Wi-Fi blows, calling tech support is useless. Rooms are clean, poor insulation so you can listen to the TV next door or the noisy kids. Staff is friendly enough thou.

Very clean and comfortable room. Staff was very friendly and accommodating! I will gladly stay here next time.

My room is nice and clean the beds are brand new Beautyrest very comfortable the complimentary breakfast buffet is very nice pancakes eggs bacon sausage cereals copies juices chocolate milk you name it it's kind of in there.

We made reservation's at this location well in advance. We had a large group of people and they cancelled our reservations without even having any say in the matter. We were told that FEMA had extended their stay. I understand that there are people that have gotten their house flooded. So I am not upset about that. I am upset with a Hotel with a big name such as Holiday Inn. They could of warned us that they had FEMA booked rooms and that there was no guarantee that our reservations would be locked in place. So that way we could of looked for a different hotel that could guarantee our reservations. There is no other Hotel that would do that to it's customers who made reservations. We are doing an event in La Grange, and now all 12 of us have no place to stay! I called their corporate office to complain and all they could say is sorry. They did not OFFER one single thing for what they have now put us through.

The staff was excellent. I have never had so much help before. Will definitely come again.

I love cold showers so this place really wasn't so bad for me. Seems to have undergone a recent renovation. The poor sheetrock work made it seem more like a Motel 6. Unfortunately it is still an older building and there was a lot of creeks in the floor from people walking around in the hall and you get a lot of road noise at night from the highway. The night before I stayed in another Holiday Inn Express and I am using my experience there to draw to my conclusions about this hotel. I'll pay the room rate of $110 before tax. I would put this location in the $85 range. I will say that the rooms were very clean and the bathrooms were clean.

Room was icy-cold when we arrived and it took hours for heater to bring to comfortable temp. Shower temp Luke warm. Night desk person acted angry that we took her away from TV. Hall floors were filthy. An embarrassment to Holiday Inn Express already iffy reputation.

The hotel is nice and clean, the service is so so. I believe they are short of staff because they were incredibly slow to do anything.

It was a reasonably priced hotel. It is recently getting updated and had new beds. The building has a fresh paint. The staff was friendly and helpful. The Breakfast was really good.

The Wi-Fi was not reliable and they are currently doing construction. Even though my room is 3 down from the one being the one being repaired/renovated our bathroom still smelled like industrial glue. The price is unreasonably high for the area.

I do not believe this was ever a Holiday Inn Express. Maybe it will be once it is remodeled but it is a long way from what I expect when I check in to a Holiday Inn Express; but it is a shabby motel now. The staff is great, worthy of an Express, but the hotel is a dump. I can't believe they are charging a full rate for stays. The rooms are dirty. I dropped something on the floor and beneath the beds it is horrible. I tried to turn on the heater in the room and it was so dirty it set-off the fire alarm. The shower curtain doesn't cover the entire shower. The towels are great though! There are no outlets at the desk. Breakfast was poor. Three pieces of dried bread in the rack, bananas were badly bruised and warm, no skim milk, sausage and the eggs were dry, warm and must have been put out a lot earlier. This property is at best the same as a bad Motel 6 definitely not a Holiday Inn Express. The staff is very polite and at least left a good impression.

This hotel was under renovation when I was a guest, so that kept me from giving it 1 star. But, I plan to NEVER stay there again. It was hot and humid in the reception area. When I got to my room, there was a pull curtain laid out over a chair. The AC was loud & gurgly. The TV did not come on per the instructions left beside it. I let the front desk know about these issues and, even though they were sympathetic & made Notes, the hotel was booked solid & I couldn't get another room (true due to recent hurricane). After the curtain was taken care of & the TV was powered on, I thought I should start making a list of the problems but I did not. If I would have, it would have included that the curtain in the room was down & would not budge in any direction, the screw points dangerously protruding from the closet where they had fastened the iron holder, the unappealing murkyness of the swimming pool and the tape over the camera lens on the ground floor facing the elevator. There was even more than that! Honestly, I felt dirtier for having stayed there.

These people are crooked. They are remodeling with an UN licensed electrician. And no permit. The elevator has failed several times. Lights and breakers fail regularly.
The don't pay their contractors or employees.
Avoid this place for your safety.

Great hotel made you feel VERY WELCOME. Staff was amazing and vary nice, they went beyond out of their way to make you feel comfortable and happy. We we're evacuees from Hurricane Harvey so it felt like home here.

We were stranded due to an unfortunate collision with a deer on Highway 71 close to Columbus. We were quite shaken from our experience and were thankful when the local police gave us a ride to the Holiday Inn Express & Suites hotel in Columbus, TX. The hotel is going through renovation so things were a little in disarray, however the wonderful people who work at the hotel made up for all of it. The front desk people were friendly. The one person we want to particularly give a shout out for is Nan — the breakfast lady. During breakfast, she was friendly, hard working, and extremely attentive. Later on Nan came to our rescue when she learned that we were stranded and were looking for a ride to get to a car rental place 45 miles away. Thank you Nan for your kindness.

This is the absolute worst hotel I have come across. I could fill a book with the issues here as I have been staying here for almost a year. That all changes on Monday I will never be back. Housekeeping is one of the worst I've seen. If you don't mind trash from the previous guest being in your room or condom wrappers laying in the corner, come on in. I spent the last 2 nights with no blinds on my window because they were installed improperly, which is great at night since the parking lot has 5million watt lights everywhere. The good news is if you get my room you won't have that problem because I finally fixed them and installed correctly myself. Your other options ARE lower tier hotels here but trust me it's a step up in every aspect. I'd rather sleep in my truck then book another week at the Holiday Inn in Columbus Tx! Stayed here while visiting the area. Nice, friendly staff. Easy access to I-10 and area highways. Nice breakfast area. I will stay here when in the area again.

The location was easy to find and to get to since it is off the freeway. The rooms were clean. You can tell the hotel was in its final stages of renovations for they were nearly done finalizing a few extra commodities within the lobby, but there was not a mess or a distraction. The service was great! And completely reliable!

Disappointing. The room was clean but the musty order that smelled like they were trying to cover it up, was horrible. The bedding felt damp as well as carpeting. The air conditioner obviously was not doing anything to dry out the room. Have always found Holiday Inn Express wonderful. But this one disappointed us.

I'm sure it would have been fine if the entire Hotel wasn't under construction at the time of our stay. We were also with the wedding party which made things even worse, the rooms were not finished out, and they still insisted on charging us $149 per night when we were quoted 89 and $99 because we were with the wedding party. But that did not happen. Always call prior to stay making sure you have a reservation and making sure the place is not under construction!

Trash as place! Smells like a whore house, and people didn't have quarters! So I can wash my clothes! Not to mention the room looks like shit!

The staff at this hotel go above and beyond to make your stay a pleasant one. The breakfast is great. Now for the negatives: the hotel is in the remodel process so some of the rooms are half finished, etc. The biggest issue is the elevator — which intermittently does not work! And can get stuck while people are inside. We have stayed at this hotel twice in the last couple months, and the issue had still not been resolved at our last stay. We were fortunate to not get stuck in the elevator on our first stay, but it did lurch and "pop" with us inside. Very scary. We chose to take the stairs for both of our stays. There have been repair men there and no one can fix it because they claim it's intermittent. Other than that, it's a great hotel.

For it's age it's a really nice place to stay and pet friendly. But I noticed the gate on the pool fencing doesn't latch properly, that might bite them in the butt eventually. I hope not.

I had a similar negative mgmt experience like Greg, Lisa, Amanda and several others posted. Do not stay at the Holiday Inn in Schulumberg or Columbus. Both properties are struggling to stay in business. For that reason, your credit card will likely be hit with unauthorized charges with no regard for the IHG brand or customer membership. I conceded to $100 in "extra cleaning fees" due to a small pet staying in a kennel overnight (no damage or mess whatsoever), however that was not enough. Melinda Duque (GM) charged my credit card another $150 without my consent, for what she claimed to be a "lost room reservation" due to cleaning of mine upon check out. Only problem is there was literally 4 cars in the entire parking lot and the hotels vacant occupancy records blatantly contradict her claims of a lost booking opportunity. Despite this common sense logic and clear facts, Melinda still showed complete disregard for the reality of the situation. Very unprofessional and insulting towards the customer, no discretion whatsoever… only stubborn emotion. Dont expect paperwork or a receipt upon check out, outlining any extra charges. Book elswhere if you dont want to spend time disputing unauthorized charges on your credit card. Hopefully for the sake of future guests, Melinda was just having a very bad day. But I doubt it based on other reviews posted elswhere.

Enjoyed an overnight stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Columbus, last night.
The staff — their friendliness, professionalism, & their hospitality — from the moment we approached the front desk, to the check out — was wonderful. The Holiday Inn Express in Columbus, TX, has set the mantle high, for client oriented hospitality, quality service, excellent room attendance, cleanliness, and a wonderful continental breakfast — — Well Done, and great staff. Thank you for making our visit to Columbus TX, a wonderful experience!

Very clean rooms friendly staff what more do you need.

I have stayed at many Holiday Inn Express'. I am a Platinum Elite member. This was the absolute worst hotel I've stayed in without bugs. We were on the 3rd floor and when we came off the elevator, I smelled mold. The bed felt wet, and the floor was spongy and uneven, like the mold was in the floor. The room was so moldy smelling, I could not sleep. I tied a bandana around my face, and I still could not sleep. We had a double queen and every time I turned over, my husband woke up. The smell was so bad I slept only one hour, and this was after only 4 hours of sleep the night before. I wanted to sleep in the car, but I was afraid, since when we arrived at 1:00 am there were too many Union Pacific railroad people in the parking lot. I will never ever stop here again.

I have stayed twice at this particular Holiday Inn and was extremely satisfied. The rooms were clean and fresh, the bed linens were not scratchy, but smooth and comforting. The towels were thick and absorbent. Staff service was friendly and efficient. The breakfast was hot and well prepared. Pool and fitness center were clean and modern. Melinda Duque is to be commended for her excellent management.
