Plus an 18-hole putting green course — and incredibly thoughtful staff! As an incredibly frequent (10+ year) long-term business traveler, I was DELIGHTED to “move” here from the DoubleTree. Slightly inconvenient location, but that has been no problem thanks to the wonderful and extremely courteous shuttle drivers. Looking forward to extending my stay. A rare gem in the RGV!

As mentioned in other reviews for this place, nice to have both lunch and dinner included. HOWEVER, the big turnoff for me at this place was that the air conditioner was not working. It was really hot when I got in the room. There seemed to be 2 thermostats: 1 for the living room and 1 for the bedroom. Upon adjusting the thermostat to cool mode, high fan, and reducing the temp, it took over 5 hours for the living room to get 2 degrees colder. The bedroom continued to be hot. Despite thermostat adjustments. I got frustrated enough in the middle of the night to just sleep on the couch in the living room because of how hot it continued to be in the bedroom. Ffs this isnt a motel 6. Fix air conditioner.

The staff is amazing. The hotel is located near many stores and local businesses and even gave me a discount coupon for 10% off to the places within walking distance (can't guarantee that this will happen for everyone though, of course). Very well maintained facilities. The hotel is kept very cool, which in a place like McAllen means a lot. There's a pool, gym, a bar (with very generous happy hours), complimentary breakfast and dinners, an outside hangout area adjacent to the bar with furniture, and, to top it all off, there's a freaking mini golf course. I know, I was caught off guard by it too. All said, this is an excellent hotel and I'd highly recommend staying here if you have the opportunity.

My room is always clean, I am staying for a prolonged time. The gym is well furnished and always available. The breakfast, and weekday dinner, are welcomed benefits. There are plenty of amenities within walking distance. The staff is warm and welcoming. If they could remember to replace the towels they remove from my room each day, I would give 5 stars.

This was quite a eye opening experience staying here. Definitely gave me the feeling of a resort. The entire layout of this hotel is perfect. From the fresh baked cookies in the lobby to the putt putt course outside. They have a great variety of rooms, that work perfectly for families. Its almost like a hidden gem. A little more on the expensive side but you really do get what you pay for here and more.

Was impressed by front desk girl that checked me in, very friendly and polite. Hotel is spotless. When I arrive to Harlingen airport and was trying to rent a car I found out there was no rental car available. Courtesy Van from Hawthorne Hotel took me back and forth to my work training I had and that made my travel very smooth. Thank you to all staff, Excellent.

Great hotel! Comfy beds and a great amount of space. Everything felt too notch.

Family & I had a lovely evening! Hawthorn really thought of everything! From having pits outside to bbq, to even having kitchen things (pot, pan, forks, spoons, knife, etc) available to us!. Definitely recommend & we will definitely be back!

Beautiful place. Modern fixtures and great kitchenette. Both treadmills were not working Nice breakfast and very friendly staff.

Friendly and attentive staff, great breakfast in the mornings, and dinner is served during the weekdays. The rooms are massive and come with appliances, this is a great place for a long stay. It is also nearby a bunch of restaurants and is on close proximity to the convention center.

Location is good access to the freeway. Hard to see where to turn in because it is behind an empty restaurant building. Rooms are very nice. 5th floor rooms are noisy at night. You can hear every creak and noise from the roof and water pipes, but not too bad. Bedroom lamps don't work. Water pressure could be much better in the shower. Just had to take longer shower than usual to rinse off. Employees are nice, friendly and helpful. Great place to stay and will definitely come back here when I'm in town.

Booked 2 nights to visit family and we loved it. The staff are very nice, cheerful, and help you get your keys fast. The rooms are amazing, modern, and very spacious. We didn’t get to play mini golf or go to the bar but the complimentary breakfast is really good. Would definitely recommend for the good price and great location.

The place is great, staff is very pleasant! The workout room had 2 machines out of order and the equipment that does work is not even complete.

Hotel is beautiful but pool is crowded with people making bday party's so we only were in their @30 min. (We got this hotel only for the pool) so it sucks… Been to many hotels and never had this happen.

Great clean place, excellent staff. Free complimentary breakfast and drinks in the evening. The shortage of towels in the room was a minor issue easily resolved. As a new location would expect some USB connections on some appliances like other similar chains of hotels. Coffee is great but weak, have to double the packages to make it stronger. Shortage of condiments to sweeten and stir. The pool and miniature golf course makes it up along with the friendly staff. Great food around that give a discount when you show the hotel room key.

This Hotel is awesome in every way possible! The staff there are so helpful and friendly Adriana was our host she was great. Breakfast was great, the location was great, the room was so modern, the beds we're everything you expect a 5 Star hotel should feel like and most importantly the price for all this greatest was unbelievable! Totally recommend for anyone. Oh I forgot the mini golf and pool with Bbq's

Really awesome, modern hotel! And I mean modern! Gleaming floors and walls, state of the art technology for energy saving in the rooms, beautiful glass sculptures everywhere, elegant! The free breakfast and dinner were tasty (the dinners definitely more so than the breakfasts, powdered eggs ewww), the happy hour phenomenal! Cecelia makes the best margaritas I've ever had. The rooms are cavernous and comfy, the fitness room huge by most hotel standards, the pool sparkling and clean, the staff very friendly. The only issue I had was my room wasn't cleaned one day, and the front office girl said I must have had the sign out saying "do not disturb" when I know for a fact that was not the case, but really the only hiccup I experienced. Oh, and I forgot to mention FREE WASHERS AND DRYERS! So great! I will definitely stay here every time I travel to McAllen!

The stay was excellent. The staff was great. I would stay again if I return. The room is very spacious and comfortable.

This home away from home was the absolute best! I love the setup and the rooms are so spacious. I was able to cook a full dinner for my family. I love the decor as well not to mention the breakfast was all so fresh and delicious. Plenty to choose from.

My coworker and I just finished a rousing game of the minature golf course at the hotel and we are now going to walk to one of many restaurants in the near vincity. The rooms are only about a year old and very clean. The staff is personable and friendly. We agreed that we will stay here again the next time we are in McAllen.

This is a lovely hotel. It is very nice and clean. Everything looks new. The amenities are great with a mini golf course and a nice pool and great weight room. My only complaint is that their Wi-Fi speeds are very slow and it is not reliable.

The hotel is really clean when you walk in the reception area is very beautiful. The room was really clean and well maintained. The staff was really friendly and very helpful when needed.

This hotel is fantastic! It has an outdoor pool, with a kiddie area and a hot tub. They have several outdoor BBQ grills and a simple, on-site, miniature golf course. It's great for the kids, but I'm guessing adults won't really spend too much time with it. There is a nice continental breakfast, and a bar off the lobby. On-site laundry facilities and a gym. They have free cookies daily in the lobby, as well as a small store for essentials. The rooms are well furnished with a small kitchen and dining table, couch, desk, etc. The only complaint in our room was the roomy standing shower, as my wife enjoys soaking in a bath tub. It was nice to see the toilet shower separate from the sink and closet area, with a locked door between the two and an awesome barn door to close off the closet/sink area from the bedroom. Best of all, the hotel is in a great location, with ample free parking, close to several restaurants and the building itself lights up at night so it's easily visible from nearby streets. I loved staying there and would definitely recommend this location and hotel to anyone staying in the McAllen, TX area.

Top of the line with low prices. Miniature golf, pool, grills, lounge inside & out, great staff. Close to Walmart, and every food place is near. We loved it, 100% recommend you stay.

Hotel was fairly new. Had a good breakfast selection. I stayed in the junior suite and it was an amazing room. It was very spacious and well designed. The hotel is conveniently located close to many good restaurants and a theater. The price is not to high and I will definitely stay there again.

We recently stayed at this Hotel and were truly happy with everything. The General Manager was very helpful to us and went out of his way to make sure we were pleased with our stay. The pool are was very upscale and relaxing. Highly recommend this hotel!

I recommend it for sure. I have been staying in different hotels in Mcallen, but this time we chose right. Even we are here on a business trip, but after work we could relax in the swimming pool, or play mini golf … I like it. Still here and will feel bad when we leave.
