Had a great stay here but stupid me left my bridal set in the ladies bathroom near the lobby. By the time I realized it, of course it was gone. Called the police and and only 4 people went into the bathroom after me, 2 of them employees, so my guess is they don’t have an HONEST employee there. I’m praying the detectives get to the bottom of it. Other than that, oh and the 2 cockroaches 🪳I seen in my 2 Queen beds, oceanfront with a jacuzzi room our stay was lovely. Just don’t leave your suitcases or bags unzipped or you might bring home unwanted guests.

We arrived at 2, it’s 4:11 & they still don’t have our room ready. We had requested a ground floor room when we made the reservation & we’re told it’s not ready because the cleaning people just got back from lunch. Our grandson is asleep on my lap. There is no sofa in the lobby & only bar height chairs. LAME!
They did offer us a room on the 2nd, 3rd or 4th floor.

Right on the beach, safety measures in place. LaQuinta has friendly staff that are always polite. We are able to walk on the beach or go to the bar next door.

Breakfast was a highlight along with the balcony over looking the ocean. There were a couple things that need attention. They need to get pest control in those rooms more often because insects in the room. The room looks clean although during these times, we still sanitized all hand touching related surfaces.

This has always been a favorite of mine. They have spacious rooms and great service. Even at 1 am when we go buy ice cream at the front desk.

After going there the past 12 years for summer vacation this past year it was horrible! We have never been so disgusted with the staff and service! The staff was rude and disrespectful and had no consideration for their guests. We spoke to the manager and she didn’t seem to care about the disrespect of her staff. I wouldn’t not recommend staying there to anyone!

Room was very clean, awesome view of the ocean and landscape, my children and my self enjoyed everything about this hotel. The pool area was clean, the access to the beach was a breeze, I would stat again if I ever do another vacation in South Padre Island… the price was also great.

Excellent place to stay on the island. You have a private walk to the beach. It has a bar downstairs as well. Prices are reasonable and there plenty of parking. Staff is friendly and the place is clean. You also have a swimming pool but why do that when you can enjoy the blue Texas beach?

I fell in love with La Quinta a few years ago when we visited found one in Nashville, Tennessee. Down here in South Padre Island was something special. Our room was very cozy. With a beautiful view of the gulf. The people who took great care of us was outstanding. I highly recommend this hotel if you ever decide to visit… I do plan to come back with friends and family…

Absolutely love the location of this hotel. Being right on the beach & on the far end of the strip means you can walk on the beach, go left, & it is not overly crowded. Breakfast area was large, food was good. The room was just an average hotel room, I have no complaints. It was clean, everything was in working order, and we had a great stay. Also, no complaints about hotel staff. We were sad to leave.

My stay was great. The room was clean and big enough for 4 people to move around comfortably. Our balcony however was small. Easy beach access, a bar next door and another small patio with live music. Access to all without having to go to far. They have fireworks every Friday. The breakfast was good. They have a section where you can order your own omelet. Staff was nice and accommodating. The only thing I wasn't to impressed about was the checking in part. Check in was at 4, we got there at 4:30 pm and still had to wait an hour to have a room available. Also the hall, there is only one, is kind of narrow so makes it difficult for maneuvering around when everyone had beach chairs, tents, coolers etc. However I would still recommend and will likely stay there again.

This is the exact kind of place we were looking for our family vacation. The close location to the beach is wonderful especially when you're dealing with kids. The pool was nice but a bit on the small side considering the number of guests at the hotel. The breakfast was wonderful. Three kinds of scrambled eggs plus an omelet bar, waffles with strawberries and whipped cream and, so much more, yum! The room was very nice and clean with high ceilings and comfy beds. The bathroom was a nice size and the shower had great water pressure. The staff was friendly and check in was a breeze. Housekeeping did an awesome job. We would definitely stay here again.

My first room (reserved since December 2017) wasn’t ready until 4 pm. When I got myself situated and went to shower, my bathroom door was locked. My nephew went to the front desk to request Maintainence since Housekeeping was unable to assist. Half an hour later with no resolution in sight (and only 25 minutes to get ready for the wedding that took a 12 hour drive to get to), I went to the front desk to change rooms. So, I did get a second room and noticed no phone in sight. I arrived 20 minutes late to the wedding I served in. Was extremely aggravated. I am staying an extra night on SPI and chose another place to stay. At $351 a night, the room should have been able to meet or exceed my expectations.

Check-in to check-out was a breeze no issues! Hotel is right off the beach also which is a plus and next to clayton's, so the location is perfect! Our Room was clean and cozy! We had everything we needed. Front desk was friendly! Would stay here again!

Great pool for little ones, great location, beach access, and clean. The free breakfast was great! standard stuff plus omelets to order and make your own breakfast tacos. The only thing was smooth tile floor everywhere. So my son did slip and fall, I almost did myself. A textured safety tile would be better.

The only advantage this hotel had is access right on the beach. The hotel is in need of cleaning/upgrade. The staff was not helpful with giving advice for places to eat on the island only pushed their hamburger and pizza shack. Very noise people above us, sounded like a herd of Buffalo told the front desk, never stopped. The free breakfast got old quick. The souvenir / trinkets shop is small, very small. Mixed drinks are very weak/watery. Definitely not worth the price they are charging. The stay wasn't bad, had better had worse.

The room had a moldy smell and the balcony rail was coming apart… nothing fancy at all for the price… that said the staff was friendly and the food truck was good… live music and fireworks were a nice touch.

This is the 2nd consecutive year that I bring my family to this inn. Its conveniently in front of the beach and the rooms are nice for the price they go for. Plan ahead of time and reserve ahead of time.

The only positive thing about this place is that it is very close to the beach (it has direct access), the employees are very friendly (I had to demand that I move to another room and if they did), and the breakfast they offer is very rich (lots of variety like breakfast tacos, waffles, omelets, cereal, etc. ). Now the negative, and the reasons why I would never hospidare in this hotel: they have a cockroach problem in the rooms! When we got there, they put us in room 210. All good (normal, not super) until I went to the bathroom. There was a cockroach about an inch down the door frame. I'm not used to cockroaches, much less I hope to have that problem in hotels. Well, I talked to the front desk and explained what was going on and demanded that I be moved to another part of the hotel. All they could do was move me into the room directly across the hall, room 209. I thought "worse is nothing", and we moved to that room. Only there we also look at 5 other cockroaches (more girls) that we had to kill. Later, we noticed that the pillows and towels were too many dirty, with old spots. We had to ask them to change everything. At the end of it all, I expected the hotel to apologize formally, but none of that. I'm convinced I'm never going to hospidarme at the Quinta Inn South Padre Island.

Wow a perfect a place to stay with your Dog (s) Right on the beach. Ask for a beach view for the best experience. No extra fee for pets unless they caused damage. Claytons right next door is also dog friendly on their immense beach patio. You won'twant to leave, I promise!

We stayed 3 nights for an anniversary weekend and really enjoyed it. The room was very clean. The hotel was also very clean. Bed was comfortable. Location is great. Beach access and a nice area out by the pool to enjoy some sun. Would stay here again and would recommend it to anyone. One thing that could be changed would be to have a true bartender at the bars. Ate at the Lookout place located at the hotel and it was also good.

This hotel was horrible! For the price we paid I should demand a refund! The first night the place next door played music and fireworks til really late did not get any sleep! The curtains had holes in them to block out the sun! The toilet clogged very easy with just a little
Toilet paper! No hot water from the bathroom sink! We stayed in one rooms that had the balcony with the ocean view and the free breakfast the only thing good was the custom omelets the regular eggs were runny I was wondering if they were even cooked and the pre done waffles were rock hard it was just a whole miserable experience to spend my 50th birthday wont be going there again.

Good stay, the beach we touched very clean. I liked it because the beach is super close not to walk much to get to it. Breakfast was good and the price was good.

Excellent value. Great place to stay at South Padre. Guest's dogs were well behaved. Restaurant was decent. Great ocean views. Staff was friendly and helpful. We got there late the first night of 2 and our ocean view room wasn't available. It wasn't a big deal, but the guy on duty suggested I talk to a manager the next day, which I did. The manager offered us the ocean view room for our 2nd night and a restaurant gift card. I appreciated the accomodation. He was friendly and gracious about it. Honestly, everyone here was quite friendly. I would stay here again!

I love the beds, so comfy and they have a great bar with friendly staff. My husband and I love staying here! They have a big patio area and it's very close to the shore. Plus, they have a breakfast buffet which is delicious!

Both Vanessa and Martha were very welcoming upon my arrival and continue to be friendly and professional. My room is clean and quiet. The restaurant is very good with both comfort food and local fare. There's plenty of convenient parking, a convenience store, and an atm. My room has a jetted bath with direct access to a dog park and steps from the beach. The deck is beautiful too. This hotel is a gem and one of the last on the island with less traffic than other areas.

Great location. However, we dropped out stuff off in our room after checking in. We went down to check out the beach. When we opened up the door to our room again we saw multiple cockroaches scatter. We got a could of them before they hid. We went down to the desk to complain and the lady at the counter asked how many we saw then apologized. She also gave us a discount for the room and switched us rooms. The second room was good. At first then we saw another. Needless to say we slept with the lights on that night. Two stars just because of how nice the staff was to us about it all.

If you like to bring your pets, this is the place! If you are a non-pet person, then its not. I've never seen so many dogs in a hotel before. The hotel does a great job keeping the place clean. The staff is friendly, especially at The Lookout restaurant. The ac was way too loud though.

I walked into my room and saw a roach run under the bench. Water pressure in the shower was horrible unless you put it on scalding hot. The towels smelled like vinegar. Bar/restaurant area was nice in the evening but that was the only thing I liked about staying here. Note that I stayed here on a work trip not for vacation/fun. Also, I was tax exempt and informed them of that when making reservations. They make the process way more complicated than it should be by charging immediately upon check-in so that they have to give me a reimbursement when I check-out. That means twice as much paperwork for me. They informed me that "It was their policy. " I have stayed at dozens of hotels, included many other La Quinta's, and have never had this issue. I will find a different hotel to stay at when in the area again.

LOVED our experience here. We visited the last week in July. Every staff member we encountered from the front desk to housekeeping to the people running the little bar and grill out back were all very friendly and never once seemed bothered or inconvenienced by our questions or requests. We had a 2X queen ocean view room on the 3rd floor and felt it was quite roomie and nice. The hotel is right on the beach. With a nice little wash off station right at the end of the deck. The pool is small but nice. (you're at the beach. You don't need the pool). Clayton bar IS next door so if you're looking for a quiet place this may not be for you. Our family really enjoyed being able to sit on the deck and hear the live music at night while watching/hearing the ocean though. We weren't there during any major events so we didn't feel it was too crazy for a family with kids (if your concerned check Claytons calendar online before making reservations). The fireworks on the weekend are fantastic. The only real issue here is parking. The parking lot just doesnt have enough spots for everybody. However, there is a lot across the street that you can use. We will absolutely stay here again on our next visit.

My wife and I spent a fabulous week in SPI Texas. Our stay was made even better by the hospitality of the the La Quinta staff. I had one concern when we arrived at our room and the management and staff took care of it immediately, with professionalism and smiles. We were also greeted each day with smiles from all of the staff. The free breakfast was a huge plus for us since we did not rent a car for our stay. The amenities were fabulous, and the property was very clean. Thank you La Quinta management and staff for making our first visit to Texas and the island a memorable one. We will be back.

This place was amazing! The friendly staff helped us with our bags, the rooms were very clean and spacious, and the pool and deck area were great! Being so close to the water was great, and the restaurant was delicious, along with the complimentary breakfast.

I have always stayed at La Quinta when I come to South Padre Island. This hotel it right on the beach which is great. They also have a good breakfast in the morning which is important to me.

Nice price on the weekdays… Not so much on the weekends. Great view and right on the beach. Good breakfast but it doesn't vary too much between days. Newer rooms but they could use some repair. I would stay again.

The facade is nice, but nothing more because the hotel is very old, the doors of the rooms dirty and the carpet. I do not taste to anything in the environment and would not come back I think they should remodel the whole not just the entrance. We had to stay on the first floor and was very sloppy. Not again.

We just got here an hour ago and I already want to go home. All I hear is people yelling and running around upstairs. I hate being on the first floor just hoping it won't be this loud later on tonight.

Had another wonderful experience at the La Quinta on SPI! This is the only place my family chooses to stay on the island. The staff is very very friendly and the breakfast simply cannot be beat! The made to order omletts were DELICIOUS! Kudos to all the staff here. We will definitely be back. This place just keeps getting better and better!

Check in was smooth. But — double check your statement. Front desk help was fair… Mgr on duty Sat. Noon was awesome. Breakfast was not bad at all Could use some improvements on door knobs, outlets not working properly. Room was not cleaned first day of stay. Parking lot is a disaster trying to get in/out. Traffic control is much needed! Overall it was a great stay… I would consider coming back to stay.

Right on the beach! Decent rooms and a nice varied free breakfast. Everything is kept clean and they are always improving and renovating. Short drives to a lot of attractions and restaurants. Balconies are very small and the pool is tiny but you should be here for the beach anyway! Highly recommend.

I arrived with my family Saturday evening, I'm currently still at the hotel and I couldn't wait to post a review. I'm absolutely loving it! The room we got is clean, spacious and perfect. Robert at the front desk is very friendly and helpful he accommodated our every need, the bar tender is amazing at making shots and drinks and has a great sense of humor. The little path leading to beach is convenient and my kids love the wash station on the walk back from ocean. The pool area is clean and perfect for families with children as they have a small children's pool aside the larger deeper pool. We are scheduled to leave on Tuesday but are seriously considering staying an extra day cause we're loving and enjoying our stay. Look no further and book you're stay at south padre with La Quinta, I'm not paid to post this review and it's coming from experiencing the awesome time I've had with my family. Alex & Brandy Romero.

Martini bar has best bartender ever. Have stayed several places in padre this was the best great bars great food and right on the beach. And the bartenders were good but Pablo was unlike any other he made the experience that much better!

Location is perfect! Right on the beach, next to the weekend fireworks. Rooms were nice and staff was friendly. Pool was decent, just missing a jacuzzi. Restaurant (Lookout) was great, also convenient having direct access to Clayton's next door. Only gripe would be the parking situation; we came back from lunch and found out all the parking was gone. It appears people that aren't staying at the hotel can park there without consequence, which makes it annoying when you have to circle their lot repeatedly for 30+ minutes.

We can sing nothing but praise about the South Padre La Quinta. Our family spent 7 nights there. Clean, convenient and professional. The staff were all helpful with a cheery attitude. The breakfast got our day started right there. Be sure to wake up for the amazing sunrises on the deck. Food and cocktails were delicious in The Refuge (bar and grill). Thanks you German for being so great with my teens getting so many "shirley temples" during our stay. I adored all the dogs I met during our stay-love the pet-friendliness of the place.

I've stayed multiple times at this location. Great deck the back area to relax and sun bath. Medium sized pool but is heated during cool nights to keep the water warm very nice. Bar in back area as well for guests. Definitely recommend this location.

I had rented 1 night for my daughter's birthday fell in love so I asked for another night, then another night. On my last night my husband & I got into an argument for about 10 minutes, I left the room so there would be no problems but the cops were called & my kids and husband were kicked out in the middle of the night & I was told that I would still get charged for the night. Not right if you ask me!

Every time we go to South Padre I check the hotels and usually end up staying at LaQuinta. It is a very good value. The rooms are large with high ceilings. They have always been acceptably clean. We have received good service there every time. They updated the hotel some time during the 18 months between our last two stays and it looks really good. And they now have an omlette station in their free breakfast. Is it the best hotel on the island? No, not really, but it is the best value I have found for a hotel with direct beach access. I stayed at the Hilton next door last year and it was nicer, but it wasn't $38 a night nicer. I recommend this hotel to family and friends heading to Padre.

Stayed 4 nights with my family. Great staff! Great location! Good breakfast! Clean comfortable rooms! Heated Pool! You really can't get any closer to the beach. I highly recommend that you visit just make sure to save me a room when you go!

When reserved room. I asked for top floor. Was told no problem. Checked in and didnt get top floor. Room way too small. Needs a renovation asap. Not worth a 10th of what I paid.

Room was clean and nice. Amenities were not particularly impressive. Beach access was blocked by construction for part of the day.

Cooked to order omelets, eggs, chorizo, tortillas, beans and there's a beach right outside of the back door with bars and live music. Room air conditioner wouldn't cool down the room though, if it were summer I would be really pissed. December I can just open the patio door.

Nice staff, great access to beach, but a typical tourist trap with jacked up holiday prices. Don't plan for much sleep, as it is located next to a VERY LOUD music venue that plays til 2am. Also, they don't enforce the pool hours, so if you're pool side you'll be up till at least midnight. And the usual party goers being loud in halls and rooms. Finally, not enough curtain to block the light, and thr remote was missing.

Dont expect a "bang for your buck". Worst place ever. Paid extra for a pool/ocean view. We get to the hotel and the parking is packed (employees get to park there though) go up to our room and it's hot and smells like urine, talk about loud ass dog barking right next to our room (since they are pet friendly), we decide to go down to the pool and they do not accept ice chest or your own beverages, they take credit for a "firework show" from another hotel and live music from another hotel also. DO NOT waste your money!

It was the best week and stag auuuuuuuuu.

So that everyone knows, they only give one parking permit per room. The others that was staying with us had to park at claytons bar right beside the hotel and we had $700 worth of snapper and tuna stolen from their cooler. Then this morning we walked through the parking lot and there was a big nice jacked up dodge ram 2500 with big brush guard on it with no parking permit and parked in a no parking zone. Inform fromt desk and they said if they dont have a permit then its our cleaning staff. Well ok explain the no parking zone. If there cleaning staff is making that much money to afford a big new diesel truck, then I need to quit my job as a crane operator and start cleaning rooms. Never staying here again and would not recommend if you like youe belongings.

Exit to the sea, the fees for the week are accessible, is in a sector fairly quiet and the breakfast is enough to endure a day at the beach!

The Hotel is generally in Good condition. The rooms are nice and spacious. Unfortunately, the Service left much to be desired! The beach is dirty, and through many dangerous jellyfish, unfortunately, bathing is totally inappropriate! Please here here no holiday!
