I’m visiting but I did reserve a room for my birthday… I’m excited about staying here.

This hotel is gross. At least the bedding is. I’ll here now. Not only did the blanket / comforter have a giant hole in it — there was so much mold all over it. Gross 🤮 the toilet paper holder is broken 😡 they literally left 4 tissues in the tissue box. Don’t stay here. It’s not worth it.

Only stayed one night. Due to weather, we could not enjoy the pool or rooftop bar. Loved the decor and service. Room was amazing. There were 4 of us and it wasn't a suite but it did have 2 bathrooms. Would definitely stay here again.

Trendy hotel with fashionable design elements and great city views on the roof. But the hotel generally seemed unclean. Carpets were dirty, cleaning supplies were left in our room, there were even mouse droppings on the bathroom counter in the morning! And despite paying for a late check out when we reserved the room, housekeeping must have tried to come in three times in the morning. The room was missing the "do not disturb" sign (and extra toilet paper). Just seemed like a lack of attention to detail. It's a great location and good draw for the city but they may need to refocus on service and experience.

Arrived early and told no check-ins allowed until 4:00. We were in town for a 5:30 wedding across town. Never occurred to me that that an early check-in wouldn't be possible. Thought they could have tried to be more accommodating under the circumstances. Unfortunately, we were forced to find another hotel. If you are in town for a late afternoon or evening wedding and only staying one night, probably want to look elsewhere.

Staff was real dressed and professional, willing to help in any and every way they could. Food and drinks served was a little expensive and wasn't very good. Bedrooms were okay, but some wall were damaged and easy to hear through. Also, the set up of the rooms were odd. There is no microwave in the whole building. And parking is a bit of an issue; you must have the valet, which is expensive. The location is convenient, right in the middle of Richmond. With many different places to eat or visit near by.

I recently stayed at The Graduate Hotel and my experience was just awesome. Please forgive me because I do not remember the names of the 2 young men working the night July 23rd about 11pm but they made my family and I stay just amazing with their professionalism and great attitude. I was driving back from Florida that day and was 3 hours from my destination but my mind and body was just too tired to keep driving. I called the hotel at 11pm and asked if there was a room available, with such short notice they were able to accommodate not just my family but my small dog. I was grateful for the nice room and all of the accommodations. They were even kind enough to give my dog doggie treats! :) Thank you Graduate Hotel in Richmond! Management these gentlemen need to be recognized!

Very fun, upbeat trendy place. Friendly and helpful staff. Nice amenities. Spotlessly clean Hotel. The bar in the lobby is cozy and has a good atmosphere. Cool rooftop pool!

Not reviewing as an overnight guest. We stopped by while on a downtown exploring adventure. We had a drink, played games on the pool table, arcade, shuffle board etc. The atmosphere is great. The best roof view in Richmond. The bar was great, the staff was great, the drinks were reasonable priced.

This is where you go for your birthdays if you want peace depending on your days of celebration. They are accommodating and have the most freshing of beverages I've ever had on a rooftop bar. The view is absolutely beautiful and it's not expensive depending on your income. Be responsible with your money and every penny saved will be worth your time at the Graduate!

Unique place, very cool. The roof top bar is great for a drink in the evening, over looking to city. Modern updated rooms. Great food and drinks! Free ping pong, shuffle board and video games on the lobby bar level.

Has to best to keep as many people entering at the same time, when they had to close the roof for the rain, it all came down to the bar on the first floor and they were too busy.

Room was strangely dark with an area by the entrance that seemed to want an additional fixture. Room was a decent size for a downtown hotel. Was surprised to return to my room in the afternoon to find it had not been serviced yet. Overall decent but would not revisit.

This is a huge improvement from the old Double Tree hotel but more than that, the Graduate has carved its own space in Richmond's hotel scene. Everything from the decor to rooms and accommodation, downstairs cafe and rooftop bar made our stay feel very special. Would recommend highly and will be returning. Thank you!

Swanky little place with a trendy vibe. Bars on the first floor and roof. Quiet, spacious rooms at a reasonable price. We appreciated the friendly concierge staff who were happy to supply us with several restaurants and drink spots within walking distance. We really enjoyed our stay.

Very trendy and hip vibe to this place in the heart of VCU. It's a great hotel for families on account of their "family suites" which feature bunk beds in the large living room area. 2 full baths, 2 beds, and a pullout couch makes this a great place for families. Bar on the roof wasn't open when we were there but cool that they have it. Only downsides are elevators that are small and take forever, and hit or miss experience with staff, and a late check in time of 4pm and early checkout time of 10am. That's an hour later and earlier than customary for hotels.

I don't come to Richmond a lot, but when I do, I'm going to make sure that I stay here from now on. The neighborhood is a tad sketch, or at least, run down. But inside the building, you can tell that the owners went out of their way to make this as clean and comfortable and inviting as possible. The dining/bar area is white marbled tile, and stylistically seems like a 50s diner set in a Roman Colosseum. The food is amazing for a hotel, and honestly, I feel like I underpaid. The rooms are quiet, comfortable And secure.

Modern hotel with tennis inspiration. Great location. Coffee bar inside as well as Ms Pac-Man, board games, & ping pong in the lobby. Dog friendly which is huge bonus. Valet is available, but can take a while to get your car back since they're parking lot is off site. Friendly staff!

Very impressed with hotel! Staff was friendly and welcoming. Beautifully decorated, comfortable and clean. I love that it is dog friendly and no “dog smell”. The breakfast was great. Wish we could have stayed to try the local beers on tap.

Great hotel in a good downtown location for a reasonable price! Those who are posting a negative review seem unaware of this style of hotel — very modern with awesome design but conveniences/amenities are a la carte. There is a little restaurant downstairs that serves tasty food and a rooftop bar with good drinks and an amazing view of the city. Rooms are comfortable and well-decorated and the tv's are easy to use versus other hotel chains. If you're not hung up on room service and having a fridge in your room, this is a great boutique-style hotel that offers a high-end feel at an excellent value for downtown. Tip: Use valet if you have luggage… there is street and lot parking available nearby but most require a bit of an uphill walk.

I only have wonderful things to say about The Graduate! I sincerely hope they expand to even more cities. This was in a great location in Richmond, the staff was nice, service was quick, very clean, fun decor, and they're super dog friendly (no fees and a free BarkBox! ). Definitely recommend.

This place had me at 'dog friendly. ' Not only do they have welcome service for pets, but they also include a complimentary Bark Box and water bowl during your stay! Aside from that, the hotel is very clean and has a new edgy feel. The gym is small, but the has plenty equipment to get a good workout in. I'll need to stay here again to experience the rooftop bar and pool.

Be aware: there is no fridge (only a cooler) there is no room service, there is a very very limited selection of food/drink options during limited hours, shuttle is of limited availability, the location is not good if you need natural/healthy groceries. However: the rooms are nice and clean and very new, they offer a generous credit towards the small food counter if you don't need your linens changed that day, the customer service at the front desk etc. Is excellent, the location is good for restaurants, there are several treadmills that work! The small selection of cooler items at the food counter is of a nice quality.

My fiancé and I frequent the Graduate hotel bar for drinks, leisure, and the occasional dinner. Each experience has been better than the last! The hotel staff is accommodating, fun, and genuine. We look forward to more unique experiences from the creative folks at the Graduate!

Such a fun spot! Spent a girls night here, and it was so nice to walk downstairs for great local coffee and breakfast without stepping foot in the cold the next morning. Would love to come back!

Great hotel. I know it may sound odd, but when I think of this hotel, one word comes to mind… "crisp'. They pay attention to everyone detail. I stay in hotels 340+ days a year and I can usually notice a thing or two that has been passed over or needs attention. Not at The Graduate. I would like to thank the entire staff for going above and beyond.

This hotel is immaculate… we loved every minute of our stay. The staff was so AWESOME. It has only been open a couple of months so the lack of microwaves may be one downfall for a short time. I know they accommodated all our needs. If we ever need to go back to the Richmond area. And the location is right, we will definitely stay here again.

Great hotel conveniently located to most attractions in Richmond. The hotel staff are friendly, helpful and made me feel welcome during my 2-day stay. Just love, love, love the decor. The rooms are spacious and clean. The area is very quite with off street parking which is a plus. Valet parking is $22.

There was no hot water in the room. I called and was informed someone from maintenance will be right up. After waiting 18 minutes and no one showing up I called again. I was told someone shouldn’t have been there and they will call again. 16 minuets later someone finally shows. I was using the rest room and asked for 5 minuets to finish. I opened the door 4 minutes later and they were gone. I once again called, explained what happened and was told that is not acceptable and someone would be right up. No one showed up and was forced to bath myself and my 16 month old child in barely lukewarm water. Will not be staying here again.

I stayed two nights in this hotel during my brother-in-law's wedding weekend. I ADORED all of the fun details in the decor and the beds were super comfortable and cozy. Staff was courteous and prompt. Service in the cafe in the lobby was s-l-o-w, but the food was delicious and worth the wait. Get the biscuit breakfast sandwich. You won't be disappointed.

Good place, the cleanliness is not so good does not ordain all, it seems that only cleaned above, the attention is good however there is no bar service in the roofgarden.

I stayed here last year forward two evenings. It looked like they had a renovation then, but was poorly done. The rooms did look worn, and many of the linens seems like they had had better days. Oddly, it seems the hotel is undergoing yet another renovation. They are currently closed now in 2015. I hope their current renovation goes better than their last.

When I first arrived Richmond, I was new to the place hence completely lost, the hotel staffs really went out of their way to accommodate my needs. (They moved a refrigerator and a microwave into my room! Just because I mentioned about having nowhere to store my overnight food, whoah! ) Despite the not so appealing dining experience (choices are limited due to hotel executive limitations, I'm semi-vegetarian thus I really hope they can add a salad bar to their breakfast buffet), the serving staffs are extremely helpful and you don't want to break their heart by not finishing your meal. BUT HONESTLY YOU CAN DO BETTER DOUBLETREE RVA! — you don't really need to dine in the hotel though, Richmond is well known for its prolific restaurants. I've seen people complain about the age of the hotel, and I have to admit there were certainly some flaws that I couldn't overlook, some of the facilities looked rather "historical" and made me wonder whether if it's in need of renovation, but I gradually grew fond of its unique features. For instance, the vintage elevator. The push buttons in the elevator clearly does not belong to the 21st century, they are round like fish eyes and are colored in this awkwardly adorable gray (from what I can recall). The interior of the elevators were fairly elegant and I haven't observed them close enough, but it seemed as if they were engraved.

Staff has been great but avoid the restaurant. $17 for a powdered egg and chopped up frozen breakfast sausage omlet? No thanks. But shame on me for not going out to one of the local spots. Paying for convenience I guess.

My little brother came home crying after his visit with my family to this hotel. The hotel offers no self-parking, therefore forcing you to use their valet service. A valet in their service stole my little brother's 3DS. The hotel refused to do anything about it, because he shouldn't have left it in the car. This is unacceptable. How can a six-year old boy be responsible for leaving his game in his own car at midnight after spending hours in the car that night? How is not the responsibility of the reprehensible valet who stole from a child? I will never stay at this hotel nor any hotel under the Hilton name ever again for what they did to my brother.

Gross. The hotel was recently renovated and has modern amenities and a nice lobby. BUT IT IS REALLY POORLY MAINTAINED! As soon as you get onto the guest room floor it is completely different. I have my small dog with me so I think we ended up on the pet floor. For an extra $50: the lamp shades are busted, the carpet is stained with pee, there are holes in the wall, and it smells. There were dirty dishes left on the console table right outside of the elevators. I saw staff walk right by and not even pick them up. It's just a bad scene.

Most accommodating hotel we've ever been to! Greeted my 5 children with kindness and sincerity. The beds were super comfortable, the rooms warm and cozy, and the food delicious. A friendly open bar area at night with delicious apps (i. E flat bread bruschetta, chicken wings) and easter buffet that made everyone happy and full! Never have I ever been to a hotel where ALL staff is professional, friendly and kind! THANK YOU! Would 100 % recommend and look forward to coming again.

I have stayed at this hotel three times while on business in Richmond. Each time, the rooms have been clean and comfortable, and the staff has been kind and helpful. It is very conveniently located and the fitness center, while small and with limited equipment (like most hotels) was very clean and the equipment was very nice and new. My last trip was the best as I checked in and discovered to my chagrin that I set up the room for the wrong nights. In fact, I had set them up for several days earlier on priceline and had obviously not used my reservation. Phillip, I believe was the name of the person checking me in and he assured me it was no problem, since the room had been paid for and I hadn't used it, he would make it work. Phillip was a great professional and helped this weary traveler relax that evening.
