A smart comfortable pub with friendly staff.

Staff are always friendly and the pub is always in great condition. Dog friendly and reasonably priced which is a bonus. Only downside is a lack of variety of cask/craft ale.

Upon entering the pub you very much feel like it's just another local. The room (junior suite) is about as far from what you would expect. Excellent decor and great facilities. Highly recommended.

Great "real pub" feel inside. Decent selection of beer if nothing special. Its highlight is probably gin and whisky selection.

Excellent accommodation, friendly staff, enjoyed the 1 night break away from home and the office, even though we only live 10 minutes away. Wide selection on the self service continental breakfast table.

After me and the wife stayed there on Saturday. We where both blown away with the fantastic service and room was big fresh. And plenty of food on offer. Only thing if anything was breakfast you help yourself to bread, cereal, fruit juice etc. And alot of choice. But would have liked a full English breakfast. We both knew beforehand that they don't do it but most b&bs offer a full English. And no kids aloud? Found the garden was sign overload. Don't do this must do that etc. Will stay again 1000%

Not sure what it is trying to be the chintz and ornaments remind me of my grandmothers sitting room down to the pair of matching dogs on the fireplaces. But I feel this is spoilt by the hundreds (it seems) tv's showing sky sport aimed at blokes who love football trying to be too many things for too many people and achieving none well, busy saturday lunch time and only 3 of us in the pub where as other local pubs were a lot busier with better atmosphere.

No under 18s allowed in pub or garden but dogs allowed in garden. Beer nice but average nearly £4 a pint. If dogs were allowed in would also visit when weather cold as it's a nice adult atmosphere inside with nice clientele. No food except crisps etc.

Average pub that could be so much more.

Apart from the fact that it doesn't serve evening meals, it's hard to find fault with this place. Superb from start to finish. Warm welcome, gorgeous rooms and brilliant breakfast. It's the extra little touches that makes it so special. Like a welcome pack with crisps, chocolate and biscuits in your room, and DVDs and sweets on the landing, all designed to make your stay even better. Whenever I'm in this area, I will always see if this is available. 5 out of 5!

Good atmosphere and service.

Disappointed!. I was forced to cancel my trip in medical advise at very short notice. The hotel billed me for the full cost of the room including breakfast! Despite repeated attempts through out the day I was never able to speak to a person about this. Now to add to my health problem I have been billed for the full stay. I would expect to lose a portion of the cost to cover for their lost profit but not the total amount which is unreasonable.

Friendly warm atmosphere good quiz night.

Nice pub, little pots of cheese, pickles and onions available at the bar are an absolutely treat.

Room very spacious, warm and clean. Lovely in room tray with hot chocolate, coffee, tea and biscuits. Iron and hairdryer, and dressing gowns. Breakfast was continental which we knew on booking but so many choices… 4 fruit juices, yoghurt, yoghurt drinks, fruit, cheeses, porridge, peanut butter, marmite, as well as jams, soya milk, crumpets, croissants, fruit loaf etc bed extremely comfortable. Pub downstairs lovely too with coal fire and reasonable drink offers. Friendly staff. Highly recommended.

A lovely hotel with only half a dozen rooms but lovely decorated and very clean. Good mattress and nice breakfast. It is above a pub so it can get loud but that does not detract from the location. Free parking and Wi-Fi and a lovely host couple that make you feel part of the family in 5 minutes. If I am ever back in the area this place is a must! Update: I forgot something in my room and Andy the owner offered to mail it through to me. That is service well above anything you see in a large chain. Thank you!
