We booked a reservation on hotels. Com. We pulled into the parking lot to check in, and completely did not see the tiny sign green sign on the gate that blends in with the bushes behind it that says “no truck parking”. We drive a 26’ box truck. But once it was brought to our attention by the older gentleman from Wingate, we asked if we can park at a nearby hotel instead. He said yes, so we made other accommodations with a nearby hotel to park our truck there. My fiancé goes back in to check in to our room once we make the agreement with the nearby hotel and as soon as he walks in, the woman at the counter says to him “is that your truck outside? ” He says “yes”, she says “I’m canceling your reservation”. So naturally, he gets upset because 1) we’ve been driving for over 11 hours. 2) we were told we can park at another hotel and still stay here. But it was like she takes one look at him and decides she doesn’t like what she sees and declines our stay. I call from outside to speak with a manager, the same woman answers and claims to be the manager. Then when I ask why our reservation was canceled, she just hands the phone to a man who claims HE’S the manager. He says that our reservation was canceled because of the way my fiancé reacted AFTER he was told our reservation was canceled for having a truck.
Great hotel, shuttle was on time, they forgot our wake up call, overall great experience.
