Very cozy luau and easy parking! Fantastic food, atmosphere and beautiful scenery.

This was a nightmare. Booked one night with points, and the rest at the regular overpriced rate. Noticed continual authorizations on our AMEX card that were not valid. Tried to deal with these people. Totally indifferent. Finally had to get AMEX involved, freeze our card, and still they would not stop with bogus charges. Spoke to fraud today, and the problem is being taken care of by them. By the time we left there were $10, 000 of preauthorizations on this card. For 1 paid night. The “management” is out to lunch, and not helpful. Didn’t care and were rude. Not a fan of Marriott owned properties, and this is just an example. Do people need to pay with cash to assure they are not being cheated. We are gone, and I would not recommend anyone stay at this place.

I have never been so appalled by handling from a "hospitality company". The desk was fine, the bell hop great, cabana boys were wonderful, even the house keepers were good… EVERYTHING else… Just issue after issue. We went for apps and drinks at Lava’s on Poipu Beach. Everything was fine, until shift change. Our new waitress informed us she was pulling a double and finishing with the cabanas. Ok no worries. Well after half an hour she never came back. The sun was glaring in on my 6 month old. We ask the host desk to move to more shade. This was an epic failure apparently. From then on we were completely ignored. No one checked on us for 25 minutes. We asked the waitress in our area if we can at least have some menus. She said I don't know who sat you but you're not my responsibility. She excelerated her attitude, didn't want to serve us. After some back and forth, she finally agreed to bring Menus. At this point I just didn't want my food compromised. I opted to leave. On the way out I stopped at the hostess desk to speak with the manager to provide the feedback… Well epic failure the hostess called the manager and he did not even have the decency or courtesy of meeting me face to face. I relayed the experience that we had just suffered through and in his immediate response was to try and explain away all of their actions… No accountability. No empathy, JUST EXCUSES.

This was a possible once in a lifetime experience with my family and I wouldn’t had wanted to spend it anywhere else. The service was top notch and the grounds and amenities the best on the islands for a resort. Everything you need was at your fingertips.

Best luau on the island! They’ve curated a wonderful immersion into local history coupled with a fabulous meal (one of the best we had) in a smallish gathering of tourists who genuinely enjoyed being together to experience this party! Pre-dinner there are activities for you to try and learn a new skill, shop local artisans, or simply sip on the Mai Tai’s that are readily handed out. Full bar throughout the night, plus so many dinner options most people went for seconds and fun, beautiful dancing, music, and fire show. Well done, Sheraton!

This is a beautiful resort with so many wonderful amenities. The beach pool is the best and you can watch sunrises and sunsets from the property. It's quite comfortable and pleasant!

Cancelled my reservation for 14 nights WHILE WE WERE IN HAWAII. Left us STRANDED during the COVID pandemic. We jumped through all the hoops we were required to do to get there. They didn’t offer to find a different resort. Just left us stranded. Absolutely unacceptable.

We were treated like Royalty! Luau was fantastic it’s been a very long time since we attended one.
Makeo a friend I have made over many visits made us feel very welcome.
I only hope that Kauai isolates it self to keep all the wonderful people safe protected from the insanity of the rest of the United States.
When we can visit again without fear of bringing the virus we will be very happy to bring a few Canadian dollars for the economy.

Amazing stay, great location and associates!

My husband and I stayed here the week of Thanksgiving. This was hands down the best vacation we have ever had! You really cant beat the location of this hotel. The staff is super friendly, the food and drinks are better than any restaurants we went to, and the beach gives you a front row seat to Monk Seals. If you want to get away from the hotel you are walking distance to a lot of great restaurants or get up early and stroll over to Poipu Beach to watch the sea turtles sleep. This place is a dream and we will 100% be back!

Worst resort yet. My stay was horrible. They put us in a one bedroom/studio as requested. One morning at 8 am. I thought we were in a war zone. There were loud banging, heavy grinding that shook the floor. Smell of gas was coming into our room. Found out they were renovating all of the floor below us. Had to go to the front desk and demanded new rooms. I asked how do you put people in rooms that will be impacted by heavy construction. All they said was it’s beyond their control as far as when they would do construction. REALLY!
The rooms were tiny, especially the bathrooms. The layout was strange too. Bathroom on one side and bedroom on the other. No dining table. Will not be coming back.

Perfect for a get away. Close to great food. 2 great options in the resort (Lavas and RumFire). Lavas:great bar, RumFire: awesome dinner setting, great food.

Good location. Bath room need updated. I don’t like the way hotel rooms layout. It’s looks like motel not classic hotel as expected. It’s flooded in the lobby every time it’s rained. Front desk need to be a little more friendly. House keepers are nice. I won’t be return to this hotel in the future.

Worked in travel years ago and had always wanted to go to the Sheraton Kauai. 25+ years later we made it there and loved every minute of our stay. Our room was in the recently renovated Ocean Wing and was beautiful. Staff were helpful, ate at the two restaurants and thoroughly enjoyed both meals. The pina colada’s were very tasty
Look forward to going back again, and again.

We were on vacation, got an Ocean View room and man was it amazing! The view was gorgeous, watching the sunset from our lanai left me speechless every time! I only wish that they had screens so that we could have slept with the door open to the lanai but there were lots of bugs flying around and I did get bit by a couple mosquitos that got into the room. Beds were very comfortable. Bathtub was huge and hot water comes out right away. The maid was really nice and the guys doing Valet service were nice as well.

We visited paradise in August, only to be greeted with the sound of non-stop drilling, which apparently goes on from 8 in the morning to 5 in the afternoon every single weekday. They have a major construction project going on there, and it's something they did not tell us about before we came. And there was little they did to help us deal with it. They did offer us a room on the other side of the resort for an extra $250+ per night. Or the option to drive to their other property, which is on the other side of the island — an hour-and-a-half away — also for more money each night. They ended up giving us $50 in food credit, but refused to do anything else. They didn't reduce the price of the room. They didn't take off the ridiculous resort fee. And they refused to do anything that might give us a reason to be understanding of the inconvenience, and willing to come back in the future. Very disappointed with that part of our stay. Our peace came when we left the Sheraton, and went elsewhere for as many hours as we could each day.

We stayed in the garden rooms and the view was great from the 3rd building (we see the garden and parts of the ocean). Our stay was during the hurricane Lane watch. The customer service of this hotel is amazing. They moved our room when we asked (to be closer to the restaurants in case it rained a lot), everyone was helpful with questions, food service, and room service. I will plan on returning to this hotel asap.

Go ahead… book your trip. Wake up on your first day of vacation at 7:15AM to the sound of construction equipment! The heart of Hawaiian serenity. Even better, when you come back to your hotel room and realize that utensils were not included with your takeout, call for service. This world class resort will tell you that they are sorry but there is no way that they could possibly help you with a spoon… at 9:45pm. Everyone here is nice and friendly… but their management is not interested in serving you — they are interested in the profits that will be gained from their future guests. I suggest that you should be one of them (not one of their current guests). Sheraton Kauai is so close to being paradise but so far away from being good. Don’t stay here.

Please read** My experience here. I read all the reviews before booking this stay and I say all the reviews are correct, this was by far my worst stay at a Sheraton resort. Kauai is such a beautiful island and this hotel is by the water which is great but thats all it offers, for the money that people spend at this place this was an absolute rip off and I think this resort needs a major face lift. My biggest issue is when I booked a garden view I got its being built and a new Sheraton is coming. Lucky me I was only staying the night there and was able to stay with other friends at way better hotels and resorts. If you're like me and book hotels for quality in price this is not it at all for this place and I will never stay here again and I would hope this review makes those who are thinking about staying here more fearful of staying at this place. There's much better options all over the island that offer much better.

Our trip to Kauai was to celebrate our 11th wedding anniversary and the Sheraton Kauai absolutely exceeded our expectations. We are already making plans to return again, ASAP! From the minute you step onto the property, they are there to answer any question and satisfy every request. The entire property is breath taking and the level of dedication to their guest is second to none. The staff were super and the room was excellent. They have a couple of restaurants on the resort (Rum Fire and Lava's) and both are a fine dining experience with a view to match! The food is excellent and the service is top notch. The rooms are very nicely appointed and the island will leave you breathless. Recommended for visitors of all ages. You will not be disappointed by the island or the resort!

Beautiful property with amazing views. Our ocean front room was heaven. Everyone was extremely helpful and nice. We sat on our balancing every morning and evening to takenin the views. Our bed was beyond comfortable. I slept like a baby. Convenient location. We went to all areas of the island and south shore was our favorite. I did a load of laundry in the guest laundromat and it messed up our clothes. Management took care of the issue immediately and our clothes was professionally cleaned and perfect. We are at RumFire and it was the best meal I’ve ever had. The wine, Avalon Chardonnay, was paired perfect with the paella. I am sad to leave today. It’s been the most amazing experience for me and my husband.

Awful rooms super small and lots of construction! Cock roaches and a bathroom that is atrocious! Full not queen beds. Good thing we are only staying 2 days. Cancelled my last 2 and found a less expensive better room in the same area! Not impressed with Sheraton and I was not the only one complaining at the front desk.

Our second time staying here. Fantastic resort. There is construction noise across the street from the original resort during the week but when finished will make an expanded report even better. You cannot hear noise at beach and only happens during normal working hours.

We can't wait to go back to Kauai, so we can stay here. It is in a perfect location. The property is in really nice conditions. The amenities seem unreal. The pool area was really nice. There were a couple different bars/restaurants right on the beach. The luau was AMAZING. This is a truly special place. Can't wait to stay here!

Worst SPG property by far. If you want a ruined vacation then stay here. Management is not receptive and could care less about your SPG status rather it Gold or Platinum. Rooms are a dump unless you want to add onto the $400/night “garden view” (which is really parking lot view or construction view) for another $169/night they would be happy to put you in an upgraded room. How about taking care of your loyal SPG customers instead of dumping them in the flea bag of a motel that is on par with a Motel 6 across the street. The carpet in the room was so dirty we couldn’t even take our shoes off. Bugs everywhere in the room and the bathroom countertop was falling apart. What a joke — when I told the manager all he said was “sorry, but there is nothing I can do. ”. How about a clean room? How about a room worthy of the price?! So frustrating to deal with the people who work here. If you want to spend close to $500/night then do yourself a favor and go to the Grand Hyatt. You will actually enjoy your vacation that way. If you want to dump your money and or points down the toilet then this property would be happy to help. Truly disappointed and disgusted with the level of customer service especially for preferred customers.

Shameful, room with life on "Garden" result seen on a noisy and dusty construction site. I had to make a room change that cost 560, 000. The staff was shocked that this view and this noise bothers me…

Beware poorly advertised resort fee of 31$ per day even if paying with points! Fantastic beach! Great places to sit and watch the sunset. The happy hour at lava was pretty good. Luau is right by the beach, so you can watch the show even if you aren't in the luau. Rooms are very nice with great views (even the garden views can see the ocean) but it's weird that there are like no outlets to plug stuff in. Staff is very nice. Hotel was booked, so was unable to give me late checkout, even with gold status.

Absolutely beautiful. We spent the extra for an ocean view room and were not at all disappointed. The young woman who checked us in was very considerate and offered a different room if we preferred because ours had two queens. We were SO glad we kept the one on the quiet end with the beautiful view. Location was great, concierge super helpful and accommodating, and the breakfast options were varied and very good. The pool was relatively small, but large enough. All in all an absolutely wonderful vacation, worth ever penny.

Great choice for a hotel in Kauai. I stayed there for a week. King size ocean from room was a perfect choice. Location on the quiet side of the island yet not far away from the shopping area. Amazing beach and pool. Love to go there again.

It's a good location, but we got put in a room across the street from the main building and it feels like a converted motel room with a nicer bed. It's basically the same room we had paying $100/night at our previous hotel, so we were hoping for something better from the Sheridan. It's clear on the website where the garden room is, but I'd just expect a nicer room booking with the Sheridan. We actually did have a bit of an ocean view across the street, which was nice. Pool is nice and beach access is great. We just didn't end up using this much since snorkeling isn't great here (go up the road to where boss frogs is for good snorkeling even if conditions are a bit rough). Overall I'm rating it low because if the price and the name that would lead you to expect better. Book elsewhere if you can.

I was married here so I may be a little partial in my rating. The food at Rum Fire and Lavas is excellent and the service is great. You are right on the beach and the sunset views are excellent. There luau is ok, typical for a hotel but it's one of the better hotel luaus on the island. The rooms are being renovated and updated. They have little convenience store called The Link that sells souvenirs as well as drinks and pastries and a few food items.

The hotel is within walking distance of several restaurants and waterfront areas for sunset watching.

Beautiful location situated on a lovely beachfront and very nice pool and resort amenities / activities. Enjoyed a very nice meal at Rum Fire restaurant at the hotel. Worth noting that there is construction work which impacts upon some rooms in the resort.

Beautifully set on Poipu beach, Kauai, the Sheraton has an upscale, yet welcoming atmosphere. Wide, spacious breezeways with ocean views, lots of comfortable seating groups, some around bonfires for chilly evenings. Staff is very committed to guest comfort. Only downside was during our visit, they were undergoing renovations. Highly recommend this hotel!

Among the three sheratons I have stayed in in Hawaii (Maui and Ohau) is the least beautiful. Very nice and well taken care of, instead the common parts. Swimming pool with slides and beach in rocky part on which you can spot the rare Hawaiian seal.

The most beautiful place in the environment but the tax management fees that are paid for in-house. I think there's a little bit more to pay attention to before you make a reservation.

Was offered an upgrade halfway through stay which I appreciated but didn't make it (logistically). Terrible Wi-Fi.

I had a perfect sunrise and a Sunset View. The hotel was situated in the right spots. I was able to explore the different areas to the West the East and the North of the island. The concierge was very helpful as well. She was able to answer most of my questions when I needed to go somewhere.

This place was amazing! We stayed here for the past 8 days for our honey moon and the staff were amazing and helpful! They offer you a free bottle of champagne, white or red wine and a $20 credit towards their coffee and gift shop which I thought was so nice of them. You are also greeted with a shell lei. The place was spotless and because we had a late flight we were more than welcome to stay for the day while they kept our luggage in a room for us until we were ready to leave. They also offered us the hospitality room which allowed us to shower or freshen up if we needed to. The fitness center is also opened 24 hours which was a bonus too. My only negative thing to say is they don't have a spa. They have a canopy with two beds where you and whoever you are with can have a massage but that was the limit they had for spa options. I'm sure if I asked they might have more information for me but I didn't. We would recommend this hotel for anyone. Whether you are spending it with family or just with some adults.

We chose to give this rating because of poor accommodations. I had requested a king bed but was assigned a room with two twin sized beds. My husband and I were very uncomfortable is this room option. When we asked for any compensation for this, we were offered just a one time $25 credit to our stay. While we appreciate there was some compensation, we do not feel it was enough. The property also seems a bit disjointed. We were in a room across the street from the main lobby and activities area. This made it inconvenient to access most of the resort. Honestly, we will not plan to stay at this hotel in the future. We had friends staying nearby at Koloa Landing who had far better amenities and a resort set up.

Was really excited for our stay at the Sheraton as it was the most expensive place we stayed during our 10 day stay. It’s a beautiful hotel on the south shore with beautiful grounds beach front. Paid $300 for a “delux” ocean front room with a king size bed and ended up with a room that had two FULL size beds. Absolutely ridiculous. What full grown adults fit on a full? And for $300, BS. We asked for a change but didn’t get one. I feel ripped off as this has been the most uncomfortable night we have had yet after sleeping in king size, ocean front beds for the past week. So disappointed and pissed off. I understand two queens… but for this price I’d rather have a refund. If I had know that we would potentially be getting two full size beds instead of a king or even queen, I would not have booked. Not to forget to mention that we had to wait a half hour past check in for our room to be ready. Worst experience we had yet for a place we thought would be special for my birthday. Would have rather stayed at kauai shores hotel where the beach was 20 steps out our door and the staff were friendly.

Our stay was split between 2 rooms, a garden view double and garden view king. The staff was very helpful helping us transition from one room to another. Beautiful property with great beach access. The Lava bar and restaurant has a nice happy hour and also serves up some delicious non-alcoholic options.

This is a very nice resort on the southern Poipu beach of Kauai. It is beautifully landscaped and has lagoon style pools and two nice beach view restaurants. The fantastic sandy beach is one of the best on the island. It offers good snorkelling and surfing. They also have less expensive garden view rooms with a gorgeous view of another pool and their meticulously maintained tropical gardens. I have heard these rooms are in the process of being renovated, to bring them up to date. This is pretty much a full service resort, with a helpful concierge service to help you get the most out of your vacation on Kauai. Will definitely stay there again!

This is a nice hotel and resort. The rooms are comfy and everything works. The pool bungalows are worth the $100 and staff were very attentive. We stayed in a garden room. The carpets near the room entrance could use a steam cleaning, and for some reason housekeeping never replaced our shampoo and conditioner. We had to hunt down a houseeling cart every day to get some.

The room is very comfortable, the staff is very friendly, courteous, and accommodating. The view is out of this world. The food is pricey but delicious. I would recommend the Sheraton to relax, and enjoy.

Fantastic resort set right on Poipu beach, generally tailored towards couples and romantic getaways. Two great bar/restaurants located within the resort open til approx 8 and 10 respectively. Concierge on site can help with activity planning and booking. Free self parking or valet service. I was on my honeymoon with my wife and was given a complimentary bottle of wine, a box of Hawaiian Macadamia nuts and a discount voucher to Lava's restaurant on site. Can't speak highly enough of the staff, location and food.

Sheraton Kauai was a lovely choice for our honeymoon. The views from our rooms two balconies are of the beach & beach + pool. Very tropical style accommodations, you'll feel like you are living in paradise. Our rooms are very clean and the service is friendly. We arrived earlier than check in time and they watched our bags while we went to eat then texted us when our room was ready, which was earlier than their regular check in time. We had a view of the luau from our room as well. We will be back once we have the vacation time at work!

The hotel is located in a great area, right on the beach! The resort was nice with an excellent restaurant on property and nice pool. However, the rooms were a bit under par. Unfortunately, we were assigned a room with two twin (or maybe double? ) beds instead of the one king bed we reserved… and this was our honeymoon! In speaking with other couples, this seemed to be a problem throughout the hotel — we assume it was due to some construction. The rooms were kind of small and not very nice, but they all had balcony views and we weren't in the room that often, so it didn't really matter. My husband thinks the continental breakfast buffet at the Sheraton was actually the best breakfast we had throughout our entire stay in Hawaii!

It started with the valet ignoring us for several minutes then telling us to leave the keys in it and walking away. Then when checking in we were told our reservation for a King bed was not available and we were placed in a room with 2 double beds. They told us to come back and check every day to see if they could honor our reservation for a King bed. They were able to accommodate us on our second day. While out for the day, room service reorganized our clothes and personal effects for seemingly no reason. The staff was not rude but they were not friendly either. When asking questions at the front desk we felt as though we were inconveniencing them. Great location but we will find another hotel on Kaua'i for our next trip.

When we initially arrived they put us in the wrong room and couldn't get in the right room until the next day. They moved all our luggage for us to our new room. The location is fantastic and the restaurants on premises are amazing. The rest of the amenities are awesome as well. Their rooms are pretty outdated and could use some renovations but they do have air conditioning. I would probably stay here again if given the opportunity.

Great location, great beach. I really liked our garden view room. I thought it was quieter than the ocean view rooms which overlooks the pool and one of the restaurants so are much louder. Good size and very clean. Sure there a few dings in the furniture and tub but at the end of the day, the location is perfect, free parking, nice pool, comfortable beds, nice amenities like robes in the bedroom. I would stay here again.

Not a warm welcome. Only one staff at check in, so had to wait in line. No welcome drink after a very long journey and arriving late at night. No assistance with baggage from front of house staff. We had to lug our own bags across the road, up stairs and a lift to our room in a really large resort. Off to a bad start having to get maintenance in to provide a working shower. Our day had started at 3am for flights with transfers so having to wait until midnight to have a shower was frustrating to say the least. Then no hot water on the third day. No information provided (map etc) in room of what was available nearby. No shuttle provided from what I could gather. Fortunately for Sheraton we only came to relax by the pool and on the beach for four days. Would I recommend? Probably not.

Excellent service and amenities. Rum Fire is delicious; Noel was our server and he was amazing. Mark and Paulie at Lavas were phenomenal bartenders; so kind and friendly. A fantastic choice if you are visiting Kauai.

The location is great and has a great swim area for adults. Kids may struggle at the beach because of the waves but most do fine near shores. Why 3 stars? We ordered an oceanfront room… As you can see by one of the pictures, it is an ocean view/pool view but they call it an oceanfront room. The Sheraton Kauai needs to change this deceptiveness as it is not what people pay extra for. I did call to complain a few times and they finally resolved it within a couple of hours. They did redeem themselves with friendly service, good restaurants, and a freshen up room for late flights.

Went to enjoy a cabana at the pool, had a few drinks and appetizers from Lavas, as well as dinner at RumFire. It was all a great and awesome experience. Especially the manager Sheri that I interacted with from Lavas. She was very helpful and provided top notch service. Definitely deserving of a 5 star rating. Would definitely come here again for vacation!

The bathroom in our room was the oldest and dirtiest bathroom found so far in the states. Beautiful common parts, restaurants and breakfasts of very low level.

This place has an amazing pool that's not freezing cold, but warm and nice. They are also located near many places perfect for tourists. The room is a bit small but has amazing service. Outside during the night is actually really bright, because of fires that they use as lights. They also have excellent gift shops where I was able to buy some Aloha t-shirts as a souviner. Finally the chickens are everywhere and are very cute to see them just walk around.

The grounds were very nice and we had a great room in building 8 (garden wing) facing the pool. It's a decently large complex but getting around it isn't difficult at all. The main beach pool was a little small for the size of the resort, but still somehow it wasn't ever that crowded there and we didn't have any problems getting lounge chairs. Rented a beach Cabana one of the days (tip: if you book at 1pm or later, it's only 30 instead of 50 for full day, so if you're close to the 1pm cutoff, it's worth the wait). They've got boogie boards, snorkel, etc for rent and sale at the pool activity center, along with beach towels. Drinks at Lava's was good, and not as expensive as some other resorts like the Hyatt.

Was there May 2016. VERY disappointed. We booked a King bed w/garden view and ended up with a double full size bed with a view of a parking lot and a tree. The room was very small and the bathroom was so small we had to almost step in the tub to close the door. We were there to celebrate our 25th anniv and felt the staff was not friendly or helpful when we stated our issues with the room location. The prices in the Lava and Rum Fire were crazy expensive for the quality, however the resort was very close to a shopping village that had much better places to eat. We will never stay at a Sheraton hotel again.

We loved our recent stay but… for two straight days we had to call to ask for our room to be made up. On the first occasion it really messed up our dinner plans because we couldn't shower. We got an email asking how the stay was and I told them the same but of course never heard from anyone. That's pretty typical these days. Overall, however, a nice hotel in a great spot.

If I could post 100 stars I would. This place was Heaven on Earth! From the moment we arrived we were treated like royalty. The resort is extremely clean and everything you need is right there! The staff is AMAZING! We didn't come into contact with anyone who was not wonderful. There were a few people who made our stay even better: Joshua Stone, he is a waiter at both Rum Fire and Lava! What an amazing asset to this resort. My husband and I actually would go in on nights that we knew he was there and wait for him if he was busy because he was such a delight to our evenings. He was soknowledgeable with everything on the menu. He was such a genuine man with a heart of gold. We know that God led a hand in placing Joshua in our lives just when we needed him the most. He goes above and beyond and truly made a notch in our hearts! Matt (Front Desk Manager). Wow! What a great guy. He made sure that we were given the best of the best care. Very efficient and kind. We felt that he truly cares about everyone of the guests at the resort. Jasmine (waitress at Lava) we were so pleased with the service that Jasmine gave us on several occasions. She has a personality that just makes you feel you have known her forever. Her knowledge with the menu helped us be able to make great food decisions and we felt as though she truly wanted us to enjoy every second of our trip. Nate (Waiter at lava) Nate is a new employee there and when he came to our bungalow after days of having Jasmine.

Awesome view and hospitality. It has only been 1 day 5 more to go! Looking forward to it! The Poki appetizers at The Lava are to die for!

The staff was very friendly and helpful, no complaints there. The room was nice enough, also no major complaints. I was just underwhelmed by the "resort" component. Sure they have a pool, but they seating is limited, with slim pickings if you want a shady spot. And's it's very competitive for those spots. Guests are allowed to put "mark their spot" at 8am and not show up to the pool until 1pm for the best seats, which is very annoying. It all worked out for the best, as this encouraged us to leave the resort and explore the rest of the island in detail. If you want more of a "resort" feel, I'd suggest the Grand Hyatt just down the road.

This is a nice resort. The rooms are nice, and they upgraded usbto the delux garden view (no ocean views available for upgrades) which was 100 square feet bigger than the standard room, but it wasn't even that huge, so I cant imagine what the regular rooms are like. There aren't a ton of restaurants nearby, which is kind of a bummer, but we haven't found many decent priced and good restaurants on the whole island. The pool here is a big "meh", but the beach is nice.

Location is fabulous. Rooms could use an update, but service is warm and friendly + the resort is a good value overall. Don't miss social hour for spg members: views are great! Post sunset relaxation around the fire pits is charming, too.

I felt that the room and the resort services were awesome. We took one look at the breakfast buffet and yelped our way to a small cafe. Asking $30 for heat lamp eggs and soggy french toast was a blemish on an otherwise wonderful resort experience.

This is one of the best hotels/resorts I've stayed in. I booked a garden view room by points. Upon arrival, my room was not yet ready, so the staff kindly told me they would call me as soon as my room got ready. Not too long later, I got a call letting me know I could get back and check in. Then, I got another call telling me my room was upgraded to ocean view because I was a SPG member, FOR FREE! I was so blessed to enjoy this entirely free stay at Sheraton Kaua'i, a place you could call the real paradise. The room was very clean and the staff were super friendly. The ocean view was gorgeous especially during sunset. There was a $30 resort charge for the pools, equipment, concierge, parking, tote bag, bottles of water, and a bunch of freebies throughout the resort. I wouldn't mind staying here again, as long as my SPG points could get me here in the future. Overall, if you'd afford staying at this resort at a decent rate, you'd enjoy every penny you'd spent. Best for award stays.

Ok we stayed 2 years ago but I was reminiscent of my dream vacation and looked up some stuff and came across the reviews. We didn't have any cockroaches in our room and why is everyone bitching about resort this and that. You are on a beautiful island go explore. Ya the place is expensive it's freaking Hawaii, everything is expensive…

Excellent rooms with sea views. Beds spacious and well-equipped rooms. Breakfast very complete. Parking next to the room. High prices.

Our ocean-view room was awesome. What a view to start off the day. And a perfect spot in the evening to watch the boogie boarders and surfers. And then to take in the beautiful sunsets. Definitely will be back.

We spent our 25th Anniversary at the Sheraton in Kauai and the Executive Chef (Chef Michael) at the RumFire made us a great dessert with a bottle of Champagne. Great atmosphere at the Sheraton in Kauai with all the very nice people who make your stay at the Sheraton enjoyable.

I am amazed at the good reviews for this hotel… we have stayed here before for a few days before heading to the north shore… this is the WORST hotel I have ever stayed in and I have stayed in many… the staff is rude, the rooms stink and NO ONE is helpful, cockroaches, mice, flies, you name it they have it… if you complain the get nasty… this will be the last stay here ever. The beach location is the only thing going for it, and that isn't worth it. Beware!

Breathtaking views, quick and easy access to just about everything you need, staff is very friendly and extremely helpful! Food / drinks are good, prices are about the same at every resort, but there are plenty of local places nearby to explore. Was worried about the parking but stayed a week and never had a problem. Definitely making plans to come back and bring the rest of the ohana! AloHa!

We planned on staying one night but it was so nice and everyone is so friendly we stayed a week. They offer alot of fun and free activities. I took a hawaiian language class with Anthony and it was awesome. Na Mahalo nui Sheraton kauai resort. We also have a dog with us and he has been treated like royalty and why only 5 star this place is a class act with over the top service. I give them 10 stars!

Why are we paying a resort fee for amenities that are a given when staying at a resort? I will be avoiding resorts like this one that tack on extra fees when you check out. Vrbo's in the future. Live and learn.

Nice Hotel with an amazing Pool and Beach Area. But you see that the last make up is far away. Don't go to the building 4 or 5, because the generator building is working all the day, and it is loud. Our service was always good and when you need help, they will help. And the self parking area is very big and near, big plus point. All in all, a good performance but it could be perfect with a couple of little improvements.

This hotel needs a make over the room are old AC do not work. The food are crazy way over price. The WORST thing about this place is the receptionist/concierge to be specific an employee name KATHY she doesnt know the meaning of costumer service. Somebody has to tell this girl that the costumer are the one paying her salary. This hotel make money so they can pay the employee and how is that " well its because of us paying costumer" TO MANAGEMENT PLEASE PUT THIS GIRL SOMEWHER ELSE LIKE CLEANING THE TOILET WHERE SHE DONT DEAL WITH COSTUMERS. Or a even a better idea hire someone else that know what costumer service is. Shes a liar she give us the wrong room and when we asked to get the room that we book. She told us that the hotel is sold out for the week. We paid and book our vacation 5 months ahead of time to reserve the room and your telling me that you dont have our room. So the next day we talk to another conceirge and guess what they have a room available are you kidding me. Kathy is lazy, liar and a rude person Please get rid off this person bad for business. You guys will lose costumer because of this person. So for all the poeple out their looking for a nice vacatioin in kauai search other places.

Good location with beautiful ocean views and quick beach access. Pool is small. Restaurant is good for breakfast. Quick drive to nearby shopping center. The rooms need updating (low popcorn ceiling, worn out carpet) and for the price I paid for the ocean front room I would choose a higher end hotel.

Everyone was great. Rooms are clean and nice. Garden view room are great for the money but we upgraded to Ocean front View. We also ate at local locations and enjoyed some of the fair. Breakfast is a buffet style and is pretty good overall. I'd give the breakfast buffet a 3.5 to 4 stars and the Mai Thai cocktails about 3.5 I've had better. Overall nice place to stay with nice beach and nice grounds. This place is to relax and use as a base to shoot off to the west side of island and such. I can't complain. After Ohau and working this is just what I needed. Would. I stay here agian? Yes but nut until I explore other areas. PS surf is up and if you know how to handle a stick it would be worth the effort.

The only reason I'm giving it a two is because of the view and Joseph the concierge has been nice. Everything else has been horrible. Poor customer service; unfriendly; extremely rude and intimidating staff; not worth your money.

Customer service was poor. Expected so much more from the Sheraton and unfortunately they did not deliver. We did not feel welcome from the valet to the check in front desk. Not the experience we hoped for on our honeymoon. Definitely not worth the $$. One positive — the young man at the concierge desk did a great job to help us plan our activities. Definitely had the aloha spirit that the rest of the staff were missing.

Big let down on this hotel, first from arrival no aloha spirit for the employees that are at the entrance to the front lobby, didn't feel welcomed and for a hotel like this I expected more, very few of the employees provide great customer service only the house keepers were very nice and friendly, parking is terrible not enough parking, and nothing to do nearby so terribly location to explore the island so the location is very bad. Don't over pay for just the brand. Kaapa and lihue are better locations to explore the island and more options to eat, shop and night life. Will not recommend this hotel to anyone and won't come back.

The reviews had me worried but it was for naught. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. The room was comfortable and clean. I had a garden view room and it was peaceful and the view lovely. I had an amazing time. If they had a small convenience store it would be perfect.

Small boring hotel. They are cheap too they make you sign a card before giving you beach towels and they charge you $10 per towel if you lose your towel.

We had book the deluxe Ocean Front Room which was good, But the service at the hotel was really worst. We went for HoneyMoon and it was the worst day for both of us. The staff is really rude (Not All) specially when we ask the front desk guy 'Vince' (Date:08/27/2014) like where are more parking spots and he replied very rudely that its there and you are not doing Valet parking so go by yourself. Also the Girl 'Cristy' from SPG was good but she gave a tour of Starwood which I wont recommend anyone who are visiting there for 2 days and also specially for honeymoon. The Startwood program was supposed to start from morning 8:30 to 9:30 but it went to like 1PM we forcing them to go then also. They messed up our plan for north shore drive which we were supposed to go that morning.

I booked this vacation very fast. Without doing any research, or checking reviews, before I paid in full. Almost $12, 000 non-refundable. Needless to say after reading some of the previous reviews I was mortified that I had made a huge mistake, and I expected the worst. What I found was a beautiful property. It was peaceful and quiet, with incredibly pristine grounds. Both garden and beach. The rooms were fine. Not exactly clean, but the balcony on the beach was worth giving up a few creature comforts for. We had three rooms, and our share of cockroaches, two rooms had a couple here and there, and one room was infested. They were dropping from the canopy, making sleeping less than comfortable, but you are in the tropics, and everything is open, so I don't know how you get around the issue. I choose to ignore it. I also felt that the resort fee was excessive, simply because you pay for everything separate, from the cabanas to lounges on the beach, and the pool isn't exclusive, non-guests can pay to use it as well. Every time we turned around we were being charged for something, but I expected it. Our 7 day vacation was very pricey, but it was so beautiful, and I loved the location, and I would stay here again based on the location and the beauty of the property. I would be specific and ask for building 1, and request a higher floor.

I must say that I read some reviews before coming to the Sheraton and was a little worried. After staying here I'm so glad that I decided to give it a try. It has the best location, staff was amazing, and the ocean front is a must. Dinner at the RumFire was little pricey but I had the best steak I've ever eaten so it was worth it. We had a couple of bugs in our room but we are on a tropical island so it's expected. I came with my mom and want to thank the Sheraton for the best experience that we could have ever asked for. We will be back.

I spent 1 night here on my stay in Kauai, and found this hotel to be nice, but not memorable. The property is rather big, and spread out with one side along the shore, and the rest of the hotel across the street. I imagine the walk to the beach would be quite long if your room is on the end of the property across the street. The rooms are a bit dated, and the parking situation is somewhat confusing, as there is parking on both sides of the street and its not well signed. The hotel is on the south side of the island and it makes for a great place to watch the sunrise. As an SPG Platinum member, I was provided an upgrade and the standard benefits, which include free valet parking, and breakfast. Overall, a pleasant, but not memorable stay.
