Great staff with very comfortable beds. We were facing the front of the hotel and didn't find it noisy at all. If you do find it noisy they provide ear plugs which I found nice. Overall great hotel and just a few minutes walk to union station. Would recommend.

Good folks and don't get in your way. The rooms are small but concerned it was built in 1920 it's good. The Bar there has really nice people the Bartender I like was Lem he Irish and can make a good Drink. The front staff was very helpful with our family Reunion and provide us with a great experience with Washington DC. One thing I would like to advise that you look at your check out bill make sure there are no parking charged to your room. We parked on union Station and got billed for valet parking. Manager took care of it Quickly and offered us and upgrade next time we are there for free.

We had a great time in DC. The Phoenix Park was a great hotel! The staff were very professional and helpful. The hotel is positioned in a great area. Right across the street is the National Postal Museum. The Dubliner restaurant had great food, a little pricey but expected that in DC. Would stay at the Phoenix Park again. The bathroom was a little small but it's a very old historic building so I don't think there's anything they could do about that.

Highly professional, friendly staff. This hotel is nice; rooms are efficiently small but not cramped and all are very nicely styled and comfortable. They have a coffee bar in the morning, and the attached restaurant (the Dubliner) is pretty decent. The building itself is very well kept and up to date. I had an excellent stay here and would highly recommend it. I will definitely come back the next time I am visiting.

We always stay at this hotel every time we visit the city. It was great before but after the remodel it's really a fantastic place to stay. The staff are so friendly and nothing was amiss. We always recommend this hotel to our friends that are visiting the capital.

Would not recommend. Rooms are very small and have no sound privacy. We checked in on a Thursday. Got to our room and heard every noise from the alley, room next door, and hallway. When we addressed with the hotel they refused to assist or refund. I wish the hotel had better management because it has awesome character and could be a wonderful place to stay. We left the hotel when it became apparent that management didn't care about our satisfaction. We should have listened to the other reviews where people complain about the same thing. Stay away. There are other great hotels in DC that care more about the customer.

I loved this hotel on the corner near the Union Station train stop, could walk to the Capitol and many other beautiful places, plus there are nearby train stations.

I won't stay here again. I arrived early and they said they already had a room ready. I was in town on business. The room was tiny with no desk. It also was right next to the ice machine. They said they would have another room later in the day so I went to my conference and came back in the afternoon. They put me in a room that had a "built in" desk. This room was smaller than the first and the desk was so small it only fit a laptop. The bathroom was very small, no counter or anywhere to put toiletries. It was also filthy. Crumbs, pennies on the floor, stained carpets, greasy forehead and finger prints on the Windows. I requested the room be cleaned again. Housekeeping came while I went to dinner. Came back and the room smelled better but was in the same condition. There isn't even a closet, just a built in shelf with a place to hang clothes that's about 10" wide, the ironing board is kept there too. A coworker was put in a suite that was very nice but the rooms appear to be either tiny and dirty or large and plush, no in between.

It's a lovely old hotel on top of a nice Irish Pub. The staff is great and the rooms comfortable enough. It's within easy walking of Union central and the Capitol. It is however, in a word, cramped. Reminded me of a cruise ship stateroom. Also loud enough that they provide ear plugs.

This is an elegent and nicely put together hotel. It is conveniently located a block from Union Station. The rooms are smaller than other hotels, but are very elegent with comfortable beds, and nice bath products. There is no coffee service in the rooms, but you can get breakfast in the adjoining hotel. My mother loves staying here!

Improved over years ago because they remodeled the lobby. It seems more spacious there now. Nice to be so close to union station. However, it's not handicapped friendly at all. The elevators are very small and the rooms are small for anyone with a wheelchair. There's a nice conference room, but it's hard to maneuver with s wheelchair because of the limited space. There aren't HP buttons to access doors. Decent hotel for most people, but not recommended for people with mobility issues.

Listen… The rooms are nice in the sense that they have a nice bed. They chose a nice mattress and down comforter That's where it stops being good. The rooms are small. There is no coffee machine in each individual room. And on the 2nd floor each morning they have coffee but it's not that good either and a very limited supply. The staff is very nice over the phone and in person but they won't be able to help in any way. And they blame it on we don't have it or we can't do that "sorry" They're aren't any good restaurants near by. The mall isn't very close. There really isn't any reason to stay here. There are better deals to be had and closer to the mall area or the restaurants so keep searching is my advise.

Very convenient to union station. Excellent restaurant. The rooms are pretty small and it's not very HP friendly with small elevators and not easily accessible doors or maneuvering space for people in wheelchairs or walkers.

Updated recently this centrally located hotel is walking distance from both Union Station and most Capital office buildings. The rooms are small but comfortable fearing walk in showers. The only downside is the only on site restaurant is the Dubliner pub which also supplies the room service. While the food they have is well done it's a very limited menu. Fortunately there are many meal options from fast food at Union Station to area restaurants all within walking distance.

There are some really horrible rooms in this hotel (brick wall view, cramped and tiny), but there are also amazing penthouse suites looking over at Union Station. Great location, very strange lobby, but the Dubliner is attached, a genuine Irish pub, a complete blast. Hard to love this place, but then I've stayed there multiple times over the years.

Staff were friendly and great at accomodating our needs. The windows did not latch properly, causing a draft but otherwise we had no trouble. Peaceful stay and clean rooms.

I surprised my girlfriend with a visit here. The Dubliner bar was packed, and not too nice with the crowds. The hotel was very good, but I wish they had free pastries to go with the free coffee.

Allowed us to check in early. We love the location to the hill and union station! Great food and drinks in the Dubliner. Service was excellent.

Nice comfortable hotel. Rooms are a little small but adequate enough for 2 people. The shower is great. The front desk staff was nice, but we never were visited by housekeeping.

A wonderful gem located near our Nations Capital. While in town take the time to visit the Dubliner for authentic beverages and food. They also have live entertainment most evenings. The Dubliner is adults only, not recommended for children. The Phoenix Park is an older but very hotel. Their rooms have the best beds and linens in the area. Look for specials when booking, this part of D. C. Can be expensive. You will be within waking distance of the historic Union Station, another must see and experience. They have a variety of shops that will satisfy most shoppers. They also have many different eateries that have high quality items.

Very clean and modern. Very nice staff, they were so helpful. Close to Union Station and the National Mall. Short walk to really great food downtown!

Hotel was perfect. The restaurant attached to it was horrible. I ordered chicken fingers to go. I asked for ketchup. Bar tender insisted that ketchup was in the bag. I told her it was not and she sent another server to open all the contents of my order to verfy that the one pack of ketchup I asked for was not in the bag. Basically touched all of my food just to realize that they indeed forgot to give me one packet of ketchup…

Attended a wedding there. The food was delicious, but the room where the ceremony was held wasn't very private. Staff and other guest list could consistently be heard walking past or sometimes through the event. Nice atmosphere.

Hotel is located very close and convenient to Union Station. It's an older building, but recently remodeled. The elevators are not for anyone claustrophobic, but are new, quiet, and fast. Decent TV options in the room and great water pressure in the shower. I did not look into room service, as there is an Irish pub attached and accessible from the lobby.

Nice old but renovated hotel close to Union Station. It was clean and the bathrooms were nicer than some newer hotels in the area but the space was a bit small. Also had a room with no view. The staff were friendly and we got to check in early. Do not recommend the restaurant the Dubliner.

Historic building with modern amenities. I agree, the rooms were kind of on the small side, but not cramped by any means. And the bathrooms are awesome with a shower big enough for 2+! The historic architecture of the building is beautiful. The elevators were tiny, but fit in with the architecture. And no one can argue that the location is A1! Now if only they could do something with the D. C. Traffic!

This hotel is very beautiful. It is close to the capitol building and is walking distance to many activities and restaurants. The rooms are updated and clean and the staff if very helpful and friendly. I would definitely come again. I just wish they served complimentary breakfast in the mornings.

They were so lovely! Our room was beautiful and spacious. They provided a crib for our son and let him choose a gift from their toy box. The restaurant below was great & the coffee in the morning was very tasty! It's a cute little boutique hotel and it was in walking distance to everything we wanted to see.

We stayed for 4 nights and had a wonderful experience. Newly renovated rooms, so nice! Staff are so accommodating in everyway. Doorman is always on duty, front desk staff has a welcome for you every time you arrive or leave. Located near a Union Station. Makes it Very easy to catch your train.

The staff is polite, for sure. Dubliners has great food and drink. The rooms are fresh, modern, clean, but small. It's got a compact Euro feel to it. I like the fresh rooms, but too small. My view is brick out the window. Outside too loud. And we on the 9th floor sirens howl all night.

I dined at the Dubliner Irish restaurant attached to the hotel. Very accessible location. The food was fantastic (I had the Irish beef stew), very attentive service, and an all around pleasant experience. Would recommend heartily!

Overall the hotel is nice. Great location in regards to the Capitol, Senate and Houses Buildings, Teamsters Headquarters, and the Washington Mall. Some of the problems include very poor placement of the smoke detectors, the shower steam sets them off, the biggest problem as I see it is the ever permeating odor. The entire hotel smells like fish from the Dubliner Pub down stairs. The noise from the pub pierces the walls of the rooms and the smell is ever present. Unfortunately there is nothing they can really do about that so just make sure you know what you are getting in to. I would probably stay here again even knowing the problems as the renovated rooms are very nice and you cannot beat the location.

Beautiful rooms, very comfortable beds. Adjacent to Union Station and the Mall, cannot beat that location.

Well I booked a room online that was supposed to have 2 beds because we stayed there for my birthday and there were 4 of us. Booked the room and when we got there, they said it was 1 bed. Wouldn't accommodate us even after I showed them my reservation. Its terrible because this isn't the first time I've stayed here. We stayed here one other time and it was a great experience. They made sure everything was taken care of when we were there. This time, it's like they couldn't care less about their guests.

Rooms are comfortable, hotel is clean and staff is polite. No mini bar and rooms can be small.

Staff were super… restaurant delicious, loved the location. Upon check-in and first arriving to our room, front desk contacted us to upgrade when they realized there were three of us including our 7 year old… free of charge.

Recently stayed at this hotel for the third time. I can't recommend it enough. Staff is super friendly and helpful, location is great and the rooms are very nice. They're not the biggest rooms but I'm not traveling to stay in the hotel so it's not an issue. The beds are super comfortable also.

Stayed here for our 7th wedding anniversary. Our room was amazing, we paid for the upgraded room with 2 walls of Windows with a great view. All of the staff were amazing and everyone we met were super nice. This hotel has a cool vintage look with a great bar thru a door near the elevator called the dubliner. There is a city bike share right outside and it's a great location for site seeing. Excellent hotel at an affordable price.

I didn't know what to expect. You know how website photos make rooms look larger and more glamorous than they really are. And I only had time to graze thru the reviews this time. Anyway, we were quite pleased! The staff is super friendly and helpful. The hotel is as clean as can be. The beds are plush and comfortable. The only downside is that the rooms are small, and so I was going to rate it 4 stars, but to be fair, this hotel adjusts its prices due to the room sizes. Fair enough. It is a bit frustrating when I have to wiggle and squeeze to get into the computer desk, b/c I can only pull the desk chair out a couple of inches before it hits the bed. Oh well. Location is GREAT if you arrived by Amtrak train in Union Square, which we did. It's literally a four-minute walk from Union Square to this hotel. You can rent bikes for $8 a day across the street. It was quiet. Someone complained that there were no mirrors in the room; we had two big mirrors in our room. I'll come here again!

The room was very large, with windows on two sides and housekeeping closets on the other and across the hall. Very isolated and peaceful. Loved it. Would recommend.

Possibly the WORST HOTEL EVER! HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! First off they took my debit card and over charged it three times! Wasn't willing to help me wasn't willing to refund my money! They are some. Scammers that work in this hotel! Horrible service and I rather slit my wrist then walk in this nightmare hotel ever again! Please save yourself and dont even bother getting a room here.

While the location is quite convenient, the walls are thin and the rooms are small. One member of our group had to move rooms to avoid the noise of the Dubliner bar on the ground floor of the hotel so keep that in mind when booking.

I was at the Phoenix Park Hotel, in Washington D. C. For a business trip. The entire time we were there our needs were taken care of with smiles on their faces. Despite the frigid weather, the bellmen were quick to help us in and out and the front desk personnel were friendly and helpful to a fault. The Dubliner restaurant/bar inside the hotel was also a plus.

Cool place. Recommend it for business travel and price are affordable. Well done.

Wifi not working and terrible customer service. When I arrived, I was cheerfully given my key and the code for the Wi-Fi. I was in DC for work and needed a hotel with Wi-Fi. In my room, I immediately tried to log in and was unable to connect. When I called the desk I was told that they were changing carriers and Wi-Fi was not going to work for at least 24 hours. Repeated calls to management resulted in no returned calls or attempts to remediate the situation. Terrible customer service.

Clean, good location, tiny, ancient rooms. Less than helpful staff. $22 parking a block away or $50 valet.

We were traveling by train and this hotel was close by Union Station, the Capitol, Union Station and the Big Red Bus service. Little did we know how wonderful the hotel and the staff would be. From the time we checked in until we left, the people at the hotel were so nice. If you truly want a wonderful, historic hotel close to everything with great service and staff, you should stay here. They had the most comfortable bed we have ever had in our travels. Truly great night sleep and we needed it as we traveled around Washington for hours each day. Thanks Phoenix Park Hotel. We plan on coming again and will certainly stay there.

Came in for a convention of over 900 people. Second stay at hotel and recommended it to many of my colleagues so there was a number of us staying in the hotel. I knew the rooms were small and walls are thin but I liked it enough to stay again. Bell staff and housekeeping staff were very nice. This time was a different experience. Had a broken heater, key card never worked more than a couple hours (regardless of going through screening machines or keeping the key in the safety jacket), we had a horrible mix up between charging my company card vs. Personal bank card for final bill. Desk staff did a remarkable job of getting it straightened out but prior to it happening I had decided this hotel will not be for me or my colleagues the next time we are in town. Why not one star? Location and maybe you will have better luck.

The place is very nice to rest.
