Amazing for a budget motel. Spotless newly renovated room and little details that make all the difference: TV mounted on wall so its comfortable to watch while sitting in bed. Four outlets above the night stand — making convenient for plugging charger and clap machine in one place.

The price was good the owners are trying to upgrade it, not sure if I'd go back though. My wife would definitely not stay there. It was just me and my son and we needed to get some rest on a thousand mile trip. Three stars are for the owners they were very nice.

I've been skeptical of the Econo Lodge name because I've seen plenty of other which have been subpar. This Econo Lodge does not fit that bill. A friend of mine and I stayed there as a quick rest point on a weekend trip a few months ago. $60 for the room last night ($30 from each of us) and the room was clean and didn't feel dated. It's one of the best values I've ever found in a motel. I didn't have the continental breakfast, from what I saw that lacked a little pizazz. But that shouldn't take away from the value this Econo Lodge offers. I'll definitely be staying here again.

Economy hotel yes, but that doesn't mean it was bad by any means like you sometimes find with economy hotels. Exact opposite actually. Rooms were tidy, no odors, got what I booked. Owners were very friendly, hospitable and personable! They made my stay very enjoyable! Nice job guys!

Incredibly nice people that run this place. We had a large vehicle and trailer at an 11pm check in. The lady working the desk came out, moved her car and made sure we had a good spot. Was a refreshing customer service experience. Rooms were clean.

Very comfortable, affordable, and the family that owns it was so sweet to us! their child even shared his toys w my 18 month old at breakfast great bang for your buck. Highly recommend!

The staff were really friendly and polite. Really nice and safe place. Next to Big Lick Cemetary, but it’s still nice and seems to not be haunted lol. The room is spacious and smells really nice. A hairdryer is included, coffee in the room, soaps and shampoo +conditioner. The carpet and everything seemed very clean and well taken care of. Dim lit bathroom, but that’s pretty nice and relaxing in my opinion. Top lock on the door. Breakfast included. Not too expensive and really nice for the price. Really enjoyed our stay :)

Great deal for the price, even without the continental breakfast (Cereal, danishes, bagel, coffee, and juices. ) Rooms are standard setup for the price range but are clean and recently remodeled. We would definitely come back, if the need arises.

Great place to stay, very reasonable rate. Pet friendly. My kids missed a pool but during winter months this works perfect. Staff very nice.

This is the kind of motel you decide on for a cheap night, close to downtown when heading into the city. Expectations are low yet the minute I walked into the office, I was treated with an amazing amount of respect by staff. After a fast check-in the room was clean, tidy and we'll kept. Smelled nice and everything worked without a hitch. AC, shower and TV all up to par with more expensive hotels. Great parking which was well lit and upon checkout I was once again happy to find everyone to be extremely cheerful and full of glee. Great start to the day and can't wait to come back!

My room was a disaster! I actually took pictures of all the unclean spots. Wish I had started leaving reviews when I stayed here or I would post them. Spots on my bed that were completely noticeable. Toilet lid had something dried on top of it. You could tell the floor hadn't been vaccumed. Cant remember what else. I slept in my clothes in and my personal blanket. Only reason why I didn't ask for another room was because it was already so late and had a pretty bad day and if I asked for another room and it was the same… I would have lost it.

Great service. Comfortable beds. Nice TV’s with a reasonable channel selection. Tasty breakfast. Very nice owner. Choice Gold Award Location.

This hotel was great. We were coming from Minnesota and did not have any real knowledge about the area, but we looked at previous reviews and decided to use this place. The staff was friendly, punctual, and resolved every issue we brought to them. They were even helpful with local food suggestions. The room was clean and did not have that horrible after-smoke smell that other places often have. Thank you EconoLodge for a great stay and a great first time in Roanoke. We’ll be back!

We were in town for the Shamrock Festival Volleyball Tournament and were looking for an alternative to the high-priced Sheraton, in which we had a bad experience from the previous year. Econo Lodges are generally considered 1-Star hotels, but this is a 5* 1-star if that makes sense ha. The mattress was fabulous. We slept better here than about any hotel we've ever stayed in… even though it was a double bed and we're used to King size. Free breakfast was included and respectable. They actually had milk unlike the Sheraton where our friends were staying (How does a hotel run out of milk? Go to the store! ). And the Inn Keeper was one of the nicest guys I've ever met. He was very personable! They have done lots of upgrades to the hotel rooms even though it looks a little run down on the outside. The rear of the hotel has a barbed wire fence, and the industrial view looks a little sketchy, but other than that it was great. We did feel safe staying here as the parking lot lights remain on throughout the night. I would recommend to friends because of the price, convenience to the Burglund Center, quality of sleep, and politeness of the Inn Keeper. It is a great value!

Good for one night ONLY. Rooms are much cleaner than I expected. Truthfully, the appearance looks rather run down, but it is surprisingly clean. I am picky. I just needed a cheap spot. This is def. A cheap spot, that is clean and safe.

My first time in a motel. Great stay. Bed was really comfy, price was good and staff was very very very friendly. Breakfast was okay to start the day. Room was a little cold though, but nothing the heater couldn't fix. Would recommend this place to anyone wanting to hike around the Blue Ridge Mountains.

We was in town working in need of a room and this Econolodge was perfect! The beds are very comfortable and the price was right. In spite of being in the middle of remodeling our stay was as good as any hotel I've ever stayed. Plus the morning manager (I guess) was a real delight and seemed enthusiastic about making us comfortable.

The staff here is working so hard to maintain the choice chain standards. They are friendly and very helpful. The breakfast is fresh and the rooms are clean and comfortable. You can't beat the value. When you need a comfortable place to sleep, try here.

I had to stay at this hotel for a family gathering and I had a very pleasant stay. It was dead center of every where I needed to go (10 minute drive or so). The rooms were decently sized and well equipped with everything I needed. Everyone was very nice as well. Overall a very nice weekend getaway.

The Econo Lodge Civic Center hotel was one of the best hotel experiences I have ever had. The rooms were clean and very well put together. The service was outstanding and provided things you didn't even think you would need. I would stay there every trip I went on if I could. And don't let the outside fool you the inside is fantastic!

DO NOT BE DISTRACTED BY THIS MOTEL'S EXTERNAL APPEARANCE! The beauty lies within — the excellent service from the staff and the clean room with all necessary amenities. This Econo Lodge is highly ranked with Choice Hotels and it shows through the owner's personal communications upon check-out through the property that he is working hard to maintain. I HIGHLY recommend this Econo Lodge for anyone on their next visit to Roanoke!

This place is great. Doesn't look like much on the outside but out stay was wonderful. Clean comfy rooms. Probably the best and nicest staff I have ever met. Next door to a Sheetz and Bojangles. Like a mile to downtown. We will be back! A++++++

Don't judge a book by it's cover. The outside had us wondering why we booked this place. The staff was the friendliest we have ever met. The room was very clean and roomy. Breakfast was simple but good. Shower had a lot of pressure.

We had an excellent one night stay at the Econo Lodge Civic Center. The staff are incredibly kind and very helpful, we felt very welcome. The rooms are basic but comfortable, affording us everything we needed for our short stay. Would recommend.

The best bang for your buck. I've stayed here twice and have been very satisfied with my stay each time! The rooms are clean, beautiful, and comfortable. It appears to be newly remodeled. The staff was so kind and helpful! We will definitely be back next time we're in the area!

We stayed at this facility for a week during a recent antique car tour. While it's an older property, the rooms have been completely renovated are are kept clean and well-maintained. The room had a very comfortable bed. The owner/manager is very friendly and helpful and makes you feel welcome the second you hit the door. The price is exceptional for a facility that's so close to downtown. I'd definitely stay here again!

Saw a snake in the parking lot while checking in. But other than that the stay was smooth. The staff were respectful.

The service was absolutely wonderful but not a great place for a weekend getaway there's no pool or sauna Spa but it was perfect for a last-minute need to get a cheap room place and was very clean and bed bug free once again I cannot stress how helpful resourceful and kind the staff there was very homely feeling.

Although a little challenging to get to, Econo Lodge was clean, friendly, comfortable, and exceeded my expectations. I fully enjoyed my stay here, and would definitely come here again the next time I'm in the area.

I did not expect the Hilton for the rate I paid, but had a good experience indeed. It was literally right across the street from the Berglund Center, where I needed to be. I could've walked right across the street. Walking distance from Subway and Sheetz. Both right next door. It was near the main roads so I expected traffic noise but still slept like a baby. I wanted a room up front and was able to accommodate me. I was used it again.

Well let me just tell ya stayed here last night 03/14/2016 and was so dusty made me cough I had no where else to go stay could not go back out in the pouring down rain with the child so I had to stay when was leaving this AM went to office and told man about the dust on the head board and I took pics thought it was better than that the hotel it's self was told could only give me 10% off the bill because of the cost of cable and phone cost each month says and I do understand has to pay even if he/ they don't even rent the rooms out monthly so needless to say if you have any type of breathing problems don't go here if they don't clean any better that my room was cleaned the said that everything in that room was new mince the bedding and drapes well could not tell the carpet was again walked across in my new white socks and they were blacker than the MAN @THE FRONT DESK LMFAO that I spoke to so I would really think about this hotel before you stay sorry BOSS LMFAO OF THE HOTEL HAD TO PUT IT OUT FOR PUBLIC TO SEE I do have pics of everything oh and also I never said their was bed bugs I LOOKED TO SEE IF THIS PLACE HAD THEM after I found all the dust the man was saying I said he had them I never Said that 2 different things when U look and when someone says and all I did was look but I will contact someone about the problem I experienced I do have my receipt so.

Extremely friendly and attentive service, clean and spacious room. The Wi-Fi wasn't working for me, but the manager took the time to work it out and ensure that I had Internet access.

The staff is great. Funny & I enjoyed talking 2 them. However tho the room was clean. It's time 2 remodel.

This is the worse place I have ever stayed at. Burn holes in the linen, rooms smell like weed, drug deals going on all night and day, hookers hanging around, and the owners are rude telling us that we have to stay in our rooms and we can't be standing in the parking lot. I would never stay here again or at any other econolodge again.

The room was clean and comfortable. The owner was very personable and took the time to talk with us during breakfast. The showers were built for tall people:) no crouching!

Nicest hotel staff I've ever met and I stay in hotels on an average of 3 weeks a month and it's usually 3 or 4 different hotels each week the owner was super nice it's also the first time I didn't get charged for a safe fee the hotel itself is about average but people making you feel welcome goes a long way.

Love this place. Owner lives at the hotel so he treats the place like his home. He is always out and about doing things to the places. He is renovating his rooms one or two at a time to update them and has flat screen TVs. Will be staying there again.

Great place for the price! Clean, friendly staff, civic center across the street. Small free breakfast in morning, bagel, cereal, oj apple juice etc. Of course nothing fancy, but perfect for just a overnight sleep.

Bring incense and scented candles. Other than the smell, it's a nice clean hotel with better than average customer service. Oh. Has HBO and Wifi (yes! ).

Room 118 seemed to have fleas. I could not find them in my initial search thru/inspection but once you lay on the bed for a few moments you get multiple itchy bites. I could only sleep a few moments. Need more sleep. Worried fleas will follow me home. Hope this gets resolved.

Based on other reviews I decided to book this hotel for an over night stay as we were coming in for a concert near by (to see Joe Bonamassa, and he rocked it — glad we make the trip) and needed a reasonable place to stay. I was pleased with the service at the front desk. The owners were very friendly and helpful. They suggested going into downtown to eat dinner as there are a lot of local places and we eneded up going to Martins (good BBQ also at a resonable price) The hotel was clean and best of all the bed in room 117 was better than most hotels I have stayed at in the past in this price range. After driving 6.5 hours that was a plus.

You cannot beat the price and experience. My husband and I stayed at this hotel three weeks ago, and it was really a great choice to stay there. We had our three kids in haul and rented out a room with two full beds. The owning couple just bought the place and are very nice. The customer service is excellent, and the rooms are very clean, they even washed the carpets while we were there. They offer a free breakfast and if that does not satisfy your hunger there is a subways right next door as well as a large gas station. The location is great too, not hard to get to and easy to get around if needed. We were very happy with our experience and will go back very soon.
