An oceanfront room complete with a fireplace and a private jacuzzi tub on the deck. What more could you ask for? Well The Channel house thought of even more. There were so many special little touches, like 2 bottles of wine (for an extra price) and wine glasses, chocolates, warm fresh-baked cookies, two water bottles in the fridge, bath crystals for the spa tub, bath robes, and they even had music playing for us in our room when we arrived. It was perfect! They also have a journal located in the room to record your experience and read other's as well. They keep a copy of Gerry Frank's Oregon in a drawer which is a good read. You are also within walking distance of both restaurants and shops. The only negatives… We stayed in the Spouting Horn room which was small and didn't have usual amenities like a coffee pot or a microwave. It also has a light post that slightly mars the view. We usually stay in larger hotels with more anenities, like a pool, coffee pot and microwave in the room, larger rooms, free hot breakfast, and for a lower price than we we payed here. Not sure if it was higher because of Spring Break. We payed $232 plus taxes and fees. But with that said, The Channel house has a unique charm with a cozy bed and breakfast feel. The staff were friendly and the continental breakfast was superb and beautifully displayed in the breakfast room which has a cozy atmosphere complete with fireplace and oceanview. The lady that does the baking was very friendly and gracious. The coconut cake was the best I've ever had. My only recommendation would be for more protein items. Thank you Channel House for a wonderful stay. We will definitely be back.
