Pleasant stay. Only down side was the noise made by the builders when they got up early in the morning.

Pleasant staff, rooms a bit pricey.

Been going there for years u wouldnt find a better hotel any were family run rooms tops meals 10. Out of ten and staff so friendly worth a visit.

I had a front single room, with this sea view. Weather was very cold, my room was lovely and warm. The hotel is peaceful, I slept very well. Staff were friendly and helpful, thanks. The breakfast is very generous and delicious, I had to order half the full English. Location is convenient on the high street. Bus services to Middlesbrough, or coastal route to Whitby stop right outside. I used cheerful Plimsol line, left along the high street, for a drink.

We had our slimming world Christmas meal here. Food was lovely. Good entertainment and friendly staff.

Family run hotel, friendly and efficient staff. Welcoming atmosphere, good food and comfortable rooms. Reasonable prices.

Very friendly and comfortable put on great events last night's Xmas party was wonderful.

What a lovely night on Saturday for our slimming world xmas party the food was 5 star home made soup which was delicious enjoyed the whole night.

Stayed here for two nights last week. Room and hotel was very clean. Staff were very friendly. Breakfast was cooked to order and very tasty. Definitely would go back again. Excellent value for money.

Was a nice little hotel, a few more attention to details could improve this hotel. Eg no milk for a coffee in the room. Bed was a little too small for 2 adults but Di e for 1 night. Breakfast was nice and freshly cooked with very nice staff.

Superb in every sense from the rooms to food to very cheerful and friendly staff plus ideally situated with sea views and easy access to town centre. I highly recommend this hotel and I for one will be returning.

Always been a favourite of ours for many a year. Always love staying here when visiting my home town. Recently we were out up for 4 free nights in a beautiful room after our last stay had problems with alarms going off. Also police in hotel after some fugitive. Anyway as always the staff were outstanding and offered my wife and I a free mini break on our next visit can't beat that sort of service.

Comfy, Clean, Cosy. Just returned home after my second stay at The Claxton. What impresses me about this hotel is the superb cleanliness of every area, the quality of the bedding uses, excellent choice at breakfast and last but not least the friendliness of every member of staff. We were in town visiting family and they were welcomed into the lounge, we had a tray of tea and just sat and chatted and watched the sea. Booked again for December. This time we stayed in a standard room which was absolutely fine but in December we are having one of the recently refurbished luxury rooms which face out to sea, the rooms are stunning and so are the views.

Great staff. Dawn and Donna are diamonds. It is also the venue for Redcarukes. Every Thursday at 7 pm except the first Thursday of the month.

We didn't stay here we just parked outside because there was a Persian pokemon.

Stayed first time, stuff where very professional and helpful, I am claustrophobic and the first double room I wasn't offered wasn't suitsble but they quickly delt with it and offered me a twin room, I loved it had a sea view, more space and was more ideal, on my second visit, few improvements with new shower much much cleaner definitely and I made sure to inform them if it was possible to have the same room as before and I got it again which I appreviated that they take into account guest request? Definitely happy again and me and my fiancé will always cherish this place as it was one of our first short getaways, we only stay for a night normally but as time goes hopefully I'm the summer can stay longer.

Hi me and the wife stayed in room 1 it was very clean and the on suite is fantastic we both like the room and fittings also plenty of tea and coffee in room and a good sea view the breakfast was very good and the staff very helpful 10/10 one word sums it up " fantastic " Mr + Mrs P M Fessey.

My boyfriend and I stayed in The Claxton Hotel after it was recommended by a friend. We stayed in a double en-suite, room 17 and it was a very adaquete room with everything you need — kettle, towels, a tv. The bed was amazingly comfortable and the storage space in the room is also good. The room cost £50 which is a fair price especially because this includes a tastey breakfast and you are in a prime location, right in the town centre. Although we didn't interact much with the staff when we did they all proved to be really friendly. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again and we would recommend this hotel to anyone.
