Really cute hotel, historic building, I chose to stay here for half of my visit and half at the Sheraton, XVA gives you a glimpse into another Dubai, highly recommend. If you like art and nature and mazes and architecture, this is the spot, at least for a night or two, then you can go to the skyscraper fancy place after. Trust me.

Enchanting hotel and art gallery in the old Al Fahidi/Bastakiya area. This is not the usual hotel you can find in Dubai: located in the traffic-free Sikka district, it makes you feel like you just stepped in one of the tales of the Arabian Nights. Each room is decorated in a different way making each stay a surprising one. What I loved especially was 1) the tiny nooks and crannies around each patio where you can lounge outside your room and socialize with other guests, 2) the traditional Emirati breakfast 3) the staff (extremely nice and helpful) 4) the art gallery. If your taxi driver has difficulties in reaching it just tell him to drive to the round about near Al Musallah Post office and stop there (alternatively, mention the Al Fahidi metro Station and head a bit north to said round-about). Highly recommended.

Relaxed atmosphere, once in the area you will see the calmness and arts around you will inspire, nice place to stroll during day in winters, during summers avoid daytime strolls.

Peaceful, quiet, and so much beautiful art, loved the shady allies with the little shops and studios. The food and staff are perfect. We shall come again. Thank you XVA.

Such a nice and tranquil place in the middle of chaotic old Dubai. Take the time to have a look at the art displayed here and enjoy the atmosphere with a little snack.

Fabulous experience in the old City. High service, friendly staff. Breakfast was yummy. We had the Dish Dash room. Lovely and cool.

Amazing architecture and great food. You can stay in their traditional hotel as well though it's costly. Conveniently located in Bastakhiya area next to Dubai museum.

The beauty of the place is in its surroundings. If you are into old souks that feel authentic and quiet little nooks where you can relax and read a nice book, this is the place for you.

Manager contacted me for more details and to offer a return service. The fact that he made the effort shows good customer service and a willingness to improve, so I've added two stars. Hoping to make it 5 when I'm able to go back for another visit. Food was ok. Wait staff was horrible and inattentive. Took forever for anyone to even come take our drink order and we had to ask three people for the bill and we had to hunt them down to settle up. Much better dining options in the immediate area.

Very welcoming and the rooms are fantastic! I’ve been there twice and each room is unique. Their food is amazing as well.

Beautiful, peaceful hidden away in the Al Fahidi heritage area. Very pleasant, calm, quiet with nice themed rooms and interesting building features. This hotel is also an art gallery with some fabulous works within. The breakfast is fabulous and the whole menu extremely healthy. This is a very pleasant place to stay highly recommended.

Authentic old fashioned Dubai experience. This is a art district. Most of the hotels has art galleries. The old town Dubai is in walking distance. The metro is 10 mins walk. The cafe is really good. Lots of good. Low price. Restaurant around. If you want the shine of Dubai this is not place to be.

Very atmospheric hotel, romantic and cosy. Location in the heart of Al Fahidi/Bastakiya district makes it a bit hard to locate, but I guess that's the charm? Taxi driver didn't know this place and I had to navigate for him…

Best place in old Dubai to get the most typical Middle Eastern experience! Great food!

The three stars are more than deserved.
The hotel is located in a very quiet area, old Dubai, where you suddenly feel like you're in a completely different place. However, the nearest metro station is also a little further away, but still within easy walking distance.
The rooms are stylishly furnished, well equipped and fit the rest of the hotel, but they are a bit small.
The breakfast was ok and the staff very friendly. I enjoyed my stay here.

Arriving late at night, we took 50 minutes to find a parking. We parked 10 minutes away by car, and took a taxi. The bathroom door frame kept falling, television receiver worked and stopped working, AC fans were not responding, ac was awful throughout the night, breakfast was very weak, courtyard had one working AC and they had no change for my Dh500. Concept is admirable, everything else needs upkeeping. Very annoyed.

What a gem this place is. It's so distinct from its surroundings you really feel like you've found a hidden treasure. Absolutely loved walking around and taking pictures here. Didn't stay there sadly. We were the only ones there in the smoldering afternoon which made the trip even better.

Unique little hotel situated in the historical district of Dubai, very close to the Dubai museum. Beautiful heritage interior with a warm and relaxed atmosphere. The cafe here also serves up some unique vegetarian options which makes it a great place for a lunchtime stop.

It's a very artistic, exotic hotel with wonderful service. Definitely an oasis in Dubai. Will still be my choice next time I come to Dubai.

I loved it! You will get addicted here if you are a person who loves great and artistic ambiance. Very calm and quite place with great food and service. Amazing people at service too. Really enjoyed being there and always felt like to spend time there again and again.

Great quiet art cafe in the heart of old Dubai.

Gorgeous ambience, individual style we were undecided at first when we realized it was a vegetarian menu but as there was plenty of choice and it was delicious and plentiful. Highly recommend.

Such a different experience to staying in an international chain hotel. Here now. Living it. Would stay again without hesitation. A real gem.

We only got to stay for one night and wish we could have stayed longer. Genuine, friendly staff made this excellent hideaway hotel in Al Fahdi (old Dubai) a pleasure to stay in. The one thing I'd mention is that getting a cab in the morning rush hour is almost impossible; leave very early if you're going to the airport even though it's only a short drive away.
