Excellent and friendly bed and breakfast. We stayed during a business trip and found everything excellent, the room was clean, bed was comfortable, and breakfast was very good. Some rooms have private bathrooms while others need to share, but this is clearly indicated so I'm not sure why anyone would complain. The owner, Laurent, was a very accommodating host and we enjoyed our stay thoroughly, he is also an excellent chef and offers dinner for a reasonable price. This place is perfect for business trips but may not be as suitable for those in the area to party (but who goes to Maidenhead to party…) since the gates are closed at 10:30 PM and quiet hours start at 11 PM.

I had the pleasure staying at The Bakehouse in 4 days in September 2017. Everything was better than You could ever expect — fantastic and very clean room, super individual breakfast served at the time you want and an outstanding Dinner every evening — homecooked by the owner Laurent. I Highly recommend this place!

I stayed at The Bakehouse for two weeks whilst attending the SMAE course. Laurent made me very welcome and I met a lot of interesting other guests. Laurent's food is really good so I recommend you book for dinner too. The room was very comfortable and the bathrooms are spotless. Great location too for the SMAE… Will come back soon for sure.

Very nice place, the owner was very nice and friendly.

I often have to stay in Maidenhead with work. The Bakehouse is usually the first choice. The rooms are clean, the host is friendly, what more does a person need when they are away from home! Prices are very reasonable too.

An excellent balance between warm hospitality and privacy when required. The guest house is impeccably clean with tasteful decor, spacious rooms and Laurent (the host) goes out of his way to make your stay and visit to London as pleasant as possible.

Excellent B&B with a very friendly and welcoming host! Great food, very clean rooms and very nice shower/washing facilities. And for a bit extra you can enjoy very good dinner with a nice glass of wine. I had a great time and I will stay there again when I am in the area.

Top-notch accommodation ideal for solo travelers on business but excellent also for couples like me and my wife, who stayed 3 nights recently at this guest house. The "single" rooms have a queen size bed, and the double ones feature an absolutely comfortable and large king size bed.
Even though it's been open for years, the cleanliness and quality of all rooms, bathrooms and furniture would lead anyone to believe that this is just a brand new establishment.
Moreover, it's frankly the cheapest place I've found in Maidenhead and still it's far better than another guest house where we stayed for the first four nights during our week in Maidenhead.
So, how can "cheapest" and "top-notch" fit in the same review? Where's the trick? The low price can be justified only by a few details, like shared bathrooms (with a shower and not with a bath tub) and fairly small rooms, but again the cleanliness of the bathrooms makes them far better than a lot of en-suite bathrooms in other hotels where anyway hundreds of other guests have stayed before leaving marks not properly cleaned.
Laurent, the owner, manager and person directly taking care of preparing a delicious breakfast and cleaning literally every corner of the guest house, comes from a long experience as a manager in five-star hotels and luxury accommodations.

The Bakehouse is an oasis of excelent food and hospitality. I visit once a month and Laurent the owner makes everyone very welcome, with excelent breakfast, very comfortable bedrooms and spotlessly clean bathrooms. The little extras such as hot water bottle, or my favourite desert with an evening meal make the Bakehouse a home from home.

Spotless rooms and great breakfast. The owner is extremely welcoming and will certainly go out of his way to accommodate your needs. I've not stayed anywhere for this value for money in a good while.
