When I first arrived, I noticed the AC made a horrible loud screechy, whiny noise. I asked the front desk when I went down for dinner if someone could look at it and I was told that is just what they sound like. When I got back I couldn’t find parking in their lot. I double parked to run inside to see what I should do… I was told to park 2 blocks away and walk back through a questionable neighborhood, homeless people sleeping on the sidewalk, and road construction to get to the hotel. As a woman alone late in the evening, I did not feel at all safe. When I got into my room and was getting ready for bed, I noticed the AC wouldn’t adjust off the bitter cold setting so I figured I’d just have to deal with it. I got into the bed and found the 2 pillows provided on the full bed were flat as a pancake. I had to fold them over and stack them with the questionably laundered decorative pillow in order to sleep on my side without my head tilting down uncomfortably. Thank goodness I did not have to share the flat as a pancake pillows. Also to my chagrin, there was no blanket to be found, only 2 flat sheets on the bed. I woke up at 3am freezing and had to put sweat pants and a sweatshirt on to be able to go back to sleep. I figured, while I was awake in the middle of the night, I’d try to get the AC to adjust again. I turned it off and turned it back on before I could finally get the buttons to kind of work and adjusted it up about 7 degrees. I would have called the front desk if there was a phone in my room; I was not about to go downstairs to the front desk in my pajamas. Though, if I did, I wouldn't have to worry about locking myself out of my room — the door swung open by itself instead of closed. And, the slide lock was broken off — — not secure at all.
