I don't expect the Ritz, however, as I have been in the hospitality biz myself, I do expect floors to be swept at the least and not to find hair in the shower when I haven't even been in the shower… gross… I was pleased with the front desk clerk as she was very nice and polite. I have been in worst hotel/motels than this and they were cleaner… only staying one night… would not recommend to family and friends. Both stars are for outward appearance and polite front desk clerk.

Newly renovated, great staff and management, excellent and affordable stay as well as room service. I highly recommend this hotel to any family or any traveler looking for a great place to stay. I worked in the hospitality industry for many years and from both perspectives this hotel has my approval as I am sure it will have yours as well given the opportunity. We had a great experience here and the staff is very accommodating. The rate here is very affordable and the state of the hotel was very pleasing. For the amount of money we were paying we kind of expected much less and were very surprised to find that this hotel exceeded our expectations. We are definitely going to return and make this Motel 6 a permanent place in our trips to Williamsburg. Thank you Motel 6 for providing with us with such a pleasant home away from home and for all of your help!

If I could give this place zero stars that would not be sufficient to describe my complete disgust for this place and the Indian lady that "runs" this establishment. I doubt that motel six would even want their name and reputation to be associated with this dump. My brother and I were treated with such disregard and contempt that we not only left but we reported this place to Motel 6's corporate office, the Better Business Bureau, and the local news outlet. STAY AWAY! The room we were given was dirty. The second room that the lady (who wouldn't even disclose her name when asked) showed us had roaches crawling on the dresser. She didn't apologize or even acknowledge, nor offered to clean the dirt in the rooms. She stated that all she could do was issue us a refund and we could go. When asked about a discount for the inconvenience, she emphatically refused and offered no professional courtesy or customer service. Her behavior toward us was dismissive, unprofessional, and just downright abhorrently rude. She treated and spoke to us as if we were a nuisance or an inconvenience, and were bothering her to ask for a clean room. She was patronizing and arrogant and should be dismissed from that job. Anyone can find a much better place to stay AND SHOULD NEVER SUPPORT THIS HELL HOLE!

We were pleasantly surprised with this place. The reviews are too harsh. There are a lot of people who live there, but they are all mostly very friendly. The room was small, but clean. The location is close to a lot of attractions. They are pet friendly, but there were a few dogs that live there that gave our puppy a hard time and were a little aggressive, so keep an eye on your pets. We recommend bringing your own towels, because the towels they give you are too small. The lady who checked us in was very welcoming, and offered to change our room if we weren't happy. But another lady was rude and refused to give my husband another pillow. There were a few bugs in the room, but nothing crazy. Overall, we were pleasantly surprised and satisfied with our stay. Its less than $45 a night, so you really get what you pay for.

Honestly if I could give this place a half a star I would. It’s nasty, tiny and overall disgusting. The rooms are so tiny there’s not even enough space between two double beds for two people to stand side by side. The sheets have not been washed before we got there. Dirt is literally coming out of the ac unit. At first we thought we brought it in from our shoes, but after we cleaned it up and came back from dinner there was more dirt on our beds! I’m honestly so disappointed. Will not be staying here ever again.

Staff was fine but small things like free coffee only served till 10am, why? why not extend it for another hour for the people checking out as a nice parting gift. Like its coffee, just a small thing can go a long way.

First of all, this is a MOTEL. If you don't know what I mean by that, don't stay here. Qualifications for a good motel: cheap, I felt safe as a small female, and I didn't see any roaches or bedbugs. Great location, the staff was nice. 5 stars. Calm down or pay more for a nice hotel.

Outside building looks old however their rooms have been renovated and were quite cozy and extremely clean. Best water pressure ever at a motel! Backside parking lot had people hanging out in it leaving ALOT of trash but rooms were great!

It was pleasant enough, if spartan. The motel caters to people without much money, but my room was clean and generally suited my needs for an inexpensive accommodation. If you're in that situation, I DO recommend this motel. Conveniently located too. The only thing missing was shampoo (or rinse), which I had forgotten to pack, and, apparently, they do not automatically provide. (I presume I could have got some from the office. ) The hot water took some time to activate, but it was there. Plenty of towels, etc. They provided morning coffee, but if you arrive even a minute or two after the "stop serving" time, you're out of luck! That was a bit annoying. The one morning I "made it", the coffee was pretty durned weak, even for me, and I don't like strong coffee! BUT, all-in-all, I DO recommend this place. My complaints are minor.

Wish I could give it 0 stars. Don't ever stay here. Sheets had hair and drops of blood on them. The floor was disgusting, worst motel ever. Nothing was clean, and dogs were barking all night. Appeared as if people lived there. Very sketchy stuff went on at all hours of night. Again don't ever stay here!

My room was gross. The floor was covered in dog hair. The lamp shades all crocked, mirror crocked, shower curtain full of mold, dust on bathroom counter. I ask for the room to be cleaned fully and all I got was the 1 garbage can changed, new shower curtain and clean towels. The floors were not even cleaned. They didn't even make my bed. There was no clock or bible. Told that they are normally stolen. As for the next day, I received no services at all not even clean towel. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone and I have stayed at many Motel 6 before. Just absolutely GROSS!

The room was good for the price I paid. The Wi-Fi connection was very poor. The area around the motel, like the gardens and the walls could use a proper clean up. Also, I know that the swimming pool is closed, but now it looks like a trash bin… also a good clean up would be a good idea. In general good, but I think if they decide to maintain the property around the hotel better it would be a better stay for everyone.

The woman at the counter was very friendly and helpful. The building is obviously old and dated, the stair well has been repaired with wood slats instead of the matching gravel type stone. We were told to use the thermostat on the wall to control the heating/air conditioning in the room, not the controls on the unit. When we got into the room, it was freezing cold. The thermostat was set to "On" and "High" but was obviously not doing anything or even on. When we decided to try out the controls on the wall unit, we turned it on and it was set to 86°F already, but blew only cold air even after twenty minutes. The bathroom was dirty, the floor needed to be swept, and the shower, sink, and toilet cleaned. I liked the over all design of the shower, but it was so small that I held the curtain away from my fellow guest as they showered so that it wouldn't keep sticking to them. The room we selected was for a Queen. However the mattress was definitely a Full. It was hard and rather lumpy. There was a sheet, two very thin blankets, and a very thin and scratchy comforter. All of the bedding had various staining, and the pillows themselves were also lumpy. The room floor itself was clean, as was the table. The only other thing of note was the hole in the wall. All in all, it wasn't too bad for $40 for one night. I'm not expecting a 4 star experience for that price, but I do expect a clean bathroom and bed.

First room we checked into: Chewed gum and wrapper on nightstand, ashes (? ) In toilet, Second room: bug and hair in one bed, yellow stained sheets in the other, shower was wet and had a towel on the floor of it, ice bucket had hair in it… Just really a gross dirty place. But hey it's like $36 so bring your own sheets and it's a bargain I guess. I won't be back. Editing to add — the front desk dude was super nice and helpful he did help us switch rooms and even ran the key up to the third floor to us so we wouldn't have to come down. But, like, the rooms are pretty dang gross and there's only so much great customer service can do.

We were not very happy with this location. This is a very old property which was dirty and falling apart. The clientele was a little iffy. Didn't feel the safest there. Although the room was clean, it was extremely small for four people. We could hardly move around. Good room for 1 or 2 people only. The bathroom was extremely small with no counter space. The bedding and towels were poor quality and there were no dressers for clothes. There were hardly any outlets for phone and computer charging and they charge a $3 fee for Internet per person, per night, and the connection was hit or miss! There was a microwave and refrigerator in the room which was a pleasant surprise.

When I walked in the room it had a very musty smell. The bathroom door would not close, the door was too large for the door opening. Luckily I was by myself. The first two nights I couldn't get warm water in the sink. When my bed was changed the second day they used a top sheet that had a burn hole and blue stain on it! The bed was very comfortable and the television set was better than what I have at home but not sure that is enough to have me come stay here again.

For a getaway over the weekend, the price for two nights was good. I walked in the room and a roach was sitting on the floor. I woke up the next morning and there were more roaches coming from the door connected between the room. I asked for extra towels, wash cloths and pillows and I was only given towels as the guy was like he didn’t have clean wash cloths or pillows to give me at the time. The blanket on the bed was very thin and I had to use my personal throw blanket to stay warm, however, the water was hot and I was able to watch cable the entire stay.

Old building. Many updates, but still old and grungy. It's not clean. Rooms had lots of hair and there was garbage all strewn about the ground around the dumpsters. It was only $40 though, so you can't go wrong there. Motel 6's are hit or miss. This one is a miss.

There were lots of roaches. Went out and bought my own roach traps. I figured by the time management did something, my stay would be half over. Besides, I felt others must have complained, so he already knew — and didn't solve the problem. I didn't want to argue about it. My last two days there was no hot water. I thought it couldn't just be me, so others must have told the office, especially women with kids. Manager said that no one complained, and he takes a shower every day. Why would I want to take a shower with him? He just wanted to argue and do nothing. The blanket was full of cigarette burns — holes. It was the worst motel I stayed at in since the 1970's.

We had a great experience here and the staff is very accommodating. An employee, Sing, was the most helpful. Upon check in the room on the bottom floor did have flies and gnats but upon returning to front desk to report it and change rooms, he was VERY helpful. He was very sincere and apologetic and happily switched our room. He personally went with us to the new room to ensure that it met our expectations and that there were no issues, which was a great comfort. The beds were very comfortable, the room was very clean and the shower was great. We left behind our daughter's favorite stuffed animal, Seal, that she has had since she was 2. We were in a total panic and worried that we would never see Seal again. We were still in town but on our way out so I called the hotel and the clerk who answered was not helpful at all. She said there was nothing she could do and that I needed to speak with housekeeping the following day. I explained that we would be out of town by then but she still refused us any help. Upon asking her to please check the room she refused. I asked if Sing was available and she said he would be coming in to work in about 45 minutes. So we went to Denny's for a bite to eat and we went to the hotel to speak with Sing. Once again he was most helpful and very willing to accommodate our request. He has a wonderful demeanor and is well suited for a career in hospitality. The girl working before him could learn a lot from him. He did not hesitate to help us.

I was disappointed right when I checked in, the price was changed from $88 to $103 without my knowledge. I am 20 and my fiance is 22 so we checked in under his name since you needed to be 21 and the front desk gave my trouble about using his ID instead of mine even though I called weeks ahead and asked if this was allowed and was told this it was. Then, the manager said since there were two people staying the night it would be $103 instead of $88 but I had two guests on the reservation the whole time. Then, we finally get into the room and it looked pretty decent. However, when I took my shoes off at the door and walked to the bathroom and back, the bottom of my feet were black. I wetted a towel and mopped the floor and it was also black. It was absolutely disgusting and it's a shame I felt the need to wear shoes during my entire stay (two nights). I went the use the bathroom and their was still toilet paper in their from the guests before, the toilet was also clogged. I called down to ask them to fix this and they came a few hours later. This motel is also pretty sketchy, while we were by the pool there was a man, clearly on drugs, yelling at us from a few floors above. I felt uncomfortable walking anywhere on this property. The rooms seemed to have been renovated within the past few years so it looked similar to the pictures they have online which was nice, but cleanliness was lacking considerably.

I would give it 2 1/2 stars, so I'm giving the benefit of the doubt. My room was clean and not too small, though the bath mat I used to wipe up water on the floor turned sort of black. I was glad that the room did not smell of smoke, but had to hold my breath walking outside because people were smoking just outside the doors. I hesitated going out one time because of a big dog standing outside my door, and some of my neighbors walked their dogs in the strip of grass right outside the door while others appeared to be homeless people. No breakfast, just coffee. I understand the cost-cutting benefits, but think they could probably get the small shampoo bottles for less than 25c each, and the limit of 2 soaps didn't bother me personally, but would if there were 2 couples somehow sharing the space. My own personal space was fine; I'm not complaining about it, and it was nice to have the Outback Steakhouse a 2 minute walk away. I liked the pool, too. But the outside looked more than a little iffy — — yellow tape on sidewalk because of a broken light above made it a little difficult to enter the office from my room — — I didn't encourage my husband to stay because I figured he would take one look and leave. What's the saying, don't judge a book by its cover? Well, it's a fairly decent book, nothing special, with a raggedy cover.

The stay was great. The water pressure was amazing! The shower was great! The bed was great! The lighting in the room was okay. I would've liked to have a couch in the room. I also would've liked to have a hair dryer attached to the wall like other hotels/motels because if there was one I couldn't find it anywhere. The staff was very friendly and helped in any way they could. The outside was sorta horrible and needs some work done to it. They over charged from what we booked it for. We booked it for a lower price but when we got there they charged more.

We don't usually have issues or complain when we do, but this hotel was the worst that we have ever been to in our lives. Inside the hotel room — The towels had hair and stains on them, the shower was moldy, there was no shampoo or conditioner, the main door to our room did not shut properly and appeared as if it had been previously pried open, there were dirty sewing needles left out on the desk, the desk chair and computer table were both sticky, the bed was very hard and we didn't sleep at all while there. The grounds — were unkempt, there were old tvs and random equipment just sitting around outside of the hotel, there were some really shady people there hanging around and drinking all day and all night in the walkways/hallways (we did not feel safe at all! ), smoke came pouring into the room from the smokers outside and I am asthmatic so it made everything else even worse. To top things off we had to bring our small dog with us and the front desk was not accommodating. They gave us a room on the second floor furthest from any of the stairways which made it difficult to take our dog out to use the restroom. Trivial compared to our other major issues here. We do not recommend staying here. This was our last resort hotel because everything else was booked and we will not be staying at Motel 6 in the future.

What a horrible experience… No microwave, bathroom was dirty. I had to kill a few roaches! Towels had stain. Ugh! I was so disappointed. I had my 8 year old daughter who wanted to get in the pool and of course it wasn't open due to it having to be inspected. Which they should have noted that on the website. Or at check in. A bunch of loud people everywhere. The lady below me had a bunch of huge dogs in her room. I'm assuming these people actually live there. Kids running all loud in the parking lot. Ladies out in the parking lot smoking and being all loud using fowl language. It was just a bad bad experience. I stood 3 days and not once did house keeping come to restock my towels n take out trash. I had to do it on my own. I don't care how cheap the place is. Go and spend your money on a motel that's worth it. This is TRASH.

We enjoyed our stay. We stopped for the night while passing through. They allowed us to check in early. We had a double bed non smoking room and it had a great TV and bathroom. The only down side was we had no microwave even though we requested one. The guy at the front desk seemed confused by our request and said he couldn't tell based on the color of our room so I'm sure it was miscommunication. Our stay was enjoyable and clean and that's what matters most.

I wish I could give less stars. No cable. They CHARGE EXTRA for crappy Internet unlike MOST other places including the motel 6 I JUST came from. The hot/cold water is so picky you're either freezing to death or melting no in between. The water pressure? I mean water trickle, I can piss with more pressure than that. The room is bleak to say the least and the property, so beyond trashy. There is a large amount of people living here like it's an apartment complex and I don't mean decent people I mean a bunch of hood rats and trailer trash with all 300 of their children running around being loud and annoying. Now I have a two year old so I'm not some child hater but when 12 disgustingly nasty trailer trash come stomping by my door loudly speaking about how "bubba gon needa get some mo chickn fo compny tonight" and you wake up my napping child I have a problem. I am currently writing this from a DIFFERENT hotel because it was that bad over there and I've never left a hotel before. I've been to many hotels and many motel 6s and this is by far the most disappointing trash I've ever seen. You have been warned.

I stayed here and had not one problem any question there were on top of it right away. Helped with everything I needed Erin never brushed me off she always had an answer to anything I needed any time she was working whether it be 3 AM in the morning she was a great help. I would recommend this Motel 6 anytime I going to Virginia again and I'm from the West Coast.

The room was nice for the price and surprisingly big but we paid extra for Wi-Fi that didn't even work.

The staff was helpfull and friendly. But the hotel could be more clean. We used this hotel because we were on the road and got tired. It was easy to find. The price was fair.

Motel 6 Williamsburg is excellent. I stay there all the time. My only complaint is that the tvs are not really working (most of the channels say they are switching to digital and are not avaliable so its not really their fault) and the Wi-Fi is a little touchy. It does not work very well. Other than that I enjoyed my stay. Comfy and nice for the price. We got a microwave and a fridge. It is a great value.

Wish I could rate zero stars! Roach infested! Dirty! They need to be shut down, pure filth! We left the same night. They were absolutely rude, acting like roaches & filth were no big deal & would only refund half of our money. Shut them down!

So, I read the reviews before we booked. I even came with my own sheets and Clorox wipes. I have to say there were NO dead/living bugs of any sort in our room. The sheets were clean and the bathroom spotless. My only complaint was that the room was dusty and the mirror in the main area hadn't been cleaned in forever. Would stay again. Thank you for being pet friendly.

ATROCIOUS! If I could rate them ZERO stars I would! I completely expected an out dated hotel for the price of rooms, but we were absolutely appalled at this. I've been in Housekeeping for 4 yrs so yes I tend to notice things more than some may, but the couple hours we were there things escalated from bad to unbearable. Hair all over bathroom floor, dirty towels and bed linen, unmopped floors, shower brown from knee height and down, gunk buildup on sides of commode, fingerprints and dust everywhere… and this was just 1 out of 3 rooms we booked. We actually could've survived this for one night… hey its a cheap hotel right!?! It was almost midnight due to us being at Busch Gardens all day and we were 3 hrs from home, so we were gonna deal. THEN… one room was INFESTED with COCKROACHES! Baby roaches crawling on the floor, huge roaches on the walls around a vent and crawling toward the bed. Not to mention the drug dealing from the obsence and loud people a few doors down! Manager did switch rooms for the roaches but didn't seemed concerned about anything else, even when we checked out that same night with no refund. She obviously needs customer service training. Never again!

The worst motel I ever laid my eye in… infested with roaches, bedbugs they come out wall, and mattress at night… filled with dirty people living there on gov services… sex stains in ever bed… I tried to give the motel a chance with my business knowing im probable going to get what I pay for but this motel is worse they should have paid me $40.01 an night to stay there… they would not refund the 3 nights I booked even tho I was only at the motel for 2 hours and 4 rooms later. Each room that they changed me to was worse then other… there an nice motel down the road super 8 cost an extra $15 an night and you will get a lot more then what u pay for.

This place to rest and take a shower. It good gets the job done. Motel has nice and clean pool. The staff was friendly. It wasn't three star hotel but it was good value. I will stay there again.

I stayed here because it had the cheapest rate. The room was clean and newly renovated. The bed and bathroom was nice. The staff was helpful and very friendly. I will stay there again.

Very dirty. I would not stay here again. The comforter had stains all over it. The bathroom doesn't look like it has EVER been cleaned. The internet is spotty and the TV isn't clear. The walls are paper thin. The list can go on forever. On the plus side, at least the air conditioner worked.

Like someone else stated, you get what you paid for and it is true in my stay here at Williamsburg, VA. I came here because it had the cheapest rate and J knew it was just for a place to just sleep and nothing much else. The room had a fridge that did not work, I never used the microwave (probably didn't work either). At least the ice machine in the hotel lobby worked well. The room also had TUBE TV's! (Aren't those ancient like VHS tapes?!? ) At least the A/C did work fine (thank God) and the bed was ok for it being what it was. The bathroom was decent and had a nice shower but very little amenities, just 2 small bars of soap. There was sufficient parking. The pool looked kind of dirty, like it hasn't been properly cleaned in a few days and I doubt anyone used it even though the days I stood there were really hot. Overall I give this hotel 3 stars because it is what it is, but if you want more than a good night's rest from your daytime activities, this would not be a place for you. Otherwise, it is worth the cheap price to avoid sleeping in your car or in the woods! LOL.

I usely stay in motel 6 when I travel. So out of 6 ill give the 6 stars. But this particular trip im giving them 1 star. I was highly dissastisfied with the appearence of the property. There was over flowed trash in every trash can on the property I swear I thought I was in a dump. The bedding had terrible stains in it. And the bathroom had pubic hairs around the toilet. The showers are dirty like they have never been cleaned. The sinks clog up easily. All the non smoking rooms smell like freakin smoke. And they told me they will refund me 15.42 of my money and not the full bill because ive been her longer than a hour. Poor poor service. This is a discrace to motel 6 I will not return here ever again. I took my 15 dollar refund and then went to the springhill suites at marriot. I dnt recommend this dump to any one even a homeless person.
