This location is awesome because you are right across the street from the Mexican Market & within easy walking distance of the River Walk AND the price is half of what you'd get on the Riverwalk. Legit, it's only a few blocks down. We had so much fun & the Mexican bakery across the street is awesome!

Decent hotel and fairly priced for the area. The rooms do have two doubles, not queens so be prepared for that. We got two rooms both were clean and looked recently updated. Nice clean pool. At night the lock must of the parking lot entrances to keep none hotel guest from parking there, which was nice as we never had to search for a parking spot. Breakfast was basic, waffles, cereal, hard boiled eggs, and breads. Around the hotel there are plenty of restaurants and small shops. You could walk to the river walk, but with the heat it's probably better to take an uber. We would stay at this location again.

Not the nicest place I've been but certainly not the worst. The staff was nice and anything I could want to do was within walking distance. There was plenty of shopping, food, and entertainment all very close. There's a nice park right now the street just watch out for panhandlers and cigarette vultures because they travel in swarms.

This. Is a Nice place to stay at. Across the street you have so many Restaurants you can eat at. It's moments away from River city mall and the River walk as well as the Hemisphere Tower. Staff is very friendly and they will go the extra mile to make sure there Guest are satisfied.

These are outside motels first and foremost. When we walked in, we immediately noticed the carpet was stained. There was a roach on the chair that I laid my clothes out on and it freaked me out. We came back after a long night out and found mouse poop on the bed. My boyfriend worked in pest control and confirmed that this is actually what that was. The shower was incredibly difficult to use and we thought it didn't work. Lots of rigging to get it to work. The breakfast is super limited (no meat) as well.

First of all my biggest complaint was the bathroom. It was very noticeable that it was NOT CLEAN! There was hair on the wall and The tub was not cleaned properly. The bed was comfortable but the pillows suck, plus it’s true what they say when they don’t wash the bedding. There was a blue, yellow, and brown stains on the blanket. The carpet was stained and smelled. Will I be coming back? Maybe for the price but I will be notifing them if things are not cleaned correctly. Who wants to stay in a nasty, dirty, smelly room? Not me!

I'm a rewards member for La Quinta and I've stayed at several of the them. This hotel was decent. Needs updating, and they need to get rid of the carpets as they are stained, but other then this, room was cheap, clean, big and the bed very comfortable. (Stayed 3 days) River Walk is less then a mile away but theirs restaurants right across the hotel. Loved it.

Well maintained, friendly staff. Yes a little outdated but great location. The pool was nice, being so close to the market was awesome. Breakfast was plain but overall a place we would stay at again.

Its a la quinta hotel. Not very inspirational. It just gets the job done. It is in downtown. Expect some odd people in it. The daily rate is good if you come midweek. It is within walking distances of many tourists attractions. Try mi tiera right across the street.

Your estacionamienro is stable there is no lock your resecion is very well resibidad and the rooms are comfortable and of good condition.

Loved it. Went the day after fan fair for my bday on the 20th and the room was awesome. The front desk lady was very helpful and nice. Will def reserve for next years to come :)

The staff was great and the location was close enough to the Henry B. Gonzalez convention center that it was a short walk to get there. The rooms were clean, but they were dated and small. The beds were also smaller than I expected but that's probably my fault for not checking when we reserved the room. I would definitely recommend if you are looking for a cheaper hotel near the Riverwalk that has clean basic amenities.

Nice hotel. In a very busy part of town so if you're expecting a good nights sleep, you won't get it. But close walking distance to a lot of local cuisine.

Great inexpensive place to stay that's within walking distance to downtown. 20 minute walk to Riverwalk and Alamo. It's also right across the street from the market with all the shops. Nice clean rooms with free breakfast.

Clean room. Comfortable bed. Not enough electrical sockets and not in the right places. Carpet is very visibly worn around the door. It was actually tattered. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful with knowledge of the neighborhood restaurants.

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel! Highly recommend it! Room was clean, beds were so comfy & breakfast was great as well! Service was awesome! Movie theatre within walking distance & it’s so close to the mall. We will definitely stay here next time we’re in town!

Great place with friendly, accommodating staff. Rooms are clean, modern and well maintained. Desk, chairs, iron & board, coffee maker, alarm clock&radio, clean linen/blankets, no bugs, 24 hour parking lot security, 24 hour access to swimming pool, microwave and dining area however only breakfast is provided there. Across street from Market Square and Hop on Hop off tour bus loading. 24 hour Mexican food and bakery directly across street. Pets also welcome. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Will return next year for another getaway. Thank you La Quinta!

Location was great. Walking distance to market square and didn't have to pay for parking. We did, however, have to change rooms because of roaches in the first room but our second room was roach free. We did, unfortunately, get ants in the morning that got into our zip locked bag of snacks… Would've been much better without the bug problems.

Older facility but friendly, clean and comfy. They have night security guarding your vehicle but no refrigerator or microwave oven in room. Love San Antonio Texas and LaQuinta!

Awesome LaQuinta! Newly remodeled and absolutely stunning! Great front desk staff and breakfast area was kept clean and well stocked even at the end of the breakfast hours.

I enjoyed stay at the LA Quinta by the market square it was close to everything we wanted to do. The day we got ready to check out there was a lady who wasn't a guest but was feeling well and having problems you have to workers who went to her aide to help and I been a person who works in the medical field was grateful to see that there are people out there who care. I would come back and tell my friend about this place anytime. Thanks for eveything.

Amazing price for an amazing location. Less than a block away from my favorite restaurant, Mi Tierra. Walking distance of a lot of great things.

Not the worst… but obviously not the best. The restroom smelled like urine… it was small cramped and stinky. My kids amd I wore socks the entire time because the room did not feel clean. The front desk was nice. The breakfast was standard issue nothing exciting. For one night it was manageable… but I think they need to use bleach in their restrooms : (

Hotel with good location. The rooms are not luxurious, but they are functional and are fine, although when you get to the our we find a cockroach, dead. It has a swimming pool and the breakfast buffet is very good. Friendly staff and free parking for customers.

If you are looking for upscale amenities, this is not the La Quinta Inn for you. If you are looking for a comfortable bed, warm shower, pool, affordable prices AND convenience to multiple upscale restaurants and nightclubs… This is the place for you! Maria at the front desk is awesome (employed here for 30 yrs)

The location is great being right across the street from the Market square and restaurants. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful in answering questions about the area. We showed up with a pet, they were very supportive of us having her (we chose not to have them clean during the day since she was not in a kennel) but there is not a lot of grass in the area and it would have been nice to be closer to an exit to take her out and walk (we were upstairs on the inside). The breakfast was great with 3 waffle makers, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, cereal, etc. The tables filled up but seemed to open quickly. The beds seemed very small but the rooms were clean and the extra table and chairs were really nice with a sink separate from the shower and toilet which was also very nice. We were able to walk or take public transportation to the Riverwalk (public was very reasonably priced to be able to get back and check on dog). We would stay again. Being able to park for free was a real perk!

It is a very good hotel with breakfast included delicious and a pool, which is very good for relax.

This location is pretty clean. The rooms are nice and cold. I like the fact that the pool is in the middle courtyard. Breakfast wasn't bad either.

Accidentally booked this hotel. Meant to book the one by the Riverwalk. Our room didn't come with a fridge didn't have option to rent one. Needed one to refrigerate baby's breastmilk. We were told we could use the one in the lobby that all the employees had access to. When I went to retrieve my milk it had been moved from back of fridge to door. Was scared to give to baby for fear of it being tampered with. Then our last night there our car was broken into. Nothing of importance was taken but still. Never staying there again.

It's a older motel all the rooms are outside. Place is well kept they have updated rooms. The staff was very friendly and helpful any problems we had was resolved quickly. I would highly recommend this place good location right next door to market Square less then 10 min walk from river walk. There is free on site parking. Continental breakfast is included Waffles, fruit, toast, ceral, yogurt, plus more. Free Wi-Fi.

Just a plain Jane outside hotel. We had to move rooms do to the fact the sheets weren't fresh and the front desk didn't want to change them. The beds were only full which kinda sucked but they gave us a roll away which was very helpful. The breakfast was okay as well. With the standard waffle and a few pastries with the added bonus of some fruit and yogurt. The orange juice was actually really good. If the price was a little cheaper I would stay again but I guess you pay for location to the Riverwalk which was about a miles away.

Very good location, the service is very good and the rooms very clean and spacious.

It was my first time staying at La Quinta but it definitely won't be my last time. My room was exceptionally clean and at a cold 65 degree Fahrenheit, which was nice since it was so hot out. The king size bed was so comfortable! Location is great; half a mile to the river walk so we went walking there. My room number was 130 and it had a slightly noisy a/c unit but nothing bothersome. Small downside is that you can hear traffic outside, at least from this room, but that doesn't bother me. Breakfast was good; Texas waffles, fruit, cereal, yoghurt, variety of breads, and some oatmeal; apple juice, orange juice, milk, water, and coffee were provided as well. Overall: great location, great price.

The area is not very safe, very poor in the surroundings.

I have stayed multiple times and my experience has been great. Just a few feet from Market Square and the famous Mi tierra Mexican restaurant.

Let me start off by saying we have stayed at this LA Quinta before around mothers day this year we choose this location for the market square. The only issue we had the 1st time was the bathrooms where a bit small but we where able to look past that. Tidiness of the room when we arrived was great. Breakfast area is very small so since we didn't want to be loud with our two children we went else where. We had an issue with housecleaning they never came we called once around 2 they said they haven't reached our room yet. My husband went to the front office around 4 because they still haven't reached us yet they said everyone is running late… then again at 5 he asked a housekeeper who only spoke Spanish so I don't blame her for not understanding but when we got back nothing was done. We had to make our own beds and my husband had to go down for towels and toilet paper… They told us we had been put on a do not disturb list which none of us had asked for. I would rate this hotel three or four stars but since we asked so many times and nothing was fixed I believe it deserves 2!

When I read the reviews wasnt sure should I go to this motel or not, but once I got there everything was fine, friendly staff, normal breakfast, clean rooms, worth the money and safe.

Not a bad place. It's exactly what you expect: simple room, basic amenities, helpful staff, fairly good location, parking, reasonable prices. If we visited San Antonio again, we'd probably consider staying here again.

Crappy. Nasty. Disguisting. Terrible. There was mold in our restroom. Room service busted in while I was changing (good thing I was by the bathroom) and then she took off. Just called and let the phone ring for 10 minutes before I hung up. My husband just called and they answered right away. To be able to park when we got off work was terrible. So crowded. Rooms are small. The carpets feel so grungy. The only update done was paint. Terrible hotel.

Was so disappointed. Looks nice from the outside. We stayed at this location 20 years or so ago, because we always stayed at La Quinta. It has not been updated in those 20 years. Tiny, tiny outdated bathrooms with very old fixtures; old, ugly furniture. Reserved a "suite". It was a room with a bed and a small very old love seat with a pull out crappy mattress. The electrical outlets would not hold our chargers they were so old. There was blood on the light switch in bathroom. Had a 3 night reservation — stayed one night.

Ok, it isn't the best La Quinta around, I'll give you that. It is an older one and is in need of some remodeling. But it is clean, and the service is really good. I was traveling with two other guys and we got a room with two beds. I asked the front desk lady if we could get a roll away bed added to our room. She had it up there about the same time we were bringing our bags in and for no added charge. Also, you can't deny the location is really good. Right next to Market Square and Mi Tierra. The great thing about this location is that you can park in the parking lot, walk to Market Square and then catch the trolley to anywhere in the tourist areas so that you never have to worry about parking.

The room was not cleaned. I could tell the beds had been made but nothing else was cleaned. There was trash and dirt on the floor, the tub was half full of gray water, and the beds felt like you were sleeping on brick. You could hear everything going on outside the room and the security staff would talk late at night, outside the room doors so it made it difficult to sleep. This hotel was overpriced for what they provided, and I wouldn't have paid half their rate for those conditions. The charged $100 dollars for a place that I would expect for $30. the other staff was friendly and kind. Tereyll was really helpful but this place needs to seriously change their management. Overall, I would never recommend this location and I am questioning the chain as to their quality.

If you're reading this while seeing it's around $100/ night from some deal site, BOOK IT NOW. Nice room, nice pool (even though it's not heated), and a nice standard breakfast (texas waffles, hard boiled eggs, pastries, and juice/ coffee 24/7). Excellent location also. A bit of a walk from the Riverwalk, but if you walk in a group it's relatively safe. Being across the street from Market Square is also nice, with Mi Tierra also. Stayed March 2015, traveled with family.

We have chosen this hotel because it is very close to the Historic Market District and in walking distance to the Riverwalk. Unfortunately, that was the only positive to be found on this hotel (I would more call it a motel anyway. ). Our room was dark and dirty, the bathroom simply disgusting and the room service did not show up for two days (I had to pick up my towels by myself at least). If you enter the hotel lobby with its dirty floor that seemed not be cleaned for several days you know everything about this hotel. The number of seats for breakfast were limited to around 22 which is simply not acceptable. Concluding, this was my first try with La Quinta, it will be my last even if Iassume that there are for sure better hotels of this chain out there. But it is kind of head cinema at least. I would take another hotel next time even if I need to drive to the places of interest then.

Although the location is convenient, this La Quinta isn't an inn. It's a motel. The room was stark, the pillows lumpy and breakfast is very limited, particularly the powdered cream for the coffee. I've stayed at La Quinta Inns before and while they are definitely not plush, this one is the least appealing I've seen.

Best hotel and the employees are very helpful. I always stay here because everything is close by.

I like the style that not passes x the reception to go to your room, good service and very comfortable the stay, very clean, thanks, 4 nights excellent.

The best value hands down. THe staff was professional. The maids were accomodating. The free continental breakfast was nice. Very small dining area and not very pleasant with a bunch of people trying to get there feel of food and others trying to eat, Add wild children and you have an unenjoyable breakfast. OK>> nuts and bolts matter. Best I mean best side of town to stay. Your across from the market square, close to the freeway, many entrances to the property, few blocks to the claim to fame riverwalk, Hop on bus stop is at market square, You have a good hike but if your healthy the Alamo is walkable, If u drive right out of the property, left on santa rosa, left on commerce, left a few blocks up your see a few chain burger joints. Total of 4 miles round trip, Remember u got alot of one ways, u figure that out and this hotel rocks. It sits in agreat location if you have a pet. No noise in the rooms, dead silent/ across the street market square past it theres milam park. Very few homeless people to worry about. SAPD does a check on those homeless people and keep em line, great dog walk plus poop bags at Milam Park, Papa Johns one block over delivers and few mom and pops open till2am. Childrens hospital no way could be closer unless you were in the hospital. Behind the motel. PD station headquarters. I really rate this place above awesome. Oh ya the pool is in the middle of the motel like an haicenda clean also.

It has an excellent location only to that room stank to cigar, what us uncomfortable days we slept there.

Friendly staff, but a very horrible place to stay! All 3 rooms reserved for my family were dirty and unfit to sleep in. Immediately checked out. If they would actually take care of the place, it would be an excellent location due to the proximity to popular places.

There's mold painted over on the bathroom ceiling and the bathtub has corrosion around the drain. I had to contact Guest-Tek to get the internet fixed and there's no laundry services here. I've been kicking my own butt for not choosing one of the five other LQ's in the San Antonio area. Speaking of which, the area isn't too bad — despite being located downtown — but the rooms are trashy. I've stayed in almost a dozen different La Quintas in Washington, Oregon, California, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Wyoming, Idaho and Mississippi, and this is the worst one I have ever seen. I felt guilty for putting my wife and I up here.

I had a great stay at the Market Square La Quinta. The motel style layout allowed me to unload my car directly in front of my room. The room was very clean. The furniture, TV, and carpet were all new. Despite being right next to an ugly freeway, we had peace of mind due to the police station across the street. It was an easy walk to the Riverwalk, the Courthouse, the Chapel, and even the Alamo. The rate was reasonable and the staff were very friendly. The best part (for a pet owner) is that a pet fee is not required. Instead you sign a waiver acknowledging responsibility for damages. I highly recommend this motel for pet owners and everyone else.
