Our go-to for weekend getaways in Virginia Beach. Yes it's an older motel and not fancy — — but the rooms are clean, the staff is friendly & accommodating, and the price is right.

Very accommodating comfortable and a great beach view.

This is the smallest, oldest, and least tall of all the hotels along VA Beach. It was simple as can be. It was vintage but very clean. Well located in relation to restaurants and grocery store. The staff were the highlight. All were over-the-top friendly. The bottom floor rooms were all VIP in the sense that the boardwalk and beach were steps away, and we came to go to the beach! If that’s your priority, this is your place. Slightly lower price. Nonetheless if I was rich, I’d still probably stay here again.

All oceanfront rooms, 3 floors (accessed by stairs), and our room was very clean, as was outdoor patio furniture, and pool. Really liked the use of bikes, which were included during stay, and all staff were very friendly. Breakfast included offered various cereals, milk, oatmeal, bagels, pastries, yogurt, apples, juices, coffee, with condiments of peanut butter, cream cheese, butter, jellies. Great value for oceanfront view just steps from boardwalk and beach. They help with parking in to their lot when you arrive. Nicely furnished non-smoking rooms with TV, small fridge, microwave, and personal coffeemaker. Housekeeping daily with beds made and fresh towels. We had a really nice stay!

Located directly on the boardwalk and beach this quaint little hotel is a gem. The staff are so friendly and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

I loved staying here! We stayed here so we could have some days on the beach without having to pay for parking. The people at the desk are amazing. We had help unloading our bags and taking items up to the room. The rooms were clean. Absolutely nothing bad or mediocre to say. Highly recommend.

We have been staying here on our beach vacation for years. The location right on the boardwalk makes the easy beach access perfect for us since we spend our days sitting on the beach. The staff is always friendly and helpful and the rooms are clean and comfortable. You don't need much more than that This isn't a luxury hotel but they also don't advertise as one. If you are looking for value for your money then this place is it. We love our little "home away from home" in Virginia Beach.

Great check in and checkout, awesome beachfront view, pool was lovely and the other guests were friendly. Manager was knowledgeable and very hands on. I felt safe and respected traveling alone with my children as a woman. Cheers!

Five stars all the way. The staff was very friendly and my parents were getting their vowels renewed and they present them with a picture they made for them said happy 27th anniversary Mr. And Mrs. Black. One of the nicest motels I have ever stayed in. Clean rooms, clean pool area and they also let you rent free bicycles during the day. There is also a continental breakfast in the lobby. Would recommend this Motel if you're on a budget.

From desk personnel, to maintenance/parking, to housekeeping, the obvious guests first attitude and friendliness of the staff made it clear to us why this hotel has earned repeated Platinum Awards for value. Every single member of the staff with whom we interacted made us feel as if our interests were their only priority. It's difficult to express how their relaxed friendliness and willingness to serve enhanced our stay. The hotel's prime location on the beach and boardwalk as well as its simple walk-up three story structure helped differentiate it from the mammoth high rise chain hotels on every side. We also appreciated the free, conveniently located parking and the clean, attractive outside swimming pool and sun deck. All in all our stay at the Virginia Beach EconoLodge was a first rate experience.

Our family has been coming to this hotel since the mid 90s. The hotel owner and staff are awesome. Henry, Leonard, Art, Brittany, and staff go out of their way to provide great southern hospitality. Booked here as a last minute weekend trip (Memorial Day). Wasn't expecting much based on the appearance, but was quickly impressed with how friendly all staff was and how helpful they were were with everything. We were concerned about parking given our late arrival time, but discovered that an attendant had already saved us spots in the lot since we had reservations. Excellent ocean front room, with very easy and quick access to the beach. Would definitely return.

It was okay rooms were decent not my favorite hotel. Some rooms had some archaic TVs.

Alright first off in stetchy area bunch creepers around here the false aversment pose have pool I see no pool in this hotel the free breakfast was alright could clean sheets better looks dirty the coughs and beds. Give only one towl not few just one and the AND THE HOT WATER DON'T LAST"! DEFINIALLY NOT WORTH 200 STAY!

Small hotel but big on hospitality unlike larger hotels. Will definitely stay again.

Room service was good, but the lady at night on front desk was not very welcoming.

Workers are very helpful and friendly. Free bike rental while you stay there. All rooms are ocean view.

I booked a room here for the Shamrock Marathon back in March. The staff was courteous and the rooms were very clean. They were nice enough to put out the continental breakfast a few hours early during the weekend for those of use who were running. Most of the hotel bikes were rusty and old, but they had air in the tires and functioned. The hotel obviously isn't a five-star resort, but for the price and the great location I'd definitely recommend staying here.

I stayed here for Valentine's Day weekend to celebrate my boyfriend's 50th birthday. The rooms were clean and the front desk staff were very nice, they also told us which restaurants to at and things to do in the city. I can't wait to go back!

Probably your best bang for your buck on the Virginia Beach oceanfront. Pretty far from all the sights but the price is worth it.

This hotel double charged my account for $302 and I cannot get in contact with any manager or supervisor to settle this. Its been 6 months and no one has responded to my email or voicemail. If your going book here please use a prepaid card with only the funds for your stay on it. The management sucks and I actually have an better business bureau claim out on this hotel.

This was our 3rd stay at this hotel over the last 15 years or so. We first stayed thee because it was way cheaper than any other ocean front we could find and was the most we could afford. We are able to afford a fancier/taller/more modern hotel now, but we keep going back to this place because we have never been disappointed. Our rooms have always been clean and comfortable, the staff is always courteous and helpful. As mentioned in other reviews, the parking is tight (It looks like the city took some of their parking area for the public access between them and the next place), but they always have someone watching the lot and helping you get into and out of the available spots so that has never been a problem.

Traveling with a party of six adults and an infant. We were given adjoining rooms for $96 a room. Which was awesome. However, shortly after settling in we got locked out of one of our rooms. After seven jogs from our third floor rooms to the first floor lobby (no elevator) to attempt to explain to the manager that the card reader wasn't working and being sent back with new key cards (which were of no use due to the broken card reader). The security guard demanded the master key for our room from the clerk and attempted to let us into our room. The key was to large to fit into the lock. After all of this the desk clerk/manager basically told us that there was nothing she could do to help us get into the room. All of our money was in the locked room, left with no other options a member of our group was forced to climb across our third floor balcony and open the adjoining door between the rooms. I am disgusted with my experience here and will be demanding compensation for our ruined trip (we were only in town for one night over half of which was spent getting into our room). Also, we could not use the Wi-Fi without leaving our rooms as the signal was very weak and was continually interrupted. Upon talking to the morning clerk am hopeful that they will do the honorable thing and give us at least a partial refund. Will update my review upon conclusion.

The staff are super friendly, but my room had a bunch of flies and the furnishings are way old and worn. You're definitely paying for the oceanfront view here because the accommodations just aren't so hot.

We stayed here last summer. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. The rooms were better quality than what we paid to stay here, so it was more than worth the money. The location was the best part of this hotel: a few steps from the boardwalk without the price of every other hotel around it.

Needs and upgrade there priced to high. It was clean, customer service is great, people are polite.

Excellent motel with a great value. Room was very clean and had a flat screen tv. Staff was excellent and was very accommodating. Will definitely stay again.

Overpriced for this motel. No parking. No hot water at peak times. Outdated decor. A/c went on the fritz in the night. No screened-in porch for the ocean. Open door=bugs. Staff was very nice but obviously, the owner puts zero money back into this motel.

I don't know if the place has been renovated since (scott) left his review, but I found it perfect for the value. Clean rooms, great view, staff that was very accomodating to our needs. The continental breakfast was yum to the ee! I will stay here again when I return.
