Reviews of The Chattanoogan Hotel, Curio Collection 4*
I spent 3 nights here with a group of High School students for a convention. The staff were an amazing group of individuals and the facilities were great. We will definitely try to stay here again.
Also, check out the spa! Patrick is amazing and the rest of the staff is as well! I highly recommend!
Beautiful hotel, romantic & overall great place.
Great service nice rooms.
I stayed here for a girls' weekend with my mom and sister and had a great time! The room was clean and well-stocked, parking was easy and convenient, and the staff were great to work with. Brenden Meers at the front desk went above and beyond to make sure we were satisfied with our stay and made check out a fun experience — when does that ever happen?!
Beautiful hotel. Nice roomy room, large shower and bath. Would stay here again. Convenient to campus.
The rooms are very nasty However, the food was good.
Very nice rooms And friendly staff.
Very Nice Staff. Centrally Located.
Awesome stay great room accommodations!
My fiancé and I came to celebrate our engagement. This is our second visit to this hotel, and this is one of the best! The hotel is gorgeous, the restaurants and bars inside are fantastic, and the staff and simply wonderful. The staff made our stay so special. Especially Brenden and Chris at the front desk. They both were so helpful and such a delight to talk with. They helped to make our celebration memorable!
Staff was great and super helpful. Loved the spa and their staff. Rooms were nice.
Can’t say enough great things about our stay! The staff from the first min we walked in was nothing but incredible! We checked in and never left they have everything you need great food, great atmosphere will be back soon!
Three days there and I felt comfortable. Room was cozy and all of my questions were answered.
The Hotel is Beautiful it self but it did have a downfall for us. We stayed in the Presidential Suite and the room itself was amazing. The downfall was the carpet around the dining room table was soaked with water, so we could not sit at the table. I had to throw away the socks we had on because they got wet and dirty. The refrigerator had standing water on the top shelf and smelled funny.
I called the front desk to inform them of this problem and they said they were aware of the problem and that was all they said. There was no sheets or blanket for the fold out sofa, no towels either.
The next day upon leaving we went to the front desk and told the daytime Front desk staff of the problem and their response was “It was because of renovation growing pains” what’s that even mean. We told them we didn’t want them to think we had done that (wet the carpet) again they said they were aware off it.
We were not pleased having to stay in a room with maintenance issues.
We are a diamond member.
Wonderfully courteous staff & great atmosphere. Fabulous lite fare at the High Rail Rooftop Bar. Ask Chandler about the Southern Lady cocktail.
Stayed three nights with my sweetie for the long Valentine’s weekend. It was a wonderful experience! All staff we came in contact with were pleasant and welcoming. Coming back in two months and bringing the whole family this time! Centrally located to fun adventures! We didn’t have to drive more than twenty minutes to get to any of our destinations.
Everyone was very nice and accommodating. They worked extremely hard to make my wedding day a success and it was wonderful.
The hotel is beautiful. Associates are very nice.
but. No room service when requested. More than 8hrs to clean room.
Lamps and electrical outlets did not work. TV pixelated went off line and never came back on.
When we returned for evening the TV was working. We requested clean towels. The associate was kind and apologetic.
The staff is doing a great job considering the circumstances that are affecting their abilities to provide excellent service. Shouldn't you be thankful to have a place to stay during the pandemic when you travel into Chattanooga? The hotel deeply discounted the rate due to the conditions created by the construction. Who could have foreseen a pandemic when the decision was made to purchase and convert the Chattanoogan into a Hilton Curio Hotel? Looking forward to seeing the finished product.
Updated. The GM called me and discussed my issues. Thanked me for being brutally honest and made me feel better that she would correct the issue for future guests. My biggest complaint is they are not upfront and honest about the current situation. We were told up front that the restaurants and spa were closed. We were emailed that the pool was closed. Ok we could live with that it was still billed as an upscale hotel. When we got arrived there major construction going on, the lobby was gone, the garden area was covered with equipment and construction supplies. The room was nicely decorated and bed comfortable but the a/c didn’t get cold even when set on 65. After a day on the town we came back to the room to find no fresh towels, garbage still in the room and coffee not replaced. Called the front Desk and they said we would have to come down and get supplies. The next day the front desk was kind enough to bring fresh towels up. We should have left then but it was the second evening and we decided to stay but I asked to speak to a manager. One was not on duty but would be in at 830 am. 8:30 no manager. I left my number. No phone call. Got back from sight seeing and was informed there had not been a Mgr in all day. We will see if anyone contacts me tomorrow. My wife picked an upscale hotel and we would have had as good or better amenities at a Motel 6.
We just spent 2 nights here and it wasn’t quite the experience we would have hoped for. Even though the hotel is going through some remodeling that didn’t really bother us. We knew the restaurants were closed ahead of time. Our TV was stuck on Nickelodeon… we couldn’t get it to change channels. The safe was locked. We spoke to the staff at the front desk. They were very nice and accommodating. When we got back from lunch the TV was fixed but not the safe. Not a big deal. However, when maintenance left they didn’t shut our door. Then as we were trying to nap, there was a loud bang on the door. Maintenance had returned to work on the safe. We told him not to worry about it. The walls are paper thin. We could hear our neighbors and anytime someone was in the hallway we could hear them as if they were in the room with us. Very disturbing when you’re trying to sleep in. And sleeping in is what we were doing when at 10 am someone banged on our door to see when we were checking out. My husband said we were told checkout was at noon, which I had been told when I made the reservation. They rudely told him it was at 10. I immediately called the front desk. And again, they were very nice and extremely apologetic. I was assured checkout was at noon just as I had been told. Too many things were just a hassle. We just wanted a few quiet, relaxing days. But kudos to the front desk staff!
Not pleased with this hotel at all. My husband and I traveled 8 hours from Florida to Chattanooga for my birthday only to find out the Chattanoogan Hotel was under construction. When we made the reservation we were not informed the restaurant, spa and pool were closed and the front of the hotel looked horrible. We paid full price to stay there for 3 nights ($491) including parking. We were informed when we got to the hotel there was no house keeping either. We are well aware and understand we are in a pandemic and our health is most important but to not inform your guests of the circumstances before arrival and still charge them FULL price literally just for a bed is ridiculous to me. We get in the room and there was no toilet paper and dust everywhere. Which leads me to believe the room wasn’t properly prepared upon our arrival. By the way, walls are paper thin and we can hear everything in the rooms next to us all night. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone especially in these circumstances. I was HIGHLY disappointed after paying $500 to stay in a place like this. Not my best birthday stay thats for sure.
Loved the staff they were all friendly, Brandon? think that was his name he helped us find a restaurant with dinning in. The room was clean and smelled so good and fresh.
My wife and I stayed for our anniversary. Wonderful experience! Staff was so wonderful! We will def be back!
Super disappointed tonight after checking in to learn they no longer have a indoor swimming pool. When booking a nearby hotel to the convention with a pool this looked like a great option. We now have several upset and disappointed little girls who planned to swim as usual before their cheer competition tomorrow. Had we known this was removed back In November for a roof top bar we would of booked elsewhere and will for the upcoming years sadly due to no indoor pool.
This hotel was great! I stayed a couple days. The food, interior, room was perfect. My favorite part was my pedicure by Ms. Jan in the spa. This was the best pedicure I have ever had. Plus Ms. Jan is the sweetest lady ever and really knows her stuff. When I’m back in Chatt — I’m going to stop in and see her again!
I was looking forward to company Christmas party and having the opportunity to experience the Chattanoogan as I have heard good things. However was VERY disappointed. They ran out of food to feed everyone and many people were left with only mashed potatoes to eat as a meal. Then when we went to get car from valet the valet box was wide open with everyone's keys there for the taking. Cars were lost, keys were left in unlocked cars, cars had been riffled thru, someones debit card was stolen from their car. IT WAS A MESS! Will not recommend to anyone nor will I return. POOR customer service. Nothing was offered nor done to rectify the problems.
Need to have better customer service and quoted different price at check out than check in. Restaurant was amazing. Breakfast wasn't free and buffet was on the high side. Had 3 different taxes at check out. Call desk about the amenities operator was not friendly or helpful.
Thank you sooo much for allowing me to capture my birthday photos in your facility. This has always been my go to spot for my photos and a drink or two. The staff is amazing.
Wow!
I decided to take my daughter to Chattanooga for her 13th birthday. I informed the hotel about her birthday and they went above and beyond for her. When we walked in our room they had balloons, a small gift and a signed card from all the staff. Shortly after our arrival a knock on the door and they delivered a tray of amazing desserts with her name in chocolate. It made her day and made mine too. Great hospitality! Everyone is so friendly. The hotel is surrounded by trees and great views of the mountain. It feels like you aren’t in the city, but you are less than 1/2 a mile from great restaurants and the river. Thank you! Happy Mom and Happy 13 year old. Yes, they made a 13 year old happy. Miracles do happen!
Convenient to so much. You can walk to restaurants, shopping, coffee etc. Always great service!
Place is a little pricey. Quality is ok!
I absolutely love the Spa. Patrick and his staff go above and beyond! I wish I lived closer. Also the salmon and shrimp salads were delicious. My complements to the chef. The female bartender also was very attentive and opened a new bottle of wine for me since the original bottle had been opened for days. The front desk staff was very helpful in recommending local restaurants. I enjoy coming here every year with my husband during his construction conference.
Really nice rooms, great restaurant & bar The Foundry was amazing! great staff. The pool was very nice. Area was nice. Family friendly. Really enjoyed our stay!
Not a good experience by far. We booked 2 rooms to stay at the Chattanoogan Hotel a couple of nights ago. One room was for my husband, the other for my daughter and her boyfriend. Even though they were arriving late, I wanted them to have a beautiful and clean hotel with great ambience, so they could spend a couple of hours relaxing and enjoying their stay before going to bed. Therefore we booked the “Deluxe” Rooms. My family arrived late evening and went out to eat after check in. Upon returning they were ready to relax and enjoy their stay only to find that the toilet AND sink in one of the rooms were completely clogged up. My daughter called the front desk to report not being able to use either. After that they sat in their room, ready and waiting for someone to show up and fix the issue. After a 45 minute wait, and getting tired and ready to go to bed, they had to call again to see what took so long. Surely at least someone has a plunger at the hotel? Finally someone showed up and it took a bit longer to get the issue fixed. Of course by then it was late and they just went to bed. Definitely NOT the “deluxe” experience that we paid for. They had to go to another room to use the restroom, and they stayed up waiting for someone to show up. Also, my daughters bed was covered in a torn sheet. While that alone is not a big deal, that just is not something you expect from a deluxe room that cost over $200 to sleep in. I realize things happen.
I stayed at the hotel on 7/3 to celebrate my Birthday in Chattanooga. The hotel was very acommodating to let me check in a bit early. The room was spotless, and we enjoyed a beautiful view overlooking the courtyard. I received excellent service from the front desk, the valets, and the spa staff. I have stayed at a couple other nice hotels in downtown but this is my favorite so far. I would recommend staying here and I am looking forward to returning to the Chattanoogan.
We stayed for one night. Hotel is within walking distance to plenty of restaurants, family activities, bars and parks. Indoor pool with a nice balcony off of the pool that overlooks the mountains. The pool room also has a steam room, sauna and hot tub. Rooms were nice and up to par with the pricing. Valet parking or self serve parking for 8.00 which was a nice alternative to our 40.00 a night valet parking at another hotel.
First, the service was more than exceptional. Kaitlyn was phenomenal in letting us know what all this hotel had to offer. If time allows, check out the spa! The location of this hotel makes it worthwhile too as almost every place that we visited was within 10 — 20 mins of The Chattanoogan. We will definitely book here again when we visit Chattanooga.
This place is fantastic! We ended up here by fate when we accidentally booked another location for the wrong dates and had to book at the last minute. It costs more than the other place we had booked, but it was well worth it to be pampered a bit. At first we were concerned this place might be too swanky for our family of five — and it is swanky — but plenty of families with kids. Staff is incredibly nice, accommodations are superb, location is superb, very close to everything. Highly recommended!
It’s a nice place. The security guard at night is awesome. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Especially the night staff! They really want to make sure you have a great time.
Wonderful staff and a very nice hotel. Rooms were comfortable — standard hotel room. Walls are very thin and we heard a significant amount of ambient noise from other floors, other rooms on our floor, and the hallway. Otherwise a great stay!
I just like this place. Great service and very friendly staff. Maybe a little pricey for Chattanooga but in line with other large cities. Breakfast buffet was good. I'm not a picky guest but I saw the staff go out of their way to help others.
My husband is here for a conference so to pass the time I went to the gym and walked through the spa to get there. I met the spa manager Patrick who immediately befriended me. We hit it off right away and so I asked about the spa services. Patrick is definitely an asset to this hotel as you can see right away how much he loves his job. After a few minutes chatting we decided that I would get the facial/massage package. When I came back I was escorted to the the area where I would change and the hallway was illuminated with twinkling lights. It was magical. That would be the same word I would describe my facial that was given by Lynda. She is a gem and her years of experience was definitely noticed. After the wonderful facial I had an amazing relaxation massage given to me by Danielle who is young but to my surprise has experience coming through her fingers that seems years in the making. She not only found my sore spot but healed it. The icing on the cake was the foot massage/scrub she gave me. Wow it was so amazing that I added more time onto my massage. Next I went back to Lynda for eyebrow waxing. What a difference using the super bright light. She’s like a magician. Finally I has a poolside lunch waiting for me with a glass of champagne with a strawberry flare. Just when I thought I was done I was asked if Bethany the Nail goddess could change my toe polish. Of course I said yes since I was fully committed to a day of pampering.
Location is very nice to downtown Chattanooga. Parking could use a little better labeling. Check in was fast and easy. There was a convention going on which would have been nice to know either at the time of booking or via email. Room was well furnished, everything clean and in place. Pool and sauna was nice although pool is max 3.5ft deep.
Very nice downtown hotel. Great food well priced. Contemporary rooms decor. Neat bar area with free pool tables and table top shuffle board. Outdoor gas firepits are nice. Great spa and indoor heated pool. Complete fitness center.
Amazing stay very comfortable rooms and beds. The rooms are very clean and so are bathrooms. Great friendly staff. Pool and spa on site. The hotel is near restaurants and the free trolley stops a block away. They also have a bar on site that serves food and alcohol. They have a happy hour and live music some nights.
The food is definitely delicious really upscale you get more than your money's worth here! Melvin cooks the BEST omelets EVER! One of my favorite places to go to eat. Jessica is an awesome hostess!
Enjoyable night stay. I stayed at The Chattanoogan for business. The rooms are nice and spacious. Breakfast buffet was delightful with omelets to order. Within walking distance to many nice restaurants and the aquarium.
Just had lunch at broad Street grill. It was awful. Everything that was supposed to be hot was not. Steak Diane was too tough to chew. Ate small caesar salad and some mashed potatoes I found that were warm. Desserts though we're very good. Won't be back, esp. For $14
Love the valet parking! The food is delicious and served buffet style. Menu changes daily. Never been disappointed. Wonderful atmosphere to meet colleagues for lunch, or reserve a room for a special occasion. Waitstaff is friendly and on top of it. I was their for a goodbye lunch at Christmas.
We were very impressed with how nice the hotel is. We booked including tickets to the aquarium and everything was ready for us well before normal check in time. Every one was super nice and helpful. I will definitely stay here again when we visit Chattanooga!
We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and the staff is very friendly. I love the safety on the elevators, and that it is equally couple friendly and family friendly, so I would consider it for both. The beds are really comfortable for a hotel, which is super important for us with bad backs, and the location is perfect. We would definitely stay here again, and hopefully we can.
Visited here as an exhibitor at a conference and I did not stay overnight or dine at the hotel so I can't speak to that. However, I can speak to the Conference Services team and can say that they were excellent. They were helpful at every turn from the members of at the front desk to the folks working behind the scenes. If you're considering having a conference in the Chattanooga area I'd say you've got a great option at The Chattanoogan. Very clean and inviting lobby area as well.
I go here to get the lunch buffet. It is the best value in Chattanooga for lunch. The food is quality and the desserts are great too. Friday night is a large seafood buffet, I posted some pictures here. All the staff are great and will take great care of you. Park out front or valet in the back. Its easy, feed the meter or the valet staff, your choice.
Attended a lunch at the Broad Street Grille. It was set up as a buffet which is always challenging to keep food hot. They did a good job and the food had good flavor. The buffet was BBQ themed that day so choices were limited, but the menu posted online made me already aware of the choices. Food was tasty. I would go back.
Fantastic hotel! We stayed in a deluxe king room which gives you a very nice view of the mountains. We checked in late so we couldn’t see anything but in the morning the view we got was the city. So I went to the front desk to inquire about the view and the lady was so nice and changed our room immediately and we got the view we hoped for! All the staff including housekeeping were so friendly. We also had an amazing experience at the spa and enjoyed drinks at the foundry. Hotel is in a great location as well to downtown and lookout mountain.
My wife and I went for lunch at the restaurant. It was pretty good. It was not the best but for 12 bucks it was pretty good and that included drink. Our server, April, got a little busy but made sure that other service took care of us what she did with the credit card issue from another table I would not mind going back my wife really enjoyed the ambience of the place. Very businesslike.
The hotel was beautiful and in a wonderful location! A lot of the things I wanted to do were within walking distance of the hotel. The lobby was gorgeous and beautifully decorated for Christmas. My favorite part was the excellent customer service. From check in to check out, all the entering and exiting, and any staff we just passed, everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful. In my opinion, customer service can make or break a hotel. This one was definitely made by their excellent customer service!
Nice hotel in the middle of downtown. Many shops and restaurants within walking distance. Friendly staff greeted us at check-in and assisted in finding a place to dine. The night we stayed, they were hosting a Marine Corps ball, so the outside parking was pretty crowded, however, there was plenty of parking in their parking garage. Would be better if they included the price of parking when you reserved and paid for your room instead of at check-out. Otherwise, really nice stay here.
The first room we stayed in wasn't clean properly, but the staff was very quick to change the room for us. Everything else has been great. Custom service is 5 stars! Food is great.
We didn’t stay here but I booked a couples massage for me and my husband to celebrate our anniversary. I was expecting a nice spa experience but that is not at all what we received. The ”spa” is just a run down hotel gym with massages available. The “relaxation lounge” where you wait to be taken to your room is a hallway with a crappy bench to sit on. THEN they parade you down the hall, OUT of the “spa” gym to a converted guest room for your couples massage. Then of course you have to return to he “spa” gym the same way! The therapist did a good job but I couldn’t enjoy it for being SO disappointed with everything else! I did NOT get my $350 worth for sure!
My husband and I stayed here for an academic conference. We had a wonderful time! The food downstairs is excellent. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are beautiful and sparkling clean. I definitely want to come back here for a longer vacation.
I attended a morning professional event there. Staff were professional, though few were around upon entry. I had to seek out staff in order to ask a question upon entry rather than being addressed directly. Staff were in a professional conversation between themselves. Everything was beautiful and clean. Food was delicious. Google maps needs to be updated with the main entryway.
Very nice upscale hotel. Rooms are quiet and comfortable. Would like a nicer shower but it works. Staff are terrific and friendly!
We got a suite and it was clean and spacious, but maybe not as big as what we paid for it. The location is on the edge of downtown. It's all very close to the aquarium or Lookout Mountain, depending on where you are going. The hotel felt more modern than what I was expecting from the pictures on the website, so that was a plus.
We have stayed here many times. We love Chattanooga and it is the place we usually stay. My husband and I haven't stayed here in about 3 years. We were shocked to see how much it's deteriorated in that time. Everything looks really worn. I think it's way overdue for some upgrades, it is definitely not a 4 star hotel anymore. It's not bad, just not great. I hope they give it a facelift soon. I would compare it to an older Hampton Inn in its current state.
Clean, great location. Not sure I would call it luxury like they do but serviceable. Good service on a busy ironman weekend.
We came here after a bad experience St a neighboring hotel… We should have just started here! The staff were wonderful, facility is beautiful, food on site, live music in the bar and valet parking made this a fantastic choice. Room is large and spacious. Quiet doors and elevators. Water pressure and massaging shower head were perfect. Room was clean, cared for and cozy. We will absolutely return!
My workplace had an event at the Chattanooga in one of there ballrooms. It was my first time being there and I was very impressed. The food that they served was absolutely divine, some of the best collard greens and fried green tomatoes I have ever had. The ballroom was very spacious and set far away from other event spaces in the Chattanoogan. I would not be disappointed if we decide to hold another work event there.
The grounds and lobby area were immaculate, and aesthetically pleasing. The room — not so much. It was dusty and there were hairs left behind, making it seem like the room hadn't been properly cleaned. On a positive note, the bath towels were very large, which is nice! The bed was reasonably comfortable. The staff at the Chattanoogan were all very nice and friendly. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.
The rooms were good.
The room was very clean, the services and the staff were very friendly. I recommend it.
I ate at the Broad Street Grill in the Chattanoogan. The service was great, and the food is always good. They have a wide enough variety that I always can find something I like. Best banana pudding!
Attended a four day workshop. The conference area is clean and in good shape. The staff has been helpful with getting the meeting area setup and keeping our snacks and beverages well stocked. Ate lunch in the hotel restaurant. It was a buffet and the food was better than expected. The smoked beef brisket was really good.
Absolutely beautiful hotel. Rooms were clean and well taken care of. Close to downtown Chattanooga. Would recommend.
Stayed overnight and went sightseeing. The hotel offered a great package to many of the attractions. The hotel helped with directions and suggested some options we were not aware of. We all had a great time.
Good place for a conference. Nice meeting rooms, good A/V, great food. This hotel is walking distance to much of downtown and it's many dining choices. I've stayed here several times.
Room was nice but needed some minor repairs. The smoke detector was hanging down and not securely attached. Holes in the wall in the bathroom. Very quiet with excellent staff. Broad Street Grille was amazing. My wife and I ate at the Chef's Table and we're treated great. Chef Charlie Akin and his team came up with some off menu items and everything was delicious. Our Sommelier Jarrod paired wines excellently and beginning to end took great care of us.
Very pretty and the breakfast was great! The beds and pillows could be more comfy and the pool was small. For such a large hotel you would think the pool would be bigger. It was very clean and had good access to the city. Good staff, not great. I'd stay there again, but i'm not too passionate about the Chattanoogan. It is close to the Public House which is my favorite rstaurant in Chattanooga! That's a plus.
This place is amazing. Thank you to Rea who works there who was very nice and amazing. Every time I'm near I will only be staying here. So clean. Great food. Excellent service. Just perfect. Thanks again Rea!
The Chattanoogan is a nice hotel. The bar and diner are well staffed. Workers are very courteous and keep the facilities in tip top shape. It is a bit on the expensive side so if you are looking for economy this is not the hotel to book. The only thing I have any real complaint about is how the parking garage works. Having to pay an attendant prior to exiting is OK until you are at a function and 600 people all leave at the same time. The line was long. The staff should consider having more attendants after large events.
I stayed here recently for a company meeting and it was a very nice facility. It is not huge but for our meeting purposes, probably 150-200 people, the ballrooms and facilities were great. The rooms were very clean and well appointed and the service was fast and friendly.
Very nice hotel and reasonably priced as well. The pool area was great. The restaurant has a wonderful breakfast buffet. The only complaint is have is on the last day the room service man barged into my room while I was trying to get dressed that morning. He said that he apologized our room was marked as vacant. Other than that embarrassing moment I enjoyed my stay.
What a great hotel! Excellent customer service. Great location in the heart of Chattanooga!
Great hotel in the heart of Chattanooga. Beautiful rooms, love the decor. Staff really goes out of their way to make you feel welcomed. Valet parking offered as well. 5 stars!
This is one of the best hotel stays we've ever had anywhere. The rooms were nice and very clean. Every staff member we encountered was beyond friendly. The lobby is warm and inviting. The fire pit is an excellent touch. The bar and restaurant were fantastic. I do have to recognize Josh at the front desk who has to be the most friendly and accommodating person ever. He made us feel very welcome. You definitely have a gem with him. Also, Melvin makes great grits and an outstanding omelet. Our compliments to the chef for a delicious breakfast. We were truly satisfied with everyone's hospitality.
The hotel is very luxurious. Meeting/Ball Rooms were spacious and nicely decorated. Buffet style meal was delicious and had plenty of food. Every staff person was kind, courteous, and helpful. I would definitely recommend this place for any type of function.
Great place. Enjoyed the indoor pool but it was a little cool and some of the amenities didn't work like the steam room and elevator in the parking garage. The service was excellent though! They saw our kids were getting antsy and brought them out coloring books. Would come back.
First off, Josh. The guy who greeted us at the front desk around 11pm on 3/29/15. He saw us coming across the lobby and greeted us warmly, then proceeded to check us in with a smile. He was pleasant, friendly, informative, and professional. My boyfriend and I travel for a living and interact with many late-night front desk attendants, and we both agreed that Josh has given us the best customer service we've encountered in a long time. People like Josh MAKE 4-star hotels. The Chattanoogan is lucky to have him. About the hotel itself, the room was clean and comfortable, the internet was fast, TV was great. A word on parking: it does cost $8 per day, so come prepared for that charge and don't give Josh any guff, ok? We ate breakfast in the hotel. NOTE: the guide in our room said breakfast was at 11am, but it is actually at 10:30am! We barely made it in time, but the dining room staff were not put out and allowed us to partake even as they were preparing for lunch. They even offered to grab items from the buffet for us so we wouldn't have to rush, an unexpected kindness. The buffet was approx. $13 and was quite good. Lastly, for those who complain that this hotel is too far from local attractions: A) There is a FREE trolley that stops on the street IN FRONT OF THE HOTEL. It makes stops at most of the major downtown attractions. B) The Chattanoogan is 1 mile from the Aquarium, 2.5 from the Zoo, 2 from the National Cemetery, and only a 15 minute drive from Ruby Falls.
Nice lobby, decent room. Location isn't great if you want to walk to attractions in downtown.
The atmosphere was really great and we had no problem getting anything we needed from the front desk — even someone to come up with a bottle opener for beer we'd purchased. The breakfast served was amazing and local attraction tickets were also super convenient to purchase as a package. The only complaint we had was that the "king" beds are actually queens and the "queen" is actually a full size. We had two rooms so we had both and they were definitely not those sizes.
Overall very nice hotel. For the price/rating I expected a bit more. The bed was quite uncomfortable but the staff was friendly and the hotel was clean. Close to everything in town.
I just wonder if everyone has access to Google. The aquarium and IMAX are downtown and Rock City and Ruby Falls are on Lookout Mountain. There are 2 Hotels that are close to the Aquarium and the IMAX That is the Holiday Inn and Double Tree. This hotel is not bad at all there is an amazing restaurant there, there is a hertz rental car company in that hotel, A spa, live music on Friday and Saturday during warmer months I mean you cant have your cake and eat it too unless its a moon pie then by all means have at it. Not everything is next freaking door guys. Sometimes you have to go around the bend seriously Moccasin Bend. (River Gorge Explorer) to have a little fun. There are hotels on Lookout however I am unsure if they are close to Ruby Falls or Rock City but then the movie theater and the IMAX and Aquarium wont be close you'll have to come back down that mountain for access then back up it to go to your hotel in which this time of year is a tad bit more traffic cause Rock City's Festival of Lights. I will be staying at the Chattanoogan Hotel Thanksgiving night on my way back from Nashville. This hotel is epic.
This is what happens when you have a hotel that is a private/public run establishment. We just came back from a delightful wedding. Most of the wedding party was staying at the hotel. There were at least 20-30 people in the bar and out of nowhere they are closing at 12:30. Is this any away to run a business? There are comparable / far nicer places in Chattanooga that will appreciate your business. Recommend shopping elsewhere.
I was there from Sept. 17 to the 21st. I really enjoyed everything the only problem was; I thought I was paying for a suite but I had a double deluxe instead and for me, my husband and a very active 2yr old it was rather cramped. 300 sq ft is not big at all. They had 5 weddings on the 20th and not enough bell hops and luggage carts to go around for all who needed one; because of this, the valet parking got extremely backed up on Thursday and Friday when most of the guest were checking in. They had live bands and everything which was fine, no complaints here — — they were at the front lobby area and they lasted basically all night up until around midnight or so BUT when my cousin was having his wedding reception in the afternoon from about 4:30pm until 8:30pm way down in ballroom 1 &2 one of the people that work in the hotel had the nerve to come and ask us to turn down our music because it was too loud — — I felt like we should have gotten the same courtesy that the those people received on Thursday and Friday making noise well into the middle of the night. — — — — To add insult to injury when we were cleaning up that evening after the reception, I hear this loud noise coming from the lobby area and low and behold it was another live band. I just didn't see why the reception music was such a problem — — its a reception thats what people do at a reception eat, drink and be merry when there is a union between two.
Not impressed; we've been here since Friday and are checking out tomorrow. We ordered room service; no one answered and the front desk took the order. They called back to say they did not have our dessert, nor a replacement. Housekeeping came while we were gone and made the bed; they did not refresh glasses, shampoo, conditioner, etc. They left the dirty dishes and corrected my husband when he called to bring it to their attention. We just want to go home, but know we will be charged another night, anyway. My husband called and asked for an ice pack for my migraine. They said they didn't have any and that they'd send extra ice bags; we've yet to receive those, too. Our "king" bed was a queen, and they tried to correct my husband about that, also. Over it.
Stayed for two nights this past weekend for our anniversary. Unfortunately, we had a terrible experience due to being evacuated. Our anniversary dinner was interrupted by sirens, then the restaurant flooded with water from the sprinkler system. We watched water flowing out of the building from the upper floors as we stood outside during the evacuation. Our room was on the 4th floor, which was flooded. The staff ran shop vacs outside our room all night long. The Chattanoogan never offered to switch our room, compensate us, help us… absolutely no customer service. For all of our trouble, we received an "I'm sorry" from the front desk. That's it. What could have been a wonderful experience ended up being a rather unfortunate one, which could have easily been salvaged with a morsel of customer service. I am astonished and saddened by the lack of care and concern.
Very good amazing excellent service I recommend.
Loved this hotel! Great location and room! Loved the pool, hot tub, sauna, and steam room. And the outdoor fireplace!
Our second time here, great staff, great room, beautiful, highly recommend.

The food and beverage staff were great. And the hotel itself is quite nice. But our group had a less-than-satisfying experience with check-in services. There appeared to be a shortage of staff for that function. The desk was often unoccupied, and special welcome snack baskets scheduled to be delivered to our rooms by the staff could not be delivered. The desk staff was supposed to offer the baskets on check-in instead, but forgot. And one (mine) was lost by the staff. Apologies were made, and we moved on. But it was not the hotel’s best showing.
