Reviews of Hilton Vacation Club Ocean Beach Club Virginia Beach 3*
Beautiful view! Very spacious and comfortable with extra linens and great customer service.
Everything about this place was simply amazing! Everyone had an awesome time!
No toilet paper but has ice cream sandwiches. Concierge tried to get me to buy a time share but I spent $50 on cheese at Harris teeter insteAd.
Rude front desk. Wife's license was stolen, room was prepaid and she had her credit card and a copy of her passport id but they wouldn't check her and my two children into the room. When she tried to explain that she was hours from home, they couldn't care less. They were asked to call a manager to see if someone could do something but refused. Horrible people and horrible experience.
Location and views are a given, it’s on the oceanfront! I was disappointed with the customer service and not being able to speak to a manager to express a concern. I was told that I would get a phone call back from a manager, which did not happen. I needed to express a concern about an interaction with a staff member. Customer service can make or break your establishment!
We love this place! They are always so accommodating and pleasant. This is our home away from home.
This was the worse experience ever the manager are rude I check in my room on August 9 was told I could get on list around 230 that never happen then when I get in my room it was dirty I came spoke front desk they advise have some to clean it now we going through COVID 19 so I know they didn’t sanitize the room they after they said they clean it there was still chips on phone I went store brought my own cleaner supply spoke day manager and she try her best then as day continue I had friend and family come to have a beach party that one complaint old music or nothing we stay at pool area and beach as 10 approached guest that left their valuables in room went to get and told by security that we were having a party and told by night party not let them in room I leave beach to see was going on I was told I couldn’t come in it a lot people down there and it wasn’t just my family and friends but as soon I came front desk I ask to speak to a manger and I was leaving because bad experience I told to call general manager as I talk to night manager she tell me I been there for 8 hours and I wasn’t going get my money I was claim and talk to her to trying get my final invoice by that call the police I explain police I was here diffused the issue and just want to leave after I explain to night manger about she kept telling me life I was there started something she ask the police to escort me while my wife was upstairs packing to leave I call the number and gave first manager plus the
Nice people and very good service.
Has great oceanfront view.
Excellent location!
2nd time staying at the Ocean Beach Club. Great amenities, friendly safe. Love the kitchen, it's like home away from home. Always a pleasure staying there.
Great hotel, nice amenities and family friendly.
Great location and amenities.
I loved the studio room we stayed at. Loved the front desk people. Very kind and friendly. Room is very clean. I mentioned it was my birthday. And got an upgrade to beach front room. I was in heaven! LOVE the idea of adult swimming pool. Great add. Very nice gateway.
During our stay there, we were invited to take part in a timeshare presentation which ended with extreme and disrespectful, hard sales tactics. Despite us fulfilling our part, participating in good faith and sincerely considering their membership program, engaging with them for 4 hours, they refused to honor their end of the agreement. Once we made it clear this was not a good fit for us, they acted all friendly and appreciative of our time, and move to process us out to provide us with the enticement gifts they promised in exchange for our time and attention, but in reality they proceeded to throw 3 more sales reps at us, one after the other with more sales pitches, under the guise of giving us out gifts. Tired, blood-sugar dropping and blood-pressure rising, we made it clear again respectfully this was not a good fit for us and that we were done, and asked that they wrap this up. But they were not having it, insistent that we listened to some more sales pitches. When we pleaded again, most exasperated, they continued to insist. We got up making it clear we were done and they refused to provide us our promised gifts. We left their offices extremely upset, which was obvious to anyone there whom may have seen us leaving. This encounter has ruined the rest of our stay at this resort. If these are the tactics Diamond Resorts feels it needs to have to succeed, then their product must not be that good. I will never stay in a Diamond Resort property ever again.
There is no washer and dryer inside. Towels are old. They don’t clean the room until after you leave 7 days so you need to ask for towel exchange, toiletries, and toilet papers. Rooms are smalls yet pricy it took more than 6 grand points for a 7 day stay.
Awesome place with an awesome staff.
Awesome place to stay! Staff was nice and helpful and the facility was beautiful!
The rooms are clean, nicely furnished, and comfortable. Staff is friendly. Landscaping is immaculate and beautiful. No negative things to say at all. Come see for yourself.
Even though it was very windy and cool outside, I enjoyed my time in my very lovely 1 bedroom suite. I cooked my meals and read a couple of books during my time here. The check in was easy. The parking garage was just across the street so very easy to get to. The concierge was helpful. The beach was right outside the door of the hotel. The outside pool and tiki bar looked fun. Overall, a very nice 3 night stay.
Great food and drinks. Love the pools.
We had many choices of luxury Hotels beach front to chose from, we picked this, great choice! Super clean, comfort. Rooms, entire resort staff, from check in to pool side service, amazing!
The pool area was Excellent! Friendly staff and even was so helpful!
Great place perfect for families and couples all the same.
Arrived after a 7 hour drive and was told my room had to be inspected before I could receive my key. This was hours after check in time. I’ve never had my room inspected. I asked to speak to a manager and got her to admit our room wasn’t ready. They would text me when I could come back and wait in line again and get my keys. They wouldn’t even tell me my room number. Several others were in the lobby and said they had been waiting hours for their rooms to be ready. I really hate be LIED to. Staff at front desk was rude. Parking situation is another huge issue. I would not recommend this place to stay!
Very friendly staff! Very family oriented they have a game room for the kids, three pools. Very nice atmosphere.
The room was nice. If we needed anything we received it right away. Check in process a little slow but I did choose to park my own vehicle due to the back up with the guys parking. The most annoying part is we can’t sit out on the balcony due to the smell of pot coming from below!
Staff is nice. Location is great. The resort comes complete with pools/lounging areas/bars/restaurants/free parking garage. You can walk outside and you're 40ft from walking right on to the beach.
Overall great place, 3 really good kid pools also with a 21 and over pool and jacuzzi tub. Also have a jacuzzi tub in the room! On the beach and a short walk and your at the pier. Has a nice full kitchen with a dishwasher and living area with pull out couch. Awesome!
Love the food, customer service was excellent. We enjoyed the place. Will be sad when it closes at the end of the summer. Nice place to mingle with people.
We were charged a "resort fee" when all of their resort features were closed for the season. And we were only staying the one night. When we explained that to the front desk, we were pretty much told that's policy. Thanks. Nice customer service. Will not be staying at any Diamond Resort location in the future.
The staff is really nice and helpful. The resort is very nice and this is an old building so watch out for some loose doors. The bathroom door fell down on my wife and we ended up calling 911. Mishaps happen but the response from the staff was really good. The swimming pools are really nice a huge. It’s right next to the beach so you can have a really quick walk back and forth.
Very pleasant service. Kids enjoyed the pools and it's got convenient parking in deck right across the street. Great spot right on the beach. Our room had a kitchen which was convenient. Laundry is available but only one washer dryer pair per every 2nd floor. Overall excellent experience.
These guys went above and beyond on my visit. My father in law passed away unexpectedly and they still let us check in late into the night. The parking deck is right near the hotel so you are able to walk the beach and shops with no problem. Having pools indoor and outdoor help if it decides to rain. Our room was clean and is just like an apartment with kitchen.
This place was so cool the kids loved it. We enjoyed the amenities and the activities. The fire pits were a nice touch and there are several around the Resort. The staff was superb to say the least super helpful with everything. Thanks for a wonderful stay.
This place was amazing. Our room was perfect. Indoor pool was great for our son. They have a game room that is very nice. You can borrow games and take them to your room which was great. Staff was amazing!
I came here for vacation at the Virginia Beach. We stayed in a suite room that overlooked the beach. The staff was incredibly friendly and offered us pamphlets with coupons and maps of the areas to make our trip more fun. The hotel bar and over 21 pool areas were amazing. Everything was clean and orderly. Our TV didn't work in our room, but we didn't go to the beach to watch tv. Great stay!

Great, great place. But… beware of the Diamond sales people! Very aggressive in trying to sell you a points system Timeshare. We already own here and they still are like hungry wolves. The place is awesome though!
There are three reasons I am giving a one star review: First, I am unable to give them zero stars, or I would do that instead. Second, the hospitality experience was sloppy. The check in and check out process were an exhausting nightmare that took over an hour each, not everyone who had a car got the required key card to exit the parking garage, the air conditioning units were busted in the three suites I saw (including my own, one night we literally slept under our coats), and they cold-called every single guest an hour before checkout to try to sell them a timeshare — — my wedding guests hated that. Third, and this is really scary, they have a dangerously faulty fire alarm system, which nearly killed me on my wedding night. When it happened, the staff told us openly that it was malfunctioning and were perplexed that they couldn't get the alarm to turn off. The piercing, constant drone of the alarm induced an extremely dangerous neurological event, from which I am still struggling to recover. The hotel has been uncivil, changing their story the next day and insisting we were somehow to blame for my injuries. At no point did anyone on staff offer to contact emergency services or express any concern. My husband and I not only stayed there 5 nights, we had it as our host hotel for our wedding and brought in 24 reservations, and held what must have been a very lucrative social gathering in the Oceanaire bar, Ulta, the day before our wedding. I don't think we were bad customers.
I decided to take a spontaneous beach trip with a friend. I booked a room for the following weekend. For just one night. Keep in mind this is April and I was told there were many open rooms. Unforeseen circumstances prevented me from being able to make it that weekend. I called and asked to cancel. They said they wouldn’t refund my money. I asked if I could possibly move my reservation to a later date. They told me no. I am now paying for a room for one night that I cannot go to.
Enjoyed our stay during spring break. The staff was very helpful and Courteous. We enjoyed the view of the beach during sunrise and sunset. The pool's are all great indoor and outdoor. The kids had something to do every day from the play room schedule. This was my second time here and will come again.
Where should I start? The room didn’t have any towels in it. Finally got towels the following afternoon but they were beach towels. We kept getting a wake up call every morning at 1:30 am and were told they would fix the issue. Nothing was ever fixed and we never got towels. All we kept getting were apologies. Miserable experience. Will never stay here again.
We booked an ocean front view in their sister resort and for some reason were moved to this location with a room over the garbage area overlooking the apartments and parking garage. No one in the whole resort was able to help us, claiming they were booked but when I looked online they had ocean front rooms available. Tried to speak with an operations or general manager and was told they were not on site but I could call them. What a horrible vacation. Also there were only two towels in the room and the place was dirty. The cleaning staff walked right by a spill in the hall for three days before it was cleaned up. I would not recommend this resort. This hotel is owned by Diamond Resorts, so travelers beware!
This hotel looks nice but it is the little things that get you. One, the beds were the most uncomfortable of any hotel I have ever been. Then there is the "free" breakfast. They trick you here because at every other hotel the free breakfast means eggs and bacon and well, breakfast. Here the free stuff is a muffin and bananas. Everything else will cost you 14.95 per person! Things to keep in mind if you have kids. The pool was murky. The staff was nice. But over all it was not all it cracked up to be.
We are owners here and have been for several years. Since Diamond has taken over the service has become terrible, the upkeep is non-existent, and the cleanliness is terrible. We arrived Friday and had no problem getting registered. We have special requirements for non — feather pillows due to extreme allergies. We were told that this was taken care of, but only two of the pillows in both units were feather free.
When we got into the rooms we found that the bathrooms had not been cleaned, old soap in showers, hair ties on sink, and hair in both tubs! They did send someone right up to clean, but obviously no quality control.
The next issue was with no water pressure in kitchen. They sent 3 people and 3 hours later they said it was fixed. The next morning, no water pressure again. Another worker stayed 2 hours and said it was a bad faucet and that they would be back in the am to fix.
21/2 hours on Easter Sunday and now we have water.
Not sure but as an owner I will be looking into this to see what I can legally do as I pay a large sum of money for maintenance that appears to be non-existent.
Nice place but the check in process was long and challenging. We reserved the room about an hour prior. When we got to the hotel they hadn't received our reservation yet and we waited over an hour and 1/2 before a manager paid attention and helped us. Room was nice very clean and the rate was good.
It's Ok as location goes. We've been to many timeshares and this one is probably not the best. It's clean, on the beach front and has nice pools. The furniture is dated and uncomfortable. There are but one pot and one frying pan. Dishes are barely acceptable (we needed to start the dishwasher after 2 meals and we're 2 adults) it's fine if you don't plan on using much of the condo and only plan on sleeping here (which the bed was not comfortable either). It's at a minimum, acceptable. Will not be coming back here as we have nicer places we can go to.
We were charged a "resort fee" when all of their resort features were closed for the season. And we were only staying the one night. When we explained that to the front desk, we were pretty much tole that's policy. Thanks. Nice customer service. Will not be staying at any Diamond Resort location in the future.
Great location, right on the beach close to restaurants/bars. Room was very nice, clean and everything that one needs, fridge, microwave coffee pot. Staff was very nice and helpful. First time to Va Beach will go back and stay here again.
Very disappointing. We came in for a weekend getaway; came expecting a room instead got a closet, the people in the room next to us had 45 people staying so the doors were constantly being opened and closed, my least favorite thing was wanting to spend some time relaxing in the 21 and up hot tub/ pool, but at 10:30 hoping to enjoy a few minutes soaking before bed went down to find about 30 people drunk and partying which is fine except for the money we paid that’s not at all the atmosphere I thought we’d paid for. Very disappointed. Will certainly not be going back. Country in and suites sounds a lot better now.
Wouldn’t even let me check in because I had to have someone who was 21 or older to check in with me. Couldn’t even have a friend on the phone to be with me to check in… absolutely ridiculous. Traveled over here and bought the stay here and couldn’t even check in… so I can travel around the world but just not able to stay anywhere… that makes sense… thanks a lot.
I loved a lot about this resort. They offered us even more of a discount once we got there so of course a bonus. Very friendly and fun staff. Great atmosphere. I’ve stayed in a lot of five star hotels and the experience here was just very wonderful. Great parking options. Something I’ve never seen is all the extra small things they provided in your room and free laundry rooms. It was really just overall a great location and having the beach right there is also a bonus. I will def be back to enjoy it when it’s not so cold. Will recommend to any and everyone that visits.
The staff was nice. Housekeeping was horrible. I only stayed one night but the morning I was leaving I found a empty bottle of anal lube in between the bed and night stand. I'm still heated about it because my 2 year old was with me what if she would of found it! This mean they did not clean the room well! The room was a nice size faced the beach 912A. O and I waited 45 min for my car to be pulled to the front. If I didn't find that nasty bottle beside bed I would give them a 4 but I question the housekeeping now.
This hotel was very nice looking on the outside. For as much money as the rooms cost, I expected them to be cleaner and better kept. The suite we stayed in definitely could have used some maintenance work. We will definitely keep looking for that favorite hotel and won't be staying here again in the future.
Have stayed at resort several times. Rooms have good to great. Some are a little dated. The last room we had was on the side of the building directly above the delivery area, so was a little noise in the early morning. Ocean front rooms from previous view were great.
My husband and I had such a great experience when we stayed at the Ocean Beach Club Resort. Nov. 4-10. Everyone from the moment we arrived were very professional, friendly, kind and helpful until we left. It was cloudy & raining for 3 days while we were there. So one day we took the Diamond Resort tour of their property. We met Ron Comia from Diamond Resorts he was an amazing Sales Person told us all the info. About their great resorts in many areas, special entertainment & events for owners. He was very clear when he went over the sales info. And put no pressure on us & gave us the paperwork to look over while we were in Virginia Beach.
I stayed at this resort and loved it with the exception that there was no room service nor housekeeping. Although it lacks in those departments, the location is ideal and the pool is perfect. NOW, what made it a terrible experience was being bombarded with their Marketing Strategies the moment you check-in till the moment you check-out. Both days I received morning calls about packages and specials that they have for their timeshare. Needless to say I could not relax and finally gave into their Marketing scheme. Spending three hours sitting down with the first represents made want to be apart of this vacation club but then they transferred me to another representative that showed me exactly what diamond Resorts is really about. Bruce was disrespectful, rude, and very persistent in his sales tactics. I highly recommend not to bother with this resort! if you do, steer clear from the concierge office and anyone working in the diamond resort discovery center. They don't care about your best interest and are so pushy that it brings up a red flag. Sitting with Bruce really ruined my experience at Ocean Beach club.
Spent a week here the last of October. We asked for an ocean front accommodation but were told there were non available. (Found out later this was not true). Instead we got a city view, one bedroom that overlooked a parking garage and a tall 16 story apartment bldg. Our accommodation was really in need of updating due to burns in the carpet, stained curtains and very uncomfortable furniture. The staff was great, pool areas fantastic and location to shops and restraunts was perfect. Because we were here at the beginning of the off season, things were quiet and traffic was nonexistent. I understand there are plans to completely update the, facility soon.
First, let me say the hotel staff are awesome, friendly and customer oriented. However, they are working against a stacked deck. Management would serve themselves better to overall the entire service experience walking through each step of the process from trying to check — in, get into double door entry ways, valet, plug in a cell phone, make a phone call from room to room, track sand into the room only to find out they will only clean your room upon request and for a fee… I mean, the list goes on and on. For the prices OB Club Resort demands, they should command a contemporary hotel experience. That being said, great location, pool areas and lounging. For a better experience and I dare say it because it is a Hilton property which I generally do not favor, the Garden Inn next door has a much better 'hotel' experience. Then again, their pool scene is not as good.
Excellent service! The front desk staff are amazing. The rooms are clean and well furnished. Great made to order breakfast. We will definitely visit again!
Very disappointing. There were many issues with our room when we first got here. First there were no sheets or covers for the fold out sofa, only a mattress cover. Also the pillows that we're in the closet for the sofa had dirty pillow cases in them. The house cleaning was done poorly, 3 of the cushions were put on the sofa backwards or sideways (I know that's pretty knit-picky, but I am just being overly critical). The bathtub had a sewage backup and every time I tried to call the front desk the line was busy, (probably from complaints). So I had to go down there and request room service and they said it would be about 15 minutes, 1 hour passes and I called the front desk, the line isn't busy for once. They said they would send someone up but no one ever came. Over all I would say the only up part if this resort is it's on the beach and there is a pretty good view.
Very pleased with our stay. Facilities are beautiful and well kept. Everyone on the resort were very polite. The only negatives are concierge is a little pushy about attending a meeting about timeshares. Therefore, we didn't go down to ask about places to dine or visit while we are in town. We will definitely be back to stay again!
Very clean room, friendly staff, great pools, good restaurant and can't beat the distance from the ocean. It was also very close to a lot of great restaurants. My only concern was that the 1 queen studio was somewhat small, but still very comfortable.
We are now at Ocean Beach Club. We love our room in the 18th floor corner ocean front unit facing southeast. It has a Lanai that you can access from both living room and bedroom. The view is awesome. We can look down to the swimming pool and the music play between Ocean Beach Club and Hilton Garden Inn. We had been complaining about DRI maintenance fee for a while. But with a room like this, we think it is worth it to be Platinum member. The staffs are great and people are nice. I am not sure our request for higher floor would get us the top floor without being platinum member. We love it.
Very nice hotel. My family has been coming for years and we don't have many complaints. Only thing that could be better is if they upgraded the furniture in the rooms. They haven't changed since the day we started staying here, nearly 10 years ago.
A couple of the pool attendants were very awesome & very helpful for our stay! I recommend that they have more pool attendees like those guys which there names are Josh Barnes & Shawn!
This place was pretty good. Only complaint I had is that a water pipe busted somewhere and there was no water for about four hours. Luckily we were clean and headed out for the evening. Staff was friendly. They did call a few times with the time share pitch but I got them straight. I told them I'm here to enjoy my family not for a time share. People complained about staff not wanting to give out extra towels/linen, we didn't have an issue. Resort is right off the board walk. Parking deck right across the street, which wasn't an issue.
We exchanged our time share for this hotel for the year. Accommodations were overall horrible. We were not able to check in at check in time due to the room not being ready because of not enough housekeeping. Bathrooms had a lot of mold. No bath towels in our second part of the suite and could never get anyone on the phone from the room to fix any issues. Any problems with anything you had to go to front desk and they got to helping you whenever they felt like it. No maid service through out the week and again if you needed anything you had to go to the front desk. Note that parking is 10 dollars a day which they do tell you. The only good thing about this place is proximity to beach and Boardwalk. Otherwise stay away.
Terrible experience. my wife and I came on vacation with my parents. my parents booked a one bedroom that has a pull out couch. When we went to bed we realized that there was no pull out couch. Called up front and didn't believe us so they sent a maitence employee to our room. They said they would find a bed for us. Did not happen, didn't even call to tell us we have to sleep on the floor. The next morning we talked to the front desk. They said they were to busy to come back later. Inconsiderate if you ask me. The time shares are 75000 dollars and we slept on the floor with no accommodation. We later went to the desk and they had no idea our experience. Took an hour to get us a room and we had to pack and move to a new room. well the new room has a balcony in the living room. Great, but the room next to ours. Their main bed room window butts up to our balcony so when they have their window open they see everything your doing on the balcony. Talk about no privacy. The worst set up ever. So if your sleeping in the master bed room, your neighbor s next to you are out on the balcony. Have fun trying to sleep… the bad experience goes on and on. This place does not care about you at all! we came/paid for a vacation and felt like it was more of a hassle than ever.
I have mixed feelings about this resort after staying here a week. They do provide alot in Terms of things to do. They have a pretty god bar, pools, entertainment, etc. What they do not have is very good customer service. I stayed a week and my room was never cleaned by housekeeping. I even called and requested this and was told that it was going to be done and no one ever showed up. I then requested sheets and towels and the person literally walked in and dropped the sheets on the bed and turned around and left… wtf!
Ocean Beach Club is fantastic. We find the concierge's desk to be very helpful. They recommend excellent attractions. One of our favorite recommendations was the restaurant Zoe's in Virginia Beach. The service is very accommodating and very respectful. Our room was well maintained. It's very easy to exchange beach towels, request replacement toiletries, etc. The location of this resort is excellent. It is just north of Neptune's statue (walking distance). Some of the top rated restaurants on trip advisor are within walking distance (some even right across the street). A couple are within bicycling distance. The swimming pools are wonderful. There are four different pools. Two in-door and two outdoor. One pool is for 21 yrs and older only. Will definitely stay at this resort again.
Location is great and just the right distance to walk or take the trolley to the livelier part of town. Rooms are really nice. The penthouse suites have everything you would need should you not want to leave the room!
Okay so I was slightly disappointed because I didn't know the difference between a queen suite and studio. It wasn't explained to me that I wouldn't have a stove or oven. I had brought a lot of food with me and a lot of it went to waste because I only had a microwave and a mini fridge. Other than that I didn't have really any of the issues other people had. I didn't deal with anyone trying to get me into a time share. The Wi-Fi is touch and go. And housekeeping only came to our room once during our stay. I only stayed because we got a Groupon deal. I will say the rate of our room is crazy insane. The rate I paid for 3 nights through Groupon is what I would have paid for 1 through them. The pools are nice. The kids pool was closed off during our stay and the kids were obnoxious while my boyfriend and I were in the pool. But that's not something the hotel had anything to do with. Parking is not free, but it is included in their fee. We left our car in the garage until the day we left. We walked everywhere. The bus system down there is kinda crappy not even going to lie. They served breakfast in their lounge but really that should be free for the rates of their hotel. It came out to $11+ with tax for one adult. And really was like any continental breakfast. I love that it is beach front. I never stayed beach front before. And the fitness center is pretty nice with a beautiful view. I would recommend it for people who have money or can get a deal.
I stayed there for a week, here are the pros and cons: pros: Best water pressure I've experienced at a hotel Suite set up was nice: nice couch, dining table, kitchen, etc. Location is really nice and the beach is clean Cons: Found a tablet under the table that ended up being Oxy (fortunately no kids were staying with us) Loud door noises: we were part of a two unit area and the air pressure in between the doors made a really loud noise each time our "neighbor" opened their door. Super loud AC unit: couldn't sleep with it on, way way way too loud Pool cleaning noises: they tried cleaning the pool at midnight, there were many people complaining as it was shaking the whole building Our room wasn't ready and they switched our room when we got there (maybe the reason why we got one of the two unit suite) Hounding time share people at the door that wouldn't take no for an answer Bed was uncomfortable Carpet and wall paint were old and stained Parking is across the street and it takes 10-15 minutes to go in and get out of that place Slow and flaky internet connection: ended up using personal data via cellphone Overall this place would be ok for $100 a night, not $250. I won't be back unless I get a deal that is under $100 a night.
What a joke this place is, if you're interested in staying in the penthouse suite BEWARE. As we were charged more than $700.00 per night for the weekend, only to find that at time of check in "the suite owner" decided to stay there as well, whatever that means. Guess what? Even though we had reservations booked for that particular suite, we were bumped to two small rooms instead of the split level suite we had paid for, due to "the suite owner" magically deciding to stay there at the same time! This hotel believes that it's fine to book guests into rooms that they don't even have available to just get you in the door, once you're there they will tell you some bs story as to why you can't have the room you BOOKED and instead stick you in a small and cramped room. Not to mention, the two small rooms we were bumped in to are incredibly dirty for an expensive hotel, dirty carpeting, dirty couches, walls look disgusting, and the shelving unit that holds the TV box literally FELL OFF THE WALL as soon as we walked in! I would never recommend this place to anyone nor will I ever consider staying here again. Trust me and book somewhere else.
This is the worst place $250 a night and customer service is the worst I have ever experienced! We made reservations a week ago, drive five hours only to be told our room wasn't ready (check in time is 4pm) we didn't get into the room until 7pm. And management was extremely unapologetic only to tell us that " it's everyone's situation today, it's not only you! " They offered to pay for our parking (that is $20 a day) you would think they would have free parking or the fee be included into the price, excuse me and they still charged us for a whole day! Sorry everyone that had to wait should not have been charged or should have been discounted! If we as the guest canceled or stayed later than check out time we would have been charged! Go to the bedroom to go to bed and sheets were disgusting! Call to the front desk and they bring the sheets up and tell us we have to make the bed REALLY, but we waited ALL day to get in the room because they were supposedly cleaning! First and last stay in this establishment! Customer service is MOST important they set the tone of the whole resort! Staff set the tone for this whole experience not impressed! Horrible place! DO NOT, DO NOT, DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!
My first vacation ever. (rough time for my family & I) this was an amazing experience with my babies who enjoyed themselves! Especially my daughter in the pool, she was my exercise but they we're sad that they couldn't workout with mommy too. Everything else was amazing, the kids/game room. I know nothing about other consoles but the Wii is awesome with sports games, I could go on and on! Clean, very spacious, friendly informative polite staff, fully equipped kitchen, beautiful views, firm comfortable beds (even the pull out sofa was comfortable for my children or I) beautifully decorated. I most certainly will be returning the next chance I get! Great first time experience.
First time in Virginia. I am blown away by the place. The room is fantastic. Full kitchen with dishes, large bathroom with jetted tub, balcony with ocean view, large mirrors, dining area with booth seating, TV in bedroom and living room… and it was very affordable! This hotel itself has made it a dream trip.
We went for a presentation. I was very impressed with the hotel itself, however was expecting a little bit more when it came to the rooms. Was normal size with same amenities as any other hotel I've been in. But the ocean view was amazing. I would probably stay there if just for myself, but if going to impress, will probably choose to stay next door at the Oceanaire.
Suite was spacious and perfect for our family. Rooms were clean and staff was friendly. Some form of breakfast on the premises would be nice. The indoor pool was fun and warm.
Central and fairly priced.
Room was very nice. Housekeeping was excellent — washed dishes, new sheets, etc. Pool was chilly. It could have been warmer, especially now that it's the winter. We bought tickets to the aquarium through the concierge, but they didn't stamp the tickets and the aquarium would not accept them. We were told we had to go back to the hotel to get them stamped.
We checked in on November 29th for 3 nights. We have an ocean front room on the corner between the buildings. The noise started at 12pm on Monday and lasted until 5pm. The front desk told me they were cleaning floors, that the work is done on Mondays and Wednesdays. Tuesday at 11am it started again. Lasted til 4:44, just imagine what a large diesel generator sounds like in between 2 buildings. We couldn't stay in the room it was so loud. Complained to front desk, I was told they would tell the manager, I'm glad we check out on Wednesday. Room 612!
The suites are reasonably priced if you know when to go. I like that it's very accessible to pretty every VB ocean front attractions.
Location is great as it is right in front of the water, rooms are comfortable and very well equiped, amenities are great with a nice workout room and 3 pools (1 indoor heated, 2 outdoor with one of those heated). Service is great, the staff is super friendly and attentive. This is a timeshare type of resort so it is more for weekly stay than just weekend as it doesn't offer complimentary breakfast and in some cases the room service is limited. Still it has free Wi-Fi, cable TV and suites have full size kitchen and refrigerator.
We Loved our Stay! The Beach was so pretty this time of year (October). The Room was so spacious and clean! The kitchen was Fantastic — everything you need and more. But the best part of all was the Staff — they were so Helpful and so very Nice and Friendly! That is what makes your stay Amazing! Michael one of the valet on the staff was one of the nicest young men I have met in a long time. They all were — I guess when people are nice the things around you are that much nicer! We recommend for sure!
Very nice clean room, fully packed with every thing you might need! With a balcony! Three amazing pools! 2 outdoor and 1 indoor. Tiki bar by the pool and on the beach! Very nice sandwiches restaurant! Staff is very nice and friendly!
We had made reservations for a Thursday night and then modified our reservation to also include Wednesday night. They booked us two separate reservations in the same room instead of one consolidated reservation. Because of this, we were constantly disturbed by hotel staff trying to see if we were still around and trying to clean our room. We were trying to have a special weekend but it was ruined because people kept knocking on our door and coming in. After the first two times, I went down to the front desk to complain. The front desk lady was very nice and explained the separate reservation fiasco and told me that it wouldn't happen again. The next time it happened I was in the shower while my husband was taking care of our baby when a man knocked on the door and came in the room. We couldn't believe it and were absolutely furious! My husband told the man that we were still guests and we needed to be left alone. It is totally unacceptable to come into the room! After the man left, he CAME BACK and knocked on the door again! We were floored that this was happening. I went down to the front desk and told them what happened. The lady told me that she would have a manager come talk to us. That didn't happen. We are beyond disappointed. Staying here ruined what should have been a relaxing weekend away.
We booked a 1 bedroom nice size bed. We turning up today and tonight.
The location of the Ocean Beach Club t is perfect! The sunset is sublime! However, we are highly disappointed with this experience. We stayed at the Oceanaire last year — exceptional. However, our room at the Ocean Beach Club is outdated, in poor quality, and unclean. The Monday, following our day of arrival, we received new mattresses (mattresses replaced throughout the resort). The bed linens removed from the mattresses were EXTREMELY soiled and worn. Our socks also soiled due to the carpet in the unit. We had cleaned the hardwood in kitchen four times before the white cloth remained spotless. Curtains were dusty and dingy. The unit felt stale and lacked freshness. We placed towels on the furniture due the worn nature of the sectional sofa and filthy chairs. The towels appeared clean but had soiled spots on some. The staff personnel is extremely nice. However, we were disappointed with the lack of follow-thru from management at check-out due to an incident report (missing expensive personal) we filed upon the second day of our arrival. Although the missing item was discovered by us once we left the facility, as a professional organization, a courtesy call, throughout our stay, from resort management would have been helpful. The trash cans in the hallways and public areas on our floor were full throughout our stay. The trash chute was often locked causing trash to pile on floors.
We have visited three times. Never" in season". Not too much to do other than swim. Game room is puny. Even restaurants and cafe not open. Suites are nice and well stocked. Staff are nice and helpful. I assume it's more fun in summer when everything is open.
My husband and I booked this through a Third party site and we did not get what was advertised. We booked a 1 bedroom with a queen sized bed. What we got was a small one bedroom with a full size bed. When we called the front desk we were given poor customer service and was told we got a hotel standard size bed. I do not know if there is a difference from "hotel standard size" and a "queen size" which is what we paid for. Perhaps if we had booked through a timeshare, we would have gotten what we asked for. We also appeared to be above the maintenance room, we heard loud noises and banging through out our time there. The room itself was clean, cute, and tidy. My biggest problem was how we were treated. We didn't hate it, but we will not be returning.
I loved staying at this hotel. I checked in early and got upgraded to a beautiful suite. I had some issues with the room and the staff was really friendly and prompt in helping me out. ALSO the pool next door at the OceanAire was AMAZING. 21+ only with beautiful lighting, spa and fires burning off to the side. We also help meetings in the OceanAire in the best room ever, you could see the waves from the window there. Awesome experience, thanks a lot.
I absolutely love the hotel! I came down for the first time ever and its great! My sister has a timeshare w/two rooms together but w/separate entrances. She and my bro-in-law comes every year and thought it be a great idea for me to check it out. May want to buy someday. First, the tour was very nice and the tourist were all polite and understanding especially when after the oceanaire hotel tour I had said to the tourist that I needed more time to think about buying and it was well excepted. I was impressed with her professionalism. My room was very good, I love the flat screen TV, bed and sm kitchen. Had no problems w/Wi-Fi and the staff were great. My one dislike was the fact that part of my window if I was to open the curtain it would be facing the neighbors balcony. Overall I found that it was so much to do in and around the hotel. Live music I could sit and listen to from the balcony or I could sit at the tiki bar and enjoy it with a drink and something to eat. By the way, the food here was great and inexpensive. Front desk and concierge helped me countless times with my keys not working or finding out where or what to do here for my week stay here. This is my first vacation here and I would love to come back whenever I'm invited. Again I would surely be up for it. I took a friend and she thought it was all So Awesome! Really enjoyed every minute of it and especially my week stay at the Ocean Beach Club. Thanks Sis.
I have a timeshare hereand the place is nice but it needs some tlc. I pay a maintenance fee every year and a monthly payment and the rooms are getting beat up. The hinges on bathroom door are rusty drain slow and chairs in living room dirty. We have a lockout room which means two rooms and the kids room the neighbors patio they can look into room. Don't go to owners meeting they just try to sell you a timeshare. And those goldkeys on boardwalk are rude and annoying. All they do is hound you even if you tell them your a owner. So just tell them you own one here and walk away. The over 21 pool is a good idea but can they keep people under 21 out I seen kids and teenagers in the hot tube. And also some over the guest here I wouldn't leave anything lay around if you know what I mean. The staff do a good job like the workers like maids and maintance guys but the front desk needs some training or fired. My dvd wasn't working asked if they could help put on hold never got a pick up hung up after 15 mins and had to fix it myself rca jacks broke. They parking garage it a joke too. Hard to find a spot because they let everyone in there. But on the good side close to beach and music up and down beach is a good thing. Maybe they should give you a pin or hat or something so the goldkey people leave you alone or run them off beach because they ruin you vacation time.
First we booked our room online and was told it was "oceanview" the only view we got was on the back side of the hotel. More like "dumpster/construction view" several people called our room to try and sell us time shares throughout the whole stay which was annoying. Then we told the front office staff we would like no room service, but yet got bothered several times with housekeeping knocking on our door. Next I got overcharged. I was only supposed to pay ~$670 for thurs-sun and 8$ per day for parking; but then my card gets charged 229$ before we arrived; then $100 at check in; $464 at check out; and then 2 days after I checkout $364! Then I call and ask about the charges (9am), get put on hold 2 times and was told someone would return my call. No one did. I then call back at 1:00pm was then put on hold AGAIN; and still was told someone would return my call! NO ONE DID. Now I am currently on hold as typing this review for OVER 1 HOUR. Been told the supervisor is coming and still listening to the music on hold. People randomly keep picking up asking if "I can be placed on hold again" I answer NO, and still get put on Hold. Which is EXTREMELY rude! Horrible customer service! Ocean Beach Club should be more respectful of their guests. So quick to overcharge someone, but doesn't care to return the money.
