A fab place. We visited a few times during our holiday and found the staff so friendly and extremely helpful. The food all looked great and we especially enjoyed the seafood platter which was delicious and huge 😋. A fantastic location and sunsets were amazing. I have just came back from a short break at The Old Success Inn. Our room was absolutely beautiful and spotless! The sea views are incredible and the dog even got his own bed and bowl. The food was amazing and the breakfast was too. From the first phone call to our last night all the staff were all professional, friendly and they all love dogs! Nothing was any trouble and I am definitely going to book again. Honestly could not recommend The Old Success enough, we had our wedding here and have stayed multiple times beforehand because we fell in love here & Sennen captured our heart. The food is sensational, the staff are so friendly, welcoming and can’t do enough for you. Our wedding was incredible and Josie, Emily and Pete made it so easy from start to finish, especially considering this was their first wedding. Alongside this meg the waitress was also our photographer and was INCREDIBLE, also Bee the house keeper is amazing. If you want amazing views, food and friendly staff as well as incredible rooms this is your place. Beware it will steal your heart. Thank you to all the staff, we will be back because it’s the most magical place.

I could not be more impressed with this idillic little retreat away. Lucky enough to get two nights away. The hotel and bar staff were so friendly and helpful. Made to feel totally at home. The food was amazing, and always came with great recommendations. Had a stunning roast here today every element of the roast was cooked to perfection and really cosy atmosphere and friendly staff. Can’t wait to go back again and try something else on the menu.

We have just got back from a couple of nights and cannot recommend it highly enough. The communication before we got there was great then when we arrived everyone was so friendly and couldn’t do enough to make our stay perfect. On top of this the location, decor and food where amazing plus very dog friendly, 5 stars every day of the week!

Fabulous food and staff. Really enjoyed our evening here. I recommend it.

Waited patiently while they served people that came in after us, but accepted that staff had made a mistake. Waited at least 30 mins for drink to arrive after ordering. Ordered a sandwich and cheesy chips to fuel our walk home to St Just. After about an hour of waiting and seeing the table next to us, who had arrived 20 mins after us being served full cooked meals we told staff we were leaving as fed up of waiting and asked for drinks bill. Our food was then rushed to us. Admittedly they did not charge us for it but it had clearly been hanging around in the kitchen for quite some time as the bread was dry to touch where it had been hanging around and the cheese on the chips was no longer melted as it had reset. My advise — if you’re hungry or thirsty give this one a miss. You won’t get drunk there but you will die of hunger!

The accommodation is spacious, comfortable and attractive. Love the window seats and the bathroom. Staff are warm, friendly and Covid-safe! Meal portions are generous. Surpassed expectations, well done.

The team were amazing the best service we have had during our stay in pra sands. The manager was brilliant made us feel relaxed as he made the rules clear to us. We come too sennen on a visit most years. Very impressed with the service. Today we had lunch food and service was brilliant. Really great team friendly and efficient.

Lovely pub grub and despite, it seems, everyone who had earlier been on the beach piling in for food and or the quiz, and a missing supply delivery, the staff were brilliant, maintaining a calm presence throughout. Definitely recommend this place.

Really nice food, a little more expensive than the pubs near where we live, but hey, it's a beach village in Cornwall! Anyway, really good size portions — they gave me masses of chips with my burger. Excellent selection of beers, ciders, etc. It's the only pub in town (that we could see), but it doesn't seem like they take that fact for granted. Would definitely go there again.

We arrived at this lovely Inn after a long day's walk along the coastal path, arriving just minutes before the kitchen closed for the night. All of the staff, from the manager to the wait staff, were without exception absolutely outstanding and solicitous, ensuring we got our dinner order sent in time and that our room was satisfactory. And the room most definitely was! Of the 3 weeks we spent touring the English countryside, the Old Success Inn in Sennen Cove was definitely among the most superior: spacious room, windows that opened wide and allowed a lovely breeze on a hot July night, a luxuriously soft bed, and all the amenities we could hope for. Breakfast was also generous, delicious, in a welcoming setting. We particularly noticed that the staff, many of them quite young, behaved with exceptional maturity, friendliness and helpfulness. I can't wait until we are in the area again!

Despite being very busy, we managed to get a table. Staff are very friendly, even when rushed off their feet. The view out to see is super if you can get an indoor window seat. Outside is even better on a good day. Bring warm clothes if in the evening as it cools down outside quickly once the sun goes down. Mussels are good. The Thai style fish curry was great but not hearty. Kids had gourmet burgers which went down well. They stopped taking orders just after us as they had a 1-1.5 hour wait. Parking can be tricky. There are two seafront pay-and-display car parks which fill up quickly. You really need to book a table, but it's totally worth it. Great location with a handy beach for walking off your dinner.

Amazing food! Had a Halloumi Burger, came with red peppers, mushrooms and chilli jelly. On top of the amazing food, they had some really friendly and some recognisable bartenders who were amazing! 10/10 would highly recommend this place for a nice bite looking out across the beautiful Sennen beach!

Lovely, lovely spot. A fantastic pub, views to die for. A return visit so we knew the lay of the land. Highly recommended but very busy on a summer lunchtime and parking is a nice stretch of the legs to build up the thirst. Again, lovely.

I’ve been visiting since the early 90’s and it’s Probably one of the best pub locations in cornwall, awesome friendly well informed staff, great food, incredibly well kept ales and a well priced and varied wine list that suits all tastes and budgets. The food is well prepared and very tasty, clearly there is a lot skill in the kitchen in order to maintain the quality they do and deal with the volume of visitors that arrive through their doors at once. We live 10 Miles away and it’s a real treat to have this fantastic pub on our doorstep — This place is going from strength to strength under the new management! Keep up the good work.

We have been holidaying in Sennen for 20 years and have spent many enjoyable evenings in the pub. A group of us were down this weekend to celebrate our daughter's wedding and thought we would pop in for a drink. Yes we got to sit outside with the wonderful view but sadly we could only afford 1 round of drinks. 1 pint of Tribute, 1 glass of red wine, 1 orange squash and 1 blackcurrant squash came to an eyewatering £12! There were many jokes made about phoning bank managers to extend overdrafts, re-mortgaging etc. Such a shame.

Good selection of beers, cider and wines. Very pleasant people and the food is also very good. The ham, egg and chips includes seriously good ham and the linguine with crab and prawns was very tasty and the sauce was very fresh and light. Will definitely return.

I wanted to give this 5 stars as my scampi was lovely. My grandaughter of 22 months we ordered her a pizza off the children's menu which was half a bread roll with some tinned tomatoes and cheese on top. For £5.95 It was really outrageous and the side salad was a heap of rocket. No tomatoes or cucumber although when asked they brought some. The menu also said they got a Capri Sun drink included but when we asked they didn't have any, but offered an alternative. The Old Success has been a favourite for some 45+ years and the renovations are fab but think "Dick Turpin" wrote the children's menu.

We had a great old fashioned plougmans lunch there and all the stuff were very friendly and helpful and all local produce and beers.

Certainly not a hotel basically a pub with rooms. We were kicked out of the bar at 1105 and told we were "welcome to finish our drinks in our rooms" which was very bizarre as we were with friends. The rooms prices are too expensive for what it is but if you are happy paying London prices then you will be fine. Shower needs some power and bathroom sink was blocked. Breakfast was excellent.

Too many reserved tables. Poor service. Some meals not available. And food poor quality.

Lovely, relaxing and a friendly place to stay. Our room looked over the cove and the staff couldn't do enough to make our stay a pleasurable one. Would highly recommend and will definetly return in the future.

A very friendly and relaxed hotel. The rooms are very comfortable and nicely decorated and a lot have sea views. The breakfast menu has a good selection and the cooked veggie option was superb! The bar can get busy with locals and tourists alike but retains a great atmosphere, and has live music most weekends. Good selection of food on the bar menu with a few veggie options.

Nice little pub in Sennen Cove. Nice views of to the Bay. It's a St Austell breweries pub, so only their beers are available on cask. Food was a bit on the disappointing side. I had the shellfish linguine for lunch and the white sauce was too much and too thick. Didn't get much crabmeat for the price.

Nice pub, we stopped over on our walk to Lands End. It looked nice and it had a nice feeling.

Absolutely love this place! Discovered it a couple of days ago; we got lucky and bagged a table with a view for late lunch. Dining area was full, fire roaring, friendly and attentive staff and the food was delicious and good value too. Popped back there again for a Christmas drink yesterday. Overall, couldn't fault the Old Success and highly recommend to others :)

Great place to stay to visit landsend, walk to lands end. Nice one bed apartment with kitchen for 100 canadian dollars a night, gave free breakfast on asking, nice food.

A very warm welcome and friendly service, spectacular views from the quaint traditional Inn, dogs are also welcome, there is a lovely seating area outside with super views over the lovely cove and beach, there is a car park a very short walk away, my partner had the cheese & ham sandwich, I had the cajun chicken burger both were delicious, we couldn't fault a thing, we will definitely be returning here.

The room is in an amazing location. There are limited vegan options for food which was disappointing. The room had a damp problem but being so close to the sea is almost expected. The staff were always lovely and friendly, and I would go back again.

Top pub. Simple grub cooked well. Cold cider served with a smile. Epic views of the relentless Atlantic.

Took a while to get our food but it was well worth the wait as it was very good quality. Food menu could have a little more choice in my opinion but a good choice for a good meal :)

I was looking forward to our meal having planned to eat here beforehand. I was hugely disappointed… the food arrived at the table cold and whilst the staff were apologetic and quickly replaced our order, bizarrely, the replacements were barely warm. The final straw was a wiry hair in my tartar sauce… we left was was remaining on our plates and I guarantee that I will not return.

I'll preface this by saying the waiting staff were absolutely lovely. The food here is abysmal. First off, a large proportion of menu items were unavailable (despite eating fairly early in dinner service). The specials menu looked like it was printed at least a week ago. The food we ordered was quite inconsistent with menu descriptions. The caesar salad starter was served with dry (gristly? ) chicken and a big gnarly hair, apparently instead of the parmesan and anchovies the menu advertised. All of the main courses were poorly presented and wholly disappointing. We didn't dare stay for pudding. We quickly noticed that most tables were sending food back to the kitchen. We have been told that this is not unusual. We heard the place had taken a turn for the worse following a recent change in management, so I'd advise against considering any older positive reviews.

Location of the hotel really great, right on the ocean. Only downside are the limited parking of the property and the room in which I stayed above the kitchen. The helpful and friendly staff has always shown themselves to the height of every situation.

Beautiful views of the sea and sandy beach nearby, we had an amazing and comfortable en-suite room. The evening dinner had huge variety and is very nicely done and served properly along with the breakfast. The staff and residents are generally very friendly and helpful, even the 17th century building is nice and sturdy. The prices are very reasonable and the bar was very lively and atmospheric even during winter! Overall everything was perfect, 5/5 would stay again.

Great food, glacial service. After an hour and a complaint, the starter arrived. Had to ask for the plates to be cleared. 40 mins later the mains turned up. By this time the staff could hardly be got hold of. Again asked for the plates to be taken, and 20 mins later asked for the pudding menu which clearly wasn't going to arrive by itself. Ordered pudding and the bill at the same time, for obvious reasons. Pudding did arrive quickly, unlike the bill which had to be chased again. Bill was missing the deserts and a main — could have been an apology but if it was they never told me. Pity really as the food was really nice, just that it took 2 1/2 hours to have a meal with 2 young children.

Great view over the cove, and perfectly situated near the bus stop, overlooking the landscape. Enjoyed the chips and drinks. It was clearly a popular place, as there were lots of people on my last visit (summer 2013). But a good pub all the same.

Situated right on the sea front at Sennen Cove the Old Success Inn enjoys fantastic sea views. I was staying on a Friday night in June 2014, prior to setting off from Land's End the next day to cycle to John O'Groats. The pub was lively and vibrant and I enjoyed sitting with a pint watching another group of cyclists unloading bikes from a Land Rover. They were also staying overnight prior to cycle to the other end of the country. My bike, along with theirs, was securely locked up in the pub's store room. The ensuite room was very comfortable and full of character. Being in a building dating from 1619 I imagine the other rooms also had character. I slept well and it was surprisingly quiet despite the vibrancy of the bar. The next morning I gate crashed the other cyclists buffet style breakfast. This was excellent with plentiful supplies of cereals, fruit, juice and bacon, sausages eggs etc. There was also proof that the smoke detectors work when the fire alarm was set off by someone leaving their toast to carbonise in the toaster. The only downside for the cyclist is the long and very steep hill from the beach up to the main road. Unless you are lucky enough to have a Land Rover to carry you and your bike the couple of miles to Lands End.

Been coming here for years and new quite a few of the locals, i must say very disapointed with the menu this year, if you dont like fish then you better eat somewhere els, nearly everything is fish related, no chicken dishes at all even childrens menu has no chicken. need to sort as I heard a few people moaning regarding the menu.

Lovely place at a great beach, just a short walk along the coast path from Land's End. The staff here is wonderful: there was a huge storm that caused a power outage while I stayed here, and they stayed cheerful, everyone had a great time.
