They have friendly staff and ready to assist. You. The rooms were cleaned and sanitized. The only thing was the pool was too full and not keeping distance. It was a pleasant experience. The breakfast was excellent and so was the service. I love their warm chocolate chip cookies.

We have been coming to this hotel for over 20 years when it was Embassy Suites. We love the service given by the hotel staff the are Amazing. Kids really enjoy coming here and using the indoor pools.

I've only been here 3 hours and I am very impressed and happy. Mandatory face masks, social distancing, and a very friendly and compassionate staff in unusual circumstances. It's an older hotel with a fresh paint job but, has obviously got a lot of love to it. On checking in, I noticed the air conditioning was struggling because the filter hadn't been changed when due. A quick phone call and they jumped on it. I do wish more modern hotels had this appeal and care.

I attended a networking event that was hosted by DoubleTree in their bar. It was a lovely event and the entertainment was great!

Rooms are very upgraded and the price is amazing. Not to mention the indoor pool!

This hotel by far the most comfortable, cleanest and friendliest in the RGV. We love coming here to relax and enjoy the hot tub, indoor swimming pool, bar and restaurant. Plus the suites here are very spacious and clean for the whole family. We highly recommend this location.

The Mexican lunch buffet was great but, when I ordered an iced tea, the iced tea came with a sliced valley lemon instead of “regular yellow lemon slices”. An iced tea should always come with a yellow lemon slice not a valley lemon slice.

The service is exceptional! Just as good as any 5 star hotel. Everyone was nice and helpful. The room was clean, the front desk was attentive, the restaurant was fast, and helpful. They did everything right.

We really enjoyed our stay at Doubletree. Hotel staff was pleasant and location seemed central to the city. Amenities/decor were nice and worthy of its 3 star hotel rating. I'm knocking off one star due to the slow elevators and since our room was next to a housekeeping storage room and we heard a lot of racket at times. Breakfast was good too.

Found ants and roaches! I’m not sure if it was the weather but either way there should never be excuses! We stayed 2 nights at roughly $140 per night and it was a nightmare. The first room we checked into there was a ton of ants in the restroom so I asked to be moved to a different room. The second room also had ants! But I was so tired from a long road trip that I just brushed it off and stayed. I went to the restroom in the middle of the night and found like 3 or 4 roaches running all over the bathroom floor! I spoke to the manager and they refunded my money for one night but he was being so rude about it! Blaming it on the weather saying it’s the humidity and whatnot! Should’ve just stayed somewhere cheaper.

Great hotel and amenities. Free full breakfast in the morning with table service. Restaurant and bar on site and they are popular on the weekend. It's a good place for families but there is a bar right in the lobby that gets busy on Fridays and Saturdays.

I stayed at the McAllen DoubleTree for a few nights visiting for business purposes. The property is dated, but tastefully refreshed and well maintained. The rooms are large and some have balconies. The bed was pretty decent, but not the best I've slept on. Breakfast was good with standard options as well as Mexican fare. One of the elevators stopped working while I was there — hopefully it is fixed soon. Overall I'm satisfied with my stay. I may try a different property when I'm next in the area, but only because there are so many options.

The hotel has been recently refurbished. The rooms were comfortable. The atrium is light and spacious. The food decent. The staff had been great, especially Ruben running the breakfast; fast, responsive, friendly.

Just went in for cocktails. The lobby is nice, service okay. Nice amenity for a hotel. I would stay here.

Great location just 3 minutes off the airport. Close to several chain restaurants and one fabulous local mexican. Just 3 minutes from the mall as well. Rooms are recently updated, but won't knock you back for quality. Bar and dinner are good, with open atrium interior. Great choice for the casual stay or like myself, repeat business travel.

Went to a luncheon there. The food was very good and so was the service. The fact that the is a Starbucks in the lobby is very convenient too.

This place is top notch. Clean, helpful employees, amenities are the best in the area. My husband and my 2 young children come here to visit family often and have tried many different hotels, we won’t be trying any more. We’ll be staying here from now on.

One of the nicer hotels in Mcallen. Nice pool and great service. Well put together rooms. And very clean.

Used to be Embassy Suites. Now it's a shadow of it's former self. Same family of hotels but definitely different aspect. My room had some kids slime in a drawer, the door that separates the living room & bedroom got stuck. Bathrooms are elegant though. Overall, a good stay. The pool area didn't have towels available. That's why I gave it 3 stars.

Amazing Hotel! Previously embassy suites and now fully renovated into a doubletree. Got warm cookies and water on arrival… digital key was def a plus and so convenient. Rooms are very spacious and amenities are great and in abundance. Downstairs have a Starbucks and live music in the evenings and a great lively atmosphere. I am truly enjoying my time here and would def return for both business & pleasure. Highly recommend this place for business travelers in particular.

Great hotel. Large spacious rooms which were very clean. Front desk staff very friendly. Shuttle available to and from airport. Large buffet style breakfast which was decent. Bar area was very nice and bar staff was wonderful.

It was cheap the night, however the breakfast is very expensive.

I attended a work Christmas party here. The staff was very courteous and attentive. They even brought us coffee for desert. The hotel was nice, clean, and quiet. The restrooms were very clean. Parking garage makes parking much easier as well.

Location was great right by the highway, very convenient, easy to find as well. The rooms and hotel was very clean and nice. Room was big and nice, restrooms where super clean and nice. Ate at the restaurant and everything was good, food and service was great. Prices for the restaurant were reasonable. The only thing I would change would be the toliet paper placement, it was kind of hard to find, and had too overreach to get it. But great hotel overall.

We have stayed at this hotel a couple of times. The rooms are always clean and ready on time. Staff is friendly. Only problem is when there is something going on in the hotel restaurant or bar, it can be a little loud in the living area of the suite. The suite style really works with our family. We found out they had to bedroom suites at a great price, which is perfect for us. I would recommend this hotel to family and friends.

Very nice open layout. Breakfast was good. Rooms were clean need to nice. Complimentary Waters from the front desk and cookies. Very friendly staff and quick to resolve any problems that may come up. Only downside is we needed to wash some clothes and there's not a washer and dryer on premises so we had to go to a nearby laundromat. Overall I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting in the area.

For our event the location was super convenient, room was really nice. Had some problems checking in, our reservation got lost, once we found our confirmation number they got it sorted out.

Just pure awesomeness from beginning to end. Would've loved to stay more than one night. Breakfast was great! Had my eggs done to my liking which are over easy eggs! Coffee was good. Went to happy hour, had a nice Margarita and buffalo wings. Our server, Leo was awesome! He was very attentive and never forgot to check on us. Cookies were delicious. Will definitely stay in this hotel again and recommend it.

This is an amazing place to stay. We are victims of Hurricane Harvey and we had no place to go after our house was damaged. They opened theirs doors for us. My family and I are very greatful.

Hotel seems as though it has been remodeled recently. The interior looks great. The restaurant has good food and the rooms are spacious and comfortable.

Excellence Service with a little outdated room. I stayed for 10 days and the service was excellence. The hotel does not provide (maybe it is common for all US hotel) slipper and I had requested at the front desk. The front desk manager (if I remember correctly is Daniel) help me request the house keeping department and the same night, I was provided with a pair of slipper from supermarket. I really appreciate his excellence service. The suites is huge and clean but a little outdated. An egg station will be able to get another star from me but the breakfast was great.

The bed was comfortable which we usually have a hard time finding when sleeping at any of the hotels when we travel to the valley. We had the king delux room, nice to have the living room and kitchen area separate from the bedroom area. The restroom was a tight fit between the door, toilet, and sink. We were not able to tell by our reservation whether or not breakfast came with the package and the check in didn't mention it. Got the cookie coming in but wasnt offered one during check out, not sure if we were suppose to get one like the other posts state. It was quite and clean during our trip. We would go again :)

Worst experience ever! Somehow they managed to ruin my wedding night. I had gone in a week in advance to book a room and got the package that included everything from rose petals on the bed to chocolate covered strawberries with champagne. When we checked in the of the front desk said everything was set. When we walked into the room there was absolutely NOTHING! The let down was so sad that we thought it was pointless to tell them that there was nothing. We had build up our expectations and to go argue with the front desk seemed pointless at that moment. The next day we went to check out and told them what had happened and all they did was say that they had given us a wrong room and that they were sorry.

Double Tree hotels are a great option in a sea of hotels. This location is in a great neighborhood, close to a mall, plenty of restaurants, and two medical centers. The rooms are huge, safe and amenties include televisions in each the living room and bedroom areas, microwave, sink, laptop docking station and tons of storage. The staff is great. There is a full restaurant and bar with free happy hour every evening.

This was our 1st staycation. We had visited this place 4 times when it was Embassy suites, so we were hoping for a great experience. The pool and the receptionist who greeted us and helped me push my cart all the way to my room were the only highlights of our stay. We booked by phone, no one asked about breakfast, and when we checked in no one confirmed our reservation or breakfast, so we assumed (as it was with Embassy suites) breakfast was included with booking, so we ate there and after we finished, they asked us for our breakfast vouchers. I went to the front desk to ask for them and I was told I didn't pay for it. So they charged us $33 for breakfast! 2 adults $13.00 each & a child $7! I was upset! My 5 year old ate a small bowl of cereal! So they comped me 1 adult n we paid $20 for a basic breakfast no frills. Then there were ants in our room. In 3 walls. The maintenance staff was vert nice. They sprayed bug spray and thats it… the roof was leaking on the 9th floor, on the 1st floor, and in the pool ceiling too! The room was humid and it was either too hot at 77 degrees or too cold at 76 degrees. Never going back! Not worth the money.

The newly renovated hotel looks great. Drinks were reasonably priced and the service was great. It was also a good place to people watch. Will be going back for happy hour next time I'm in town.

The only negative that comes to mind are the slow elevators. Besides that, the rooms are spacious, the lobby area is very fun and unique, and the hotel is pleasant overall. There is a relaxing atmosphere that is really appreciated after a long days work.

Very nice atmosphere, the staff was very nice but the Wi-Fi kept turning on and off. Couldn't access much needed imfo. Breakfast buffet is awesome.

We were working in the area and stopped in for the lunch buffet. The hotel is very exquisite. The food was very good. Lettuce appeared a little wilted, but we did arrive toward the end of the buffet time. Service was very good.

I was charge a extra 40.00 for room service I did not order when I called the front desk I spoke with a very rude man by th name of Mike was extremely unhelpful and once I asked for the executive office number he told me to Google it this has been the worst experience I've ever had at an hotel HORRIBLE and not only was I charged extremely there were ants everywhere in the room and once I called room service I was given raid to spray I will never use this hotel again.

Loud music played in the middle of lobby on a Tuesday night. But managed to get a solid night sleep. Double room suites are the best.

The hotel is in a good location, the moment you enter, the hotel looks very nice, elegant and comfortable. The only thing that I found out of place was the space of the baths, although you can see broad still inside, to be able to enter and exit, you have to squish so the door does not collide with you. However, the atmosphere of the hotel is very good and I enjoyed my stay.

Basically don't change anything from the administration above, the maintenance continues to have areas of opportunity, compared to what other hotels in the area; the attractiveness of it was that the breakfast bar was included and now they charge more than at a buffet of any restaurant nearby… therefore, it is a mediocre hotel without any added value, there are better hotels with a maintenance of the first and with the breakfast included in the area (with a fee similar or less). Do not come back to this hotel.

I never complain about hotels or restaurants, but I was really disappointed with this hotel and it wasn't worth what I paid. I will not stay at this hotel again. In our first room, the bathroom was dirty and disgusting. The TV didn't work in the master bedroom. Then they changed us to another room and the AC made a really annoying noise. The next day we ordered fresh towels and after waiting an hour and making 3 calls to remind the front desk we received our fresh towels.

We've stayed at the Embassy Suites in McAllen twice as we make our annual trip to the valley. Both times were very satisfactory. The rooms were always quiet, clean and comfortable. I've stayed in nicer Hilton properties but this Embassy Suites seems to be the best Embassy Suites in the Valley. It's located near the airport and you are 30 minutes away to Harlingen and Brownsville. They can be a litle pricey and this hotel tends to book fast during the holiday season. Nuevo Progresso is very close by.

I've been travelling to McAllen since the late 1990's, and as much as possible I stay at the Embassy Suites. I've never had a bad experience with anything: meals, manager's reception, the room, anything. The staff are polite and courteous every time I visit.

Probably the worse stay I have had to date. I am seriously thinking about no longer leveraging my HH account and switching. Summary below: 1) Room was not clean. 2) There were kids running everywhere. We went down to use the hot tub to relax after 16 hours of traveling and were squirted in the face by kids not being supervised. There were literally over 60 people in this little pool area. 3) Staff was under-dressed and un-professional. 4) We need an extra set of blankets. The front desk associate stated that he had already handed out his extra blankets, did not have a key to get more, and was the only person working. I would not reccomend staying here ever.

I always pick the best of the best. When visiting my home state of Tx I always pick The Embassy. Love the service, the employees, indoor pool and the Bar ;) an A+.

They have updated the rooms with flat screens and HD! Really like the inner door to the bedroom to block out ALL noise from the atrium area. Hotel folks very attentive at breakfast. Slight issue with sugar ants; but, you're in the south. Deal with it.

We have 4 children, and this suite accommodates our family! That's enough for a 5 star review from me because not many hotels have rooms this size. Yes, we might have gotten two rooms for a bit less at another place, but having us all together is worth the price. I love the courtyard inside this place, too.
