Wonderful checking experience. Two bedroom suite with a fireplace, two bathrooms, full kitchen & a kitchenette plus a separate entrance for the larger bedroom! Checked in on Wednesday around 6:30 pm — just in time for the meet and greet social. Complimentary authentic Mexican street food and Stellar Artois! Excellence.

Love staying at the Marriott. Friendly, welcoming, and quiet.

The rooms are great, the location is close to the Riverwalk, and the staff is great. I breakfast is good too.

Nice hotel, but do not order food from Big Tony's Pizzeria (2710 S Presa St, San Antonio, TX 78210). They slide their flyers under the room doors without the hotel's permission. Look at the reviews on Google, terrible place. Placed an order for a calzone and two salads and was told my food would take an hour and a half. Unbelievable. I waited for more than an hour and a half and when I called to check on my order the person who answered the phone was extremely unprofessional. He identified himself as the manager and stated his name was Russell. Complained that he had more than 10 problems. He needs to stop crying and run a business. He couldn't even tell me where my food was other than it was out the door and hung up on me. 30 mins passed and still nothing. Called my bank to cancel the transaction and declined the order. I don't recommended this place at all.

This is a nice hotel. Appok stay again. Beds are very comfortable and rooms are clean.

5th stop on our drive from Virginia to Phoenix. Hotel was comfortable and clean, staff was very professional and had smiles on their faces. Many eateries nearby one we tried was Mexican Mi Tierra Cafe y Panaderia just a couple blocks away from hotel and was excellent and was referred to us by front desk attendant. Hotel was easy to find from highway and had ample parking.

Poor logistics involving overbooking. Handicap room was "guaranteed" but unavailable. Otherwise very nice place. Highly recommend for anyone with no special requirements.

Check-In was a breeze. Only having one elevator isnt ideal for 200+ guests but made it work. The room was small and crammed, not the usual size for a Marriott run hotel. The space between the wall ac and the bed is side stepping space and the other side is ok. Some power outlets didnt work but plenty of others to choose from. Bathroom & room should be bigger for a room at the end of the hall but I digress. Other than that, it was a quiet & pleasant stay.

The suite was awesome! had everything we needed. The location is very convenient, about 3 minutes away from an Heb and close to everywhere we needed downtown! Service was good, the front desk people were a little bland. Other than that we really enjoyed the stay!

Pretty good stay. Bed is comfortable. Breakfast is excellent. Only reason not 5 stars = the elevator has a 3 minute wait time. Not. Kidding. 3 minutes. Every. Time. Everyone complained about it. I know this is an older hotel — but c'mon. This hotel stays full. You can afford an upgrade on something as critical as YOUR ONLY elevator?!

Great place for the price and free parking. Rachel was amazing greeted us and told us everything going on help with food ideas. They have a pool not the best but enjoyable, no hot tub though. I would stay here again.

The staff at this location is amazing! The rooms are nothing fancy but the entire hotel was clean. The small indoor pool was a plus.

My wife and myself arrived at 10pm with 2 kids, 4 and 6. And our confirmed reservation was given to someone else. Supposedly they had an upgrade for us that resulted to be not so much of an upgrade. They told us to walk and check in at the Residences by Marriott. No one offered to help us with our luggage despite we had our kids half sleep. We got there and the room they had for us was only for one night, the next day we had to get back to our original hotel the Fairfield Inn. Not so much of an upgrade. Then our room was not even on that building, but another, so we had to go back outside, walk with no assistance, and look for our room. The "upgraded" room had only one bed. They gave me one bed with one sofa-bed for my reserved 2 queen bed room. There was a kitchenette there, buy I did not care for a kitchenette, I needed 2 beds. A sofa bed is not the same as a bed. The sofa bed resulted to be nasty dirty. Under the cushions, we found old cheerios, food crumbs, crayons, dust, and more nasty stuff. I went to talk to someone at the front desk, to found me a different room, but it was full. They went to vacuum the sofa bed in the middle of the night and made lots of noise while my kids where sleeping. I felt bad to put my kids there, so I ended up staying in that sofa-bed that resulted to be very uncomfortable. So far I haven't received any apology or refund for all the damages. This whole experience resulted to be very inconvenient and will never stay here again.

For the price this hotel was great! Our room was clean and the a/c worked amazing! The room was dark but nothing opening up the curtains couldn't fix. The breakfast had actual breakfast food. The staff was super friendly! The pool was very small but clean. My family and myself really enjoyed our stay at this hotel!

Great location! Clean rooms and a great, hot breakfast each morning. They have a basketball court and will let you use their basketball as well. Wonderful people who are very nice.

The room was very comfortable and the staff was wonderful. There is both an outdoor pool and hot tub. During the week they have a happy hour which consists of complimentary food and beverages.

This is an older building with modern updates. The hotel staff is friendly and accommodating. My room is neat and clean and the AC was nice and cold!

Very nice place to stay for the weekend, I wouldn’t mind living there. Price was amazing to. Hot free breakfast was very good. Rooms clean however the mattress on the sofa needs to be replaced, terrrible giant stain, room 110, other than that everything was awesome.

The staff is very friendly and the grounds are kept very well. I stayed at a Queen Bedroom Suite. Includes bathroom, kitchenette, living room with a huge sofa bed. The rooms are spacious. Perfect for families, couples and business people. Like 20 minutes walking distance from Downtown. Near everything but in a really calm area.

Nothing special to comment on is just a hotel for business trips.

Checkin from 4. Pm. Checkout at 11am. However We were conditionally allowed to check out at 12 for free. Noisy aircondition next to bed. Mouldy sink. Hairs in bathroom. Bad smell comming from pipes. Plesent and kind reception. Free parking. Breakfast was a disaster it was till 10 on Saturday. However at 9.20 was very little available. There was no fruits. One yoghurt left when we arrived and people were still comming. No bellboy available. Generraly averge hotel with quite good location. Houskeeping entered room at 8.30. Am.

Room is not up to the Marriott standard. It is very dirty. There appears to be mold/mildew on the air vents. The bathroom door is warped and eroded from water damage. The adjoining door appears to have been pried open at some point. When we checked in, the sitting chair in the main area of our room had a broken leg. It was replaced, mainly so we were not blamed for the damage. The staff is good but the building just isn't worthy of the Marriott moniker.

Staff are awesome! However, Breakfast is boring. There is no variety. Now they have a social on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. The food served then are great. Don't know why breakfast is… Sorry have to say it RUBBISH!

Not the best Marriott I've stayed at. The bed was hard, the pull out sofa bed sunk in and uncomfortable. The breakfast area is small and crowded. The front desk and cleaning staff were friendly but the lady that works the breakfast area comes across rude. The trash in the breakfast area was full and she didn't bother to change it out, people started leaving food on the tables while she stood in the doorway.

The first night we arrived, the toilet did not work. The room was not impressive. The bed sheets were dingy. The bathroom was half cleaned. We had toilet problems again on the second day. Maintenance came to fix it and it broke again. We eventually got another room. Before we went on an outing, we stopped at the front desk for directions; the front desk staff members were not very helpful. I was very disappointed.

Nice, hidden gem hotel with great rooms. Even after a month, I never tired of the rooms as very pleasing and well thought out room design.

It's clean and nice. Staff is very kind. It didn't get a fifth star because the room was cold (AC at 60° and it's Winter) and no blanket. Also, when you have two full baskets of apples, why not bake them?

I had an issue with the Marriott reservations staff booking the wrong room for my employee and had to move hotels. We are a government entity who sends staff to various hotels throughout the year. Called the Residence Inn Downtown/Market Place in San Antonio and spoke with a Hortensia Sanchez who was exceptionally understanding and new I was frustrated at that point. She went above and beyond to make sure got my staff a room although she had a full house. This employee needs to be commended for her customer service efforts and because of her I will be sending more employees as well as myself to this Marriott location. Thank you again Hortensia for taking care of us!

Very nice hotel, great location.

I want to thank the staff at the Fairfield Inn for helping my friends and I when we were stranded by Winter Storm Inga. The amazing service, and kindness shown to us in a very stressful time was so worth the headache of being stuck. The breakfast every morning, the smiling faces at the front desk, all the staff was willing and ready to help if you had an issue. Thank you for allowing us to book extra nights on short notice. We will be back next year for Pax South. Thanks again for great service.

Got a 1-bed room which was surprisingly spacious. Breakfast was good and plenty of free parking. Rooms seem very well insulated too, didn't hear anyone all weekend. Would definitely stay again.

Authorized my reservation visa before I checked in then authorized my credit card for my stay. Totalling $940 locking out my credit card. My stay was with points! I found out day 2 and the manager hasn't been o site till day 4 checkout day when we were in court all day unable to be reached locks us out and my dogs in. They were told to fix this so I could cover the extra day but did nothing to help. Now my family of 5 with 3 dogs is getting kicked out with a locked card. I will never stay at this brand again and can't believe they treat employees this way.

Large clean rooms with Wi-Fi and complimentary breakfast. Parking is free and the hotel is just a short walk away from the Historic Market Square.

I attended Fairfield for a service call. There water heater needed repair. Maintenance and front desk lady was very nice, and helped with any question I had.

My fiance and I visited some family at this hotel while they were in town. It was very convenient to downtown San Antonio and relatively easy to find. Good amenities including a full fridge and everything seemed clean and well kept.

Location is great, and facilities are clean. Bedrooms are good. Gym is minimal and has one elliptical, one treadmill, and weights that go up to 25lb.

This location is about a ten minute walk from the Mercado, the Cathedral, and the Riverwalk; and about twenty minutes from the Alamo. It is very accessible. The rooms are well-sized and well-kept, if a little lacking in kitchenware. The bed was a little hard, too, but that's mostly up to personal preference. Continental breakfast was provided and met my expectations. Their iced coffee was actually pretty good as well! All in all, it was am enjoyable experience.

Rooms are fine. Breakfast is not great and on a tiny area making it difficult to move around when crowded.

I love the location of this hotel. I've stayed here before and it was ok but this time too many issues with odors in the room. We had to switch rooms multiple times due to fouls odors that hit you immediately when you walk in. The final room was ok, even though you can hear the noise in the hall. Also we went out and came back and you could smell odors probably from the adjacent bathroom. Also we noticed the fridge still had food from previous guests in it. My husband couldn't take anymore, we checked out early the next morning.

Beautiful quiet, clean place I've been more than 5 times already. Minutes away from river-walk and Alamo. Their breakfast is excellent and parking is free. The room service and front desk are irreproachable. Nice Customer Service and affordable price.

The room was clean and quiet. Plenty of room for my whole family. The desk staff was very accommodating with extra blankets and sheets. An easy walk (1 mike) to downtown and the market.

Such an amazing experience. The room was big and clean, the kitchen was great! From Monday to Wednesday they had snacks, beer and wine at 6. Their breakfast was always delicious, the workout gym had working machines. The staff was extremely kind, a d there was always water, and fresh apples and bananas in the lobby.

Me and my wife loved every moment very spacious living area full kitchen with everything you need to. Cook a delicious meal walking distance from the Heart of downtown and around the corner from the HEB I would definitely recommend staying there and I will go back.

Everything was absolutely wonderful from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. The location was very convenient being downtown and less than 5 min from the Riverwalk. The staff was very professional and the AGM was very welcoming. The breakfast was set up very well and refreshed regularly. Overall a great stay and highly recommended.

Very close to riverwalk area. Less than 10 minute drive. The rooms are clean and above expectation for price paid. Great value. We received very friendly service from all of the different staff members we interacted with.

We had a relaxing time in our room. The only thing was my son wanted to get in pool and couldn't there were some rowdy kids in pool. Plus eating inside the pool that was the whole reason we even got hotel for pool time and couldn't even enjoy.

Great location and nice atmosphere. Free breakfast was great with a selection of meats, eggs, fruit, waffle maker, yogurts, a large breads selection and a variety of drinks such as juice, milk and coffee. Downsides are the extra firm bed that I couldn't sleep on and the somewhat hot water that was slow to get hot.

The rooms are average sized there is an indoor pool which is AWESOME! I LOVE how cozy this hotel is. Friendly staff 24/7 and they have a little in house store there which is reasonably priced and stocked with affordable necessities. I recommend this place topi every one… very reasonable and family oriented.

Loves newly renovated with modern furnishings. Location is within walking distance to Market Square. Free breakfast every morning and Happy Hour with drinks and snacks Monday&Tuesday. Staff is very helpful and friendly.

Great location nearby to market Square and the Alamo. While it is not quite walking distance from the main attractions, it is a very short drive away and was easy to get back and forth between the two. The room was very quite and had plenty of amenities to keep us satisfied. The breakfast in the morning was another plus. My only complaint was the couches were very hard and not comfortable at all, though since we did not use the couches for more than a few minutes while waiting for the family to get ready, I am still keeping it as a 5 star stay.

The place is sound and serene. It's beautiful, convenience store is nearby. Public conveyance is available right close to the front gate. Overall nice place and good hospitality. I recommend this place for tourists and business people.

The staff was friendly and helpful. I called the front desk to request additional toiletries (soap, shampoo) and someone brought it up to us within ten minutes. The room was clean, and spacious enough for a family of four for one night. The sink is in a separate area from the toilet/shower which was helpful. There was a large furniture unit that served as a TV stand, dresser, desk, and held the microwave/fridge. It also provided an area to place bags. All of the surface area was very useful. The food included with the complimentary breakfast was about average for a hotel of this type, but it was well maintained and the layout made it easy to reach items without stumbling over people. Parking was free, which is a nice plus considering the proximity to the downtown area. The bed was comfortable, but the pillows were small and collapsed easily. All in all the hotel seemed well maintained and worked suited our needs for a brief stay.

We checked in on Saturday afternoon and had a great stay. The property was very clean, modern and staff was helpful and friendly from every moment. The 1 bedroom suite was impressive with a fully stocked kitchen with utensils and pots and pans, full size refrigerator and dishes. We loved everything and can't beat the free hot breakfast! Stayed 3 nights with 2 young kids. The rooms were clean and it was nice to be able to put the kids to bed early in a separate room. The breakfast exceeded my expectations and the staff was super friendly. I would definitely stay here again.

Stayed there for one night over the easter holiday weekend. Front desk seemed as if they were being put out by having to check us in. Rooms were musky and didn't smell very pleasant. The beds were uncomfortable and the bedding is paper thin. Breakfast was pretty good. Had a good variety and the lady kept it well stocked. Won't be staying there again though. Front desk demeanor needs lots of work.

Me and my file were supposed to stay here, but SeaWorld screwed up our package and lost the hotel reservations. The hotel was completely booked so we couldn't stay, but the staff was nice and tried to help as best they could.

We have our father in the hospital and have stayed in this location several times. On Christmas one of my brother in laws had an upset stomach, he didn't have any medication to help him my sister asked the young lady in the front desk. She didn't have any available, but she walked over to the hotel next door and brought some over the counter medication that helped with the upset stomach. She didn't didn't even think twice, went out of her way to help them out. Rooms are always clean and staff has always been extremely helpful. As a matter of fact we will be staying there tonight as well.

Completely lived to my expectations b of a service as frequent business and pleasure traveler. Had a problem with a TV remote control which turned out to be my fault because I could not see well in the darkened room without my glasses. The staff handled this issue with skill and perfect attitude.

Pros- Check in/out process went smoothly. Staff very nice. Room was clean, despite couches needing sanitizing and spot treatment. Fridge and microwave were clean. Lots of parking spaces. One computer/printer. Cons-Room looked much bigger online. We stayed in the "Executive Suite". The Snacks and frozen dinners were very limited and overpriced. A $0.50 bag of chips is $2.00 and a frozen dinner is $7.00. Complimentary breakfast needs real meat and eggs. There was only one elevator and it was very slow. We stayed here because we bought a package from the SeaWorld website. It was about 15 minutes away and there is no shuttle to SeaWorld so that was a bummer. Luckily my in-laws were at hotel closer to SeaWorld so we rode the shuttle from their hotel so we wouldn't have to pay for parking. This location is fairly close to the River Walk/Downtown/ Alamo. So if that is where you plan of going this hotel would be a decent choice. Area is a little sketchy though. I wouldn't mind staying here again as long as my room doesn't come with a couch. Nowhere near as bad as a super 8.
