Yes all of that and great food they allow dogs.

So we stayed here first night was ok but after we got back to the room after the 2nd day there was a horrible smell and we couldn’t find out what it was from. Complained to the front desk and we got to move rooms. When we did a final check of our old room checking for all our stuff my wife found feces in the closet. It wasn’t there when we checked in so a human that had access to our room came in and left us a nice present. Not once did any hotel staff try to resolve the problem or apologize and comp the room. Worst hotel experience ever. No manager available on the weekend and hotel front desk was not even interested in contacting them.

The hotel is way understaffed. We were told to call the front desk to let the valet know when we needed our car. For our entire trip, there were only two instances where someone actually answered the phone at the front desk. So we would end up going straight to the valet area outside and at times had to stand and wait 15 minutes or so on a valet to show up to help us. Also, when returning to the hotel, we would have to circle the hotel numerous times until a spot in the valet area opened up for us to pull in. Then we would have to stand on the sidewalk and wait 10-15 minutes, sometimes longer, for a valet to show up. Guests are not allowed in the parking garage at any time so we couldn’t go get our own car.
Halfway through our trip, our room had not been cleaned. I saw a lady in the hallway who was cleaning another room. She told me she couldn’t give me clean sheets because my room number wasn’t on her list. I went to the front desk to ask why our room wasn’t being cleaned and was told cleaning service only comes when you ask for it and you have to ask for it by 10:00 the day before. Yet we were not told this when we checked in. That would have been good to know. I told the lady that I needed clean sheets as our son spilled something on his. She tried to call housekeeping, and no one would answer the phone. She asked the valet to go up to housekeeping and tell them to take sheets to our room.

Keep your receipts and check your bank statements if you eat at the restaurant. They change tip amounts and don’t expect you to catch it! Beware!

Front desk customer service was terrible. I will highlight someone by the name of Tyler. My 18 year old and her best friend having a nice 2-day getaway in Charleston didn't realize that they would not be allowed to check-in because they are only 18. I always traveled at this age and did not encounter this, so I had no idea. I understand hotel policy, however what I don't understand is how they handled it. Long story short, no one tried to help them find another place to stay, told them that there were no other hotels in Charleston Historic District that would allow anyone under 21, indicating that there are too many restaurants with bars! The irony is that they are staying next to the College of Charleston! So I find a hotel 5 blocks away from the Holiday Inn, and I call back to inform Tyler that he was completely wrong and should direct others correctly. He didn't want to hear what I had to say and hung up on me twice! In addition because I called, he told both my girls to leave. Hotel Management. Please train your front desk personnel to care about customers, and about people in general.

Left this hotel for one in a far better area for same price. Stay away, this is basically in the Ghetto. Pay the extra 10 a night for one further down meeting st. Plus their is nothing around this area. Their is so much trash and broken glass. The hotel is disgusting and nothing was acceptable in cleanliness. Not to mention homeless scum, and cars booted daily in the dirt lot behind the hotel. Across the street is a hand out for junkies. don't think you'll get a break on parking. Valet charges for every time they get your car. No flat rate. To top it off, their is a parking Garage right beside the pool.

For a hotel in the "historic" district… it was anything but. This hotel had a contemporary feel and modern amenities. Even though my family and I went to the beach instead of using the pool, it still seemed very well kept. Overall the hotel was very clean (linen, bathroom, windows, sheets, hallways, lobby, etc). The staff was very friendly and helpful. We've never been to Charleston and were given awesome recommendations by several staff (FYI: California Dreaming is a must try). Overall we had a great stay.

Good location in historic downtown. Nice rooms. The top covers are always so thin on Holiday Inn beds. They need an upgrade to a duvet or heavier comforter, but that's a gripe about the chain in general. This actual hotel was very nice and seemed newly renovated. Great fitness center and front desk staff.

This place overall is good. Try to book your room in advance you get a better rate. Hotel was clean, the beds are awesome and so are the staff! The parking is valet and they are there 24hrs. The hotel offers a bar, restaurant and much more. You’ll be right behind King st and it goes on for miles with restaurants and shops galore.

Conveniently located next to Kings St and about a mile or so from the market. Rooms are clean and hotel is well kept. At $26 per night parking is a bit high but in downtown there are only so many options.

Nice place, free breakfast was good. Had vallet parking for overnight in secure garage which was nice. Is on farther end of walking distances to market if going that far.

Modern, updated rooms. Large walk in shower, comfy bed. Friendly staff. Hotel located 5 min away from restaurants, bars, lounges, and shops. About 40 min walk to the Battery Park. One downside was the room was a little musty as we initially walked in, but it's probably due to the high humidity of the region.

Good luck with check in. We were informed at 1pm that check in was at 3pm and our suite would be ready. We went and looked around the city until about 10 after 3 came back and guess what? Correct, room still not ready and after about 35 minutes, several calls and a couple of trips upstairs, finally ready. Just keep your expectations low if you decide to stay here.

My family and I recently spent two nights at this hotel, and while the rooms were pretty clean, we lucked out both days and had the pool to ourselves, and the on-site restaurant was great, that's where the positives stop. The only parking provided to you is valet, which may sound nice, but for $26+ a day there was no way to personally get anything out of my own vehicle, and if they are booked, there's a wait for them to bring your vehicle to you. It's pretty annoying. The hotel is on the edge of the historic district, so anywhere you want to go, other than one museum, is a haul. A very long haul with children. Also, I guess because it is so far away from the center of the historic district, there were numerous homeless people hanging out at the gas station and bus stop right across the street… Nothing like having a homeless woman yell at you from across the way, or having some random shady person come right up to you, right outside the hotel lobby door, asking you for things. The first night there we were subjected to a drunken couple being dealt with by the police in front of the hotel as well, which, while entertaining, isn't exactly something you want your family to witness while on vacation. So, basically, if you're just looking for a clean place to sleep, this hotel is for you.

If I could rate a zero, they would get a big fat one! Too bad I normally give fives! They were exceptionally rude and are right beside construction. We came for surgery at MUSC. Temporarily parked cars to unload luggage under the driveway. Motorcycles came in behind me and AFTER staff were rude during check-in, staff were rude about moving cars so motorcycles could park were our cars were for the night! While I was desperately trying to get luggage in quickly, the staff called the room to complain. Motorcyclists also complained! We are gold members and have never had such "deplorable" service! Sad day for Holiday Inn Express!

I visited the hotel to wait for a shuttle to a wedding. We would have stayed there for the wedding, but the prices they were quoting us for the block of wedding rooms was higher than what I could have booked online. The proximity to King Street is great though.

This is a good hotel if you want the standard experience. Clean looking rooms, standard amenities and service. The parking is valet only and $26 for overnight, so I'd only bring a car here if you really are going to need it. Very walkable location.

Excellent location just a block from King Street. Newer more upscale hotel with valet parking included. There is a restaurant and pool onsite. It is a bit pricey compared to hotels on the other side of the river but the location and service are what you are paying for.

Relatively new facility. Facility is great but they seem to be short on staff. Getting the car from valet parking takes too long.

Overpriced, cold room, never cleaned during our 2 day stay. Could only adjust heat to a limited temp. Had to go find clean towels at 7 pm as our room was never cleaned. Do not stay here!

We enjoyed our stay here when we visited Charleston recently. It is quite a walk downtown from here, but is no issue as the FREE bus system DASH has a stop right at the hotel. Kings St is a short walk for shopping as well. Room was modern and clean. Also don't forget kids eat free.

All the best restaurants are near here, room was super clean but they don't have microwaves in the room. People are super friendly, has a nice restaurant inside but you have to valet to park here. Overall we are happy.

Toilet flush was not working. Rest all good. We had to tell the front desk about the toilet thing. And maintenance came with in 10 minutes and fixed it. Good staff and quick service. Liked it n would love to come again. Charleston is a nice place and different varieties of food, local food.

The staff was very friendly. The price was good compared to many places around for the location. Some of the stuff seems a little outdated. The carpet in the hallway was ugly. The shower was large. Two people easily fit in it. I would stay there again for sure.

Good hotel in great location. Easy walk to King St restaurants and bars. Rooms clean and well appointed. Front desk staff friendly and efficient.

Nice Holiday Inn. Standard amenities, and some unique Charlestonian touches, including a large map in the lobby and framed pictures in the rooms. Three stars for location, which is a bit north of the historic district, although area looks to be rapidly gentrifying.

Service is exceptional. Location perfect. Rooms are large and there is a library where you can work quietly (if you turn off the television). They use a cleaning disinfectant that has a discernible smell all day and night. It would be good to use something without a scent.

Very clean, nice staff in the lounge/restaurant. Only down side was we had some trouble with the temperature in our room. Great location!

Had a wonderful stay at this location. Great staff with valet service and overnight parking. Room decor was up to date with plenty of power outlets. Located is on the edge of Charleston's historic district.

Clean, comfortable hotel. DASH transportation directly across the street to take you wherever you want to explore in Historic Downtown Charleston. Friendliest staff around!

Great place, Beautiful South style breakfast.

Had a lot of trouble on Nov 2-6, 2017. Shower head pressure poor. Maintenance was supposed to fix it but didn't so we moved to a new room at the end of our first full day. The toilet didn't flush in the new room. Maintenance did fix that during our second full day. On our last full day our room didn't get cleaned. Cleaning staff that brought us some fresh towels said our cleaning person "called in" today.

Nicely appointed hotel on the edge of the historic district, great staff, and well kept rooms. Slight street noise from my room but not bad. Very close to shopping and restaurants on King Street.

My stay was fine, no issues, hotel is close to downtown and accessible to a lot of different things to do. They charge for breakfast which I don't know if that is standard but you're better off going to a place nearby.

We stayed a night at the holiday Inn Charleston. It was a tail of high end and budget. The rooms were spacious and the staff was accommodating and friendly. My only complaint was there was no hot tub or steam room.

We checked in late and the gentleman who helped us was very helpful and informative. Every staff member I saw was all smiles. The room and lobby area were both beautifully done. This is a great hotel! We will be back.

It was a good hotel the location was a little far from downtown and the staff was not something to write home about. Especially for the South where people are known to be very hospitable.

We loved this hotel, great staff, very friendly and helpful when needed. Beds were amazing, pillows were perfect. Perfect location if you want to explore downtown and it's only about 9 miles to beach. We had the best of both worlds staying here. We will be back for sure.

The area wasn't exactly what we were expecting as it was on the edge of the historic downtown area and a little rougher neighborhood, but we quickly recognized it was relatively close to many of the sites we wanted to see. The hotel itself was very nice and updated. Friendly and helpful staff. You do have to pay to use the hotel valet or find your own parking, but as parking is limited in all areas of downtown, this was not surprising and the valet ended up working great for us. We loved the second floor outdoor pool. Very private and nice!

Super clean, great location in relation to shopping in historic downtown. Really enjoyed the pool, library and overall vibe of the place. Smells fresh and ALL the staff from maids to valets were super friendly and professional. … only down side is limited parking and no microwave in room. Also we bought a coffee maker cause they only had a Kurig… which I know is very popular. Will definitely return though!

The inn was very neat and set up beautifully! The staff was helpful and happy! They were not able to accommodate for parking with a trailer but we're still helpful in finding us parking!

The restaurant manager definitely has to be the hardest working woman ever.
She did a full buffet by herself. This was two days before the hurricane hit. She made sure that the guests that hadn't left yet were taken care of. She then turned around and did breakfast for them. She wanted to make sure everyone had a meal before they evacuated.
Understand she is the manager not the chef!
Food was great! She was awesome, with a great personality. Awesome people skills.
Holiday Inn and the Meeting Room and Tapas Bar are extremely lucky to have her!

The staff is extremely helpful and friendly, my room is amazing and very clean. I would definitely stay here again for other trips to Charleston.

Rooms are updated. Construction on both sides of the building. I heard banging before 7 AM this morning. The reason I gave 3 stars and not 4? Parking. The hotel has 3 metered parking spots on the side and a valet parking system that costs another $19. I don't want anyone in my car, and I want to be able to come and go without feeling the need to ask for my car.

Average. Updated rooms are nice. They need to improve the draperies to block out the light. Checkin is 3:00. I was there at 3:00, I had to wait until 4:30 for my room, which is unacceptable. I was there 3 nights. The housekeeping was best on the second of 2 cleanings. The first was asking what we wanted done-seemed to be trying to get out of any work. She was in the hall each time I passed by, not cleaning a room, engaging in conversation with guests. Staff was helpful. There is new high-rise construction on 2 sides of the hotel and they start early — very noisy. Heard what was probably a dumpster being moved at 4:30 AM. Beep-beep of truck reversing, then big thuds of dropping a dumpster.

The staff was great. We had a couple small needs and they filled them without hesitation. The breakfast was wonderful. Great place to stay.

Great hotel, great location and awesome rooms!

This is a hotel that seems to be geared more towards the business traveler rather than a tourist. Not ideally located for attractions, but is near restaurants on upper end of King Street. Room was a bit dirty on check-in, but housekeeping seemed to do a better job the next day. Pool is nice, but shallow and there is just a lack of good views from most rooms on the property.

I wasn't actually staying there, just meeting some friends that came into town. But the efficiency of their valet service was impressive.

Good location and clean. First day they sent people and maintenance into our room on accident when we had the dead bolt on and we were taking a nap. They did offer champagne for the room but we declined given I was pregnant. I had to ask literally 4 times for an extra pillow. Then we looked at our bill and they charged us $19 a day for parking although we had no car. I don't usually write reviews but wanted to forewarn people to check your bills. I think we ran into some bad luck since everyone there seemed very nice but did not have a great experience none the less.

Concierge was incredibly polite and helpful. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Only issue is front doors lock and it wasn't clear to use the cards to ever enter.

My wife's $300 Oakely Sunglasses were stolen out of the room. We called the manager and he more or less told us that we most likely lost them and they were not stolen. They were definitely stolen and we know 100% that we left them next to the coffee maker on the table. I highly suggest that you not stay at this hotel because they are thieves and the management will not help you in getting your STOLEN items back. They should do a better job at doing background checks and keeping an eye on their house keeping staff. They even know the woman that was I. Our room but said she left for the day. Very condescending mangers running this place.

Staff were the best thing about this hotel, extremely friendly and responsive including valet. Location was second-walking access to King Street and the Market (if you are willing to walk a little further). There is also a grocery a block away, so I liked that. HOWEVER, I found the place to be generally dirty once you got past the lobby. The hallway was filthy-needed a vacuum desperately (piles of random debris and hair that was very visible for two days in a row) and had piles of dishes outside doors that were there for my entire stay. The tile area in my room left the bottom of my socks grey and dingy, the closet floor was visibly dirty, and the corners of the floor in the bathroom were gunky and had hair in them. There was also a ring on the bedside table that I figured MUST have been a set in stain right? Nope, came up easily when I buffed it with a washcloth. Overall, I found myself questioning the cleanliness of everything after seeing those issues, which means I wouldn't make this first choice in the future.

It was a pleasant stay. I arrived for a business trip and took my wife with me. The free trolley that arrives across the street every 15 minutes, makes up for the distance downtown; its really not that far to walk except all the way to White Point Garden. The rooms are spacious, internet connection is good, and staff is wonderful. They have an internal restaurant that's moderate in price serving both breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The the second floor provides another area to meet others outside of your own room. It has a public meeting room, library, decent gym with dumbbells, and an outside pool and spacious deck; would've been awesome if the pool was heated! If you're looking to save a few bucks but still be within Historic downtown and close to the highway heading 26 north or 17 west bound, this place is it. Only downside: The parking was about $16 a day but given all the construction, it was the safest and fastest means.

Everyone was friendly the valet parking which handy clean hotel.

While the hotel is what you would could standard among new Holiday Inn hotels, the people working at this hotel are just magnificent and friendly. The staff goes out of their way to give the customer 5 star treatment. The wife and I had a large destination wedding in Charleston and had about 120 guests here one weekend in October. We did not hear one complaint from anyone about the accommodations. There are fancier and much more expensive hotels further down in the Historic District but this place is a short walk to every attraction and restaurant. I highly recommend this place to anyone.

Love, Love, LOVE this Holiday Inn in Charleston! The manager and staff made our stay most personable and gave us excellent tips on where to eat and sight see! Great location (close to all the happening spots) and modern amenities were breathtaking! Clean, chique and awesome room service.

This is a Wyndam Hotel in disguise. Great hotel and affordable by Charleston standards. Would return again! Some people are confusing this hotel. The hotel is only 1 year old so some of these reviews do not belong.

What a disappointment! Not convenient. Used to stay at the classy and upscale Mills House which was the HI~ fantastic and historic, in a great location! Why they sold out is beyond me. THIS IS NOT CENTRAL to where people want to be. Modern? in one of the most historic and gorgeous cities in the U. S. You really messed up here Holiday Inn! Just another stamping out of a mediocre and blah hotel in not a very good area.

This new Holiday Inn Hotel in Historic Downtown Charleston was just wonderful for our weekend getaway from the kids. The staff was all just amazing, the facilities were great, and I loved the newness of it all. Thanks for your southern hospitality.
