I wanted to get away for my birthday and I'm glad I picked River Edge Inn for my mother and I to stay at. I wanted a nice view and a location that wasn't overly crowded. It might have been the time of the year (Sept) but I'm still thankful. The lady at the front desk was very kind and helpful. We also enjoyed being close to some nice places to visit and sightsee, in Virginia and Maryland.

This was the second year my husband and I stayed here. The owners and all the staff are so friendly, kind, generous and thoughtful. The rooms are very clean and the continental breakfast is excellent. Everyone goes the extra mile to help in any way needed and are very kind about it. They take time to talk to you and answer any questions. We look forward to our next vacation here.

The people who run this place are the NICEST, kindest people. Super friendly & hospitable, even bringing a cooler of drinks to us as we cooked out. Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Beautiful location.

A wonderful, clean, place to stay during a deadly pandemic. Mask friendly for your protection. ❤️ Kind and friendly service. Beautiful views, just a few steps from the river. Lovely.

During our visit I only had one major problem with the hotel. I will explain that problem first and then I will talk about all the good! I had stayed the first night and went the next morning for the continental breakfast that they offer and did not wear a mask. During check in I did not wear a mask and even when I locked myself out of my room I did not wear a mask to go get another card key. Then the second morning which was our check out day as I was leaving the breakfast area after getting my food I was approached by an older man (not sure if he was the owner or an employee) that I had seen several times upon going into the dining area walking around with a piece of paper maybe taking inventory or something that had no mask at all on any of the times that I seen him and tell me the next time I came in I needed to wear a mask! How can you ask someone to wear a mask when you yourself are not wearing one, so I checked out by phoning the office to let them know I was not coming in to check out because I do not own a mask nor do I have any intention of wearing one. Other than that our stay was very good. All employees were great, housekeeping did a great job of providing clean rooms. All amenities were great. Although our room did have a very pungent smell of mildew and they had several air fresheners around the room to try and help the smell but it was extremely strong!

I came down for a quick overnighter with my kids and grandkiddos. I cant say enough good things about your hotel! The staff, the cleanliness, the atmosphere, the pool, the breakfast… all wonderful! We could not have had a greater time! Colonial Beach is lovely! And we will definitely be coming back to stay at Rivers Edge Inn❤

This place is great! Very reasonable especially for waterfront! Very clean and everyone is extremely friendly! Plus when the owner realized we were recently married this was brought to our room! Great people!

This was our first visit to Colonial Beach. There were not many hotel options in this little town but I was pleasantly surprised by this family owned motel. Normally smaller motels are not a place I would stay with my family but this hotel is quaint and clean. Plenty of parking and access right to the beach. The staff was attentive and pleasant. Great pool and free breakfast. If you visit the area this is the place to stay.

First, I ask for a room w/king size bed was given a double queen size room,
Second, when I ask for the king size room the one she gave us smell like dead fish.
Back for the third time given room next to the first one.
Breakfast was good, and the place is clean.
