What an amazing place to stay, lovely comfortable rooms, very peaceful, perfect breakfast, ideal location.
We all loved making friends with the dogs, piglets and most of all Turks the turkey.

I stayed for a night at Burnhopeside Hall and loved everything about it! A very warm welcome from Christine, HUGE bed, beautiful grounds and a lovely breakfast! 100% recommended! Can’t wait to return :)

Very comfortable room with garden view, king-sized bed and a bookself with good books. The bathroom was phenomenal. Our Hosts (a couple and two dogs) were very friendly. Plenty of choices for breakfast too!

Warm welcome, lovely room, fabulous bathroom and a marvellous breakfast. Made to feel very welcome indeed so I'll definitely stay again if I'm in the area.

I loved this place. Peace and tranquillity. Beautiful Georgian mansion away from road noise or any noise for that matter. Massive room with a massive bed. Hostess Christine was charming. Barney and Max the dogs were very welcoming too! Best breakfast ever. Don't expect anything but wind down in the evening, it's just so peaceful. Definitely 5 stars out of 5 from me.

A huge thanks to Christine and Phil who were fantastic for our wedding in the middle of July. The location of this for a wedding is amazing; close to Durham but out into the countryside. Rooms were impressively decorated including the newly renovated rooms. Showers are amazing too. We used the lawn outside the main house for reception drinks and then followed a marquee in the larger field looking over the valley. Phil and Christine were soo very helpful during the stay and he…lped out with bits such as hay bales, outside lighting, signs. We loved the fact that we were able to enjoy the whole weekend with friends and family and not just the wedding day. We could not have asked for a greater location for our wedding reception and nicer people onsite to help our day. A massive thank you Lizzie & Kevin x.

Beautiful, peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle. Perfect in every way.

Beautiful old house with huge rooms, updated bathrooms, and ours had a giant sleigh bed. Several common rooms, a reading room with a fire and sofa, one with a piano, another with a full size billiards table. Within a mile of a pub and a restaurant, grounds to walk in, and far enough from the road not to hear it. Great sausages from their own pigs with breakfast. Great find.

Really lovely place with a really lovely owner. Would br a great place for a wedding. Bathroom was to die for and some of the friendliest dogs I have ever met!

Excellent place to stay. Lovely surroundings and very comfortable rooms. Christine the owner is a delightful host. Breakfast was excellent especially the meaty pork sausages. I would certainly stay here again.

Christine, my sincere apologies regarding my initial 1 star rating. I was cut off part way through the process. I travel extensively on business and for leisure and rarely have I found such delightful accommodation, service and location. It was a delight staying with you. I was made welcome in your exceptional B&B. My experience was enhanced further by the arrival of another guest by helicopter. ☺ To anyone reading this review, I truly commend Burnhopside Hall without any reservation, unlike my IT skills.

It is in a stunning location and the rooms were awesome and the service was amazing as well.

This was by far the best place we stayed in all of England. Just a gorgeous house! The rooms were very clean and fresh. Christine, the owner, is the sweetest, kindest lady. She made us feel at home. Polly and other staff were so kind and welcoming. I wished we could've stayed there longer.

My wife and myself have just returned from burnhopeside hall after a one night stay Christine the owner and her staff were absolutely fantastic nothing was to much trouble the rooms are fabulous and the food to die for. A little piece of heaven tucked away in the county durham country side lovely walks around the huge grounds see the geese pigs squirrels. Hopefully we will return.
