So thoroughly enjoyed our stay …. Visited Jefferson for the Candlelight Tours. The Steamboat Inn helped make the trip so enjoyable. Rooms are so homey and comfortable … Little touches of Christmas throughout the home. Complimentary coffee, tea, wine, hot chocolate and wonderful homemade chocolate chip cookies. We were welcomed back to the home after our tour, by David and a cozy fire in the fire pit. Breakfast this morning was delicious and we loved visiting with Alex, Lana & David as well as the friendly folks who were also staying there. Completely enjoyable time and would recommend to anyone!

I have stayed at the Steamboat Inn two different times, and all I can say is, this place, and the hosts are AMAZING! The inn is so tastefully decorated, and has such a warm and homey feeling, that you feel welcome from the moment you enter the front door. Alex, Lana, and David go above and beyond with their hospitality, making sure that each and every guest have what they need to make their stay the greatest, and that their guests day starts off with the most awesome breakfasts that are prepared fresh every morning. We have already booked a stay in April and December of next year. If you are looking to visit the Jefferson area, I suggest that you stay at the Steamboat Inn, as you will not be disappointed. One of the best finds in East Texas. Alex and Lana are amazing hosts and the inn is beautiful, unique, and so relaxing. Perfect location. Breakfast was out of this world delicious! The hospitality was wonderful and look forward to returning.

We stayed at the Steamboat Inn a few weeks ago and it is a beautiful home. The rooms are spacious and decorated beautifully. The owners are welcoming and very friendly. We definitely recommend the Inn and will be staying there again. Thanks so much for your warm hospitality!

This place was so amazing! Complimentary water, tea, coffee, wine, cookies and they even went and bought us a sprite when we said we wanted one. They built us an outdoor fire in the fire pit! It was so awesome!

We stayed there in Memorial weekend and loved it. What a great little town with a “Mayberry” feel! Great antiques stores, coffee shops and restaurants and all within walking distance. It’s a hidden jewel! And the history of the town is fascinating!

We had a wonderful weekend at Steamboat Inn. Our room was beautifully decorated. The inn keeper, David, was always making sure we had everything we needed from coffee, tea, hot chocolate, cookies and wine in the lobby. Breakfast was tasty served in a beautiful dinning room. Location was a short walk to Jefferson City Square where we could shop and eat lunch and dinner. We will definitely go again.

I have stayed in several Bed & Breakfast in the past and I have my favorites in Jefferson, but wanted to try a new place. I was very disappointed after booking an entire weekend several months in advance. The food was mediocre at best. One morning we were served half-cooked hash browns. There is no television in the rooms and a sign asking you for "quiet time" after 10pm. The ceiling fan in the room couldn't be used because it was hitting the top of the bed so it was so quiet I couldn't sleep. The claw foot tub didn't have a stopper to hold the water and the man serving food was scarcely found. The lady I spoke with when booking never even made an appearance. Highly disappointed in this place. Maybe the huge "for sale" sign out front can explain why the service, food and room quality was so bad. I didn't even stay my last night.

This is a charming and relaxing B&B. Look forward to going back.

Very nice people run this place, and the beds were pretty comfortable and unique. The walls were a little thin, but it wasn't too noisy overall. No ghosts for us this visit would stay here again. Walking distance to most of the shops and food, as well as the ghost tours.

The Steamboat Inn, nestled near the heart of downtown Jefferson near Big Cypress Bayou, fully encompassed Jefferson's rich riverport town heritage & history. During our stay, we got lost in reading about the local legends some of whose names are painted above each room. The night we stayed was the 140th death anniversary of Diamond Bessie whose room was vacant. It made for a mysterious night for sure! The innkeeper told us the town does a reenactment of her murder trial every year during Jefferson's Pilgrimage… would love to see… The town's heritage is evident throughout the inn from the beds, to the clawfoot tubs, the art, photographs, books & decor. I felt like I'd taken a trip back into the 19th century, yet with modern conveniences. There were chairs out front surrounding a firepit that David got started for us. Between family time, we walked to the fudge shop, general store, Blackburn's jelly store for some jelly & cajun quail eggs… Auntie Skinner's down the street served dinner, drinks, and had great live music. We declined breakfast since we were tired from the events of the weekend, however after reading the excellent feedback in the guest book, I wish we would have enjoyed breakfast too! David had to-go food and coffee ready for us anyway. He was a super host. Staying at The Steamboat Inn was like stepping back in time, and I loved every bit of it!

My wife, sister, and I stayed on the 20th and 21st. We had a lot of fun, David the InnKeeper was a lot of fun and eager to make our stay enjoyable. He even helped us get a fire going in the fire pit. Every thing in downtown was walking distance. The rooms names kept us up learning about Jefferson’s history. Overall the Steamboat Inn helped relax our trip.

We had a wonderful time! David cooked us a delicious breakfast and provided us with information that we needed in order to have a great time. The owner was extremely gracious and took care of all of our needs. This was an extremely beautiful, antique, home in a great location. Lots of great shopping!

Very nice people delicious breakfast they welcomed our dogs and we enjoyed ourselves there was even a yard for the dogs to run out in lots of shopping and a visit to Caddo Lake topped it off thank you so much we will be back.

We had a fantastic anniversary and 4th of July at the Steamboat Inn again. They have redecorated and it is absolutely beautiful. This is the third stay and third different room. Outstanding each and every time and the breakfast was delicious each day. We went to Pittsburgh Texas for our first look at the new brewery that Kristin and Byron have opened. We can hardly wait until it is completed. Awesome get away. Mike Garrison.

The owners were out of town so there was a bed but no breakfast other than processed muffins and coffee/water. We still had to pay full price without the full service. We booked 2 rooms; 4 people and it was a girls weekend with my step grandmother, stepmom & step sister. I have been in the hospitality industry most of my career and I was shocked and disappointed that the owner didn't call, apologize and do something to make it right. The guy that was there as our host was very friendly and did his best to make the stay more enjoyable.
I read a lot of the reviews for this place while I was there because they have a book in the room where you can make comments. Most of them were good but they had the luxury of having the owners involved in how their stay went. We added our comments to the book and I personally didn't hear a thing.
Jefferson is an amazing town but I would probably choose a different bed & breakfast if I went again.

I did lots of planning ahead of time last year, prior to the Burn Benefit. I stayed in October 2015. Aunt Annie's staff recommended the Steamboat Inn. I called Kristin and she was very pleasant and helpful. This was my first big bike trip/benefit. I got the perfect room, to park my bike near and it was beautiful with nice side porch. My entire stay was awesome. I thoroughly enjoy the privacy, peace and quiet, and atmosphere. It is beautifully decorated and breakfast was delicious. I have reservations again this year, which I made last year before I ever left. The location of the room to where I can park my bike was very important for me. I love this place and hope to stay there each year or more, when I visit Jefferson! Thanks Kristin!

Very neat. A lot of history and the owners were very pleasant.

Very disappointed in this b&b. No breakfast service, no service at all. Rooms were not cleaned at all while we were there. Had to ask for clean towels. Owners were out of town and left someone in charge of taking care of guest. Kitchen was dirty the whole time we were there. Trash was taken out of kitchen once while we were there for 3 days. Yard very unkept. Whole place looked unkept.

This was our first ever stay at a bed and brekfast and we where a little skeptical at first.
That all changed as soon as we walked in the door. The home is beautiful and our room had its on private bath with the gorgous claw foot tub. The room was tastefully decorated and the bed was plush and amazingly comfortable. They family we stayed with first where amazingly nice. It has since changed owners since our first stay. However we have had the pleasure of staying with this lovely family also and simply adore the breakfast and conversation each morning. I could keep going on about how perfect it always is but then I would be here all night. If you haven't tried The Steamboot Inn then you are definitely missing a true treasure. Did I mention the breakfast is amazing! Will stay there many more times in the future.

My husband and part of my family stayed here this past weekend — it was absolutely wonderful! Byron and Kristen made us very comfortable and went above and beyond to take care of our needs (even getting things for us we forgot to pack). The breakfast was delish and the rooms were quaint and beautiful. We will definitely make the trip back for sure! Thank you for a fun time!
