Absolutely the rudest front desk clerk of all time. As I was here for my mother’s funeral service, it could have been a seamless and pleasant experience. Unfortunately, Desiree went the extra mile to make it miserable. Yelling at me across the counter, giggling with her housekeeping friend, and waiting an extra hour in the parking lot after her shift to sarcastically wave and yell “BYEBYE! ” as I walked to my car in my funeral suit. Imagine what kind of horrible human being waits to make someone’s mothers funeral day extra difficult. I’m appalled that IHG endorses this trash heap under their ownership. The homeless guy sleeping at the bank behind this dump receives better customer service. The room was actually very clean, and smelled great despite the constant traffic noise 30 yards from your window. A constant stream of contractors and roofers move in and out, taking over the gym shirtless, and flirting with the night staff. If you’re looking for a Motel 6 environment and are willing to foot the extra cash, you can stay at this dumpster fire, and be berated by the overweight, miserable “Guest Services Representive” Desiree. Truly a troll among human beings.

Beds are comfortable, suites are roomy, and the hotel is hospitable. I give a special thanks to the front desk clerk who let me stay a bit late to finish doing my laundry.

The way my husband and I was treated on May 29th at your hotel. I am complaining because on 2 separate occasions your employees (Ceaser & Melanie) extended my stay because during check-in Ceaser supposed to extended both room and only extended 1 so the next morning Melanie had to extend the other one. Later that day when trying to go in our rooms the key to 312 did not work. My husband (who suffers from chronic back pain) went down stairs to get an updated key, at that time Rae informed him that he was lying about being in room 312 and refused to give him the key. At that point he calls me (crying because he was in pain and needed to lay down) telling me she will not give him a key. I came down stairs and Rae was not having it. She told me that we were not in room 312 and will not give us the key. SHE MADE ME BEG & PLEAD, promising her we are not lying about the room we are in. She said on our paperwork said 313, I kept begging her and telling her that our belongings were in 312 and that's the room we have been staying in. Before giving me the key, she stated "Okay, I'm going to trust you are telling the truth and will give you a new key". I have never felt so humiliated in my life. I am the owner of several businesses and work very hard for everything I have, for Rae to degrade my husband and I is WRONG, I have NEVER had to beg for anything in my life! Sadly, after 15 years of staying with Candlewood THIS was our last stay.

Nice rooms, they are the extended stay type, stove and utensils etc.

The only bad thing with this suite there is no breakfast.

Well computer was down gas to reserve by phone very inconvenient.

A good place to stay. They have kitchens in the rooms, so they don't provide breakfast.

Very expensive! 1 room with 2 bed's $169.00 Down the street next to Luby's same 1 room with 2 queen bed's $120.00

Horrific. Dirty. Halls dark. Guest doors dirty. No maintenance or upkeep. Horrible horrible horrible. They should not be an IHG hotel.

Go at your own risk construction over your head filthy dirty room disrespectful staff. Never again.

This was the worst stay I had in Corpus Christi. Rude front desk people smoking at the front door construction in the hall loud and dirty. I talked to tge girl at the front desk had no problem telling me to go ahead and blast them on social so here you go Brittnay done.

With all the construction going on it was a bit noisy, AC wasn’t able to cool room as much as we would have liked.

Very friendly staff very helpfull and very hard workers all rooms are pet frindly but at the same time they dont smell weird so I gotta give them credit.

Closes to airports 10 minutes clean rooms nice staff.

This suites have great reviews online thats why we booked, ALL LIES. We booked online when we get there they didn’t have the rooms we paid for, rooms are not clean the sofa looks old and supposedly they were new sofa beds, very uncomfortable. No A/C in one of the rooms. Never Again!

Not a bad hotel. I'd say the area around wasn't the best but the hotel was very clean. Extremely pet-friendly.

Love it here, great staff, very helpful! Nice, clean room, too. The pool was a little neglected, but overall a nice place to call home for a week.

I have been a loyal ihg customer for years now partly due to my career. I only chose this place due to the fact that it was the only hotel who has the availability I needed for my family and I. Here are the reasons for my low rating on the check in day we entered our room and was disgusted the floor in the closet had what looked like cookies crumbled up in a corner, the refrigerator was nasty on top, the tub had mold around it and the pots had mold in them. My husband went and complained and we received half off on our night plus some cleaning supplies. That next morning bring my son took a shower and it sounded like a fire alarm going off! It eventually stopped but boy did it startle us. After he was done I went to shower next and noticed the water was coming out in a mist. I proceeded to change it to spray regularly and it began to spray out the back of the showered head and everywhere else. Notified the front desk and was moved to another room. Not as disgusting as the first but still had the weird smell. Unfortunately we just could deal with the state of the hotel so we mad reservations somewhere else outside of ihg. On our check out day I slipped and fell outside the front door because it was rainy and wet, my husband notified the staff and an incident report was taken. Hopefully I will hear from the manager and n Monday. And I hope the truly fix the hotel!

Room has a funky smell, and the floor in kitchen and bathroom is sticky. We told front desk about floor on our way out at 330pm, and she said she would do it soon before she left for the day. We came back at 9pm, and the floors are still sticky. Update, we were in town for two nights, and our floors never got cleaned. The next day, my wife needed to dry her hair after a shower, but the hair dryer didn't work. It smelled like burned metal and had something rattling around inside of it. I went to the front desk, the same person from the day before said someone would bring a new one right up… never happened. We were in town for a funeral, so had tight timelines. We stayed here for about a month 41/2 years ago and hate the fact I have to give this poor review, but times change and so do businesses.

When my wife and I arrived for a single night stay, we didn't at all except to see a hotel that was being maintained with half-hearted care as well as such cheap and falling-apart furnishings and building condition. We thought that this was supposed to be part of the Candlewood Suites chain of hotels which usually maintains higher standards (along with the IHG group of hotel brands which normally demonstrates so much more care for their property and the many guests that expect those higher standards). However, we were definitely disappointed by our visit! : (Why don't they care enough about quality and cleanliness? This is more of an "efficiency extended-stay" location RATHER THAN a good, quality hotel… PLUS: There is such a seriously NASTY smell around the hotel which seems to be a combination of MILDEW and CIGARETTE SMOKE! : (

I'm going to make this clear; I am a happily satisfied IHG, Spire member. I love staying with the IHG hotels, as my preferences are usually honored, whether I am staying for business or with my family on vacation. If I could give this hotel a negative star rating I would. Before making this negative review, not only did I send an email to whom I believe was the DM in search of a resolution, I conveyed my dissatisfaction to the receptionist at the front desk, where the resolution I received from her was absolutely beyond astonishment. Upon arrival and having to park in a fire zone, as there was no where to park, literally, we checked in after driving over 6 hours; tired, just wanting to relax, clean up, and go to sleep, we got to our room and realized that was not going to happen. I reserved a suite with a king bed, and my preferences were dually noted on the website and app, and at all other previous, IHG hotels I've stayed, not only were preferences not acknowledged, or taken into consideration, they were completely ignored. The receptionist, took it upon herself to "upgrade" my room. Upgrade to me, means to give me a better room than I originally booked? Needless to say, we walked to our room next to the pool, bottom floor by a backdoor, by the elevator, next door to a barking dog, and a high traffic area.

The hotel is centrally located the staff are polite breakfast was delicious.

I'm staying here with three people and they put us in a room with one bed they couldn't even give us a room with a sofa bed, the "Cupboard store is barely full with stuff and what little it does have its pretty expensive like for example: $3.00 for a Cup Noodle soup and $1.50 for one of those tiny cereal boxes but I will say Front Desk are very kind. The TV channels are on my only complaint about that subject is that there is no TruTV which kind of sucks but oh well.

Worst Candlewood Suites ever. My room is filled with mold. Pretty sure there is some sort of bugs in the room. The hotel smells like a fart in general due to some sort of water related incident (not the Hurricane). I stay at IHG hotels 3-4 months a year for work and this is by far the worst one I've stayed at.

I love candlewood, great chain with a great purpose. They may not have breakfast, but the full kitchen more than makes up for it.

This hotel has kitchenets. Clean and friendly staff. Need some updates. Overall is good place for long staying.

Preface: it was after Harvey hit so things were getting back to normal. I reserved my room by phone and had to call back to get an email confirmation (that I still never received). I was on the 3rd floor and it reeked of smoke (who has smoking rooms anymore… fire hazard much? ) My sheets were dirty/stained. The parking lot was too small. Room was cheap but that's about the only good thing.

I've been staying here for only a fee days but I highly recommend candlewood suites. The location is good and the staff and rooms are much better than some others in the area. I will be going back when in the area!

A wonderful experience. I had a planned stay to visit my father that turned into a medical emergency for him. They graciously extended the mid-week rate over to the weekend. They were full and really didn't have to do that. I truly appreciated the gesture!

We have stayed at this hotel at least 4x. We enjoyed it every time. The staff is friendly and helpful, the rooms and clean and the environment is comfortable. My favorite of all — the washer and dryers are on site. The housekeeping staff are also very accomadating. We will be staying again in the summertime.

I've stayed here many times now as I travel all over South TX, particularly the coastal bend as of late. Fun, personable, and accommodating staff along with clean rooms and pragmatic amenities. Best part: my stay comes complete with a Golds Gym pass, with my room card, which is less than 15 minutes from the hotel! Love this place! :D.

Rooms are only serviced once a week. Can't accommodate night shift workers with cleaning crew. Would not recommend nor return if given the chance.

It was a nice hotel room spacious and veey comfortable, my only con is that I brought my dog and he is a barker, I left my room and immediatly got a call saying there was a complaint, saying it's been a problem for days, when we had been there for like 14 hours at this point, then the manager said that they had entered the room without our permission to give my dog, who is scared of strangers, a treat. Which made the barking worse, and she then told us he was barking non stop and when we entered our room our dog was sleeping. So my advice is make sure that your dog doesn't bark while staying here. On the plus the manag er did apologize for the unwanted intrusion.

Staying a few months and so far it's been great. Full fridge and kitchen is everything I need. The staff and management are awesome. Glad I found this place.

Clean basic hotel. The Staybridge suites and Marriott just down the road are both the same price range and MUCH MUCH NICER. Hotel staff here was top notch. Very friendly and helpful. Room wasn't bad by any means it just wasn't top notch. I disliked the once a week housekeeping and the swap out your own towels policy. My room was comfortable but smelled bad and the bathroom was dirty when I got into the room. Nothing a little clorox wouldn't fix but I prefer not to. The room was decent size and the bed was comfortable. The room had a little kitchen that comes in handy and I liked the full size fridge. Parking was tight but the hotel seems like it's VERY POPULAR with contractors working in the area so it's understandable that parking would be limited. Safe warm place to spend the night but I won't be staying here again.

I'm not the type of guy that leaves reviews. I am this time bc I was very impressed with the room here. I have not seen such a great room for the price. And speaking from experience I've stayed in a lot of motels. I will stay her next time I'm in town.

I'm sorry to report that this is one of the worse Candlewood Suites I have experienced! My first night I called the front desk to report my a/c was not working properly and there was no TV remote. The front desk clerk was most attentive and offered to move me to another room. Since it was 10:30pm I suggested to wait and move the next morning. I was moved to another room that the a/c was not working, so I was moved to a 3rd room. I asked to speak to the manager and was told she was out and would make an adjustment to my bill. I stayed there 4 nights and was never able to speak with Ashley Moore. I left my name & number and emailed her twice, with no response. And received no "adjustment to my bill. " This is bad management and unprofessionalism to at least not acknowledge phone messages or emails. Since I have stayed at Candlewood Suites over Texas, I know the quality they should be. Needless to say, as often as we visit Corpus, we do not plan to return your facility.

Pretty nice actually. Front desk staff really friendly. Room layout was cool. The small "convenience store" is pretty cool and washers and dryers free to use could be a lifesaver. The view of a large ghetto parking lot and the neighbors with kids and friends coming and going all night with their door propped open was annoying, but probably just a "cultural" thing.

Hi my Name is Sam and I wanted to say that this place is wonderful. I love the staff the friendly atmosphere and I love the rooms. My day started off horrible after a 10 hour trip all I wanted to do was shower and relax. I walked into this hotel not expecting anything out of the ordinary as far as customer service goes and I was very surprised. The young lady that assisted me was super friendly and all smiles. I was in a hurry to get to my room until I was talking to her. She managed to get me comfortable enough to forget about my long trip and treated me like I was the only guest in the hotel. She was very helpful with directions. I dealt with this young lady several times during my stay and not once did I see anything other than a smile on her face. Thank you Miss Vivian for all that you do and all that you did to make me and my family feel at home. I will return to this hotel again and personally thank this young lady for making our trip that much better.

The staff is super friendly and helpful. Washers, dryers, full size fridge, and dishwasher (love). Very accommodating with my dogs.
