My husband & I took a trip to Galveston this weekend for a little get away trip. Of course with the prices of the beachfront hotels, we decided to book a hotel that came with a little drive that we didn’t mind. America’s best value inn & suits was very affordable so that’s what we went with. Although the price & location was great, our stay was not. When we checked in, we were given room 113 and within 40 minutes of being in the room, my husband killed 3 roaches. Aside from the roaches, the room smelt like a smoke shop when it was supposed to be a non-smoking room, carpet had several visible stains with a weird smell, and the bathroom was dirty so by that time, I was over it. On a good note, when I went to the desk to request a new room or a refund the woman at the front desk was very willing to fix any issues and very sweet. On to the next room, room 206 was better. The carpet was still dirty but smelt 100x better and the bathroom was clean so we decided to stay & just get it over with. We were barely at the hotel throughout the weekend but we did end up going to the lounge Saturday night to have a couple of drinks & play pool. The bartenders were nice & the lounge had a good vibe except the “bouncer”, “security”, or whatever he thought he was. From the time that my husband & I walked in til the time we left, this guy who seemed to work for the hotel followed & starred at us as if we were doing something wrong. It made us very uncomfortable & as if he was stereotyping us.

The decor needed updating. The room itself was decently sized. There is not a lot of staff. It has a very 1970s vibe, which was interesting.

The room was okay. It wasn't anything fancy but it was very clean. We were only staying for 1 night so it was fine. The ONLY thing I was looking for was it be clean, not be in the middle of the hood and the hotel be free of any bugs etc. It passed all of those! The shower wouldn't get really hot. It wasn't cold but it wasn't hot. It was warm. It was manageable after a long day at the beach. Considering all of the hotels in Galveston were 250-350 a night, I would definitely come back here. It's cheaper and I'm just not going to pay the much for a hotel.

The WORST rooms I have ever been. Very dirty and coffee maker also. Very Bad experience. Will NEVER recommend NO body.

Absolutely disgusting. Smells like you know what and room service hadn't even tried to come by. Wouldn't be staying here If I hadn't already paid. Stay away!

Very very ghetto and scary. As soon as we get there and trying to go up the stairs a man was blocking the stairway and smoking marijuana. Every time we went outside we were stopped by the same women soliciting us for money, she also knocked on our door trying to sell us food. Entire hotel stinks like smoke. Our room was so filthy my feet were black just from walking on the floor. No hot water in the shower. ROACHES on the wall. When I went to blow dry my hair, a roach flew out into my hair. We were limited where we could stay because we had our dog. But I would have rather slept in the truck. This hotel is disgusting and unsafe!

Very nice, good service. Breakfast needs to be improved. Pancake cookers but no mix. Toast and cereal. Muffins now and then quiet secure.

Staff was extremely friendly and helpful but the room was nasty and falling apart. They have a nice pool and an adult sports bar and great customer service they just need a Huge remodel.

Don't come here if you expect toilet paper in bathroom. Had to go ask front desk for it. Coffee pot in room was unusable as it was missing the basket where the coffee goes. Also, there was nothing to make coffee with. There were only two wrapped plastic cups hidden in the ice bucket. The ice machine didn't work. Wall lamps had a layer of dust & lint on them, electric sockets were iffy. They charged an exorbitant amount for a small pet. Will not stay here again. Only reason for one star is you can't give anything lower, otherwise it would have been a minus 1.

Not a bad place to stay. I enjoyed their bar we played pool all night.

As soon as you pull up the parking lot looks ghetto. Had to wait 30 min. To check in at arrival with only one front desk person. The WHOLE hotel smells like smoke… once we got in the room, the beds are so hard it was uncomfortable to sleep.

Roaches in bathroom. Not hot water. In room phone did not work.

Well let's start with getting into the room and to shower, the shower has very poor water pressure and wouldn't hardly get the soap off. Had trouble getting the furnace to work. Smelled like cigarettes through out the motel, halls, lobby area, Restraunt area, and rooms. Got settled in bed, ready to go to sleep, got up after 5mins of lights being turned off to go to restroom and when turning in lights the cockroaches had come out and was everywhere. Went to front desk to let them know and front desk lady ask if we wanted to leave. (Should have) got another room and inspected it with a fine tooth comb. Didn't see any roaches but did see the carpet wasn't very clean and walls are dirty. Could use more cleaning, better cleaning. Next morning went to shower and the handle on shower fell off. Gonna fix coffee and the coffee maker was very dirty with dead bugs inside of maker. Breakfast area has folks in corners asleep and laid out in booths. Trash is piled up outside around trash can and piled up on ground in a small fence area. No wonder why there is cockroaches so bad. I just looked up the star ratings but didn't read the reviews. The ratings are off, wouldn't even give them a 1 star but had to just to leave a review. I wouldn't recommend staying at this motel. Dirty, Nasty, infested with COCKROACHES.

Very friendly and attentive staff. Nice clean hotel. Large rooms. Great place for a one night stand!

Since we checked in 3 Days after Hurricane Harvey hit and my family lost our home and almost everything in it we have been very blessed to find rooms in this hotel. They have done amazing things to make our stay comfortable. Any and all issues are addressed and fixed immediately and they staff has been extremely caring and helpful.

The room was neat and clean. It's a nice place.

The management and staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Cleanliness is a big issue I had to get another room it wasn't up to par. Also decor and amenities are outdated and diminished.

Great specials and room rates bar is nice too great customer service and good selection of drinks rooms are your normal rooms nothing fancy.

It was really good. I stayed for a night after a long day and the beds were very comfortable. The rooms and hallways does smell outdated but you get used to the smell. Also the breakfast is really good. The only con is that the rooms are kinda small but very comfortable.

Worth every cent paid! Room was clean, sorta 80's but clean and neat. Smelled good and was well stocked. Breakfast was a basic continental with no frills. Front desk staff was excellent. The only things I didn't appreciate was the "hidden until check out" funny tax and safe charge. Not a big deal but $7 that sorta slips up on you.

Great service. Employees were very nice and helpful. Looks like they are either working on the building or they need to be. It looks a little worn. Minor repairs would have this place looking much better. Very comfortable and the location was great. Easy access to the interstate.

Has everything u need, restaurant, game room, bar, and great pool. Adult pleasure too.

I wasn't looking for anything fancy because this was a quick trip with my family and we would be out of the hotel most of the time. We arrived at the hotel around 12 am and upon entering, the hotel smelled heavily of smoke. Once I received my keys we headed to our room and the lingering smell of smoke traveled down the hallway. We had requested a non-smoking room due to my asthma and having 4 small children. It didn't even matter, the room smelled heavily of smoke and mold. The towels were stained and had holes in them. The bathroom was terrible! The paint was peeling from water damage and the shower head looked broken. The toilet paper wasn't even on a holder and the lights hardly worked. The carpets were sticky and the walls that were previously damaged, they didn't even bother sanding or painting the cheap patch job. I swear there were bed bugs because my daughter had 2 red marks on her neck the next morning. I had to leave! We didn't even stay 8 hours in that room and left to go to a new hotel. Upon leaving, there were beer bottles scattered in the grass. The pictures of the hotel on these sites are not up to date! Not sure what room Max B had but my room was not clean or remodeled. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone! It reminds me of the hotels you see on cops when they are setting up a prostitution sting. Scary!

This price for the stay way worth it. Clean room with an old fashioned style layout. It is also close to a bingo hall that has great play times and kids over 7 can go… Well good luck to all.

For the price we paid it was fantastic! Great staff, fast service, and everything we needed including a pool. Breakfast was skimpy, but for what we paid we will definitely go again!

Speedy check in and friendly staff. The rooms and bathrooms were clean which to me is vital. Great parking and being able to keep an eye on your vehicle is a plus. Breakfast could use a major upgrade, but then again, I'd rather eat when I'm out and about anyway. Other than that, great experience… we would stay again!

Horrible, simply Horrible!
Last weekend my family and I we stayed in that horrible place, the first thing that happened to us was that we paid more than $300.00 for a quarter, with a single room for 2 nights. When we entered the room, everything was old and dirty, it stank horrible. The bath did not have enough water. The next day we went out walking and when we came back not avian laying bed, carpet is wet, that the air is des composed, the pool is going dirty.
I simply cannot recommend it.
