The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and well kept! The continental breakfast has a great selection of hot an d cold food.

Next to Furniture mart, clean, quiet. Plenty of good restaurants in area, discount mall just down the street Very bnice stay.

I visited the area for a business trip. This was another great stay at a HIE. The staff were very friendly, the room was spacious and the breakfast was on par with other HIE's I have visited. I would stay here again.

Rooms were very big. … unfortunately that's the only good thing about the stay. Air conditioner was so loud nobody slept, there's no pool nor was there a restaurant. My husband noticed the towels had a horrible oder to them. We are reward members and have never stayed at a Holiday Inn like this. In the morning I was sick when my son and husband pointed out the grease on the head board! I sat up in bed at night with my son and watched a movie! That made my skin crawl knowing my son & I had our heads and hair on that! Disgusting! DO NOT STAY HERE!

This HIE property is always a solid choice for a place to stay. They uphold the quality and service expected of the brand. Rooms are clean. Location is close to so much yet quiet with plenty of parking for large vehicles and those with trailers.

The place was very clean and the staff was very friendly. I will stay again in the future.

This location was almost hidden behind d shops on the main road. However, the hotel was well maintained. I can not say enough about the Kindness and friendliness of the overall staff at this hotel. The Ladies at the from desk were all so nice with wonderful genuine smiles. All the maids said a kind hello. Breakfast was good a deal well maintained. Definitely recommend this HIE!

The rooms are large and good for short business trips. Breakfast was better than I expected and check-in was quick.

Nice hotel, close to restaurants. Do not get a room with a walk in shower. There is no room to even turn around.

This hotel needs some improvement. The staff here all look like their on drugs especially the cleaners. They steal stuff out of peoples room and then when you try and talk to the manager its like she takes up for her cleaning ladies. The front desk clerk were nice and friendly. You guys need to replace management. She looks like shes on drugs too. I give them.

We stay here each year. We love the remodel. The staff is friendly and breakfast is fresh.

This is the cleanest hotel I have been to. Room is huge. Tub is huge and breakfast was plentiful and nice variety. Will definately stay here again.

I am giving zero star to this place. They come in your room even if you have no disterb sign on without any notice ahead and they call it company policy! And they don’t apologize for it either. They invade my privacy and I get no apology. What does that tell you. Also they have the worse breakfast ever!

Nice Hotel.

Very nice hotel. Rooms are comfortable and spacious. Bathrooms are nice and clean, like the shower layout. Breakfast area is nice and has a good selection. Layout is a little weird as far as where the room numbers are laid out, but that is probably me being petty lol. Like the decor and color schemes, very lively. Oh and of course the staff are friendly.

One if the better HI-EXPRESSs I've stayed at. Hotel is less than 5 years old and has very cool, chic atmosphere. And as usual, the cinnamon rolls are to die for!

Everyone was very friendly and the rooms were really clean. Was really worried when I seen our room was right next to the breakfast dining area but we barely heard any noise. Look forward to hopefully staying here again in the future.

Absolutely a clean well kept facility, however the staff could use a course in customer service. The thought to ease of transferring luggage is nonexistent. Basically a clean no frills sterile environment. I’m convinced that smiles at check-in are an extra charge!

I was in town for work I needed a reasonably priced hotel to stay at. The staff was friendly and quickly checked me in. My room was clean and the hotel has been quiet. Breakfast is what you would expect. The location is a little strange as I am constantly miss the turn and need to turn around in order to get to the parking lot. Overall this has been good experience and I would recommend staying here.

This hotel was okay. It had an odd layout that put the elevators pretty far from the lobby. The room had an odd layout as well where the closet was in the bathroom. Nothing bad, but nothing special.

I always stay here when I'm in town. Great staff clean rooms. Super nice.

Its a good hotel, nothing to complaint about, the key to the hotel doesnt really work too well, you have to scan it a few times for it to work sometime.

Stayed here twice about 6 days apart. Had a great experience both times. Large rooms with very friendly staff. Lobby is beautiful. Breakfast is above average with more selections than previous hotels I've stayed in.

Staff was nice enough. Could have done without the fire alarm going off at 1 something in the morning just after we were able to get our baby to sleep. Waiting to see if we will be getting any money off of our stay for the inconvenience of having to stand outside for a half hour in pajamas with our child.

2nd time staying here. Love it very friendly and clean. Only down fall I had this time was there was a bad odor in the halls and in the room. A scent candle was the only way I could get the room to my likings. But I would defiantly be staying there again. I only stay at holiday inn express or Hilton's.

I went there cause I couldn't drive home during this bad icy, snow, storm… they gave me a special rate because of the company I work for, rooms were really clean, they are spacious and they were really professional and courteous for someone getting there after hours, thank you so much!

The pro of the Holiday Inn Express Hickory — Hickory was excellent. The room was roomy and clean. When we needed extra blanket, it came within minutes. It is also located near food and shopping. The cons of the stay was the breakfast bar didn't have enough food for the guest that was not really early and they didn't refill the bar. The house cleaning stall need to be a little more alert and listen to the guest so they want barge in on the guest. I recommend the Holiday Inn Express Hickory-Hickory.

This is a motel all the doors exit to the outdoors! The devil is in the details. The rooms were okay. If you looked closely you"ll see the dust and dirt accumulated in the corners.

Rose was working the desk when I checked in, and she was very friendly despite the late hour. I had had trouble finding the place and called a different location first, and they called ahead and made sure my reservation was set up. The staff so far is friendly and the room seems very clean. There is an attached YMCA (apparently! ) which I will check out shortly. It seems like a nice place to stay all things considered.

We absolutely loved our stay here! Because of the price I was concerned it may be a bit run down even though the photos looked nice and my concern was unnecessary. The room was immaculate and the bed was SO comfortable. The toiletries that were provided were even surprising! The continental breakfast was great (especially considering it was free! ), it was a hot breakfast, delicious bisquits and gravy, omelets, cereal and fruits (it wasn't a 5 star breakfast but most continental breakfasts at hotels in this price range consist of fruit and cereal so I was impressed). And the customer service could not have been better. We will stay here from now on when in town visiting family. Great price, great service, great room.

This was a good value so I thought but I got a sinus infection. Ask if they have cleaned out their air conditioning since the end of Aug. 2011. The staff was great. The rooms were nice and convenient for shopping at the Furniture Mart. The breakfast was ok. The room was clean and comfortable especially the bed and I am picky.

My wife and I have always been pleased with HIE hotels, and this one was no exception. They upgraded us to the King Suite at no additional charge when they saw that we were Priority Rewards members, and gave us a free snack. The breakfast was stocked full and had a nice eating and lounging area. We were very pleased with everything about our room. Cleanliness is one of the most important things to us, and this got 100%.

For the weary business traveler needing a decent room in Hickory NC, this was a nice place to stay. Desk help was friendly, rooms were luxurious in size, TV channels aplenty, everything worked, and good eats all along the way. Nice too, was the gym, actually a real gym, located on the premises. I have stayed here on multiple occasions and would return again. The continental breakfast was unappealing, as one might expect from H'inn express locations. But there are other places, like Judge's BBQ across the street, where a decent home-cooked breakfast can be found.
