We held day two of our wedding celebrations at The Barrasford Arms. A great space with spacious (recently redecorated) rooms and brilliant outdoor space with lovely countryside views. Victoria and Michael were brilliant in supporting us with the planning and we did this virtually initially due to the pandemic. They had great ideas, provided us with feedback, incredibly accommodating and flexible. We also had a buffet on the day which was delicious and Michael and his team created for us. During the day we had the New York Brass band which worked perfectly in the outside area and we even had a conga! We had use of the pub for the whole day and we and some of guests used the newly refurbished rooms to stay and rest our heads after a fantastic day with friends and family. We were then greeted with a great breakfast in the morning. Victoria and Michael are such a lovely couple with enthusiasm and passion for the work they do and it really does come across as a vocation. The whole team are friendly and attentive. They really are brilliant and just a huge thank you for us in helping continue our wedding celebrations. We can’t wait to visit again in the future and wholly recommend!

Stayed here for business reasons and all I can say is it was a lovely English country pub/hotel with a warm welcoming feel in a delightful location. Staff were friendly and helpful also sorted me with a spare iphone plug to charge my phone. Thanks for that again. Food was outstanding and the waitresses was fantastic too making sure you felt safe and comfortable during the covid still about place is had hand sanitizer about for you to use Too.

Can't recommend the classic highly enough, and as always the hand cut chips are the best around.

First visit and we will definately be back. Warm and friendly welcome. Absolutely deliciously meal, could not fault it.

This was our first time we have had a meal at the barrasford arms. It was excellent very tasty everything on the plate was homemade. The service was first class and we were served promptly even thou there was a large party in at the same time. Definitely worth a visit, we will b back.

We have been meaning to eat here since Michael and Victoria took over the pub. I have lots of great memories of Saturday evenings spent here with Humshaugh cricket team and am glad to see the history of the pub being preserved with the photos. Always known for good beer and that hasn't changed. We had the two course lunch for £15 which was good value for money. Chicken liver parfait with tasty spiced apple chutney followed by hake (much underrated fish that is lovely) and chips for my other half. I enjoyed the fillet of salmon with crispy skin cooked perfectly in a beurre blanc, new potatoes and tenderstem broccoli. Portion size just right so I was able to indulge in the cherry frangipane tart.
We sat in the bar, nice comfortable seats. Much to recommend here and will be back.

Love this old pub… beautiful building, amazing food and the staff are so helpful.

Played league darts here and always remember the roaring fire in the main bar. Long time since I have visited properly but the venue is under new management and I hear good things.

Have visited here a few times! Never been disappointed! The food is wonderful! I had the pork on Sunday and the flavour was fantastic! Can't wait to go back! Staff are very friendly and the atmosphere is great!

Only popped in for a drink on our drive home. Very cosy atmosphere, friendly staff, we didn't stop for food but my partner had a chat with the staff about the likely lads episode that was filmed there and I read about the walks etc in the local area. Lovely visit.

My local pub and it is brilliant. The hub of the village but very welcoming to visitors. The food is top notch. Michael and Victoria are wonderful hosts.

The first time we stayed here was by accident — another local hotel 'forgot' our booking, and when we turned up we're full. To be fair, they arranged for us to stay at the Barrasford Arms. On the basis of a fabulous first stay we went back again last Saturday — and it was just as good. Cheese soufflé to die for, the best lamb I've ever tasted, a lovely Malbec, and friendly helpful staff who are professional but not too formal. Alongside gorgeous Northumberland … what could be better?!

Enjoyed a fabulous meal last night with my husband and four friends. Can't fault anything absolutely a top nosh meal. Can recommend the sharing lamb dish and my steak was lovely. The wine flowed and a brilliant night was had by all.

I stayed at the Barrasford Arms for three nights!
I enjoyed it immensely, and I received an absolute VIP service!
The food was fantastic and the room was great!
And it was fantastic having breakfast overlooking a medieval castle!
