When arriving at the motel the lady at the check-in desk was one of the most helpful and nicest people you will meet. You are met and greeted with a smile in the check-in area with a clean smell and clean area. The room was clean and bathroom shower is amazing with hot water that lasted for awhile. Beds are very comfortable overall great stay and would stay here again. The carpet will need upgraded soon but it’s just older was still clean.

Very Rude and bitter Roz Longo Front desk personnel has absolutely no people skills whatsoever. This hotel is located with a convention center and a museum directly in front of it. She came outside to the parking lot screaming at my friends and I because we parked and were not Hotel guests. We kindly asked her to calm down lower her voice and speak respectfully about the matter we were not instructed otherwise and were unaware of the parking issue. She completely ignored us and continue to threaten and be rude. When I asked her for her name she walked away I told her to drop her attitude and she refused. After writing down over 10 vehicles license plates some of which I saw were hotel guests she stalled back in the hotel I told her I was going to say something about her attitude and that she shouldn't have the job she does. She said that she would love to quit and I can have her job. I think she needs to be terminated or go work at waffle house. I have all of this on video and would not like to release it but will if something is not done.

Literally the worst experience I’ve ever had with a hotel. I arrived tonight, about an hour ago to check in for the evening. The lady at the front said “Oh sir your reservation was moved to Leland, NC”. WHAT?! I showed her my reservation for this location. She states, “Yes but I have a note from the manager that we moved you cuz we overbooked so we don’t have no room. ” WHAT?! In summary, they overbooked, MOVED ME TO ANOTHER TOWN, and never told me. No email, no phone call, no text message — nothing. Absolutely unreal. Not only will I never use them, I will tell my co-workers and report it to my travel management company.

The people who work here are very friendly and helpful. The room as well as the view is fantastic.

This place is WONDERFUL and I highly recommend it to everyone! First of all I just want to say I love the staff here. Every single person is SO friendly and helpful here. I want to give a shout out to the front desk African-American lady working the evening shift who was SO kind to my sister and I. Made me smile as soon as I walked in the doors. She also told us about the two cute cats that walk around outside the hotel. I wanted to tell her manager about how wonderful she is, but I don’t know her name. The actual hotel itself is beautiful, and the rooms are really nice and clean. I loved the shower. The location is SO perfect—right on the beautiful river walk and close to everything downtown. I can’t say a bad thing; I truly enjoyed my time at this hotel. Thank you thank you thank you!

I picked this hotel because I was looking for somewhere with good reviews and was within a certain price range — and ended up hitting the jackpot. I won't be able to give my opinion on the regular rooms because they had to give us their beautiful Tower Room for the reservation price online when they ran out of the type of room I had reserved. It was wonderful. The upper loft had views of the Cape Fear River and the USS North Carolina and the fold out couch downstairs was perfect for our two kids. There were also flat screens upstairs and downstairs, but we spent all of our free time at the Train Museum that shared the hotel parking lot and looking for and eating at one of the restaurants within walking distance along Wilmington's River Walk. We also took a quick tour of the small, but fun Museum of the Bizarre. Co-curated by a man called Red Eye, this place has an interesting collection of oddities from the past as well as some unique horror movie memorabilia — with a couple "dark" objects thrown in for thrills. I strongly recommend popping in for a look and maybe a chat if you have some time. The continental breakfast was served until 10am the next morning and was one of the best I've had to make use of.

Stayed here for a few nights on the tail end of our vacation. Riverfront hotel within walking distance of downtown. Hotel has it's on outdoor pier and boat dock. Can see USS North Carolina from pier. Continental breakfast was hot and freshly prepared. Hotel also provides free copies of USA Today during breakfast as well. Staff was all very friendly and courteous.

This is a great hotel! My husband and I stayed here last March and we loved it! We had the best view of the Cape Fear river and we were in walking distance to the downtown area. The room was clean and spacious and staff was friendly. It is also dog-friendly which we were fans of. I definitely recommend staying here! You just can't beat the location.

Great place. Convenient to Riverwalk. Very clean and comfortable. I would suggest getting a suite to give extra stretching room if you plan to spend time in the room. If you prefer swanky, choose another hotel. I loved the shower with the rain shower head. My husband wasn’t so sure. Every hotel associate that we spoke to was polite and personable. Breakfast was typical hotel fare. Plenty of options. We will probably make this our go to hotel in downtown Wilmington. It was quiet and parking was easy. Views of the river are wonderful.

Stayed at the Best Western Plus Coastline Inn for two nights in June 2018 and had a wonderful experience. Staff were very kind and accommodating. Breakfast was excellent. Room was great. Views of the river were beautiful. Location was perfect and easily accessible to the many wonderful things downtown Wilmington, NC has to offer. Would highly recommend.

Great value for the location. The best part is they are pet friendly. If you just need a place to relax and unwind in a comfortable room in between activities while visiting Wilmington, this is the place. Breakfast is very good and friendly service all around. My wife and I are repeat visitors of this facility.

Had a great time at this Inn. Some of the friendliest people working there that I have ever met. Every employee that we met anywhere around the Inn spoke to us and made us feel so welcome. Breakfast was great. Even though there was renovation happening at the site, it did not interrupt our stay at all. From check in to check out, we could not have had any better stay. Thanks for everything. Will be back soon.

We stayed here for one night while attending a concert at Wilson Center. You cannot beat the location of this hotel, especially if you want to be close to the Wilson Center. The view is breathtaking from any room at this hotel. They all overlook the Cape Fear River. For this being an older hotel, it’s a nice place to stay. The complimentary breakfast was great. The employees were all very friendly and accommodating. I did not have a dog but I saw quite a few people with dogs here, which was awesome. They were doing some renovations while we were there but that did not impact our stay. With that being said, I hope they include new mattresses in their renovation because that’s the only negative I have. The beds are old and uncomfortable. I certainly hope that is something that will be changed because I would love to stay again in the future.

My daughter's wedding and reception was a wonderful success at the Best Western Convention Center. The front desk Manager, Roz, went above and beyond to help in every way during our months of planning. The Tower Room was perfect for the Bride and Bridesmaids to prepare for the wedding. Amazing Experience!

One of the better options in the Wilmington area especially for the view. Rooms were decent sized, clean and in good working order. The wife and I got a great view of the river and the Battleship from our room. Staff were friendly, hotel was clean. Breakfast left a little bit to be desired (lack of hot items, coffee was meh) but overall wasn't bad. The hotel lacks a few amenities that other hotels have in the area such as a pool and a Jacuzzi but for us, the price difference was worth it. The best thing about this hotel is location, location, location! Other than the battleship and Airlie Gardens, the wife and I walked everywhere during our stay in Wilmington. Would stay at again and would recommend.

Friendly staff, excellent value and a great location — easily walkable to downtown shopping and restaurants — and what a view! All the rooms have a view of the Cape Fear River and it’s just gorgeous. The room was clean and the property is well maintained.

This nice modern hotel is on the banks of the river with a view of the battleship North Carolina. The room was small but the wonderful service made up for this. We recommend the handicapped rooms which have a roll-in shower if you need one.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Yes there is a Marriot and Embassy right next door but you cannot beat the price and location of the Best Western. We stay here every time we come out of town and have never had an issue.

The location of this hotel made the stay great for my family and me. It is located within short walking distance of trendy downtown Wilmington and is right on River Walk. The views are spectacular especially at sunset. The hotel is a bit dated on the inside, but comfortable enough for a couple of nights.

Staff was friendly and always happy. Room was very clean. Breakfast was hot and good & staff kept all items filled and available. Grounds were beautiful and clean. Location was fantastic and river view was beautiful!

The hotel was nice and clean and the staff was very friendly. But be very careful about your charges and double check them! I also advise to book online because they will give you a higher price if you call to book on the phone. We got a price online but because we had a pet, it said to call directly. However, we were quoted $15 more per night so we ultimately booked online. The price for a pet was $20 online but they charged us $30. Thankfully we were paying attention and they took the extra charge off, saying that Best Western had changed the pet fee policy but had not updated their website. These things may have been coincidental but they made us feel that they were trying to get more money and hoping we weren't paying attention. If it weren't for that, we would have given it 4 stars. When you are a family on a fixed budget every bit counts.

The rooms were great, gorgeous view of the river. Quiet hotel, not a lot of distractions. And close to everything in the heart of Wilmington. Overall, I loved the experience.

First trip to Wilmington for me and second for my mother. We visited for her birthday and the weather was a bit cool. Two shining highlights of our trip were Bennys Big Time Pizza and our stay at Best Western Coastline Inn. We enjoyed a beautiful view of Cape Fear River from the top floor end unit where we had an unobstructed view of the river and the USS North Carolina. The room was lovely and well appointed. The concierge was extremely helpful providing places to shop and eat and a map. Anything we asked for they bent over backward to provide for us and could not have been more nice. We will definitely be back and will be advising all our friends and family to stay at this wonderful place.
*note: a free breakfast is provided as well, we just opted to wait for lunch instead.

This hotel is a good value and great location. The view of the river was nice and being able to walk to a wide variety of historical Wilmington restaurants, bars & shops was great. There as a basic continental breakfast with a few hot items, including the classic make-your-own waffle. It was fine, saved us money to spend on nicer dinner later in one of the great local restaurants and we appreciated that it was available until 10:30am. The only reason I took off a star was because the bed in our room was extremely firm and uncomfortable… even for my 250 lb husband… the bed was not forgiving at all and we did not sleep well. This could be remedied easily with a memory foam mattress topper.

The room was very clean, service great, location of hotel was perfect. Employees were polite, friendly, and helpful. Would stay there again and recommend this Hotel.

We always stay at the Coastline Inn for a festival. The staff is always friendly & welcoming. The rooms are always clean, comfortable, and cozy. We have never had a bad experience and will return when in Wilmington.

Check in was very quick. The rooms are small but very well appointed. You get a good view of the river and the battleship. Breakfast had a nice selection of cold and hot foods. I would definitely stay again!

Very friendly and helpful staff. They let me check in early which was great. Awesome Riverside view from the room. The building is dated but the rooms have been updated to a more modern style. They also provide free breakfast and parking.

This hotel is very convenient to Wilmington Historic downtown, and sits on the water edge. We had a nice view of the water. The room was comfortable for an overnight stay and the parking lot was well lit. I appreciated that the breakfast was offered until 10 am instead of the standard 9am. I do not want to wake early on my vacations.

Wonderful place to stay. If you can, give the Tower Suite a try. Grandma Wonita is a joy to meet and talk with over a wonderful hot breakfast and Roz is all sweetness. True Southern Hospitality at its finest. We will definitely be back.

Nice room with friendly staff. Everything was clean, but there were some parts of the hotel (outside the room) that needed a little maintenance. The hotel seems to be in a good area, and you gotta love the view out of the rooms, plus the boardwalk over the river off the 2nd floor!

Located downtown within walking distance of The Cotton Exchange shopping area as well as many restaurants. Beautiful river view. Civic center next door great for business meetings. Can't give it 5 stars because there is no pool and limited parking spaces. Parking for hotel should have reserved spaces apart from civic center.

Hotel in a great location and very nice staff. That being said the rooms are in need of renovations and proper cleaning. During our stay there was construction going on just feet from our window and at times was very noisy and created ground shaking vibrations. Forget about sleeping in and leaving your window treatments open. Breakfast was free and that all I should say. We cut our stay one day short because of the construction and ended up staying elsewhere.

Nice location, most rooms overlooking the Cape Fear River. Handy for the Convention Centre and the Wilmington Waterfront. Friendly staff. The free breakfast had a reasonable choice, although there is limited seating (you can always take it to your room though). Hotel is about 10 minutes drive from the airport.

Great location with downtown shops, restaurants and points of interest within walking distance. Cool train museum next door. The hotel facility is excellent with interesting architectural details but it's the staff that make this a great place to stay. Plenty of parking too. Only negative is no pool.

Great views, and super fast service. The employees were amazing. The breakfast was really great, and I enjoyed the build your own waffle bar. Within walking distance of the Historic District of Downtown. Deck out over river for view USS North Carolina Battleship.

The room was very clean with modern appliances and furniture. Parking was easy and accessible with a great central location to the attractions downtown. We had a fantastic view of the fourth of July fireworks which were set up directly in front of the motel on the river. The staff was friendly and helpful and we never had any issues with noise from other guests. Overall, this best western was our best experience with the company and we will be staying here again for future Wilmington visits.

My husband has wanted to visit the battleship in Wilmington for a few years, so we stopped here on our way back to Ontario from Myrtle Beach. We were not disappointed, we loved Wilmington and had a very pleasant experience at the Best Western Coastline Inn. The staff are extremely friendly and are more than happy to tell you anything you want to know about the area. Our room had a great view of the river and the battleship, and the included hot breakfast was a great start to a day of travelling. We will definitely visit again.

The staff is awesome and the rooms are nice. Internet speed improved quite a bit since last year. I'm not 100% sure that the room would ever get super cool during hot months.

Very pleasant stay with my two dogs. As a gay couple we enjoyed the accepting attitude of the staff.

Positives -The people and location. Other than that I couldn't find anything else good about this hotel. Negatives -The plumbing was so bad that you would have to stop showering to let the water go down or have it flood. -They used a lot of bleach that made it hard to breathe. Smelt like a pool. -The promoted River Walk, had some of the most depressing scenery that I've ever seen. -The price of the hotel is outrageous for what you get. In closing, I don't recommend this location for anyone.

Cockroaches on the property and in the rooms. Rooms smelt like bleach. The lady at the front desk was incredibly nice though. Would recommend staying at the bestwestern just outside town off the 17 and gate drive. That one is beautiful.

Good location, that's the only positive I can come up with. The room smelled of very strong bleach which made it hard to breathe indoors. The room hadn't been cleaned in years. You could write your name in the dust on the mirrors, tables, and window seals. The baseboards had a good 1/8" of dust and grim on the top. Dead roaches around the nightstand and stains on the arms of the chair. It was obvious that the overuse of bleach is meant to confuse you into believing your coming into a clean room. House keeping didn't even bother to show up the last day we were there. First and last time at a Best Western.

Excellent location on the water. It's also right next to a railroad museum. You have a beautiful view of the intercostal waters. They had an elevated walkway out took the water from the second floor. The room was a little tight for our family of four but it was clean and comfy. The A/C worked hard and we needed it since it was blazing hot outside. You could walk along the water but we chose not to because of the heat. It's close to many downtown areas.

This Best Western should be considered the "gold standard"! From the friendly and informative young lady at the front desk during check in to the housekeeper (she was originally from Raleigh) who was kind enough to help me when my little dog decided he no longer felt like walking and wouldn't move — it was customer service at its best. Throughout my stay, the staff was courteous and made me and my entire family — to include my dog-feel welcomed. Wait… there's more! It was a pet friendly hotel that did not feel as if you were taking a step down because one of your loved ones happened to have four legs. Rooms were fresh smelling and clean. The grounds were also in great shape with doggie bags and disposal containers nearby. The breakfast was your normal fare. Nothing spectacular, but something to hold you until you make it to one of the many great restaurants nearby.

The rooms are a little dated for the price, but the location is great. Close to historic downtown (a block or two walk). Right off the river walk. The staff were pleasant and helpful. Overall a good stay.

Not a bad place, conveniently located near the end of the river walk. 2 blocks from downtown, easy to walk. Plenty of parking, would stay again.

Wonderful location at the water, great rooms, delicious breakfast with all you need — even seating outside possible. Pet and child friendly, good price and included all we needed for our 2 night stay in the area for our family. Beautiful boardwalks to enjoy view at day and nighttime. Railroad museum and big engines outside right next to the hotel to enjoy for our 3-year-old train fan. Boat dock close. Would definitely stay there again.

It was great, right on the water. The rooms were spacious and comfy and the view was fantastic. The reception was wonderful. We also enjoyed the mural on the wall and the river walk.

The room was clean, hotel in a great location. The whole family enjoyed the stay at this hotel. We even saw fireworks shot off over the river.

View was great. We were there to see the ship so the view was a bonus. Room was decent size. Service was great. Clean rooms. Continental breakfast was decent. We had only planned on one night but there was so much to do close by we stayed three. Would recommend.

The staff were all very friendly. Pets were allowed and they provided my pet with a doggie treat upon arrival. My room was very clean. Breakfast area was clean and food offered very fresh! Loved the coffee! Will definitely stay again.

They allow dogs. I am not a huge fan of hotels but this one was fine. The breakfast was "normal" and had good hours. Not my type of food by any means but I did find a banana and oatmeal. Some people may enjoy the processed Jimmy Dean's sausage egg & cheese biscuits or the "juice". Get a "suite" if you have 3 or 4 people in your crew as the other rooms are pretty tiny. I didn't explore too much — I just needed a place to crash. For a hotel, it was clean enough for me, the staff was nice, the air conditioning worked, the Wi-Fi was bearable, and my dog was happy. It was good enough for me to go back a second time. This is an older hotel that was updated a few years ago. If you want a really nice place you'll want to shop elsewhere. I did find this place exactly as advertised though, which makes me happy. Great view of the river, too. Good bang for the buck.

Do not be fooled by reviews because this place is not worth the price they charge. I reserved a room at 150 a night with 2 queen beds. The room does not look like anything they advertise on the site. The room and bathroom are quite small, something you would consider as a guest room in most house, the beds are actually 2 full ones but they advertise as queens and you barely have room to walk around another person. Guest service is ok, however they had a random fire alarm go off at 5 am when I was there and stayed on for 15m and pretty much ruined my sleep. One other thing was how old and smelly these sheets are, they tend to not clean someone else's towel if they are not on the floor and not change guest sheets to "save energy". The worst part of the stay was the claim that most of their beds are tempur-pedic and that can not be so far away from the truth, these mattresses are hard as a rock. On the up side, their breakfast is good and it's close to downtown.

I have enjoyed my stay. Beautiful views, very clean and updated rooms, comfy king bed, wonderful hot breakfast, nice gym! And the staff yesterday and today and been so welcoming, friendly, and polite. This will be my go to hotel for business in Wilmington.

I Dont know why the reviews are so positive. For the price you pay to stay here it is def not worth it. Room was tiny, pretty nice but again small. The fitness room is also little with equipment that is very outdated and some not even functioning. Also there may be a staff member sitting in there watching TV. The elevator doesn't work well. Be prepared to climb the stairwell filled with cigarette smoke. If there is an event going on be prepared to not have a parking spot. The only good thing about this hotel is the location if you are going to want to go to the bars and want to walk back to your hotel room. Otherwise stay midd Wilmington or on the beach.

I don't know why there are bad reviews. I stay here on nov 29, 2011 and the rooms were just fine. They were clean newly remodeled and very nice. I would stay there again.

Stayed two nights in March, 2009. Best kept secret on the river! I never write reviews, but these people deserve it. Clean rooms. Close to everything! Awesome views. Nice, smiling staff. Best hotel bed ever. Very reasonable rates. After being here, I'll never stay at the local Hilton again! I will definitely be back.
