu; fruity and light and so refreshing after a day of walking. I will be returning again. P. S. A special shout out to Waldi — keep doing what you're doing!

An enjoyable stay at a nice hotel. Plus points and minus points. Let's start with the minus points. Bathroom was very cramped. Hardly any space at the toilet. Would suggest converting the bath to a shower only, to give more space. Swimming pool was very cold. Dipped my toe in and left it. Lack of hot plates at breakfast. Plates were cold, which let the food cool down too quickly. Now the plus points (which far outweigh the negative ones) Dinner was absolutely amazing. Top quality food and a great service. Room was very clean, well equipped and comfortable. Hot tub and steam room were amazing. Spent ages in the tub, chatting and admiring the view. Staff were great. Had problems with the hairdryer, so a replacement was sent down within minutes. It failed, then a brand new one was sent down, again within minutes.

First impressions, not great unfortunately, looks very drab and dirty from the car park. The nets on the windows look like they haven't been washed for years!. Work was been done on entering the reception, but it does look nice and the reception staff are pleasant, but there didn't seem to be enough staff to help the amount of people eating, drinking and staying here. It would be nice if the staff had the same uniform on but that's me been picky.

The room we stayed in was very big and had a lovely view of lake Windermere, the room itself needs updating, the curtains had mould on the back of them which is a bit off putting, the bed wasn't very comfortable, amenities in the room were ok. The bathroom was Ok, nice corner bath but the tiles look like there from 1970 and the shower took ages to get warm… defo needs a update.
The spa is very nice, the hot tub outside makes it and couldn't ask for a nicer place to relax, only downside was there was no appointments to have a massage or any other treatments done as there was no staff available to do these which isn't good for a spa!
The meal at night was lovely but we felt a little secluded as there was a big dining area at the top and a few more tables which were placed a little to far away for my liking, the staff were very pleasant throughout the meal.
The view in the morning is beautiful.

Location 3 to 4 miles outside of bowness Room. Was fantastic with stunning views of lake Windermere The service was exceptional in all departments restaurant. Bar. Reception. House keeping. Definitely the jewel in this hotel crown is the pool, sauna, steam room, and of course the outside Jacuzzi simply brilliant with all the lake district scenery around you on the down side bar prices are a bit on the high side.

Great hotel and super friendly staff. Situated on the side of a hill leading to, and overlooking, Lake Windermere. Location is quiet but only 2.5 miles from Bowness (£10-12 taxi ride each way though which is a little steep but no fault of the hotel). Lovely spa. Plenty of rooms with a lake view.

Nice spa, the hotel is old but I was in a refrubished room, which was done up well. I was on one of the upper floors and had a great view of the lake. Service was good.

I went for a weekend away by myself in the lakes to treat myself to some me time and opted for this hotel because of the beautiful photos and I was certainly not disappointed. The views were stunning, the breakfast delicious and the pool and outdoor jacuzzi were fantastic. I would highly recommend this hotel and I can't rate the staff highly enough, particularly the reception team. One of the young ladies was particularly kind and helpful and you can tell how hard the team work to ensure all is running smoothly. It was nice to see the staff smiling and getting on so well together. 5 star service — Thank you again!

Beautiful views overlooking Lake Windermere. Most of the staff were so nice especially Chloe who made my son feel extra special. Lovely 2nd room and amazing chandelier in the reception/sitting area.

We had a below a average experience. Moldy room, wet walls, and floor in bathroom was far from safe. Got our room changed and had to rush to get ready for our over priced dinner. Wifi only in lounge is ridiculous for the price we paid to stay. Realized shortly after we left that we left our bathing suits in the first room we had in the rush to move before dinner. Called to arrange getting them back but they could not figure out whether our bathing suits were around. Asked for manager but always in a meeting and never returned calls. Sooo they either tossed them instead of calling us or keep them as mine was brand new and very expensive. So disappointed in how this turned out. Hope the manager calls my husband to finally deal with this appropriately. The one star is for the restaurant staff! They actually cared and were friendly.

My wife and I were given room witch was on the top floor facing the road out front. We were hit in the face by the strong smell of mold immediately as we entered the room. With a quick easy to see inspection I found several large area's of completely saturated wall board and the floor just outside the bathtub felt as though it would not hold the weight of a person. We had been traveling all day to get there and just wanted to relax. So we decided to have a quick shower before we went to the pool/hot tub. On our way back I approached the front desk with our concerns regarding the room. I can honestly say I have never asked for a different room in all my life but felt the need to this time. The young lady at the front desk whom was pleasant went into the back room and came back with keys to a better room which was and upgrade. We were happy with this room except it had two single beds pushed together, which was definitely a let down. The main problem was in the midst of moving our items from room 90 to 92 was that we had forgotten our bathing suits on the back of the bathroom door in Since it's there fault we had to move rooms we believe they should have tried to return the two items or at least compensated us in some form. The reason I say this is not 24 hrs after we left I contacted them about the issue only to be told they would call me back which they did not.

Very nice updated room, clean and spacious with superb view of the lake. Some parts of the hotel are a little dated, but the friendly staff certainly make the stay a welcome one. Wi-Fi is extremely short range and did not work in the room. If you're in the lakes, I recommend Beech Hill Hotel as a place to stay.

Last June visit, a room for the landing doors and windows outside the colorful blooming flowers greatly stunning, coupled with the lake cruise, is really picturesque, fresh memory ⋯

For £200+ at night the hotel was sub par. Dated room, not clean, smell of cigaret smoke. Extremely noisey from footsteps in the room and corridor upstairs. We weren’t happy so booked somewhere else in Windemere the second night and they would offer no refund/discount for the night we refused to stay. Not recommended!

We stayed for 2 nights inclusive of breakfast and 5 course meal both nights. The staff are amazing and can't do enough for you. The evening meal was amazing the food was excellent. Breakfast was perfect helping yourself to hot food and buffet, including cereals, pastries, fruit and much more. We had a lovely room over looking the lake. The room was very modern and lovely and clean. We spent time in the spa which again was amazing, enjoying the hot tub over looking the lake. Such a relaxed place and great staff. We will definitely be back to enjoy this beautiful place.

Room is awesome, beautiful view of the lake with balcony. Food in restaurant is delicious. Staff very friendly and attentive.

We stayed here last night for our anniversary.
The booking we made was on a half board basis as we wanted a relaxing break away and it didn't disappoint.
The service from start to finish was fantastic, we had a lovely few hours in the spa, the hot tub outside had spectacular views of the lake and even with a few rain showers didn't spoil the experience one bit. The restaurant food is fantastic and dinner service spot on. Breakfast was good but the service was not as polished or organised as the dinner the night before. Our room had a lovely lake view and although it was looking a little tired and needed some updating it was very clean and comfortable best nights sleep we have had in a long time. Will be returning for another stay definitely and will treat ourselves to a suite and a longer stay.

Lovely communal areas, nice views and good breakfast. Sadly we stayed in a very dated room. I wrote and complained to the hotel and they said that they would compensate us but to date they have not, so we are left disappointed!

Excellent location, stunning scenery, brilliant views, amazing spa facilities and exceptional staff. However… single glazed wooden windows which don't shut properly due to broken clasps on a £200 per night room causing freezing draughts. Unacceptable. Mucky light shades, a shower with the power of an asthmatic ant, cracked tiles, smelly drains, dirty extractor fan… all things that could be fixed within a day but reduce the appeal of the room immeasurably. Terribly unfortunate.

Worst room we ever slept in! Mattress was so soft we had backache which woke us up at 5am. I needed to lay down on the floor to feel better. Useless curtains letting the sun in which contributed to keeping us awake. The walls are made of paper we could hear our neighbour snoring. The view was partly blocked by the roof of the so called spa. The bathroom was as tiny as the room. The shower pressure however was good! The spa in itself is beautiful but has been built for dwarves. The price of food and drink is ridiculously high but not as bad as the price of the room per night! Good advice for whoever considers a room there: AVOID it like the plague!

Started off very poorly, we arrived to a room which was completely different to any photos that are on the website. We were very disappointed and the staff were very understanding and moved us into a larger and more representative room. There were still issues with cleanliness in the room, but the general experience following this was good. We didn't try the restaurant as we had lost confidence in the hotel after all the room issues, so we cancelled the booking. Our second day was much better, we had a great nights sleep, a good breakfast and in the evening we were able to use the spa which was extremely good. We did bring the issues we had up with management upon checkout and they were extremely apologetic, we ended up being offered a complementary night's stay. I must say, the staff were brilliant all the way through. Even though we had been complaining, they were all very friendly and helpful. We are very much looking forward to our next stay and I'm hoping to be able to upgrade this rating afterwards.

Great location. Views over lake sensational. Lovely meal on balcony overlooking sunset. Only minor issues were the amount of stairs from car park to negotiate with heavy cases (3 flights) and room a bit dated.

The spa was VERY nice, clean and modern. The hotel is clean but needs some interior touch ups such as scuffed carpets, marks on walls and battered skirting boards. Howecer breakfast was delicious and the staff very pleasant.

Absolutly wonderfull had our honeymoon there.

Beach hill hotel is in a beautiful position above lake Windermere in the lake district well worth a visit if only for the views also the foods good.

We stayed at this hotel in August 2012 and very much enjoyed it. We had a standard room with breakfast included and both were excellent. The room had a wonderful view of windermere and opened up onto a lovely extended patio area. Breakfast was also good.

Just back from a 3 night stay at the Beech Hill Hotel in Windermere and can honestly say that I loved every minute of it. Me and Husband were in room 80 which has the most beautiful view of the lake. We took so many photos through the window, it looks like we never left the room! The bed was huge, bathroom very nicely tiled and plenty big enough, everything was clean, the staff very attentive and breakfast was — well, I wanted to roll it all up and take it home with me! I have no idea why this hotel has had so many bad reviews, we found nothing to complain about. Its not cheap to stay at the Beech Hill but personally I think it was worth every penny and it was just the break I needed. I would definately book again and would definately recommend this hotel.

It is disappointing when showing visuals & details on the website that does not match the actual existing room. Very an out dated style.

Stayed at this hotel for a midweek break to celebrate my wife's birthday, biggest mistake we ever made hotel room was absolutely disgusting, dust everywhere shower head full of mold, had two single beds pushed together supposed to be a double bed Very uncomfortable, made a formal complaint on the first evening to the duty manager but nothing was passed on to the manager next day. Was told room would be deep cleaned the next morning, but surprise surprise nothing was done, if you are not in the best of health then avoid this hotel we stayed in room 2 and you have to travel down 6 levels of stairs approximately 80 steps without any lift being available. Our journey to our room was also very unpleasant wall paper hanging off the walls, every level smelt of damp on the positive side after making a further complaint when returning home I was offered one nights stay back at the hotel as a gesture of good will but. We had to make a reservation first and the extra night would be added on free so how that works not sure, in a nut shell avoid this hotel first impressions are very misleading.

Spent the day at the hotel for a wedding and the setting was beautiful. The staff did not seem to have any idea of what was going on however and when asking where the wedding ceremony was taking place we were sent to what turned out to be a bedroom and then outside before being shown the hall itself. Beautiful and friendly but somewhat disorganised.

When you are served sparkling wine for champagne pay the price for the french exilir something id very wrong with the staff or management. I am saying so because it was done in my presence at a wedding reception. Ugly.

We booked online via the hotel's website and got a great value deal for a mid-week stay of two nights. Upon arrival we were told that we had been upgraded and had Room 7. I have to say that it was a very good room. Recently redecorated, all the expected facilities, large in size with high ceiling, and a fantastic view of the lake. The bathroom was wonderful, with whirlpool bath and a double headed shower. We used the swimming pool prior to dinner. It's a good size, but the water could have been a little warmer for my taste. The restaurant menu was excellent and good value at less than £40 for 5 course. The choice of dishes was good and they were very tasty. Breakfast was serve yourself and I have no problem with that. Indeed it means that you can have as much as you want! The option of a hash brown would have been nice. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and will come again, but only for Room 7.

We had a wonderful holiday in Windermere in the first week of March 2012. Arrived to a very warm welcome by the reception staff, we had booked to stay DBB as part of a special offer from the hotels website, which was absolutely fantastic value. It was the first time we had visited the hotel and we were truly impressed, the staff were excellent, the food was exquisite and our room had what can only be described as a breath taking view across lake Windermere. The staff were polite, very attentive and helpful, from the reception through to the bar, we felt very welcome. Our 5 Course Dinner was excellent value at £40 and the wine list was comprehensive and reasonably priced. We had a great stay and highly recommend the Beech Hill Hotel, we particularly enjoyed the view of across the Lake from the lounge, simply stunning.
