I've stayed here before and really enjoyed it. That's why I came back. Very friendly staff. They are very helpful. Rooms are great! Very clean and well kept. The restaurant downstairs is under construction but the buffet style restaurant they set up on the 11th floor is great. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Wow! I was so impressed with this place, staff were extremely nice and services offered we're a big plus! Location is great, very convenient to the Union station and other food and entertainment areas. They even have a bag check-in area where they store your stuff in lockers if your checking out til later so you don't have to carry it with you everywhere. Rooms were very clean and we loved it! Highly recommend this hotel!

The Staff were very friendly and I commend them greatly. The rooms were also neat and tidy. The reason I gave it 3 stars is because the hotel is a bit dated and the restaurant. The pool is pretty small and it's just a pool and a small exercise room. When it comes to the restaurant it's better off avoided. It's about $26 for an all you can eat breakfast buffet per person and the food was terrible. You would be much better off walking to Union Station where they have many good breakfast places.

My grandson and I stayed with you for four nights last week. Our stay was made more wonderful by your most warm and helpful host Megan Kantor. She helped with directions and suggestions, and I don't think we would have had as great and easy time without her. She is truly a jewel of an employee. The restaurant staff were also very friendly and efficient — — a great experience all around. I'm betting you will have a new customer when the grandson gets older. Many thanks to you all. Location isn't that good and feel unsafe at night if you walk in that neighborhood at night. Two shelters just a block away and a of of homeless people on the street. Breakfast and parking are overpriced. We parked our car in the garage across the street and save half of the money. Breakfast isn't that good and very limited choices. AC isn't working at night and bed/pillows are very uncomfortable. Staffs are very friendly and helpful. That's the only positive thing! That's my second time to DC and I won't recommend this hotel or this area. I booked the hotel in Dupont Circle area last time and feel like more convenient and restaurants around.

My parents stayed here for a work trip, 3 times so far. The rooms look nice and a fridge can be provided upon request. The bathroom is big and the view of the Capitol building is great. The lobby is clean but the entrance is a level up and an escalator takes you down to the lobby. The front door men don't like you taking your own luggage and are strict on cart usage. The surrounding area is quiet at night (most people live else where) but a good number of homeless hang out a block down towards Union Station. Has not been a problem yet other than one asking for money while standing at the hotel entrance. Food near by is good, the dubliner is great Irish food and plenty of other styles just a few blocks away.

The Hyatt Regency Capitol Hill is a top notch hotel with top notch facilities and a top notch staff! I stayed from Saturday to Sunday and everything was better than I expected. The room was clean, comfortable, and cozy. The staff parked our vehicles with a smile, the facility looked amazing, front desk workers were pleasant, helpful and professional, and the restaurant food was delicious. I would highly recommend the Hyatt Regency Capitol Hill to anyone looking for a hotel that evidently prides itself on excellence.

Very nice hotel. Excellent service. Roommate was on the small side but clean comfortable and we'll soundproofed. Meeting area space in basement is not well designed and was not well soundproofed.

Good hotel for sight seeing. Great service at multiple levels from the bellhop, front desk, lobby attendants, and others. Room and bathroom is not modern but clean. Think late 90s/early 00s styling.

Overall the hotel is not bad. The room was plenty spacious for my stay (I was here for a work conference). It was also a decent location. We did have an incident happen one of the nights we stayed and it could have been handled very quickly; however the manager handled it in a very rude and unprofessional way. He never once apologized for what had happened and did not seemed concerned with finding answers for us. I would hope that the manager of a hotel would approach certain situations with professionalism and empathy, but this was not my experience.

Good location, all normal services. Food was good. Staff was fabulous. At one point the staff comped the refreshments ordered by an impromptu meeting. Please leave a good tip for the staff, they still worked.

This hotel experience was AWFUL. They get one star for location and one for having a bed that was pretty comfortable but that's it. Upon arriving the doorman said "you don't need help with your bags, do you" and just stood there. The valets followed us when we got the car back expecting a tip even though it took 20 minutes to get it. The staff at the desk was a mix of friendly and rude. We asked for a fridge and it took 2 hours to get to the room. We also were under the impression from the website that breakfast was free, but when we got there we had to pay. We asked if it was provided with the room fee and were literally laughed at by the host and he said "you know not that I'm aware of" and practically shooed us out of the restaurant. We will NOT be back to the hotel if we visit DC again.

I was disappointed upon checking in at this hotel, they couldn't find my prepaid reservation on their system and the manager Carlos did not want to help the associate with my check-in. They found my reservation after calling someone but they still couldn't get us a room, this whole process took about 45 minutes to get things sorted out. After travelling all morning this is not something you think you need to deal with at a 4 star hotel. On top of that the first room they gave us had a horrible odor but was happy that they switched us to another room immediately. The room was spacious, we got 5 pillows on the bed and lots of towels which we were happy with. The location of the hotel is good, close to the capital and a metro station. The hotel has a huge lobby, it was cool they had a puzzle set up for people to make. There is a market place to buy snacks and beverages. We ate at the restaurant once for breakfast. The food was good, lots of options of the menu and prices were okay. However, we did not appreciate receiving our toast about 10 minutes before the food because then it was cold. Overall, we enjoyed our stay in Washington.

My room and the hotel were very clean. The staff was friendly and the hotel shuttle was very convenient. Only stayed for 8 hours but all and all good experience.

Close to Centro and very large building.

Love it here. What do you expect it's like in the heart of the city. Not far from Union Station, H. Street N. E. Eats and more. Near the subway and off 395 and the Hyatt offers great service. This is a place to visit.

This hotel has everything needed to be a 5 star but the accommodations. The staff is very professional. The rooms are old and antiquated. The beds are lumpy, pillows horrible and the set up has to be from the late 80s. I couldn't believe how bad it was for the price. It definitely needs to be made modern.

This hotel was beautiful and the food was amazing. It has a grand view of the Capitol and feels quite majestic walking in. You really feel like you're in the heart of DC. I did not stay there but had breakfast there for a professional event.

The lobby area was huge and spacious for meeting before see the town. The hotel was within walking distance of the capitol and very clean. I did not stay at this hotel but the best part was the music in the ladies room very very on point.

Excellent staff, great accommodations, and the people working my organization's function could not possibly go out of their way knee to assist is. The only reason this review is not five stars is the poor service I and several of my co-workers received last night at the hotel's restaurant, though the food was excellent. Highly recommended.

I come here yearly. The staff is consistently pleasant and helpful. The rooms are always clean. Pillows are really too soft for my liking… but many would not mind.

Check in today early paid for this. Got the club upgrade went the lady was not their. Now ask where is the Refrigtor at front desk she looked at me like I’d lost my mine. Got one on the floor really it’s on the floor dorm size. Ask for extra luggage rack we have two bags it’s not here. Look for paper on desk to write note down no tablet empty. I thought the Hyatt was a little better than most. Thoughts have change staying two days to long ~ sad. Things we do for our children. You make your own mine up.

Great hotel. Went there for my birthday. The room was nice and clean, nice views. The only downside was the hotel gym and look were closed but other than that, great stay. Recommended.

We were in a great location. Felt safe walking to a few locations around town, city center, union station. Paid more than I would have liked to park my SUV in front of the hotel, 60$ per night, and the parking garage had a 5'10 height limit. My friends had a great bathroom with a tub, while I got stuck with a small walk-in shower. And my toilet was almost touching the wall. Very cramped space for pooping. Also, the staff was very helpful for a few issues that popped up. But they couldn't move that wall.

Yes, the hotel is 3 blocks from Union Station metro stop, but 1 maybe 2 blocks from a large homeless shelter. When I called for directions I was told to be careful and aware of being approached by the homeless. With that being said, walking around at night could be a safety issue. So, stay close to the hotel and just walk to designated areas. The decor is modern and chic. Parking is expensive, so be prepared to use public transportation if possible. This is a favorite for overall location, for tourists, meetings and events. This was the first time ever at any hotel that I was followed and approached coming out of a restroom by security. They informed me that I could not take pictures without the permission of the hotel. I found that interesting because others were, but they did not look like me. Customer service… I will leave that with a question mark.

Great structure that offers different comforts. Also suitable to receive conventions and big events. Great service and cleanliness. The four stars are actually deserved not only for the quality of the service offered but also for the cost that in consideration of the context is contained. The location of the property is also very convenient given the short distance from the station and most of the buildings and points of interest that the city offers.

I really had bad experience with this hotel. My expectations about the brand was not met. Arrived at 9pm and I was told that they needed to put Beds for me in the room that I had to wait. I ask them to show me the room first. The room was mess with no bed and plenty of furniture like so many tables and chairs. Then they took me to another room that was smelling bad. I realize there was vomit in the pillow and bedsheets were soiled. I called them and they moved me to another room slighter better but I saw a moving insect in the pillow. I was terrified and it was going to midnight I just slept with my clothes and checked out early in the morning. I still don’t know if it is a sign of deterioration that just begun or something that occurred one night — whatever the case, it is awful and I hope the management will read this message and fix this mess.

The hotel is in walking distance from Union Station. Room was comfortable, bathroom needed extra roll of tissue in which I stopped by the front desk and asked for the housekeeper to place one in my room. I returned later that night and STILL no toilet tissue in the room. The lobby bar is the only thing open until 11-1130 with overpriced drinks at $12. The kitchen area closes at 10 so you'll have to venture outside the hotel to find late night grub. Most restaurants in the area closes at 11. I received a coupon for the breakfast buffet since I was staying at the hotel. Buffet was great. I saw that there were people who came to the hotel to have breakfast and they had to pay for it.

Very well located near the Capitol and some museums in Washington. The rooms are very spacious and clean.

Nice location. Only minutes from Union Station. Courteous staff, but didn't need them due to online check in and out, as well as room key kiosk. Food for event was the best I've had at a conference of the nature that I attended. Rooms are nice; clean, not too big and not too small.

The Hyatt is a large, newer, and clean hotel in a great location. The front desk staff were very friendly and allowed us to check into room early which was also clean. The bathroom was ok but had very low water pressure. The breakfast buffet needs to be streamlined whether it’s included or not. We got a bill for $25 each and the host said to talk with the front desk. I did and was handed a voucher, got back realized it for one only. Next I had to return to front desk and the next person said it wasn’t included. I waited for the original person I spoke with and she gave me another. I then had to fill out both vouchers and the whole process was way too complicated.

My husband and I stayed there for 4 nights. From start to finish we had a very pleasant experience. The Reception staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and tidy, bathrooms were well equipped with fresh towels and if needed toiletries. Breakfast in our opinion was amazing, so many hot and cold choices we were very impressed. Centrally located. We walked to all the museums / monuments (we are walkers) however you can either cab it or bike it. None of the attractions are dramatically out of reach from this location. Staff are very pleasant and welcoming, Yes I would stay here again and will do on my next visit to DC!

I attended a small conference at the Hyatt and from the standpoint of the hotel services it was very nice. The lunch buffet provided by the hotel was by far one of the best I have had it any of these types of events. The conference room was quite nice and the staff as they moved around the room throughout the event where virtually invisible. All in all they provided a great venue and great service.

The stay and staff were very helpful, courteous, and professional. The room that we stayed in was very neat and clean. The parking in the city however was extremely expensive, for a truck it was $65 for 24 hours. Overall this was a beautiful hotel and you can see the Capital building from the street.

The hotel is a 10 minute walk from Union Station. The rooms could use a bit of updating, but are still comfortable and fine for an overnight stay. I've never stayed longer than one day, so I can't speak to extended stays. Room service is decent, and a lot cheaper than the Liaison Capitol Hill across the street. My room had a stall shower, unfortunately with low water pressure.

I have stayed here many times. The location is prime for attractions. The staff is super nice and helpful. The rooms are supreme. Generally the price is affordable for the area. Union Station is a quick walk also.

Nice hotel. Pool is very clean. There are good simulators and a sauna. A restaurant downstairs with a tasty kitchen.

We Really enjoyed our stay at this location. Everyone was friendly and accommodating, especially Stephen-who answered all our questions and greeted us every time we saw him. The room was clean, quiet and comfortable. It was spacious for two people and had a refrigerator but no microwave. Breakfast was good, there was something different every morning. Quick two block walk to metro rail (unlimited pass was a must to navigate around the city) and a great little pharmacy/grocery store is around the corner (Harris Teeter). Capitol was a pretty good walk… wouldn't have minded if it wasn't so hot. Overall great stay! We would definitely stay here again.

The staff is very friendly and willing to help. I appreciate a hotel team that is social media conscious. Don't feel like calling the front desk, they are quick to respond via Twitter. Location is great for those on business in D. C. Or on holiday. Just minutes from the Capital, The Mall, and most of the Smithsonian. Walking distance to Union Station. Excellent foos.

Met someone in town for a meeting at the hotel. Rooms are nice and bathroom is big with a nice shower but no tub. Lobby is nice but it's split into two levels. Makes luggage handling weird. It's close to some decent bars. The Dubliner is more expensive but has much better food than Kelly's. Less like bar food and more like real Irish fair. Parking at the hotel is expensive but across the street has a garage at half the price. Capitol Hill is two blocks away. Overall a great place!

Nice regency club and amazing staff. The location is just a stone throw away from the union station. If you are lucky you may even get a room with a view of the Capitol Building.

The Hyatt is in such a good location, really close the the national mall and has a great view. The rooms were also nice, clean, and very spacious. The service was also great, everyone was very nice and kind.

Great location and excellent hotel! The customer service was impeccable! From the time that we checked in until the time that we left, we were always greeted with a smile and offers to make our stay better. I would highly recommend this hotel!

Good experience although you pay for the location. Would have been much happier with a hot tub after touring DC all day. Parking was inconvenient and not available on site without valet. Room was comfortable and clean but felt a little small and lacked refrigerator.

I'm going to start my comments for this hotel only, about the elevator. I think I counted 7, but I felt for a long time. However, this doesn't prevent me from living in Hyatt, and I recommend this hotel to everyone. Within walking distance you can reach the Washington Monument, there are a few shops and food that can be selected. I look forward to my next trip to Washington, also lived here.

Great check in process with no issues. Freindly guest services as well. Confortable bed, clean bathroom and easy temp controls. No issues using their Wi-Fi. I'll stay in the future.

The employees were fantastic, the rooms were great and the building inside was beautiful. The only thing I was a little disappointed in was the gym because it had fewer treadmills then I expected. The hotel is within walking distance from a lot of historic sites and always had taxies ready.

Underwhelming. Breakfast buffet was underwhelming. Rooms were underwhelming. Ambiance was underwhelming. Felt like staying at Contemporary in Disney. Nice but not quite earning its 4 star rating.

The room was very nice and clean. The cable service kept going out, other than that the staff, and my stay was vet enjoyable.

Regency should be one of the better Hyatts, but this was probably the worst one I've stayed at. I also forgot a pc mouse in the room and called them a few hours later to hear "The housekeeper didn't find anything in the room". Money and Hyatt points are better spent elsewhere.

We love the Hyatt. Wherever we travel, The Regency is our hotel of choice, and Capitol Hill has been no different. Close to all of the attractions on the National Mall. Short walk to the nearest metro station. Staff is friendly and hotel is clean. There is a homeless shelter one block away from the hotel going towards the National Mall, which is worth noting. But other than that wonderful experience.

Other than the high prices of everything in DC, this hotel was great. Nice clean rooms, excellent staff, great breakfast buffet for a reasonable price, fantastic proximity to the Capitol and Ubers were always readily available.

Last summer, the last D. C. This house, the Hyatt, the location is good, in the hill side, the only not-so-good, but no Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi are Extra, the lobby had Wi-Fi on. There is a lot of black people, the waitress said, Listen I don't know, the last day of checkout after we send there stuff at the hotel, no one to take Luggage, a black guy and we were talking, the accent is too heavy to put on?! Something is not listening to him again, saying, Jon, was.

With a very convenient city location and a good brand name attached thereto, the Hyatt Regency in DC has a lot going for it. The hotel itself is a very short cab or bus ride to Union Station though your best bet is to walk there. The walk takes a short ten minutes on most days. The Hyatt, with its central location can be on the pricier side. This is quite apparent when you shop rates in nearby neighborhoods and Northern Virginia. The staff are quite polished in the day though others in my group had some not so great encounters later in the evening. Room interiors could definitely use a touching up here and there. Age is taking its toll on this Hyatt property and hopefully the owners will see this. All-in-all, the hotel will serve you based on its location within the city. If you're seeking a more dazzling hotel, then check out the nearby Marriott Marquis at the convention center.

The Hyatt Regency in Washington DC is a 10 minute walk from Union Station, and within 20 minutes of the Smithsonian and numerous other attractions. Room rates can be a little on the high side because of this, but if you can get a good rate, you'll enjoy it. Room service is slightly limited, but everything I've ordered is delicious. The beds are very comfortable, and I often sleep better there than at home. Unlike a lot of pricier DC hotels, they account for forgetting toiletries at home and will provide them at no cost. My only complaint is with in-room TV service. The sets are showing their age and channel selection is quite limited. Of the maybe 40 channels, less than 10 are in HD. An issue when the TV distorts SD content.

The check in process was very fast, and good hospitality both at front desk and restaurant. Room and bed preparation was excellent, the price was reasonable. Close to Museums and attractions.

Room was pretty rough around the edges. Light switch didn't work, bathroom door (which doubled as a sliding door for the closet?!?! ) was stuck. Shower quite low on water pressure.

The hotel is beautiful. It's close to all the downtown attractions. There is easy access to all transportation. Our room was changed to a hypoallergenic room for our needs. The staff was so friendly and helpful.

Great location! Easy walk to Union Station and the Capital building. We walked to various museums along the mall and to the White House as well. Several good restaurants are nearby and a Starbucks across the street. Staff was extremely helpful from front desk to housekeeping and concierge. Easy cab stand out front as well when you are done walking. I would also point out that while we were there they were kid friendly with kids movies in the evening. The only negative was that the building is a little dated.

Shit like place! We arrived around mid night. It took the woman at front desk 10 mins to finish check-in. She continuously picked up service calls and apparently she can't mutiltask as well as she thinks. Guys working at valet parking just DO NOT help. They were fighting with a group of drunk customers lol. The room is completely a failure. AC sounds like an airplane taking off. We had to turn it off; however, there is some kind of device behind the wall making weird sound like a subwoofer.

I was trying to glean information about the hotel distance to and from Howard University. The hotel staff answered part of my question, then suggest that I call the hotel concierge on tomorrow regarding travel distance on the Metro. Really! Poor Customer service. I'm trying to book a room like now. The proper suggestion would have been, "Please hold while I get my manager to assist". You just lost a sell tonight buddy!

I've been to ALOT of Hyatts. This is probably the worst. No refrigeration or even microwaves in the rooms. In an expensive hotel of 11 floors you have to go all the way to the second floor for a microwave or even a soda from the vending machine. Good staff and decorating but that's it.

The only good thing about this hotel is its location. All the other things pretty much sucked. Very smelly, terrible rooms. When I checked into the hotel it was 3am in the morning due to a flight delay and it took the staff a good 15 minutes to check me in. His English was kinda of poor as well. They tell you it has a business center but it's a Fedex center and you have to pay for it. This hotel is definitely not good enough for 4 stars.

I was in town for an event. This hotel was a booked block of rooms. At first I was very happy, they were able to accomidate a very early arrival with an open room. Staff were friendly. The room size was smaller, for a party of 4 but ok. How much time will you be spending in it? For the time you do spend in the room, there is no mini fridge. The valet was more expensive than I expected, other parking nearby for hotels closer to metro stations was much cheaper. Then there was the shower. The temp was fully adjustable. The flow was full blast, like being hosed off with a pressure washer, and the tub drain couldn't keep up with that. At the end of a shower you were standing in pool. I can't comment on the other facilities I didn't use them. I had more than enough exercise getting around DC.

The hotel is in a good location and is clean. However, the room was fairly small. Our room was right across from a fire station so we heard sirens at all hours of the night.

Just returned from staying here for a typical vacation tour. All of staff were helpful and respectful. The Manager and Assistant Manager, Blair and Matt, led their teams. Fine young leaders. Saw them deal very well with some guests who were not nice people. LOL! They went above and beyond for my girlfriend and I would normally get in the way of service and comfort.

The room was clean and bed was good. The location was good. It was nearby the Union station, and I can walk to the Capital. For the National Mall, I got on the bus in front of the hotel. If I visit DC, I would like to stay again.

Very helpful staff. I left my daughter's blanket in our room and didn't realize it until hours after we had checked out. We went back to the hotel and staff were quickly able to retrieve it. Great service.

Like sleeping on a sheet of metal. No customer service. For 120 you can get a lot more in this area a few blocks away. Air was broken and not fixed despite four conversations with a manager. Rooms small and dinky.

Rooms need upgrade. Great location and accessible to Metro and shopping area.

Good location as you can walk to the Capitol, the Mall and the Smithsonian Museums from here. The rooms were nicely kept and clean. The restaurant is in the center of the lobby and offers delicious meals both dinner and breakfast. The service is a bit slow but you can do a lot of people watching while you wait. Great location.

I always enjoy pulling up to a hotel and arguing with ghetto employees about how I need to use valet instead. I would figure a hyatt hotel would hire people not right off the streets. The rooms are small and you have great views of people working and staring back at you. My bathroom door doesn't look because it's broken but that's nothing big. I tried to upgrade to one of their Capitol suits and when they said they had none left, they hung up on me. Don't worry, I'm only staying for a day and I will spend my money elsewhere. However, great location for bars around the Capitol. That is all.

I arrived with my friend at around 10:00pm expecting a room with two beds, which we had called a day in advance to confirm. However, after waiting a solid 15 minutes to be helped, we were told we could only get a single king size bed and a rollaway if we wanted. They were apologetic and gave us a $50 card for anything in the hotel (which we ended up using entirely on a breakfast buffet that had the same thing a free continental breakfast would have at any other hotel). Internet was not free either, in fact you had to pay a ridiculous amount for service. I also left a notebook in my room, and tried calling to ask if they'd seen it and had it somewhere — after waiting on hold for another 15 minutes with no help (other than two people who barely spoke English and put me on hold right away), I got a recording telling me they couldn't come to the phone. Considering the price of the stay, and the fact that they charge you for practically EVERYTHING, the Hyatt Regency on Capitol Hill was far from quality and far from achieving customer satisfaction. I've stayed in some of the oldest, run down hotels and they had better service than this place. The only reason they get away with it is because of the great location. Would not recommend this to anyone, and am certainly not going back myself. Hated it.
