Management is charging unauthorized fees!

Room was fine… hotel was nearly empty due to COVID and a snow storm. However, we booked through a booking. Com site and were never told of the room deposit until after it was charged to our card at check in, and then were charged again during their night audit, overdrawing our account and leaving us with no way to feed our kids. And of course it will take 3-5 business days for the money to come back. No apologies, no attempts to make it right, and a warning from the staff (and paper napkins provided, thankfully) that the owner will and does charge if there are sauce stains on the towels. Watch your credit cards closely.

Make sure to monitor your card for false charges after staying here! Not only did we not get room services during a two night stay, but when we took our towels up to exchange for fresh ones the woman at the front desk, who I believe is the owner, very rudely and threateningly stated she hoped a dirty sport on one of the towels wasn’t a stain. I had actually noticed that the towels had picked up dust of the floor of our room (which was very dirty), which I explained to her. We were refused clean towels and when we checked out we were chastised for not returning to get them at a later time. She did not mention any stains then. Two days after checking out we get a charge for $38.26 without any notification from them. When we called and asked the same woman was working and she was so rude it was unbelievable. Read more reviews and you’ll see more stories of this places poor business ethics and thievery. Stay at your our risk people and good luck staying in business operating like this Comfort Inn!

I stayed one night on 8/3/18 to attend a memorial service that was being held nearby and I woke up in the middle of the night to use the potty and as I came back around the bed to get back in my leg slammed into the exposed bed frame. The bed frame had collapsed while I was sleeping. I am not a large person at all so this was extremely upsetting. I notified the front desk and all they said was "Oh do you want a bandaid" because the frame had cut my leg open. I had to go to the memorial with my leg all bandaged up and everyone asking what I had done to myself. I let everyone know exactly where I had stayed and to steer clear from that hotel. On top of that incident, we had asked at check-in if there was a good working elevator as I am disabled and have a difficult time with walking and stairs are extremely hard. Thet failed to inform me that they had a scheduled maintenance the next morning on the elevator and that the elevator would be down, so I had to take stairs to eat breakfast and haul luggage for me and my 3 kids down 3 flights of stairs. Due to that I had a horrible flare up in my body for several days after. I will never refer anyone there again. Worst experience ever. And the counter staff were very rude as well. It was a burden when we asked for Towels for our room so we could shower after swimming in the pool that made our clothes stink afterwards. This is really a low class hotel for the money! I really recommend staying elsewhere!

Absolutely furious! We have stayed here 3x in the past years and this time makes me never want to return! We arrived at 2:55pm, 5 minutes before their website stated 3pm check in time. Our room was not cleaned yet and it hadn’t even been started! So we went to check out the pool and hot tub. Tons of hair was floating in the pool and there was something floating in the hot tub. I told the guy at the front desk who just happened to be the maintenance man and he asked me if I would like him to run the slimmer through it… no sir I would like to swim in someone else’s hair! Yes! Of course I would like you to clean it! He then responds with it gets cleaned every other day. REALLY?! Brittany the manager told us it would be 15 minutes, 35 minutes later the cleaner lady told us it was ready! I asked for the manager who happened to also be the front desk agent and she told us there isn’t anything she could do so I needed to call Choice Hotels who I made the reservation through. I told her I wanted corporates phone number, she ol e hey privately owned and she it allowed to give out the number. After 2 different calls and 53 minutes of being on hold I was told the manager of the hotel is responsible for any refunds and or compensation. Brittany the manager said she would not refund my charges because it’s past the 48 hour cancellation period! I told her to call the owner and have them call me. I have yet to receive a call!

Kind of hard to find, nice establishment and clean though, close to freeway.

I needed a place late at night and decided to try the Comfort Inn in Tumwater. The room was large and very clean. It was also extremely quiet. That being said the main reason why I will come back to the comfort and it's because of the front desk staff. Morris Jefferson did an excellent job in answering my questions and making me feel comfortable. He was very personable and professional. I am not a AAA member but he was kind enough to give me a discount for AARP. Nice job Morris. Brian H traveling north from San Luis Obispo California.

Excellent service (Katie especially is our favorite lady here, she really cares about your experience and is just all around great! ) comfortable, clean, decent rooms. Beds so nice to sleep on. Just a great vibe here. Hot tub is excellent.

Great nights stay, staff was really nice and attentive. This is our second stay in a Comfort Inn, and they have surprised us (positively). Thanks for helping us get a good night's rest.

We got to the hotel at midnight, didn't have time to check out the pool area. The room was clean and large, large bathroom. Had to wait about 2 minutes for hot water, they need to fix that issue. Breakfast had adequate choices but they kept running short of everything because they did not have a person dedicated to the breakfast area, he was the front desk guy pulling double duty. That situation always sucks. The hotel is large, lots of people, the breakfast area needs to be larger with a dedicated person.

Dennis was amazing! He greeted us with a smile. He was friendly and accommodating. It was so nice to walk into a hotel and be greeted with a smile, especially when we arrived so late. He really made our night better. The room was clean and comfortable. Glad we stayed here!

Staff were nice and helpful rooms were clean and price was reasonable.

I am a former employee of the tumwater, WA location. I quit due to HIGHLY unsanitary conditions. This hotel, and the one next door (the guest house) recently hosted a swingers party. I swear to you… the condition that place was in afterwards, and the LACK of cleanup would BLOW your mind. Ex: CHILDRENS mattresses were openly dragged down to the conference room (along with regular mattresses) and were "used" in the party. Maids were LITERALLY told that we weren't allowed to tell the guests that arrived after the swingers party, that the mattresses their babies were sleeping on were really REALLY gross, or we would get fired. The owner is rude, dismissive, and doesn't pay her employees fairly. I had a death in my family, across country, and I was "allowed" two days off… nothing more, or I would be fired. So I quit. This company is NOT INTERESTED in YOU, but rather, your wallet, and allows you to purchase, and sleep in DISGUSTING, UNSANITARY, rooms. -former housekeeper.

Wonderful customer service. Excellent collection of hot breakfast service with fresh coffee at the lounge along with room service with coffee and microwave. Very clean room with comfortable beds. We will look forward to visit this comfort inn again:)

Room was decent but the guest service wasn't very helpful, We arrived at 11pm tired from a long day and 3 of us needed showers, I called front desk to get a few more towels and the lady said she didnt have any and I couldn't get any until morning, She said the laundry person didnt leave any and she didnt have a key to get in the laundry room! Besides that both of our door keys wouldnt work 90% of the time until after 6 or 7 times. The stay was fine, nothing special could use some regular maintenance on the door keys and a option for move towels if needed, otherwise the beds were comfortable and room was clean.

There were several large groups booked at this hotel. They did their best to keep our group together on the same floor, allowed us to use their breakfast area for team dinner and meetings. It was easy to get to from the freeway and easy to get back on the freeway. Clean and well maintained. Only complaint is that the pool and hot tub water wasn’t very clean and as clear as it should be. Special point out was Kaydee the evening manager! She was a rockstar! She was working by herself and because there were so many teams there towels were running out. She worked hard to get towels to peoples’ rooms and to the pool room as fast as the machines would let her. She worked tirelessly. Thanks for your hard work and effort Kaydee! We appreciate you!

Where to start! This place is a trap. My wife and I stayed there several times this year, to get away from the house and occupants. This last time a pipe burst on the floor above us sending over an inch of dirty "toilet water" into our room. We lost several items due to contamination from the water, I had to call the local fire department due to the water being so deep that the lights were flickering and causing a fire hazard. We were quickly ushered out of the room as the maintenance guy arrived. My wife, I and our service dog (a whole other story, we we're told the room reservation was not available due to is having a service animal, a clear ADA violation in WA). Back to my wife and I waiting in the lobby for a clear case of us being refunded for the room and being on our way. That was not the case! To make a long story short and since this is still a pending case. The hotel held my deposit for the next four days then proceeded to charge us for the room. This place is dirty business. Literally. They received one star because it is required to give at least one. Do not stay here.

Beds weren't that comfy. Breakfast was good. Pool was refreshing. Location was convenient.

Decent place. Very large rooms, so that was nice. But the shower curtain was too short, the faucet practically explodes with water pressure when you use it, the tab that you pull up on to turn on the shower head was half broken, and more often than not, our key-cards didn't work (if there was some special trick we didn't figure it out). Nice hot tub and pool though! Breakfast was nice and the staff were very friendly.

Stayed here for son's baseball tournament. Card readers on doors need to be fixed as everyone we travelled with had issues getting into their rooms. On one occasion I had to swipe my card 20 times to get into my room. Another family from our team eventually changed rooms due to the hassle of getting into their room. Wi-Fi was very unstable, constantly getting booted off and extremely slow at times. Breakfast area pretty small. Staff friendly and helped as much as they could.

Was OK… again, I felt they dropped the ball when it came to breakfast. Plus, I felt very uneasy about staying here when it took 4 issued electronic keys to get me into my room. I was afraid to leave thinking I would never get back in! Did not leave a good impression!

Always clean staff is always friendly and helpful great for an overnight two or three nights stay reasonably priced I've been going to this hotel for 11 years and it never disappoints me.

Came in here for an Americorps regional training. We were in the Evergreen room. Our event started late due to difficulty of connecting computers to audio and projector and there didn't seem to be any hotel staff helping out with that. Other than that it was fine.

Had my son 21st celebration on 10/21/17. Best place that I've always had events. Especially with their staffs night shift Bill and maintenance Eddie. They've always make it easy and comfortable for me and my family. Also one of the lady (didn't catch her name) on our Sunday morning checkout. Basic no frills hotel. Regular room accommodations and basic amenities. Quiet area, good for sleeping. Hard to find without GPS navigation, not very visible from the streets, and signs covered by trees. Breakfast was horrible. Probably used some frozen boxed eggs and sausage patties (omg yuck) and microwaved. Pancakes are OK. Coffee is OK. Again, very basic, very low key, and low budget.

The room was in good condition for its age. The furniture was very dated and the floors were creeky in multiple spots. The highway noise was moderately annoying. The suite was pretty large and the bathroom was accessible from outside the bedroom, which is super nice for traveling with an infant (don't have to sneak in the bedroom if your infant goes to bed early). Overall, for the price it is acceptable.

The dude at the front desk with the ear piercings is really friendly, he gets the job done. Decent priced rooms, gets you though the night. Good location, comfy beds.

So greatly appreciated how the staff's worked to make all my event turnouts OUTSTANDING! Thank you Event Coordinator Rochelle and staff's Bonnie and Cindy.

Women's restroom needed attention. I tried to report the need, but no one was at the front desk. I tapped the bell a couple times. I followed the instructions posted on the phone at the front desk to dial 0 if help is needed. My call from the top of the desk rang into a phone behind the desk! Needless to say, no one answered the call. I repeated the exercise with the same result. Proceeded to my friend's room. The elevator is not well marked so I passed it. Found room alright. Signs worked well for room numbers. Room appears run-down. A/C worked great! That was a huge plus! Caulking on floor in bathroom needs repaired.

Kids loved the pool, the Continental breakfast was amazing. The room was very comfortable. The staff was very helpful, especially when we called them after we checked out to see if they would look in the room we stayed in for my husband's Pokemon go plus! They found it and held it for us until we could pick it up.

Our room was right across from the pool so there was easy access to the pool. The desk clerk was very nice and helpful. She helped us find our room and told us of all the added benefits of staying at their hotel.

Bonnie was excellent and helped us check in. Beds are nice and comfy. Blankets and pillows are high quality. Wish they would spring for a larger TV but the one they had is OK. Tub is wonderful. And the price was very reasonable. I'd definitely stay here again!

My husband and I have been staying at the Comfort Inn Tumwater on a long term basis for business and I have to give a big shout out to all the staff for making our stay exceptional! Also, at this time my children are here visiting and the staff has made them feel right at home! Bonnie the front desk manager went above and beyond before our children arrived going to the store, buying decorations and helping me decorate before our kids arrived! Bonnie is truly a gem and a g…reat asset to this hotel! Thank you Bonnie from the bottom of my heart! You are the best and do such a great job! Thanks a million to all the staff at Comfort Inn Tumwater for all the great work you do! We truly feel like family here and we care about all of you! I also would like to give a big shout out to Cindy and Bill for your kindness and never ending smiles. It's so nice to walk in after a hard nights work to Cindy saying "good morning" and "how was your night" and getting up early in the morning to Bill's upbeat attitude and boisterous "good morning". Everyone at the Comfort Inn takes such pride in their roles! Again, my husband and I thank all of you for making us feel at home even though our home and family is 2500 miles away, and I'm sure our families would thank you as well knowing we're in the company of such good people! Rooms are clean and very spacious. Staff are great. We have stayed here a few times for baseball tournaments. And we will continue to stay here. When we play in this area.

We just stayed in Tumwater's Comfort Inn Conference Center for 29 days, while visiting our daughters. We were very impressed. The room was very nice (very comfortable beds) and well cared for. The free breakfasts were tasty, with something to please just about anyone. But the best thing was the exceptionally courteous, pleasant persons at the desk. Both Angie and Steve were always so helpful. In all our travels — and we've traveled a lot — we've never encountered anyone who has done that job so well. We're looking forward to returning next year, and sure hope both Steve and Angie will be smiling at us then.

Pretty disappointed… once we arrived we checked in before check in time which was great but then were notified the pool and hot tub were out of order (the only reason we stayed) they offered to let us use the neighboring hotels pool which was also out of order. We had 2 adults and 3 children and were questioned as to WHY we needed more shampoo. There was a strange person wandering around and bags left in a hallway for hours. The place could use some updating and cleaning for sure but our room was nice.

Attended meeting for work. Very good catered breakfast and lunch. Staff friendly. Near many amenities of Tumwater yet feels like your on the forested area of Washington.

It was amazing, all staff was so helpful and friendly! night shift gentleman helped me with every single little thing I asked him for, gave me soap and laundry softner no charge , morning staff including manager, was so kind and when I eneded up short on laundry money helped me with my last load. Everyone was so pleasant and so very helpful. Best Stay At A Hotel EVER! wish I didn't have to leave, room was clean everything was perfectly detailed even the dusting. thank you guys for a wonderful stay!

Clean, friendly, not fancy. A good value for the low price. Lovely location, too. We stayed an extra night.

I wanted to give recognition to Rochelle who was working when I came in. She was very friendly and very profesional, when helping me get a room booked. It really helps you feel comfortable during your stay, when the staff is so well mannered. On top of that my room was very clean, and the towels were soft! Overall a great place to stay.

During the reservation process, an error created a "non-reservation" however, the staff of the hotel immediately tackled the problem and it resulted in a positive light being put on the hotel and it's staff. After we checked in, we found our room to be more than we hoped for. Linens were clean, rooms well appointed and the coffee was hot and plentiful. We will stay in this hotel again in a heartbeat. Before you come here, find a really good street map of the area to help you get around. Many thanks to the staff for all their help and great attitudes.

We have been to Olympia WA, several times over the past 20 years. The exterior of this hotel and relatively quiet location in a treed setting create an initially favorable impression. Their staff was both welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. There is a comfortable, clean hot tub and small pool, which we enjoyed. The location is close to Olympia, but in a nice quiet location. Rooms were clean and very comfortable pillows — bedding. This is the nicest place for us to stay in the Olympia area.

My husband and I had a great stay here. We were fortunate to have Shawna, an amazing front desk attendant help us when we were in a bind. After searching for a room in multiple other hotels, she offered the spa suite at a rate less than a regular room elsewhere! You don't come across people like that every day! We were very impressed with her generosity! The hotel is in a nice location — quiet setting. Rooms are clean and the staff goes above and beyond. Would highly recommend.

The hotel accommodations are mediocre at best, which would have been overlooked had the service been exceptional.
We arrived for breakfast right before 9 am (not knowing that this was the end of the breakfast hour). So we asked the front desk if it was okay to have breakfast and were told yes. As my kids and husband were serving themselves, the front desk attendant proceeds to start picking up the food and moving it to the back. My husband spoke to the manager regarding this issue to which he replied "Oh ummm".
This is completely unacceptable service by both the front desk attendant and management. We will NOT stay at this location again nor is it likely that we will stay at any other Comfort Inn based on this experience, which is unfortunate as we visit this area every few months.

My car overheated on the way to Vancouver Washington from Seattle. I pulled off the freeway in Tumwater the first hotel I came to was pet friendly and had a room. The front desk clerk Shawna text very good care of me and I was able to relax and enjoyed my evening. The king and I my dog have a great relaxing night I was able to get up in the morning picture of my car and be on my way. Thank you comfort in Tumwater and Shawna.

I actually had a good stay at this hotel, but there was a miscommunication about lengthening my stay. So I'm giving this place a terrible rating due to the lack of customer service by the manager (s) regarding my two requests for a call back. I had left the hotel for the day and came back to find that my key card didn't work. After the front desk reactivated it, I found that all my belongings were gone. Luckily the front desk had my stuff packed up in a garbage bag behind the front desk, but the cleaning person didn't bother to notify the staff to call me and check if I had checked out. The cleaning staff also dumped my expensive, half-consumed bottle of wine. I filled out a comment card and requested a call back. I didn't receive a call back, so after I left a voicemail with the manager a month later, I never received a call back.

Nice place, very friendly people, clean room, soft towels. Workout room has two multi-purpose weight machines and 3 aerobics machines, all in good condition. Nice pool and hot tub indoors. Good free breakfast. Internet Wi-Fi speed good, not great.
