We had a fantastic evening here on Saturday 9 April for a birthday. Nine adults altogether who enjoyed great food and drink in a lovely atmosphere. A big thank you to Trina, Molly and the rest of the team — especially the chefs!

Very dog friendly and lovely, friendly and efficient service. Food was hearty and tasty. Great value for money. Friendly local pub atmosphere.

Perfect venue for Golf at St Mellion for people who don’t want to stay at a big hotel and prefer a more homely environment.

Just arrived and had a lovely welcome and a great lunch. Our rooms are beautiful and clean so what more can we ask. Superb weather on top of all that.

Waited 40 minutes just to get drinks first at the table, no drinks came and given up waiting to order food as was still waiting for drinks. Luckily we had some drink and food in the car but just just very slow and poor service. Room is very clean and tidy. Sadly just no drink or food service.

What a lovely place The Weary Friar is! One of my absolute favourites! We had a 60th birthday meal out for my dad and the amount of effort that went into the table and everything was amazing! The food was delicious, atmosphere was great and a free drink for the birthday boy! Never ever disappointed when visiting and I’ve been here plenty of times🥰 Thank you! 🎉

We had a takeaway of gammon, chips, egg, pineapple, cooked tomato, mushrooms & peas this evening. It was hot & delicious & cooked to perfection. A truly outstanding meal. The best gammon steak we have ever had. Thank you!

My daughter Lauren had her 18th birthday party here. I cannot recommend the weary friar enough, what a fabulous venue with amazing staff. I would like to personally thank Trina & Ryan west for our surprise which they had set up for us which was having our son / Lauren’s brother home for her 18th. They are the most wonderful couple, I can’t thank them enough. 5* weary friar Thankyou xx.

Last night we went with a family group for an evening and a meal. What a gem of a place. I haven't been to a country pub for a while and this place was perfect in every way. Friendly exceptional service. The man at the bar was polite and efficient. A very good landlord. The waitress was exceptional. A young bright friendly girl who didn't refer to us as 'guys' like so many of the staff you find in chain restaurants nowadays. The pub was busy with customers eating, at the bar and really lovely atmosphere. Nothing was too much trouble. Very clean and well stocked bar. Pub food was really good. Just what you should expect in a pub. Excellent. Would highly recommend.

Sticky tables, food was poor, the kids pizza was a Chicago Town one, one of the worst ham, egg and chips we've ever had and the grease from the eggs made the ham really greasy. Obviously use cheap ingredients, will definitely not return.

What a beautiful place the service was excellent the food was lush and the room fab, so thank you all for a lovely stay and we will be back.

A lovely pub that serves good food. The accommodation was nice, clean and had everything you need. Breakfast has a good selection too. The staff were all welcoming and very nice.

Down stairs ladies toilets are not the best often no loo roll an hand towels all over floor obviously not checked very often, scruffy an need of decorating.

Our family has recently had a very tragic loss, so I wasn't sure how to celebrate my youngest son's 9th birthday. As a friend of mine was staying at The Weary Friar, I decided to ring up to book for a family meal, I explained that we'd all had a very difficult time and that we just wanted to make it nice for my son. On arrival to the meal I was absolutely stunned that the staff had put up banners, balloons, table decorations, party poppers — the works! It looked absolutely incredible and meant more than they'll ever know. So the biggest thank you to the very kind and thoughtful staff at this pub, you gave us a lovely memory to treasure in the toughest month of our life. The food was lovely and the attention to detail spot on. I can't recommend this place more highly.

My husband and I have just spent two nights here so explore the local area and go to the Eden Project. We have thoroughly our stay! We dined in for the two nights (steak cooked to perfection and mushroom stroganoff on the Friday and perfect steak again and hunters chicken on the Saturday) and ate the lot! The cooked breakfast was also great, the rooms clean and comfortable and the staff lovely. We will definitely be coming back! Thank you Ryan and team!

Beautiful small hotel. Fanastically friendly staff. Lovely clean room with ensuite. Great food. You won't be disappointed in this place.

Great for a drink. If you want to eat avoid between three and five in the afternoon as none is served. This is what a typical countryside pub should be.

I enjoyed my night here, they haven't grumbled about my 22 month old twins running up and down lol, so means a lot. Comfy beds, lovely old building, lush brekkie lol plenty of coffee on tap as well, always a bonusxx.

I cant believe I have not eaten here before now. Great pub, lovely atmosphere, great staff (thank you very much to Beth and Molly) food was delicious, the trio of lamb chops were huge had to share with the dog and husband, who also very much enjoyed the lasagna. The fire was roaring (excellent gas flame affect that threw out the heat) Everyone, including the visiting customers and locals were really sociable. Really glad I found this place. We love it!

After visiting friends who live locally, we’ve now visited ‘The Weary Friar’ twice and both times we’ve been very highly impressed. The staff are extremely attentive towards their customers and were very helpful and enthusiastic with the children. They bought out extra toys to keep the children happy and the staff were great! The food and the atmosphere were outstanding as well!
I would very highly recommend this establishment to anyone. Thank you for having us — we can’t wait to come back and visit again. Xxx.

Fantastic food — All x13 of us had a delicious meal, unhurried & lovely atmosphere. The vegetarians amongst the party were very impressed with the choice of food. Very cosy with log fires — very welcoming after travelling in the snow! Would definitely recommend. We will be back.

This place is a must visit we were there 28th January 2016 we were made so welcome and the food is out of this world definitely going back and will be for longer than one night this time made so welcome by all of the staff and locals beautiful location all my family and friends should put this place on a must visit list its so good.
