The stay was okay but upon check in the two ladies that worked night shift on Friday Dec 31st 2021. These two ladies were the worse the bigger one was so rude as if she didn't wanna be at work, if you don't like your job maybe you should pick a different career. No one spending their money should have to deal with rude staff at all! We got two rooms and if it wasn't for small kids being with us we would've gone somewhere else.

Update: at least the maintenance man was really nice and professional and customer service oriented when he came to fix the backed up sink… Absolutely the worst stay I’ve ever had here! Made online reservation with a credit card and my son got to hotel before I did, I had called and made sure he could get in before I got here and was told no problem, he gets here, they demand a credit card so I ask why they couldn’t just use the one on file that I had made reservations with and the guy was rude and couldn’t explain why just that he needed the card right then, so aggravating but put it on a credit card my son had with him… finally get here and go to desk to get my key and then they want to put it on the credit card I originally reserved room with… told them they weren’t charging me twice… no luggage racks available, only one of the three elevators working… room smelled like rotten eggs… I’m definitely not very happy with this place and very disappointed in how they treat their guests!

Horrible/non-existent security. Truck was broken into on 3/1/2021 resulting in $3k in damages and $12k in stolen property. There were other cars in the same gated parking lot which were also broken into. We were there for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Gilt Show. Additionally, our delivery from Tiff's Treats which we have photo confirmation of it being delivered at the reception desk at 4:30pm on 2/28/21 never got to us. No accountability from this hotel and management. I learned from Houston PD that there are break-ins at this hotel parking lot every year and mentioned to me that this hotel has not done anything to help alleviate this issue. Lost property on me as I had the truck unfortunately semi-loaded up ready to go that morning.

Great Staff & Great Customer Service.

I appreciate that I was able to early vote at this location today. I was able to avoid long lines. Staff was super sanitary as they did provide the public with finger cots, hand sanitizer and social distancing ground markers. All done to ensure public safety.

Older hotel, but the staff and location to NRG Stadium more than make up for it. Great bar, and fast elevators. There’s a decent strip mall across the street for a reasonable meal. If I am attending something at NRG I’ll definitely be staying here.

This hotel has the best staff. They remember you from previous stays and are extremely helpful.

These people are charging for breakfast & parking while people are there mostly for medical reasons.
You can pretty much go to any hotel and get free breakfast and free parking. My daughter in her last minute efforts to find a hotel after driving from Louisiana and finding out my granson was sick this hotel charges her for freaking parking & breakfast! And they have no surveillance in the parking lot that they charge you for! And someone hit her car with their car door.
Everybody at this location was very kind but shame on holiday inn for charging people for parking and breakfast!

Horrible experience! Do not stay here! When we arrived I asked for a lower floor. We were told none were available. Our room was on the top floor. We walked in our room and if felt like a sauna. The ac was set on 70, so it should have been cool. We went down to the front desk to ask for another room. Magically they had a room on the 2nd floor. This room was cool, but then around midnight the ac in this room stopped working. The next morning when we we to check out I went to the front desk and asked if I could please see a manager. I was told very bluntly, "It is the weekend, there is no manager working. She will review your bill and email you. I asked if she could please call me. She just repeated, she will review your bill and email you. At this point I realized I was getting nowhere and left. I will not be returning!

A friend of ours stays here every time he has to go to M. D. Anderson. I had to have back surgery and our friend suggested Holiday Inn. My husband and I are very satisfied with the service at the front desk and the restaurant. Every one has been so nice. The shuttle bus service is great and all are so friendly. Our room is nice. The bed is harder than ours at home but still nice. They clean the room daily and do a very good job. I have read the reviews and was a little nervous about staying here but these people complaining must complain about everything every day. We have been very satisfied with our week stay. You will be too.

We go to Houston every year for medical appointments at MD Anderson. This hotel is close to the hospital but not in the middle of business. Great restaurants nearby, too. We were greeted as we walked in the door. Very friendly staff. A/C worked like a champ. We will definitely be back.

Would give zero stars if I could. The manager needs to work on customer service skills. We arrived after 4:30 and were told there were no rooms available and they had no time frame on when one would be available. I kept asking over and over if they could provide a time frame because we had somewhere to be by 6:30 and needed to get ready. The front desk person and the manager both just said they couldn't tell me when we could check in. After being persistent they said maybe 30 minutes or longer they just couldn't tell. Even after all of this, neither of them could even apologize. Not once through this whole ordeal did they even offer an apology or any kind of incentive for the inconvenience. I came back in about 15 minutes later to get an update and the front desk person (a new one) said he couldn't tell me b/c I was in the other persons queue so he didn't have a time. The manager came up again, and just said she couldn't give me a time and that housekeeping was working on it. That it could be any second or longer. I tried to explain that we were on a time crunch so any room would do. She seemed to be very adamant that we only get a king room. The manager just was not friendly at all. Another employee overheard us talking and immediately found us a room, funny especially since I was told by 3 other people there were no rooms ready.

This holiday is very convenient when I was working for a week at NRG. The front desk staff were very nice and helpful. I also enjoyed the restaurant. The workout center is very small but they do have free weights. The housekeeping was not good. I stayed there for 7 nights and 3 of those days the maid just skipped my room. For me that is unacceptable.

Hotel is nice. However when the room was cleaned we had to keep going downstairs to get new shampoos and soaps. Also about 9 cars were broken into. When the cops called our friend back they were no help and said they are still working on the case from last weekend. So area seems to be high crime. Not a good feeling.

Room is clean and decent. Shower is horrible. New keurig coffee maker in room. Clean pool. Not a bad place, but very disappointed in the shower. (Old shower head that either sprays way too hard or way too soft. No in between settings).

Rooms were clean and as expected, food and service was good. Had some issues with our reservation (breakfast was thought to have been purchased when the reservation was made but we were told this was not the case upon arrival). Overall, I am happy with my experience.

Great location, near shopping and food. Parking is plentiful. The room was spacious and comfortable. They dont have a complimentry breakfast but they have a restaurant with a nice assortment of options, and a personable staff.

While I did not stay in this Hotel, personally, it was very nice and seemed well kept. It was clean and had a great family atmosphere. We sat in the foyer and chatted. There were some teens playing Monopoly on tables near us.

My dad comes down for check ups at MD Anderson. Always stays here. Gets a great deal and it's convenient. I've honestly only seen the lobby, but it is very nice. Recently redone.

Excellent excellent exceptional nothing else to say all very clean all good just the staff. Of reception I think it must almost by obligation to be bilingual that of walking struggling that do not speak Spanish is not well as it is expected a good service but that yes very very very kind definitive always want to return here.

My family and I were VERY disappointed in this hotel. For a Holiday Inn, we had higher expectations. Starting with rooms not ready long after check in time, to dirty rooms that claimed to have been cleaned each day. Then the attitudes of housekeeping when asked about cleaning the rooms. Had to ask for towels each day, because none were left. For $300/ night, one should have not only clean rooms, but Maybe even updating or a facelift for the hotel. The only thing they have going for them besides the location, is the BEST and most kind shuttle driver one could ask for — Ronnie by far is their Gem!

Sale Rep was fantastic. The Director over the food was very nice. If I had to come back I would.

Recently renovated, nice new spacious rooms. Decent service, restaurant was pretty mediocre though despite good intriguing descriptions of the dishes. Service at the restaurant was slow. Overall pretty solid holiday inn stay.

Nice rooms for how old they appear. Fitness room was clean and offered free water and fruit. Equipment was also clean. Unfortunately there was a water pipe that broke and flooded the lobby. Hotel management did a great job getting the issue fixed promptly. Front desk and restaurant service was very friendly.

I was just at the bar at the hotel for a social after a meeting. It's a typical Hotel bar with over price drinks. Our group of 15 really overwhelmed the bartender as she was the only person there to serve all of us and the regular half dozen or so Hotel guests. I guess if you're staying in the hotel and you need a drink and don't want to leave the building come to the bar. There's no other reason to come here.

This is a nice place. The lobby feels really elegant, and there's a fancy restaurant in the hotel. The room was clean and nice, and the beds were decently comfortable.

Good location, easy to get to and from all major attractions in the area. Service is good. Hallways look a little drab but all that matters is the room which is nice, new, clean. Has all the usual services and amenities to make the stay good.

Older hotel that had been nicely remodeled. Nice bar and restaurant as well as outdoor pool area. My nicely decorated room overlooked NRG stadium so this would make a great choice if you were staying in the area to catch a football game.

Had to use location for tests on child in med center. Location was minutes away and facility was suites our needs. Staff was well run and helpful. Kids eat free with adult purchase was an unexpected but nice addition to whole experience.

Excellent location for attending the Stadium NRG.

I expexted a better bathroom and free breakfast. The continental breakfast was 10 dollars versus other places free. The rooms and beds were nice, so it was only an ok visit.

I started here because it's close to MD Anderson. Bad idea. Several rude front desk clerks. Horrible bus schedule. If you've got an appointment at MD Anderson, they don't care if you're late. The drivers won't go off the schedule. And there are absolutely NO ADA rooms. And the 1 shuttle they do have, is not an ADA shuttle. This hotel is NOT wheelchair friendly at all. No handicap buttons for any common access doors. If you're in a wheelchair, I would not recommend this hotel. The only reason I'm giving this a 1-Star review is because the pool has a chair lift, and the restaurant/bar staff was great.

Nice location but a bit dated. 4 night stay and they didn't clean the room one day as they said we had the sign up, but clearly it was in our room. Next day room was still not cleaned at 3:30pm. Asked at the desk and they begrudgingly cleaned it ASAP which took 2 hours while we waited.

Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast down in the lobby was wonderful and consistently delicious, the wait staff was very friendly and tolerated our two young children with much care! Hotel room was clean, there is a single cup Keurig in the room, with k-cups, which makes waking up much easier. The only issues we had were that the door key cards were difficult to make work, and the I've machine on our floor was broken and we had to go to a different floor each time we needed ice. Great job Holiday inn, and thank you!

A good location close to downtown. The rooms are nice, clean, and fairly modern. The service has been great. I would recommend this motel to anyone staying downtown Huston.

Remodeled!. Modern & Clean. Warning in the double-queen rooms there's only 1 desk chair (no other side chair to sit in). Restaurant also clean and bright. My food selection (Cobb salad) was very fresh. Pool located in nice atrium Staff is friendly and helpful. Overall positive experience.

This HI location is very convenient to NRG Stadium and the many Texas Medical Center hospitals (including MD Anderson Cancer Center). It has a free shuttle to MDA and other hospitals at the bottom of the hour from 6:30 am to 10:30 pm every day. This location is very recently remodeled and well taken care of. The staff is friendly and helpful and several of them have been here for many years and just do a fabulous job. I look forward to seeing them each time I stay here. This HI has a fitness center, business center, pool, hot tub, bar, snack store and a full restaurant. The full restaurant is different from the usual HI business model which usually includes free breakfast for all guests. Please check your rate plan to determine if breakfast comes with your room. Not all of the rate plans come with breakfast.

Rooms were really nice and great service.

Baron Vondfelt (the evening shift manager) is very kind and helpful. My wife and I stayed in the luxurious honeymoon sweet during the entire Houston Rodeo. It was amazi g sharing the same hotel with all the rodeo clowns and carnival people. Just when we thought we had seen it all, Baron invited us to the VIP lounge in the basement. Amazing.

I use to love this hotel. Its near my office so its super convenient. That was until my vehicle got broke in to. Normally I would take the hit and say its 100% my fault. But there is a back story. I have stayed at this hotel over 100 nights and never so much as had the dirt disturbed on it. My stay for this particular weekend they where moving me room to room due to availability. I left my stuff in my truck in a well lit section were I park all the time, when I got back after 330am. Now I cant say the guard was sleeping or awake but he was laid back in a chair outside, instead of riding around like normal. I came out to go get food and discover my stuff gone. The hotel only offered me free rooms since their insurance denied the claim. I can say after talks with other guest, I will no longer be staying here.

The best location for attending events at NRG stadium, is reached on foot. Good facilities, all staff very friendly and the shuttle service super helpful.

This Holiday inn was perfect to stay at because of it being so close to the NRG stadium. It has a gate that connects to the parking lot of the event center which made it very convenient to get back to our room after the concert. Bathroom was kind of small but I understand the layout in order to make room for other areas. Bar gets pretty packed before events — and there was limited seating.

It was nice to stay so close to the NRG Center, with only 10 minute walk through the parking lot to be there on time and start at 8AM at our booth. Personally, I did not like this hotel. The furniture in the room was new, but doors were old and make me wonder if they could be forced open with little to no effort. The breakfast buffet was expensive and not so good. There were few choices of food and it was not always at the right temperature/freshness. Another issue was the attitude of the waiters. Finally, the room was cold for my taste, could have used an extra blanket or a good working thermostat.

Unfortunately one of the main selling points of this hotel is the easy access to the NRG via back gate which happened to be locked the whole weekend. NRG controls the gate and didn't staff it during our stay for some reason. There is a whole in the fence a little bit from the gate, but that is beside the point. Room was clean and staff courteous. Restaurant had a small kitchen fire on saturday which delayed our ice cream sundaes but manager comped them since it took almost two hours to deliver to our room.

Great location for RodeoHouston, hotels has been updated, however you can definitely tell the older areas.

Customer service AFTER issues is par. The customer service to PREVENT problems is rather lacking. Breakfast restaurant has the longest wait times for getting; seated, food, beverage. One very rude server works here. They push the buffet entirely way to hard. Bar is a nice ammentiy to have on site, but expect slow service, and sub par food-with a high price. Think 20 to 30 minutes between check ins from your server. This property has ONE, yes, 1 washer and 1 dryer, for 11 floors of rooms. Wi-Fi will connect to your device, but it's a good chance you won't have actual connectivity to the internet. The refrigerator in room 210 freezes food and beverage, no control knob to adjust the temperature. Grounds are nice, rooms are clean & up to date.

We stayed here week of Christmas 2015, rooms we're updated and clean, the most enjoyable part of the stay, it was super quiet we didn't hear people running or talking down halls or next door. We actually got to rest.

WARNING: WARNING: Do not stay here. It is not safe! On December 17, 2015 a man attempted to rob us at gunpoint. He shot a semi automatic weapon at my husband and I. My husband was shot 2 times and nearly bled to death in the parking lot. When police go to investigate, it turns out the SIX security cameras facing the parking lot are FAKE. They know the cameras don't work and in this "newly renovated" hotel they didn't bother to fix them. So far my combat veteran husband who did 2 tours to Iraq is still in the hospital after 6 days and there's no hope of finding the shooter. We stayed in the medical center to be close to the hospital where he was supposed to be tested for cancer the next day and now that is on hold. UNLESS you carry a concealed weapon and are prepared to fight for your family DON'T STAY HERE! We are alive because my husband shot back.

Facility was fine. Staff could be more courteous. When I first arrived I went to the only person behind the desk to check in. She was on the phone so I waited. She did not even acknowledge me. When I finally told her I'm here to check in, she looked at me like I was bothering her, pointed me to the next station, and called for someone else to help me. The lady who ultimately helped me was fine, but the first lady probably shouldn't be working the front desk.

I have stayed at this place about 12 seperate times in the past 5 years and I have never had one complaint. I've tried 3 other hotels in the area but I always thought this one was the best for the cost.

The customer service is excellent. I had made a mistake in my reservation. Stef at the front desk patiently and kindly booked me a room with a great rate and helped me get a full refund from the third party from which I had done my initial booking.

I am an MD Anderson patient. Rotary House was full so this hotel was recommended. Had a surprise package sent to me from my children that nobody in the hotel told me had arrived. If my children hadn't asked why I said nothing the package would still be there. Package was not even registered when it arrived. Had to search through a room full of packages to find mine. Dinner food was absolutely terrible. My iced tea glass had lipstick on it. Worst of all is that I wrote a letter to the manager who hasn't even taken the time to respond. Management obviously doesn't care about guest satisfaction. Employees were very good. Tried hard to make up for management issues but seem to have their hands tied. Will not stay here when we go back to MD Anderson and would not recommend to others.

Don't stay here TV was not working hair in the bathtub, inside the coffee maker had a Condom! Bathroom floor was very sticky shower head was dirty etc etc etc, save your money and time you will be disappointed.

This review is for Mr. Julian, what a nice guy. The room next to ours had a small leak, and some water made it into our room. Julian was quick to get us moved into a new room, and is even taking care of getting my clothes cleaned for me. (So this is why you never leave your suitcase on the floor lol). I appreciate that he didn't roll his eyes at my special request that the clothes don't go in the dryer. We appreciate the timely manner in which we were taken care of.

I was very upset with the pricing of this hotel. They didn't offer breakfast however if you paid $10.00 a person you could eat at their restaurant downstairs. The beds were soft and there was a mini fridge and microwave in the room. I was not impressed.

Worst holiday inn I have been to yet. They charged me $25 for no apparent reason. They do not have a free breakfast. It smells like a smoking floor on the non-smoking and the staff is rude.

Holiday Inn…. My very recent stay at Holiday Inn was a disaster! Upon making my reservation the Holiday Inn phone representative mentioned, “Holiday Inn just spent millions of dollars renovating their hotels”…. She assured me my stay would be enjoyable. My room rate $146.00 per night, I reserved 5 nights. They offered me a two nights free in Florida, Utah, or Las Vegas, if I listened to their advertisement. Entering the room, these pictures speak of my experience; there were so many deficiencies I was shocked. I was offered another room, however; it didn’t look any different. With no time, and a busy schedule, I decided to stay. They did come in and clean things up, however, their “millions of dollars” in renovations was not used at this hotel. Here is my list and pictures: 1. A dirty glaze on the bathroom counters, furniture and office desk. 2. An un-vacuumed floor. 3. Water leaks and patching on the ceiling. 4. The water main broke, so we were out of water for 2 hours. It took 3 hours to run the water so it was clean again…. I wish I would have taken pictures of that experience! 5. The office table had coffee stains, straw, food crumbs, and food stains. The office chair, the picture speaks well! 6. Bedside stand had milk and sugar remains. 7. The showerhead was dirty; I cleaned it after I took the picture. That is not calcium build up! 8. Fire Sprinkler head covered with so much paint on the glass bulb, it would extend the fire temperature set off.

MEDIOCRE! I've stayed here 5 or 6 times over the past 3 years. This place has great potential but falls short in so many ways. The atmosphere is slow and dull. I encourage the owner or the person responsible with IHG to do an "Undercover Boss" episode and straighten this place out.

Around 1989 stayed in this horrible place. Our van got robbed while in the lot. Clerk asked if we wanted to buy lot insurance in case of break ins. Should of known. To this day I feel it was a inside job. Our van was the only target that night. Clerk made some comments that really made him look guilty. This is all the short version of the story. But be aware holiday inn, my memory is long. In 1989 al gore had not invented the internet yet so no one would ever think about public reviews decades later. I will never stay in a holiday inn because of this, heck I wont even pee in your pools.
