Very nice LaQuinta, Easy to get to location. Nice views of marina just over the highway bridge from downtown. Free shuttle. Easy walk to end of parking area to scenic California Dreaming Restaurant again with beautiful harbor views. Be sure to ask for room with a view. Pet friendly.

Front desk staff very friendly and helpful. Hotel is very pet friendly. Rooms are very nice, clean and spacious. Very up to date interior. Would recommend to others and definitely stay here again!

I was here along with my JROTC group. Although there was no refrigerator or microwave in the room I was staying in and I brought over perishable food, the front desk allowed me to use the employee refrigerator with no charge! Later on, my group was having pizza but I’m a vegan so I couldn’t eat the pizza; which made me buy two bags of chips. As I was making my purchase, one of the ladies was concerned as to why I was buying the chips and not eating the pizza; I told her my reason and she then gave me a list of places that deliver—so I was able to order my vegan pizza! This was a pretty good hotel.

Really nice people. Rooms were okay, not great. I didnt like the pillows. Nice pool. I liked the breakfast.

Clean rooms, beautiful view. The pool is nice and the front desk has been helpful. Only compliant is that we were provided a crib with no bedding, just the plastic-y mattress. Housekeeping gave us a regular fitted sheet to use.

This hotel is right across the bridge from downtown charleston and is near the road that leads to Folly beach. It is also located right next to the restaurant and bar, California Dreaming. As for the hotel there were a bunch of people in the lobby both times and the pool was pretty busy on a Monday afternoon but everything else was great. There is a water fountain specifically for refilling bottles in the lobby and coffee is always available. Another positive was that the car port was covered since it did pour one of the days.

The staff is nice, the breakfast is pretty good for hotel breakfast, & the beds are the best ones I've slept on in a hotel. My issue was several of our rooms had not been cleaned before check-in time, people had clothes in their rooms that were left there from the previous occupant. On day 2 the person I roomed with had his bed cleaned & made up while mine was left as it was when we left at 7 a. M. & returned at 9 p. M, this happened in several of the rooms occupied by our group.

My stars are based mostly on their dog friendliness. The breakfast bar was actually fairly nice but the facility itself, speaking mainly for the separate building, was a little lacking. We stayed in the building separate from the office, by request for they dogs, but it was undergoing renovation. Our room was already renovated, with all new carpet, curtains, bedding and such, but the shower curtain had already ripped loose and was hanging down, there was no strike plate for the bathroom door and the assembly for the handicapped seat in the bathtub (we didn't need or use) was padded out from the wall with multiple blocks of slightly irregular wood. It was very much lipstick on a pig. Albeit nice lipstick. Also, the ice machine on our 1st floor was not working. Despite all of this, they are VERY pet friendly, I think every visiting dog in Charleston was there, and we would absolutely stay there again. They are trying to redo it, so I can hope that once all the rooms are renovated they can go back and clean up/touch up some of the rougher spots. Highly recommended if you have a dog and don't expect 5 star.

I love this place! I'm only 10 minutes from everything on King st. And closer to the beach. The hotel is pet friendly and everyone brings them. They also have a good hot breakfast.

Everything was great while we stayed. Room was wonderful comfortable bed and clean. Had a view of the beautiful Marina across the street. Takota was super helpful making my reservation over the phone and checking me in. Great service at the hotel. It was also pet friendly witch is a major perk of La Quinta. The only negative thing I could say would be the night guy Rob he’s nice but honestly alittle creepy in the same sense for a customer service environment. Will stay again, thanks to the wonderful staff and friendly environment!

We stay there for the rewards program and its location to my Neurosurgeon and because we're given 50% off because we're there for medical purposes. However, I wouldnt ever pay full price here, because this one isn't up to the quality standards of other La Quinta hotels. In every room we have stayed in, they've appeared clean on the surface, but every bathtub has tons of peeling paint that is a big disappointment after a long drive that is painful for me and I'd like to take a hot bath, but can't. In one room, there was dirt and grime inside the microwave and the sides of every piece of furniture were filthy.

Lucky to give them 2 stars. Everything was great until someone kept complaining of dogs barking. I had a dog. It is a dog friendly hotel. Why are people making noise complaints? It ruined my stay. I got a call last night and another this morning. I was in the room with my dog, not barking. They're concrete walls and ignorant people are going to complain of dogs barking in a DOG FRIENDLY hotel. Oh, not to mention the desk employee talked to me with attitude and a complete unfriendly tone. I'm the customer… and nooo management was available to talk to. Annoyed! Very immature atmosphere.

Good experience in general. I was a night on business. It was a very nice room. Breakfast Very good machines for waffles, in the early morning are always a pleasure. Good location. In front of a very nice harbor but many rooms overlook a freeway a bit sad.

Staff was friendly, room was nice but the showerhead could be improved. It is located on the waterfront in a marina, very pretty surroundings and a very short drive over a bridge into downtown. Biscuits and gravy for breakfast!

Great Service and Most of the property looks great. The reason I don’t give it 5 stars are because the bathtub looks horrible. Paint peeling really bad. Would complain but we are not staying very long and we done want the hassle of changing rooms. This is the worst looking tub I have ever seen. My cousins are staying down the hall and they are having issues with the plumbing. I would stay again but would check room before unpacking.

Top Notch Customer Service! Rob was Amazing! We drove in from Miami Florida and he assisted us with all of our needs! "Yes is the Answer What is the Question" attitude! Impressive! Very clean and the "Make Your Own Waffles" at breakfast was great! I definately recommend La Quinta Inn & Suites. Kimberly.

Hotel where pets and affordable prices.

Exquisite care, food acceptable at breakfast, I loved this site, also has a spectacular view.

Nice property, good breakfast. The main building has been refurbished and the second building needs it. Convienant to downtown, only one place walking distance California Dreaming restaurant. Lots of other places to eat nearby. Expensive in the summer, cheap in the off season.

Dog friendly yet clean. The part we stayed in was updated and had inside hallways. The staff was professional and accommodating. Thanks for a great stay.

We managed to come down to Charleston Durning the wonderful winter storm. Obviously no one plans for such things but the people here at La Quinta Inn and suites were all wonderful and very helpful! We will definitely be staying here again and hopefully under better weather conditions! God bless all of the staff at La Quinta Inn and suites! ❤️

There is a hotel building and an exterior building on the same property. Do not go for the exterior building. Go for the slightly more expensive interior building. The breakfast was awesome. Everything was clean. Iron worked great. Had a blast.

This place was Disgusting. Both regular and pubic hair in the bathroom and sink area. Stains on the bed sheets. Several things needed to be repaired. Not to mention the squeaking service cart passing by the room several times a night. Oil the wheels. Poor maintenance, dirty, and the staff were the noisy ones with derelict equipment.

Good location. They have two buildings. I'm staying in the older one. But it is nicely renovated inside.

I got an extra $250 charge for room cleaning after a six night stay. Reason… Cat litter and excessive debris. But they would not clean the room unless the cat was in his carrier. I can't justify leaving him in a carrier all day just for the room to be cleaned. So they cleaned one time when my husband could be home with the cat. Cleaning crew was afraid of the animal. This in a hotel I ONLY stay in because they are supposedly pet friendly. So after six days we had a lot of garbage and his disposable litter was on the floor in the bathroom. We were also out of toilet paper but I don't think they cared about that! This location had dirty carpets in the hallway, it is not located close to anything, and they charge you in the end. Be ware!

The lobby is beautiful and welcoming. Much better than what I typically think a La Quinta Inn would be. I did not stay overnight so I can't comment on anything else.

Everything was very good the front desk people were very nice, the main light switch when you walk into my room 135 did not work. I had to prop the door open to go across the room 2 turn on a light. Nice selection of food for breakfast in the area was very pleasant.

My mother and I had a great experience. It was quiet, pet friendly. Overall great.

It was an okay hotel room smaller then the pictures. It wasn't very clean, stains on wall and door. Great location not far from the beach or from downtown. Bed and pillows uncomfortable. Nice breakfast. Just not very clean and hotel seem old and a little run down.

Beds were comfortable, shower was perfect! Breakfast was delicious! The staff was so helpful! Cheyanne at the desk is so knowledgeable of the area and very professional! I hate going to a hotel where the staff doesn't smile or make you feel at home… Cheyanne is so personable and happy she is a gem to this hotel! I will be back for every trip to Charleston!

The hotel staff is pretty bad. Coming from someone who works in a hotel. The rooms are okay. Can hear everything in the hallway. All around you can find way nicer in Charleston.

The pictures on the website are a bit misleading. I prefer a room where you enter from the inside of the building not the outside and the website pictures show this. However when I checked in I found there was a second building with outside access to the room and that's where I was. Also no microwave or mini fridge?

I stayed here for 5 nights. On my second day I noticed ants, I told the front and they were going to spray the next day while we were out so the kids didn't have to smell it. The next day I left a note for the bed linens to be changed and asked for her to leave two extra towells. Then left for them to spray. I got back around 2 the note I left was gone there were still ants my bed linens were not changed and there were no extra towells. I also noticed something black on the floor behind the toilet. It was dog feces! I know this is a pet friendly hotel and that's fine. But, I didn't have a pet! So that means they didn't clean very well from the previous people. I was on this trip with my husband and children one of which was 11 months old and crawling! For the remainder of our trip she was not allowed to crawl on the floor. I asked to speak with the manager but he was not available. The girl from the front took a picture of the dog feces and that was that I never got to speak with anyone. I had ants the entire stay. I had to go get new sheets and change them myself. The next day that evening I still had ants I asked again to speak with the manager to see if they had sprayed. They couldn't tell me anything and to my surprise I couldn't speak with a manager. Very dissatisfied we left for dinner and came back to our room after they had sprayed it was so strong you could smell it before you got into the room we all had headaches. We weren't gone two hrs. No time to air out.

Worst experience ever. The room that was beooked over the phone was not the room I was given. The room they gave us only had 1 bed in it for 5 people. The only thing the guy at front desk would say is I'm sorry, I can bring a roll away bed up or I can give you a discount for a second room. He stated the roll away bed would sleep 2, ya right it's a twin size bed made for just 1 person. The first night there we had 3 people in the king bed, 1 on the roll away bed and 1 in the floor. The next day the GM gave us the room that I was told we would have when it was booked. Still we had to pay full price for all nights. The breakfast wasn't all that great either. Spend the extra $30-$50 a night and stay Some place else.

Our stay at LQ made our visit to Charleston that much better. Athena at check in went above and beyond to make sure we had the room we needed and from that point on, every time we encountered a staff member, we were not only greeted but were asked if they could do anything to make our stay better. It was wonderful. Room was clean and quiet, waffles were good and the grounds were kept clean. A big plus for us was the ability to bring our dog. He too was welcomed. We are most appreciative of the LQ chain to realize the need for accommodations for families with well behaved dogs traveling with them. The only negative from our stay was that our room DID NOT HAVE A FRIDGE OR MICROWAVE.

My family and I had an amazing time at la quinta. I really can't think of one negative thing (maybe besides a few "buffering" moments while I was trying to stream s6e9 of game of thrones on my laptop lol). But otherwise it was great. The hotel is new so everything looks aesthetically pleasing, and we were always treated nicely at the front desk. The location is wonderful too. It's right next to a marina so you can look at some really nice boats, and it's no more than a 5 minute drive to Charleston. Along with the price, you can't beat it!

An absolutely horrible hotel experience. Poor cleanliness and old outdated rooms. The pictures depict false adversizing with simply modern looking furniture. There was a lack of helpfulness from the staff. We requested more hangers upon arrival (there were only 5 in the closet). They begrudgingly brought a few more to the room that did not have the mechanism to hang up in the closet. When we asked them where the hooks were, they said that is all they could find. No one was ever present at the front desk and they would never answer the front desk phone. One time after 10 minutes on hold they hung up on us. We called back. No answer after multiple calls… If you want anything you have to go down to the front and wait for someone to show up. They don't realize they should bring items to the room for you. Seems like, and probably was, just the one front desk person doing everything in the hotel. The hotel is extremely undermanned. The week we stayed was just after Memorial Day weekend. They would not open the pool or fix it in a timely matter. We had to beg them to at least bring a lawn chair out for us to lay out. They would lie and say the pool would be opened by 10 and then refuse to let people in. The back door to the hotel would not shut all the way and lock unless you pulled it really tight. Felt unsafe staying in a hotel anyone could access. Worst continental breakfast We we have ever had. Unprofessional kitchen attendant blasted music during.

Nicely decorated room — described as Executive. However, we were housed in a separate block that was more Motel in style. The door was not weatherstripped/sealed properly and thus we could hear everything outside. Very easily fixed? The walls were not thick either. Despite that we had a comfortable sleep. The two mornings we stayed there were coach parties and we could not get good access to breakfast — particularly somewhere to sit.

Hotel was clean and the rooms were spacious. Also the location of hotel is 5 to 10 mins from historic dowtown Charleston.

The location is great. Just a 5-10 minute drive and you are in the heart of downtown. Staff was very attentive to our needs. The rooms are nice. 4 stars only because the breakfast is a bit lacking.

5 Stars! My daughter's wedding and guests received First Class Treatment. The rooms and views were beautiful! The staff were pleasant with excellent customer service. Thank you to the staff and general manager for a wonderful experience and understanding all the excitement that comes with a wedding. Thank you soooo much!

I'm not a very picky person & God knows my husband isn't. Lol. However, we both agree on this review I'm giving. We've had no TV at all & we've been here for 2 days. The Wi-Fi doesn't work either. We stayed in room 354 & the room was good & very clean. The people that work here have all been very nice. Front desk wasn't helpful. All they could say is that they've been having issues with service provider. The 3rd day we are here, the TV finally works but still no Wi-Fi. The people that checked into the room beside us had dog crap left in their floor. House keeping did come & clean it though. WAY to many dogs here! I'm an animal lover but this is rediculous! We've had 2 experiences today where someone's huge dogs come barking at us like they were going 2 attack. Some dogs just bark all the time in rooms. So if you don't mind staying in a kennel then this place is great! There are dogs on every floor it seems & in both buildings! No joke. 1st time I've stayed at a LaQuinta & the last due to this experience. Oh & breakfast. Cold cereal & a doughy tasting waffle. It just doesn't cook the waffle correctly. Beds are good. I definitely wouldn't recommend this place due to the extreme amount of animals.

Worst La Quinta we ever stayed at. It started with a delay in our checkin due to computer problems… lasted almost an hour. Wi-Fi didn't work and neither did the telephone in the room. Breakfast times weren't adjusted to holiday times on our federal holiday stay, which affected many guests (6:00AM to 9:00AM instead of 7:00AM to 10:00AM). The only computer at the lobby didn't work. We couldn't get a room in the first floor even though we had our two small dogs. On an only good note; rooms were clean and recently remodeled, staff was courteous, and we got a free one hour late check out. We'll never stay here again though. La Quinta lost a lot of cool points on this one.

My husband is there every week with his work can't ever get them to bring a microwave or fridge his company spends lots an lots of mo ey there Wi-Fi never wrks it smells they dnt wash the top blankets unless the dirt is noticeable there all rude, never clean his room never leaves enough towels an wash cloths it's horrible.

Nice place. Clearly had been renovated to suit a modern taste. The breakfast is included. Extra cost for window with the water view of marina. Clean surfaces and staff is respectful and practical. Competent workers and clean environment. The walls seem thin because I can hear the person next door. The air conditioning reads a loud 80 decibels in the room during operation. Breakfast is waffles, drinks, few dry goods, yogurt, fruit cup and cereal.

Room ok so far but we have been put on 4th floor with dogs. I love dogs but a barking dog 2 doors down and a dog whining/scratching at door to get out is not what I paid for.

Pretty avergage but clean. We did have ants in our room though but we were promptly moved and the room was dealt with, these things happen so I wasn't too bothered. This La Quinta has two guest buildings, one for those without pets and another for those who'll be traveling with their pets. When we first made reservation for 5 days, we indicated we would bring our dog, not an issue with La Quinta, same rates applied to our choice. The room was pretty bad, it had two double beds and reeked of cigarette smoke and something else, not sure what. We stayed two days & found a local doggy day care & boarding, it was tough not seeing our doggy for a few days, but when we switched buildings, it was like night & day. A spacious room with a king size bed, 4th floor over looking the marina, it had a small refrigerator, a microwave and a nice clean updated modern bathroom. The staff was great, from the front desk to the ladies who took care of the rooms / laundry, to the gentleman. I'd recommend to those who want to bring their pets, find a local day care.

My husband and I had the experience of staying at this Inn, It was the best I have ever had, The staff was extremely helpful to us. The continental breakfast was awesome. Kudos to each one of you. They have a fine General Manager. He goes beyond the call of his duties to make sure you are comfortable and your experience is one you will never forget, The rooms are very clean and inviting. The best rest I have had in a very long time. Thank you to all the staff that works so hard to make this a pleasurable experience,

At first, it seemed like a nice hotel from the outside, that was until we walked up to our new rooms with the door already opened, the beds not made, and the last guest's garbage on the floor. Worst of all, there was an un-flushed toilet. I was mortified. It took almost an hour for our rooms to be prepared and when we went to sleep we discovered the sheets were dirty and had not been cleaned. Also, there was a huge hole in the bathroom.

Absolutely the worst hotel staff I have ever experienced. Waited over 3 hours past check in time for my room to become available. Hotel staff rude, incompetent and completely unwilling to help in anyway. I will absolutely never stay here again. Almost every guest this weekend had problems from overbooking, staff being rude, and staff completely unwilling to help any guest. I even spoke with the hotel manager who completely blew me off. If I could give negative ratings I would.

Found a roach crawling over the dresser by the TV on my last day here. That's just gross. Board of Health closed the pool! It's one thing if there's no lifeguard. The board of health said it's not safe to swim. How is that not information not given. It's not that I booked here just for the pool but it's high 80°'s and humidity is close to 90%. The room… It's a room. Wi-Fi does not reach my room but was told it would. It Smells a little weird. The shower has great water pressure though. Parking isn't bad. Views are non-existent. Pet friendly but don't worry about picking up after your pup. No one else does. Breakfast… It's nothing special. It is included so you might as well make the best of it.

Best things are the location on the water and good parking. However, not enough to give it a good rating. The motel (it's a motel) is out of date, poorly maintained, and dirty. The cockroach crawling up our wall the morning we checked out was the icing on the cake. While we've had good luck overall with LQ in different parts of the country, IMHO, this location is one to avoid.

HORRIBLEEEEEE! Stay away! I was locked out of my room for 24 hours with my car keys in the ROOM I WAS LOCKED OUT OF! Worst experience EVER! Oh and did I mention this was on New Years Eve? Worst place in Charleston.

Honestly I wouldn't even give this place one star but to give a rating at all I have to. The first non-smoking room I checked into reeked of cigarette smoke. The desk clerk came up to the room and showed me several other non-smoking rooms, all smelling of varying degrees of cigarettes and even admitted to me that the workers that stay there often smoke in the non-smoking rooms. I ended up in the most tolerable room but was still unable to breathe. The hotel wouldn't refund my money but did finally send a air purifier up to the room which did little good. At breakfast the first morning, the staff member who appeared to be responsible for the breakfast area upkeep played on the guest access computer and the breakfast supplied ran out and a huge mess was all about. On Thanksgiving, our room was not cleaned but we were not informed that it wouldn't be (I did notice a sign at the desk that evening AFTER the fact). Each night of the stay, my key was locked out and I had to get it reprogrammed. On the final night (Thanksgiving) it was late and I trudged up the stairs (no elevators in this place) to my room to again be locked out. I called down to the desk to see if a key could be brought up and was told no, so after trudging down to the desk grumpy child in tow, the clerk wasn't there. After waiting he bustled in claiming he took the key up to me, funny since he just refused over the phone to do so.

The hotel is a little dated but clean, but the breakfast is poor and leaves alot to be desired for the price of the room. We are LQ elite members and have stayed at some great looking to cross the country.

My wife and I stayed here for 3 days this week. We were fine with everything this hotel offered. We requested the main building and we suspect the issues may be in the seperate building because we did hear complaints from people who were over there. We only heard a dog once and room was not recently smoked in. Bathroom, as in any hotel was where the issues were. Not clean especially around the toilet. Breakfast was next to nothing and I actually brought my own food the last day. Coffee was horrible and orange juice machine was tempermental. Location was great though. We did not use hotel shuttle based on reviews and actual complaints from people staying while we were there. One couple told me they were left to rot in the city because the shuttle dropped them off and never returned, it cost them 20 bucks for a cab back to the hotel after they had already paid for shuttle. Restaurant California Dreaming is right down the road and a good choice for dinner if you dont want to leave the area. They have a bar but close way too early. Area was safe and peaceful. Pool needed cleaned but water was comfortable. Would stay here again because we liked the price and you get what you pay for.

Where to start? Our room smelt like a wet dog. We had called 2x the week before we showed up to make sure they could acomodate an early check in and were told that they could. We showed up and they said that they could not. After making a point of how dissapointed we were they got us a room. The room smelt like wet dog and there was dog hair all over the sheets! The main computer in the lobby that was available to everybody had an inappropriate picture as the logo picture. All in all it was not a pleasant stay. The staff were friendly and the breakfast was put out every morning and was decent but the smell in the room itself was enough to make sure I never stay at another La Quinta Inn.

Decent price in great location. Approximately 5 minutes from downtown. Parking is terrible, especially for this time of year with spring break. Room was clean. Water was warm, not hot for showers. Double full sized beds instead of queen sized. No mattress covers on beds. Beds are lumpy. Free HD cable channels with free Wi-Fi. Located on beautiful scenery/marina. Overall, a decent hotel for a family on a vacation.
