Reviews of Grand Hyatt San Antonio River Walk 4*
Rooms are small. Everything cost extra. Pay for a room here is from 300-700 a night. Breakfast will cost you around 15 each person, then you have to pay extra for laundry I didn't eat lunch or dinner here. But be prepared to spend more money on everything. Pool is broke out of service. Parking is 45.00 a day. spending less amount on a motel room is definitely the way to go at least you would have more money to spend on fun. I wasn't planning on having to spend money to do laundry I figured with the price of the rooms at least your laundry would be included. not impressed at all!
VIP housekeeping, Lily Moreno is a beautiful, kind, sweet person. Very helpful and with a beautiful smile always. We love the stay there, and hope she’ll be on VIP housekeeper again and again.
Nice clean rooms. Nice staff. Very understanding that we needed a late check out and accommodated us with everything we needed to make our stay very enjoyable.
Love the location and the staff’s responsiveness.
Just checked in today and everything so far has been amazing! The staff has been top-notch and super helpful! Stayed here before when hotel first opened and had an ok experience but today so far has been wonderful! Definitely will stay here again!
Beautiful hotel with staff that go above and beyond. From the valets to the front desk staff to even the housekeeping staff in the hallways everyone’s so friendly. I’d definitely recommend this hotel hands down if you are in the downtown San Antonio area!
Love this Place! Right off the Riverwalk and you can smell that BBQ.
The perfect hotel on the San Antonio River Walk! Right near the boat tours, the convention center and all the fun of downtown! Exceptionally clean, great renovations and epic work out area. They have pelotons! We loved the pool area, the terrace and especially the Top golf Suite! Super family friendly or a fun, getaway!
The staff is amazing, especially the gentleman at the entrance door who happily greets everyone with a genuine smile and opens the door for you. He's awesome!
Great staff… locations nice. I love their drive up. Many hotels have you in the streets. really nice views.
Just clean and friendly staff.
People were very helpful. The hotel is very nice. The restaurant is great, awesome food!
This hotel is anything but Grand. Upon arrival the staff were EXTREMELY rude, unwelcoming and did not even acknowledge us for assistance checking in (especially Holly. ) We booked the hotel for our honeymoon and not only did they make check in extremely complicated, but they put us in an ADA room which was not requested nor needed. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. Please take your business elsewhere.
This hotel should be ashamed of themselves! The guests barely have running water and food after the ice storm and they have been rude and cold hearted! My friend and other guests are stuck and they won't even discount the rates after poor service and God knows what else! OUTRAGED!
My family got stuck at this motel after the ice storm. No water, no showering, no brushing teeth and didn't even offer bottled water. Charged them full price for room and little food for guests. Had to go to river near motel to get water to flush toilet. This is so pathetic. On top of it all the fire department came in and asked the front desk girl how everything was going? She everything is fine here and then they left. Liars all around. Haven't had their room cleaned since Sunday. Never stay here because they only care about the money not the guests.
If you no are going to be stuck somewhere during a polar vortex, you better be stuck here. Radley from
Phoenix was the absolute best hotel manager I have ever encountered. I am a very seasoned traveler and have stayed in all levels of accommodations. And while the Grand Hyatt is a “nice” hotel, it’s their willingness to go above and beyond that was the wow factor on this stay. Radley was always attentive. He was a problem solver. He was empathetic to our situation. He was a true leader. Holding our room until we were able to board our plane was just one of the many small things he did to make sure our stay was as comfortable as possible. Loaning me his cell phone charger, so that I could charge my backpack up battery incase there were power outages was another small gesture that went a long way. I will continue to stay at a Hyatt when I can, because they hire employees such as Radley at the front desk and Eric in engineering. When winter storm Uri passes, both of these men need a bonus and a few extra days off. Respectfully, room 730/736 2/12-17/2021
I was so proud of the Hyatt staff my wife and our were celebrating our honey moon here and they upgraded our room for us at no cost. Cory was so wonderful at the front desk and made great conversation. The hotel did a fantastic job keeping everyone safe during covid but also keeping our nerves at ease with down town boarding up shops, police, and the potential of rioters going on during elections counts. That helped alot. The rooms were so nice and everyone was a dream. You have a true gem on your hand with Cory. We had a wonderful stay at the grand hyatt thanks to the fantastic staff and environment. Please let them know how amazing they made our visit.
Grand Hyatt was great customer service my three grandchildren enjoyed their goody bag…
room nice a clean.
the pool took your breath away with the view of the Tower at sunset. Will return again.
The staff was incredible even with everything going on out of their control. They welcomed us when we needed a place to run. Thank you all for such a great experience. My husband and I will definitely be back to stay again!
Beautiful space to be in. Rooms are super clean and very comfortable. Room service is absolutely wonderful too!
Love this hotel! Ruth Chris is their restaurant — on the river! Great location — and has been redone recently-we have stayed here many times since they opened! The club has also been redone! Also — the sheets are wonderful — & the pillows! ❤️
Great staff, nice rooms, good food, everyone is helpful and friendly!
Absolutely THE BEST experience ever! Julia took care of my room accommodations, Maria O. And her Big Boss gave me two promised breakfast vouchers since I didn’t have club access there. The Big Boss had all items and amenities needed for me. I safely watched the Hemisfair fireworks from the comfort of my room. Hyatt Grand really “Wowed” me over the exceptional customer service ♥️
Great hotel, love it, really enjoy.
Super nice hotel. Very friendly staff and close to the river walk. It’s the foschizel!
Nice people, very large rooms and quite.
Just the pillows, I always have a problem with pillows lol other than that. Great location super close to river mall.
Staff is always over the top friendly and helpful!
Awesome rooftop pool. Snack stand/restaurant on site open 24/7. Awesome location! Great staff!
Very clean and comfortable. Great, very nice staff.
Its clean and really good location. For a good price.
First impressions : modern, classy, clean, with nice furnishings and excellent air conditioning.
Would recommend.
We always stay at the Hyatt. Staff is great. Rooms are nice and clean. Love the fridge, and safe makes everything easy. Love the set up I can put all my family's clothes up in the drawers and it has a homey feel. Very nice gym. Valet parking available. Nice short walk to heart of Shopping, Dinning, and Bar Hopping. Will continue to stay here and bring my family.
They have excellent service. The rooms are clean and spacious. Not to mention the amenities.
Great hotel! staff is very helpful and accommodating.
This was really my best experience for a hotel stay anywhere. The rooms were nice and clean, the beds really comfortable. However, the best part of this hotel where the people working there. We had a couple minor issues during our stay and Cory Bartoli and Pinkie Williams took care of us like no one has ever before, thank you both. Especially Pinkie, you will never meet a nicer person who always smiles. We highly recommend this hotel if you are looking to stay on the Riverwalk in San Antonio.
I started off my stay frustrated because I was informed I’d be charged $31 for parking. Not at all happy about it, but I wasn’t in a position to go move my car to a cheaper lot close by. My event ticket said parking would be $6. They said that’s only for the event… so as a guest I’m paying more? Super. The room was ok, bed was ok, pillows were terrible, and there was not much air movement from the A/C. One side of the room was cool, but the other side and bathroom was too warm and stuffy. No fan in the bathroom! Everything seemed WAY over priced. We stayed there because my event was there, but next time we’ll stay somewhere else. There are lots of options and if I’m paying $200 I want to actually BE on the river walk… not at the end of it.
I had this place at 5 stars but then I paid $5 for 2 16oz sodas. No biggie, prices are usually quadrupled in tourist areas. Then I went to put something in the microwave and couldn't find it because there isn't one in the room. First hotel ever that doesnt have one in the room. There was one, however, on the other side of the building on my floor, by the one and only ice machine on my floor. We then went to walk downtown only to come back to the room to a check out bill for $33.56 for parking. Really?! Where else would guests park if not in the hotels garage? They do not tell you that you'll be paying to park in thier garage. Had we known we'd have to pay $31 plus tax we would have found parking elsewhere. The bed was very comfortable. The room was clean as to be expected. It was quiet.
Room was tiny, like a dorm room. Shower had no water pressure. The t. V. Is big but their cable was constantly losing signal. No continental breakfast for 230 a night (usually 300). Do yourself a favor and stay at embassy suites right down the road for half the price, a huge room, and the most beautiful lobby I've ever seen. This Is A Horrible Hotel!
This is a pretty amazing hotel. The location is awesome right off the river walk and close to the Alamo and lots to see and do. The room was dirty and gross. They got carried away with the low pressure shower head. You have to sit under it for 10 mins just to get your hair wet and another 30 minutes to get the shampoo out. It is terrible. Every time you turn on the sink it makes a loud banging noise and then the pressure drops to nothing. For the price it is pretty bad. The TV is on some kind of system that takes like 10 minutes to turn on before you can change the channel. The air conditioning will not go below 78 so it was pretty stuffy at night.
If you like loud bass flooding your room at 240am, this is the hotel for you. Amazing views of the convention center rooftop with 0 regard to your comfort. Watching people on the same floor being moved to other rooms at 240AM… amazing, like the whole experience here at the Hyatt! Please come stay and experience what 200 a night gets you!
The room was over all okay… my toilet was not working… they offered to move me. But I had just unpacked so I agreed to let maintenance come. He fixed the toilet. Valet attendant was friendly gave great directions. Once I woke up I went to make coffee the tea packets were dirty as if some one spilled something on them and they were not changed. I opened the coffee maker and it was disgusting… I wrote a note and let it in front of the machine … please clean the machine… I walked down stairs to inquire about juice, where to buy and was directed to the sandwich boutique across the way… just to over hear the dr o… I ont desk attendant offer the person behind me. Water, juice or beer. Whoa! Nice locations that's it… Tiny pool.
Minor reservation issue upon arriving but they were quick to resolve. The hotel is beautiful and modern. The workout areas is above par with ample space for a variety of work out options. The outdoor pool was amazing and there was ample seating around the pool. The shower took way to long to get warm but was visually appealing.
Great facility on the Riverwalk. 1, 000 rooms, lots of space for meetings, Ruth’s Chris on the lower level, spacious rooms, great catering and friendly staff.
WOW! Paid extra $30. To be on upper floor tier… well worth the view… elevators only for these floors… room like a million dollars. On Riverwalk near everything. 5th floor pool was fabulous looking across town.
Good clean rooms, nicely sized with good views of the city. Large TV in room. Outdoor pool and fitness center are both very nice. Double beds are comfy, but a bit small. Booked room through third party and was unable to switch to king room, understable given busy holiday weekend, but would have been nice to be able to switch. Towels are a bit too hard. Would rebook for future visit.
Get hotel has a very professional feel to it. The interior and exterior of the building are modern and beautiful. In the lobby, there is a little cafe/breakfast area to buy lunch along with a bar equipped with alcohol. The staff was friendly and helpful with any questions we had.
Rooms are modern, clean, and appear to be well maintained. Location is great, downtown, next to the Riverwalk and convention center. Service is also very good. We did have an issue with the TV, a drawer falling out, and the phone, but they were quickly resolved. A little more proactive attention might avoid these issues, though. The fitness center has a lot of equipment and a wide variety of machines, and the pool is reasonably sized. I'd stay here again.
Very good service and the hotel is very comfortable.
I liked the rooms, very beautiful. Had a bit of mold in one corner of the shower. The shower head was pulling a lot of water to all sides. I had the water spraying my estimate and I could feel the water spraying my face. The view in my room was to do the roofs of the buildings were fences and the tower. The view from my parents was the center of the city. The river is outside of the hotel. I didn't have that handle for nothing. The workers were very friendly.
Fantastic hotel, as expected. The room is clean, the staff is friendly, the lobby is nice — — but what the heck is up with the breakfast situation here? Before 7 your only breakfast option is a small storefront with barely any options and there's nowhere official to eat, either. People are just spread out across the lobby eating random things because there isn't a restaurant to eat in. And the line gets like 30 people long because, you know, it's a 19 floor hotel with no real breakfast option. Why on Earth is this a thing, I have no idea. Other than that, I love this hotel. I really do. When you stay here pack a breakfast bar or something.
I can tell you with absolute certainty that the service in the bar during happy hour absolutely stinks. I was prominently sitting down for almost 10 minutes without even being ackknowledged. I considered the fact that they were a little busy so I really didn’t make a fuss until about 10 minutes in. I was working at the hotel in the Texas Ballroom for an event and I only had an hour for dinner. And they wasted precious minutes of my allotted time they gave me to eat! I don’t expect this out of a grand Hyatt. I finally had to intercept a heartless waitress and ask her How should I order food to go. I’ve been here many times before and know the drill but it’s always a different scenario every time. They seemed put off by my surprise interaction but I really could care less what they think. Another waitress finally came to the rescue gave me a menu. It was cold shoulder and for the rest of duration. When you are paying top dollar for food and drinks one can expect a little bit better hospitality and service.
Great amenities and service is great! Not sure if it's the environment or hvac, but my one issue is that it is incredibly dry. The pool is great you can swim laps. It's in the heart of you're and directly connected to the river walk. Otherwise great place to stay.
Great hotel! Thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. Staff was always friendly and helpful. Our room was really nice and housekeeping did an amazing job of keeping it clean and restocking everything while not disturbing our belongings. The bar downstairs is nice, although a little pricey. The hotel is also within walking distance of just about everything! Will definitely stay again next time I'm in San Antonio.
Prime location for high end restaurants and shops. Impeccable service. Everyone was friendly and helpful. My husband mentioned our anniversary to the front desk and Stephanie sent a basket with wine and chocolate treats up to room. Water softener and quality bath soaps made us feel at home. Everything was wonderful. I highly recommend this hotel for your stay!
Final four weekend. Just an amazing experience. The Hotel was very accommodating. The staff was super friendly. The bar and lobby was always busy. Seconds from the riverwalk. Connected to the convention center. Seconds from the concert grounds. Just a really brilliant place for final four. I would hope that more similar type of sporting events or any other larger events would take advantage of the layout specifically with the Grand Hyatt and it's surroundings.
Customer service is excellent. The room I stayed in this looks remodeled, nicer than the room from my stay last year. The beds are comfortable. The breakfast offerings at the Perks restaurant on the lobby floor was reasonable.
This hotel is very trendy and the amenities are great! The view from our room and the pool are great! The only downside to staying here was the $28 we had to pay for self parking, which is a bit expensive and could add up if you’re staying multiple days.
Excellent service. Located wonderfully to the River Walk. Accommodations were adequate. A huge and wonderful heated outdoor pool with a decent exercise room BUT no hot tub anywhere. Actually baffling for a hotel this size.
This hotel is definitely not what I expected. The rooms are basic and did not smell clean. Not to mention they charge for every little thing without telling you. They charge $29 dollars a day for self parking without telling you on top of paying almost $300 per night. Also they say they are right on the river but you still have to walk a ways just to get to the restaurants and shops. Never coming back here again.
This place is only a few years old so everything in it is very clean and nice. The hallways even still smell like freshly laid carpet. Everyone from the valet to the maids are very lovely and willing to help to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. It is also minutes away from the mall and connected to the convention center. It is a little more pricey than the other hotels but well worth the higher cost with the niceness of the hotel and services and location. The riverwalk even runs right by the hotel so at night you can walk along it and enjoy the beautiful scenery.
Internet was incredibly slow at this location. Water pressure in the shower was also poor. Card in the room says they change linens and towels after second night, but they did not in my room. The bottom sheet had some stains on one corner that made it recognizable and it wasn't changed even after three nights. The small toothpaste and mouth wash in the bathroom was a nice touch, but the mouth wash want replaced after being used up the first night. No complimentary bottled water or anything like that. Room was clean and had no noticeable odor. Overall, not super impressed with this hotel. The location is nice, but that's about it.
The perfect stay! Newly remodeled, simply beautiful. Lovely touches and thoughtful attention to detail, such as motion activated ambient lighting, mean no more stumbling in the dark to the bathroom! But, that’s not even the best part. The BEST part is the customer service! Top notch! Shout out to Joel! This will be my first choice, whenever I visit San Antonio!
It is a world-class hotel with all the services that you need as a visitor of a city, the rooms are spacious are clean although a little outdated feature with excellent views to the surrounding area, from the hotel you can find several important points of San Antonio walk, How to detail seemed a bit high the cost of parking, should be offering a better promotion in terms of cost to their guests and that is always full and it is difficult to find place.
The hotel itself was gorgeous! It was clean, the staff however needs some improvement, when we checked in we were over charged 250 dollars, since we paid by debit, we had to wait 6 hours for the money to be credited back fully then be charged the correct amount. They promised all kinds of extra things for our trouble. We again waited several hours for them to fulfill the promises. By then there was a shift change and we had to explain it all again. We will be going back to San Antonio again but will probably be staying, elsewhere.
The hotel was very nice and in a convenient downtown location. It was right next to the river walk with an accessible entry way to it. There is a Ruth Chris steakhouse at the bottom level. The parking is all underground and can get noisy. I don’t think the doors for the parking on each level are handicap accessible though. The convention center is on the first few levels which make it an easy trip down the elevator if you are staying at the hotel. The one big downside is that they charge extra for Wi-Fi in the ballrooms.
Location ideal, right at the end of the Riverwalk, next to the convention centre and a block away from the mall. Hotel parking a little pricey, so if you're NOT going to be in/out, it's probably cheaper to park across the road for $11 a day. Food & drinks at the bar and downstairs at Ruth's Chris were excellent. Club Lounge access was worth the premium, and we had great service all round. Club Room was a little small — there wasn't even room for a set of drawers! — but it was well appointed & clean.
The hotel is very clean and the staff is really friendly. It is connected to the convention center so it is easy to get to meetings quickly. The bar service was really good and the bar food was also pretty good. I had the Buffalo wings several times and each time they came out super hot and fresh. I wouldn't say they were the best wings I have ever had but they were still delicious because of how fresh they were.
This is a great place to visit, lacuartos are very caring and this side of the Rio! Everything is Perfect!
The staff were great and accommodated us having a baby! The lobby was beautiful and the location was convenient. The reason for the 3 star is the room needed wear and tear repairs. We let the lady at the front desk know when checking out that they may want to schedule some repairs in the room to be nice and she said they aren't really making repairs to the rooms that haven't gone under their renovations. She said hopefully we can come back next year when it's done. As we would like to do so, but paying full price for a room that's not up to par is unfortunate.
Excellent service. Beautiful facilities. I asked for a crib. The crib came with an actual crib sheet and a baby sized blanket, as well as baby shampoo, lotion and baby powder. The crib was in the room when we arrived and I was able to put my little one down for a nap immediately. It was such a relief after a long day of traveling. The front desk service is top notch. Facilities are gorgeous. Views are amazing. A great hotel. In case you're not familiar with normal crib service in a hotel, they usually just give you bed sheets, which is NOT what you want in a crib with a baby.
Great experience. Clean rooms! Staff was pleasant and friendly. Very convenient location to Riverwalk. The only downside was Ruth's Chris Steakhouse was closed during our stay, but the hotel did provide a list of great restaurants nearby for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We will definitely book again with this hotel!
The hotel was the location of the event which made it very convenient. The amenities in the room like ear cotton swabs and a fridge were all a nice touch. They even brought a sewing kit to my room to fix a torn costume. Amazing service. Plenty of pillows and towels. Room cooled nicely.
My family and I stayed one night at Grand Hyatt San Antonio, and it was relieving to return to a clean room with a city view at the end of the day. The room is nicely decorated, there is a refrigerator, two comfortable queen beds, and a lounge chair that my 13 year old sister used to sleep on. She said it was comfortable. The location is convenient if you're looking to look around the River and the Alamo. The staff were amiable. Overall, it's a good place to stay if you don't mind the price.
We were greeted at the diamond welcome desk. The associate named Pinky was absolutely fabulous. Our rooms were absolutely outstanding, the views were spectacular and the service was extraordinary. My overall experience at the Hyatt over exceeded my expectations.
The onlyn thing I did not like was the staff at the snack Bar was rather rude I couldn't find the blue berry muffins for my kid and when I ask them they would point and say its over their instead of assisting helping me find it which would've took less then 2 secs and when I tried too get their attention to tell them I only see banana nut they would ignore me and keep helping other customers like I didn't matter and the manager was on the phone not paying me any attention after I already purchased the muffin with out seeing what I purchased and I couldn't find where it was and eventually I just told them if you can't help assist me I will just get my money back and then she finally helped me.
We've had a wonderful stay. Clean, well maintained rooms and public areas. Friendly, helpful staff. Shout out to Felicia in housekeeping! However, Parking fee is exorbitant, as are the prices in the Starbucks Coffee area. Room service is available only through Ruth's Chris restaurant, which means you pay $18 for a cold omelet. There is no complimentary ("included") breakfast, which is unheard of these days, even in hotels which cost far less. Convenient to Riverwalk area, with a wide choice of restaurants in easy walking distance. Bikewaiter will deliver food from area restaurants to your room for a very reasonable fee. All-in-all, we would definitely stay here again.
I wanted to review the bar, but I couldn't find it. Since this is the next best thing… I order food, it came fast and was amazing. I had to go to the car to get my wife's purse for her medication. The bartender must have thought it was funny, cause he thought it was appropriate to make a rude comment about how cute my purse was… If I wanted jokes I would have gone to Dick's last resort.
Great location downtown close to the River Walk, Alamo, convention centre, and Rivercenter Mall. Really helpful staff (David on the Concierge desk was awesome). The bar is big with lots of comfortable seating, and the Ruth's Chris downstairs is convenient for some upmarket dining. If that's too pricey, there are lots of nearby food options. We had a room on the top floor with a king size bed. The bed was a tad too firm for us, but the room was a good size and clean. Furniture had nicks and scrapes suggesting it had been in place for 5-10 years already. The room included a working fridge and Starbucks coffee. Bathroom was contemporary and spacious. Closet door was heavy and seemed like an afterthought. View was OK; overlooked the roof of the convention centre and construction, which woke us up in the morning.
Check in was so quick as easy. The hotel is right on the Riverwalk and close to so much. We rented a car but really didn't need it since we were so close to everything. The staff here were all accommodating and pleasant. If we ever returned to San Antonio we would absolutely stay here again.
This is our first time visiting a Hyatt Hotel. On our out of town trips, we usually frequent either the Hilton or the Marriott. The choice of Hyatt was because our son made State band and the Henry B. Gonzales Convention Center is conveniently attached to the Grand Hyatt San Antonio. Although the location is awesome as it is truly in the heart of the Riverwalk and is walking distance to everything, once my husband entered the hotel room, he commented that it looks like a dorm despite being an "accessible room. " = (It was very underwhelming while the hotel lobby was very impressive. The room was hot despite putting the AC on blast. The front desk service, especially Mr. Matt, was awesome and as a platinum member, they really gave you priority. While we were travelling with my parents, who were senior citizens, he really tried his best to get us early check in. The housekeeping staff, particularly, Guadalupe, was very friendly and courteous. When we requested assistance, she was very patient and helpful. Although customer service was a thumbs up for this hotel, the rooms left very little to be desired.
Don't hesitate, book now and travel! We travel 10 to 12 times a year, all over the world have been to. There has never been a place to Bora Bora Seasons Hotel Resort scenery, weather, compared to the local population, as well as on the overall satisfaction. To provide maximum room hotel, that's unbelievable. Whether my words or my photograph taken by, and were quite fair description of this stunning resort.
The rooms are clean and the location is great. Customer service leaves a lot to be desired. My coworkers room was missing a piece of furniture that she was supposed to have and had a toilet that was leaky and flooded the whole bathroom.
Nice hotel, price was fair for quality. Parking is expensive. It would be nice if they gave hotel guests free or discounted rates instead of paying full rates. The restaurant (Ruth Chris) was very nice and tasty but very expensive. It is there only option for all meals and room service… it would be nice to have a cheaper option for breakfast/lunch/room service. Our room was bit warm even though we turned the ac way down, as other reviewers have mentioned. The room was quiet even though they were busy. Overall nice stay.
Very enjoyable stay! The rooms don't get as cold as I would like, but everything else was great! I really enjoyed the bar and the food there. Chicken tacos were tasty! Whiskey peach tea was good too! The scenery and atrium made for a good experience for this fledgling traveller!
Location was convenient, right next to convention center. Rooms were adequate, nothing too fancy but comfortable. Beds weren't the most comfortable. Breakfast was mostly cold, but enough variety that it was good. Service was great. Parking was expensive in the hotel, garage across the street was about 1/3 the price.
Very good and clean and the housekeeping is perfect.
The rooms are clean and nicely decorated. The staff have all been helpful and friendly. The amenities are nice, and the food I've had has been pretty good!
The location was great! Had easy access to the Riverwalk (a big attraction for San Antonio) as well as the Alamo (another big attraction). Both these places were within walking distance less than 8 minutes even with stop lights and poor weather. The hotel itself is very well equipped with plenty service personnel to open doors, answer questions, provide help, etc. The buffet breakfast is superb, does come with a server hence a tip needed for the buffet, as the server will bring you drinks (of all kinds) and provide a happy face for your mornings. The overall experience is excellent. I highly recommend the Hyatt for your stay at San Antonio.
Stayed the hotel for 6 nights. Loved it! The room is spacious and clean. The staff are friendly. The fitness center is great! The only thing missing is the indoor pool. Don't go to the little coffee place by the fitness center. I did not enjoy my coffee or food there.
For two nights in a row, our next door neighbors were extremely loud and you could hear everything through the thin walls of the hotel. The second night, we called the hotel staff and they took care of it, which we appreciated. The first day, we had vouchers for any restaurant in the hotel The Ruth Chris restaurant was sorely understaffed (at least this is what we were told), and even though it was half empty, we wouldn't get served even if we were seated. The hostess was extremely rude, and very short with us. I get that she was stressed by the many people she was turning away (and losing a lot of business for the restaurant I'm sure), but she shouldn't have taken it out on us. We ended up going to a different restaurant because we knew we wouldn't be served for a long time. Other members of our party ordered room service, which they said was not great quality for the price and took hours to come, so we were glad we didn't wait around. After being gone from 8pm-230pm, we thought that this would be enough time for the cleaning crew to come by and clean our room. Since they hadn't, we put a no disturb sign on the door and were taking a nap. Regardless, the cleaning lady still knocked several times on our door, waking us up, and then asking multiple times if we wanted the room clean. I know she meant well, but that's what the No disturb sign on the door meant. Although I was overall disappointed by our stay, there were definite positives.
Love coming back to this place. I used to travel here for work consistently and have found myself coming back just to visit San Antonio. Very modern with a friendly staff, Judy in the Grand Club always makes it feel like home.
Hotel seems nice for all the amenities, but you'll quickly find it isn't all that great. The floors were terribly filthy, our feet were black 10 minutes after walking in the room. Found out the hotel charged our debit card $100 and didn't bother to tell us. It's a "hold" in case they need to charge us for something, which takes several business days to process putting the money back in your account. We went to the pool at 8:30 pm and the lights were off outside and in the pool. Not very safe to have a pool open 24 hours with no lights. Engineering finally came 30 minutes later and turned them on. The kicker? The cashier at the coffee shop took it upon herself to alter our receipts and charge herself a tip that we did not leave her. We have $6 in overcharges for overpriced coffee to begin with! We have contacted the proper people to make sure these fraudulent charges are reversed.
This is my hometown and I stayed for a convention, and everything was great. Beautiful hotel, located in the perfect spot of downtown. The only drawback is when I booked my room months in advanced, I asked for a connecting room with my friends, and they did the same. We were 3 floors apart, and the rooms didn't even connect. I wish they had just told us over the phone that they didn't have connecting rooms. Unless they only have connecting rooms above the 14th floor, which I still feel is necessary to inform us while we are requesting such. We were able to check in hours before check in time which was a huge life saver. The rooms didn't smell like normal fresh hotel, and the rooms were pretty small. I think the Menger had bigger rooms, but horrible service. Will definitely stay here again… for a con.
Unfortunately I didn't get any of the names of your valet staff, but each one of you was a Blessing and I have no doubt that my mom and I are not the only ones who Think so! One of you allowed us to valet yesterday even though you "weren't supposed to" since we weren't guests of the hotel. You held the car door open for me and Patiently waited while I transferred into my wheelchair, instead of trying to "help me" which usually makes things take longer! When we thanked you for your Kindness you said "it's the least I can do" and while I'm not sure what you Meant specifically, I Know that Whatever your Intentions, they were Positive. When we returned for our car last night we were Met with the same Kindness by ANOTHER one of your staff! Today, again, we Experienced Kindness, Joy and Divine Presence with MORE of your staff! So, Thank you for Bringing, Who I Choose to Name The Holy Spirit, to your work!
We were charged for our room twice by accident. The staff was not very nice upon arrival. The rooms were not very impressive either. They ran out of parking and retriving our car had us stranded in san antonio for what seemed like an eternity. Not inpressed at all.
Stayed at this place for a convention and it was an overpriced "nice on the outside, cheap on the inside" joint. You pay… excuse me, OVER PAY for the name. The rooms were inferior to La Quinta, Budget Inn, Motel 6, etc. I have stayed at many of the hotels off the highway that are WAY nicer and even with the convention rate Grand Hyatt gave us, the others were a better value. Vacuum and Shampoo the carpets for Heaven's sake, and spray some air freshener in the halls. I have NEVER been charged for parking when attending a convention hosted by the hotel… that is until the Grand Hyatt. For anyone who reads this review, don't go to this place unless you can afford $200 a night to just find out for yourself.
I stayed at tge Grand Hyatt on the river walk durning the 4th July weekend, this place was terrible stay for myself and daughter the rooms were not clean they have dust mites, not to mention the feather cover pillow top had a ripp on the seems which accompained with white dirty pillow to sheet with old stain… not worth my moneys and time I have had better stays with sourround motels on the riverwalk that I would rate a A plus anyday… but most certainly not the Grand Hyatt we had to discontinue our vacation early due to our allgery reaction to dust mites and busted feather pillow top.
Great location! my t. V. Wasn't working properly. They sent someone immediately. Next time in San Antonio would stay again.
The hotel was clean, nicely located, had great amenities, and had friendly staff. I rated it a 3/5 because I requested a wake up call, which never came. This resulted in me coming dangerously close to missing a very important business meeting.
We stayed here for dental meetings and we had a good experience. Everyone was kind and helpful! Beds and pillows were very comfortable. Clean stay here. And the water is soft here too which I thought was a plus! Thank you.
So great… Awesome location… Helpful with ordering from a nearby florists. We felt very secure and safe.
While our stay started out rough, with outdated hotel information and room not what we would expect in a luxury hotel class, once notified in a constructive manner the front desk manager made sure all our concerns were addressed and added some extra perks. My wife and I would definitely consider looking at other Grand Hyatt Hotels when we travel to different locations.
Very clean hotel in the heart of San Antonio. They have self and valet parking with friendly staff. Clean rooms and just steps to the Riverwalk.
Hotel was nice. But that was it. When we got there, I paid for a business room with king bed. They put us in two double bead standard and said they didn't have any king available. So I complained and they had a king available. So the desk lied. Then our air-condition stopped working and called the front desk to see what they can do. They stated they will send an engineer but he never showed. So called again to complain and hotel didn't offer any solution or even comp anything. Terrible experience.
First impression was outstanding! Brilliant lobby, excellent location; though a few things started to come out during my stay such as the headboards wearing away and no hot water one morning.
I have been staying now for business and pleasure for two years at this Grand Hyatt San Antonio property. I now call it my "home away from home". The staff is consistently there, and always friendly. I truly feel that I can just "stop by" and say hello to friends. I do not consider staying anywhere else when I travel. If an issue with my room or stay comes up, it is always handled very quickly. The staff in the Grand Club on the 23rd floor is exceptional, and I want to say a very special thanks to Judy B.! I will continue to stay here, and recommend the hotel to as many as I can. Thanks Paul T. For a job well done at the Grand Hyatt — San Antonio Riverwalk.
I purchased our room from a website like priceline. I paid 158. The best hotel room I have stayed in. Hands down. It was a deluxe room. Outside the door is a doorbell. It had a living room with a restroom then the next room was the bed room king size, with a master bathroom. Huge shower and tub! The room number was 2430, an employee told us it was one of the two rooms they have like that in the whole hotel. We will definitely be staying at this hotel again! And hopefully in that same room.
Recently visited this hotel with my family for vacation and reserved two rooms! When we approached the hotel I was not impressed! The lobby was beautiful and had 2 VERY expensive eating and lounging areas however for the price of this hotel I was expecting MUCH more! NO free parking, I was charged $27 per night for parking (that I was not aware of until I made it to the hotel), there was NO microwave in the rooms, NO Wi-Fi (you have to pay for it), NO hot tub or Jacuzzi at the pool, NO breakfast! The rooms had NO wow about them, just a room. There are other hotels in this same area that do not carry the "name" that this hotel does but has much, much more to offer for the price.
Pros: was a nice place. Cons: -for starters, there's no free Wi-Fi in the room. No, you'd have to pay $10 ($9.95 for all those specific pricks out there) for 24 hours of Wi-Fi because paying $150+ a night doesn't warrant the customer free Wi-Fi. Apparently, there's free Wi-Fi all the way down in the lobby, so I guess pretty much anyone can siphon off the Wi-Fi and bum around there too. -housekeeping did a subpar job in tidying up the room every day that me and my companions stayed there. First day, both beds were made, and that was fine because that's about standard procedure for housekeeping. Second day, ONE of the full size beds were made, and they folded the toilet paper in. That was it. -the room was too small. I'm pretty sure there was about 2 feet of space between the foot of one of the bed and the desk that also serves as a platform for a tv. -room service (especially at night) was by far one of the biggest pains we had to deal with. 1) called the front desk to see if we could get a number to a near by food delivery place that delivers late at night. Got charged down to the dimes and nickels for the call to the front desk. 2) the hotel did not have a sufficient amount of bedroom things (ex: pillows, sheets, etc. ). We had called in for extra pillows only to wait an hour to call again to ask where they were. Later on, we had placed an order for more pillows only to be told that they "ran out" of pillows. HOW DO YOU RUN OUT OF PILLOWS IN A HOTEL?!

The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. I just wish they had more closet space or drawers. There was only 1 drawer and an open closet with 7 hangers. Not quite enough space for 2 adults and 1 child.
