Bait-and-switch pricing. Unclean rooms. Broken elevator. In July 2018, I stayed at the Wyndham Ramada at the Portland airport. Prior to my travel, I looked the price up on Expedia then called the Ramada directly. They offered me the same price, but with a much better cancellation rate. I accepted and made the reservation. After a tiring flight, I arrived at the airport Ramada in the evening and waited patiently in a very long line. At this point I learned that the price of the room was not what I was quoted, but was higher. I was told if I didn’t like it, I could just leave. It was very late for me and I was very tired so I agreed. When I was finally checked in, only then did they tell me the building had no elevator – he actually LIED, the elevator was BROKEN. I am elderly and cannot walk up stairs and the manager knew that when he made the reservation. They looked for another room for me and checked me in. The room was dirty and had not been cleaned. Went to the front desk and had to wait again until a different front desk clerk (who was wonderfully nice despite being very busy) gave me a second room. This room had not been cleaned yet either. Back to the front desk, more waiting, and I got a 3rd room. Nearly 2 hours after my arrival, I was able to go to sleep in a clean room. After my stay, I tried to speak with the manager to discuss it. He never responded despite my phone message to him. At that point, I disputed the charges with my credit card company, and they refunded the difference in the bait-and-switch pricing. Do not stay here.
