This place is ok needs lot of work remodel run down to say least everything needs improvement peoe are friendly that's a good thing.

How the hell do you wait til a guest checks in to tell them that the room they booked is not in service?! Not coming back Edit: I was charged as a no show even though I showed up ready to check in.

The customer service is poor and so is the overall condition of the hotel. I won't be back and neither will any of my family members. Don't host a function here!

Absolutely disgusting! This weekend was my first time staying in a hotel where I was afraid to take a shower and use the towels because it was dirty. I had to run to the store to buy cleaning supplies. This place is a complete dump. It is not taken care of well and the staff just don't seem to care or they are used to the place being such a dump and people complaining. The walls are dirty, the paint is chipped all along the door sills, air conditioner barely worked, towels were FILTHY, the ice bucket and coffee maker are stored in the bathroom directly next to the toilet… WHAT IN THE WORLD! The dining area. Disgusting. Ants and flies were everywhere. The ceiling was leaking profusely in there and in the main lobby. Just appalling. They really need to get it together at this because I would NEVER recommend anyone go stay there or any Clarion if this is the type of condition they are in… oh and the front desk staff was SOOO UNPROFESSIONAL!

Super nice staff. Hotel needs some serious work. It's old. It was clean. Wanted to eat at the restaurant, was told it would be open till then but they closed by eight. Pool area needs serious attention. Restaurant looked nice.

Came here with some friends and kids to have some fun. Loved that they had two pools one indoor and one outdoor which was great. Didn't get a chance to go to the bar and restaurant that they had downstairs. But maybe the next time I'm here I'll make it their. Loved the lay out of the room only downside was no lotion, shampoo or conditioner in room. But the people at the front desk were very helpful when we needed cups and plates and other stuff. It was our first time there and I do plan on using them again in the future.

The hotel is located just a couple of miles from William and Mary University. Close to an outlet mall and multiple restaurants. The only down side to the hotel is that it really needs to be renovated. The room that I stayed in was large and the king bed was comfortable. Did not eat at the restaurant located in the hotel. The staff was very accommodating for my family, 20 of us stayed here, with the use of one of the rooms for us to hang out and play cards in.

After considering the quality of the facility, cleanliness, hospitality and atmosphere, this hotel is worth about $65 per night to me. Don't pay $109 and definitely do not pay $130 like I did. If I had stayed at the Motel 6 next door for $49.95 per night I would have at least had an honest experience.

Checked in quick and simple. While walking down hallway all you could smell is 20 year old smoke and pot. Room was clean and comfortable. The a/c unit would not stay with fan on constant speed when in auto or manual. House keeping was working on our room when we returned following after noon. Resturaunt was not very good. Ordered steak mashed potatoes and green beans. Green beans were the most favorable and easiest to chew. Waitress did not know anything about wine except red or white. Bartender helped out with selection. Desert was best option with apple crisp. Would have rather paid $20 more for less options and more up to date feeling. I gave 3 stars because of no bugs, no trash, and friendly staff. Otherwise would have been 1 star.

Absolute s@ hole! Old, musty, hot room and 2 fire alarms set off in the middle of the night due to a faulty sensor! At least we didn't have feces smeared on our bathroom door like another member of our soccer team. Stay far away from this dilapidated, poor excuse for a hotel. One highlight… pleasant, but understandably overwhelmed front desk staff. I also find it interesting the majority of the 4/5 star reviews are signed Anonymous.

Really Disappointing! We stayed here over Memorial Day weekend. We had requested a rollaway on our reservation but was told there weren't any. The fire alarm apparently went off at 1:30 am but it didn't wake us. It went off again at 4:30 and woke my oldest son up, who woke the rest of us up. The hotel was evacuated for about a half hour, but we were not spoken to by any member of the staff to inform us what was going on. Our reservation said it included breakfast, but there was no breakfast to be found the next morning. The restaurant was dark and locked. There was quite an angry mob at the front desk in the morning asking to speak to a manager, but were told that one would not be on site until Monday. Do yourself a favor, and stay far away!

Avoid this hotel at all costs. It's easily the dirtiest, most run down hotel I've ever been in. One hallway has the feel of a small roller coaster. Most of the air conditioners don't cool properly and at least 2 of the rooms have a terrible odor. The fire alarm goes off multiple times throughout the night due to a malfunction and the hotel fails to make good on its promise to refund that nights stay ending with unauthorized charges on the credit cards of numerous guests. Hopefully all of the negative reviews stemming from this weekend will help people avoid this train wreck of a hotel.

Don't stay here unless you have too. We were booked here by Anthony Travel for a soccer tournament. We had lots of cleanliness issues and our room was hot and never cooled down. I had to dry my hair in the lobby bathroom to keep from heating up our room anymore. The pool was gross. Mold growing on the ice machines. The area near the ice machines was nasty and not moped or cleaned the whole time we were there. Fire alarms went off at 130am and 230am in the morning. Location is about the only thing positive going for this hotel. Checked out early and now having issues with wrong charges on my credit card.

Stayed at this hotel for Memorial Day weekend. When we got to our room and the AC didn't work. Was offered another room and the air didn't work in that room either. We finally were offered another room and the AC worked fine. Then the next night, we were awakened by the fire alarm going off at 1:30 in the morning and had to evacuate. 30 min. Later we were told that we could go back in but no explanation was given as to what happened. Then about 2 hours later the fire alarm went off again and we called the front desk and they advised that it was not an emergency. The fire alarm had malfunctioned. The hotel is very outdated. The staff was very friendly and I received some reimbursement for my troubles but I would not stay here again.

This hotel is not even a 1 star. Our a. C. Didn't work so had to move rooms, finally, at midnight. New room a. C. Not much either. The entire hallway of our floor has had an almost constant, strong, smell of marijuana. The lobby bathroom was filthy and minus toilet paper. Finally, at 1:30am and again at 4:30am the fire alarm sounded. It's apparently malfunctioning. The whole hotel is a malfunction in my opinion.

Absolutely nasty. The bed sheets were very bumpy and looked reused and not cleaned properly. Roaches crawled into our suitcases and found a big bed bug crawling on the bed sheet. The key cards didn't work most of the time. The only good thing about this hotel was the pool.

Went there for the restaurant they now have. Excellent restaurant.

It was a nice hotel, nice bed and fridge but everything else needed some TLC. The elevator was slow, wall paper was coming off, it felt like it use to be really nice but fell apart.

Hotel is clean, which is the only reason they received 2 stars. Whilst looking for the dining area for breakfast (which had no food out and was EMPTY), my fiancee and I proceeded to the front desk. Not only was the staff misinformed as to when breakfast started (saying that it started at 8, when it was really at 6), the sales and catering managers attitude was ridiculous. My fiancee told her good morning and asked how she was, Melinda (the sales and catering MANAGER) looked at him, made a face that signaled disgust and kept walking to the front desk. As if that wasn't RUDE enoguh, she stormed into the same dining room we just left out of, for about 2 minutes, came back out, and in THE MOST condescending tone turned to us and said "Well breakfast IS in there… " Now I'm not sure if it's because we're young, or black, but her attitude was unacceptable. We frequent hotels for business, and have yet to experience treatment like this. Needless to say I DO NOT recommend this hotel. We WILL be switching hotels today. And I will NEVER visit this establishment again.

This was horrible! First off way over priced for what you are getting, continental breakfast was horrible and useless, food was cold and there was no microwave to heat it up. The HVAC system in our room was broken and we were offered nothing, didn't even receive an apology for that just an ok. The best part was trying to check out… We went to check out at 7:50 this morning and finally at 8:15 I was done checking out because the person who was in charge of running the front desk at that time had "stepped out". Someone said that they could check us out but he was only going to take my room key and he wouldn't be able to get me a receipt. Finally the guy that runs the kitchen came out and ended up checking me out and got me a receipt, he was very annoyed that he had to come up and help out the front though.

Everything was great, staff is wonderful and very friendly, breakfast was superb! Room in great shape and perfect bedding for good night sleep after walking in outlet mall. Highly recommend and near outlet mall and tons of restaurants!

Came here for a seminar. Mold and water damage on the ceiling and walls in the room my mother was staying in, dirty carpets throughout, wall paper peeling and illfitting on the walls, carpet poorly laid out and hazardous to walk on. The "renovations" are already falling apart. I've stayed at other hotels in this chain and was very pleased but would not recommend or stay here.

My family had great time at this hotel. The bed was very comfortable! The hotel staff was very nice and inviting. Very close to restaurants and historic town.

Great atmosphere, people are very friendly and excellent. There is a huge mall in 2 min drive and a lot of food option so I highly recommend this place.

We started out our vacation on a sour note, we couldn't get to our destination due to power outages. We decided to take our chances and found this hotel very last minute. Being 5 families with 3 dogs it was not an easy deal. Once we got into the hotel the front desk Person "Jessica" was exactly what we needed. She was awesome. The Clarion hotel staff could not have been nicer or more understanding. The hotel was a little outdated but the staff went above and beyond to make sure our Plan B vacation was a great one.

Hotel could use some updating but for the price and location it was nice. The hallways could seriously use some TLC/shampooing carpets! The outside pool was wonderful! Staff was pleasant and we would stay here again.

Hotel could use some updating if possible, the conference room was a little dirty but I still loved my experience there. They could fit our large group and kept refreshments fully stocked. The lounge area/cocktail bar was also great.

Front hotel staff working the day we checked in was very pleasant and professional. She was a Caucasian woman with dark brown/black hair, very kind and sweet to my son. The next day, upon checking out, we informed the front desk staff that our toilet did not work, would not flush or pump water into the tank. The woman working did not acknowledge the issue, did not say anything to us, just did not seem to want to be there. She was an middle aged African American woman with black hair. Working in retail/customer service, I feel if you decide to work in hospitality, you should make an effort to provide some customer service or care into the facility you work at.

I stayed at the Clarion Hotel last week as a part of a group training event and I'd read some of the reviews indicating how poor the facility was, but I remained cautiously optimistic because some reviewers (and perhaps even some management had responded to review) had mentioned renovations that were underway. Well, they were wrong. This hotel needs to be bulldozed and re-built. I had water coming in the window above my A/C unit in my room from a heavy & windy rain. The wallpaper in their banquet room/meeting space was peeling off the walls. There appeared to be apparent surface mold, or if not, definitely nasty black streaks and patches on the walls in the meeting space as well. Water from the rain poured in from the ceiling tiles around light fixtures (clearly likely a fire hazard) in the hallway leading to their meeting space. It was clear that the staff did not clean in the "dining room" after each of the meals because crushed cookies and crumbs could be observed on the floor, as well as on the tables themselves. The ice cream that was given for dessert during the Banquet, which my group held, was froth because it had melted from being placed in a bowl of ice for who knows how long before the meal actually got underway. All in all, pick another facility. I didn't take a picture of everything that I observed, but the few that I've attached will you an idea of the state of disrepair that the hotel is in.

This hotel was by far the worst I ever stayed in… The halls smelled like cigarettes, very uncomfortable beds, the AC units HARDLY WORK! They stick my fiancé and I in a room tucked away in a corner, and right off the bat we were unimpressed with the room and then the AC unit was broken so they moved us to the front towards the lobby which we found extremely rude because NOBODY has any consideration for anyone else also the AC UNIT only cools down A QUARTER OF THE ROOM. Everyone down the halls would scream and let their kids cry in front of the room and I found it really crappy they allowed guest to act like that. The walls are paper thin also, and uncomfortable stiff sheets. Do not stay here if you want comfort, and oeace and quiet!

DISGUSTING! Found a ROACH in our room! The rooms are UNSANITARY and needs UPDATING. The pool and hot tub are nasty and needs to be repaired/updated. I'm very shocked this is a "Holiday Inn". This Hotel is falling apart. The manager (Melissa) offered us free breakfast and 10% off for the incident. We politely declined. Why would I eat there after finding a ROACH?! My wife was getting allergies because the rooms were so dirty and hallways smelled moldy. I will never stay here again. Also had to throw out all the food we left open because we didn't know if the ROACHES got in it. We checked out early and we were charged another night after speaking with the manager. She claims she could only discount the room at 10%. She is the head manager, I'm sure she could do more than that. Not happy! Please try to avoid this place at all cost!

This hotel is the upmost disappointment. My family and I will never ever stay there again. The pictures on the website are a joke. Especially when you pull in the parking lot. My fiance told me that we are at the wrong hotel, this cannot be it. I told him this is where the gps told us our destination. Sadly to say it was the right hotel. The pool was not cleaned at all. It had all kinds of bugs in it. I went to ask the hotel person could they clean the pool and he didnt want to. Then the so called jacuzzie, water wasn't even halfway full in it and it looks as if it were made and painted by a 5 year old. Now if you look on the website at the pictures look how they show the pool and then there are no close up pictures of the jacuzzie. Now the lounge was something else too. We had went out to the outlet mall, came back and said we were just going to eat at the hotel and relax. We get back at 8:30 pm and the guy said they were closed and this was on a Saturday night. Now that took the cake. I'm not a hard person to please and I don't complain but this hotel was terrible. Fyi. In case you didnt get the message, the pictures are not a recent depiction of what you will see.

Decent location, rooms are with standard amenities. Phone in our room was missing. We have booked king bed, instead we got twin beds due to the system not recording it correctly (that's what they told us). Breakfast is mediocre, especially knowing you have so many decent breakfast restaurants nearby. Overall, the hotel is old. So if you're Ok compromising, not a bad place to stay for 1-2 nights.

Not too bad but not all that great. Beds are alright, they did their job being good enough so I could sleep. Did not trust the food here, didn't try it but didn't wanna risk it. Coffee sucked though. The pool is a dump, really dirty inside and outside the pool. I'd book it again if I had no better choice. If I had a better choice I'd definitely take it.

Don't ever book a room at this hotel. The hotel room was nasty and very unclean along with the mattresses that were very uncomfortable. Also, it had rust coming out of the shower head and the room was very humid. Due to my daughters asthma this was not convenient for my family. We requested a fan and the front desk representative told us that she was unable to locate the maintenance man to fix the air condition. The next morning prior to check out at 0700 we requested extra towels and washcloths the front desk staff informed us that housekeeping was not available yet and we would have to walk down to the front desk to retrieve the items. Which was no problem. Be the frustrated front desk employee didn't sound understanding to our whole situation during our stay.

This is by far the worst hotel we have ever stayed at. Definitely not up to holiday Inn standard. This was my mother's day gift from my family. We checked in & the first room smelled like wet clothes. We moved to another room only to find that the room had roaches & the bathroom smelled like cigarettes. When I asked the maid for air freshener she told me she didn't speak English. The pool area is obviously not maintained. The hot tub was black. There's no way I was getting in there. There were rusty screws in the wall. And the smell of the game room leading to the pool area is best described as simply offensive! The staff said they were working on the hot tub but had no idea why the water was black. Regarding the roaches they said they don't usually have a problem in that room. What? Then the Maid was banging on the door at 9am & woke my 4 month old up. By then I was ready to flip out! I also found out the hotel is independently owned so that explains alot. The pictures on the Internet are either old or enhanced. Definitely the worst hotel ever. Never again! Sticking with Marriott.

The stay was nice, the beds soft, the lobby was very nice. The staff were very understanding and happy.

Still pleasant despite decades of seasonal and convention wear. Rates are great for conventions, and plenty of room for those as well. Staff is usually accommodating.

This is one of the worst hotels we have ever stayed it. The bed springs were popping through the mattresses. The shower and tub had bugs coming through the drain. The floors were sticky on the main floor by the bathrooms. Called the day before we arrived and couldn't find our reservations. I had booked them over 6 months ago for a festival we were attending. A group of about 20 people were visiting at the bar and at 10 pm the bartender said bar closed. Don't care where you go but it won't be here. " The same rude man from 2 years ago. He needs to be fired. Didn't have anything anyone asked for to drink. Won't ever stay there again. Nothing was improved from 2 yrs ago.

This hotel is in fact a very nice hotel. The location is indeed very convenient and the staff is very nice, well trained and dedicated to make your stay a pleasant one. I would definitely recommend it.
