The rooms are somewhat basic, though not in a bad way, with showers and bathroom amenities all being covered. Even the cot that was provided was very nice. For being hundreds of years old the place is in great shape. The original elevator still runs and is a cool novelty if you are in to that sort of thing, though there are only three floors so ypu probably won't be using it much. The place has PLENTY of parking and is situated in a very nice area close to numerous restaurants and other stores, some of which can be found just down the street and are easily within walking distance. Overall, I had a great experience and I very much enjoyed my stay, especially for the great price.

The Stockade In is a beautiful, old In that has a whole lot of character. It has a welcoming atmosphere with a friendly staff. The rooms are well kept with a comfortable bed, but my only complaint was that the air conditioning was a little weak. Other than that, it was a great experience!

Historic atmosphere, could use some maintenance. The mattress was rather hard, but otherwise a comfortable stay. Wish we could find more out about it's history.

The Stockade Inn is even better on an evening with live music. The staff are wonderful, super friendly & very accommodating!

Nice venue, attended for a wedding. Beautiful decor, two parking lots available. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Dinner was nothing special.

Oh this was an unexpected gem of a stay! I think we found this online and picked it for its location to the Howe Caverns which was the next stop on our journey. It is located in an adorable neighborhood. The rooms were huge and very luxurious looking. The breakfast was very nice and laid back. The best part of the breakfast was getting to chat with the innkeeper. I'm sorry, I have forgotten her name, but she was a lovely woman and very nice to talk with. She was very sweet to our young children, which is something I always appreciate.

The Stockade Inn is a beautiful historic inn located in one of the countries oldest neighborhoods. The Inn has great quirky character that can only come from age where grandeur meant something. Lots of different rooms and spaces and all unique.

Excellent service and the rooms very extremely nice and comfortable. We had to switch rooms with someone because of easier accommodation, and they made it very easy to do.

Wi-Fi is almost non existent. They really cannot handle a wedding party with range or speed. The rooms are decorated poorly and the service elevator is scary to say the least. I had to program the remote control to work with volume and power for the FiOS remote in the room. The shower head is not really able to be turned in a direction and the water when on with the door open just shoots all over the floor to make a mess. Everything is antique and old but the bench at the foot of my bed has cigarette burned in it. Definitely should not cost what it does to stay here. Compete rip off in price. Should be half the cost and would never stay here again if it wasn't for the wedding.

The bed was very comfortable. I don't know about the pillows as I always travel with my own. No idea about anything else really as I had a busy night and only crashed and showered then left. The shower was excellent. Good water pressure.

We stayed at the Stockade for a wedding that took place. It was the perfect place for a reception and was so convenient to stay right there. Our room was very large, clean and update but still kept all the character of the building. We even had a buffet breakfast the next morning thanks to the newly Weds. But definitely recommend to others, especially weddings!

Great place! we held our daughters sweet 16 masquerade party here. Good size party rooms. Food was well done with very friendly helpful staff.

Was on business trip two weeks in the hotel. It may well be good for a night or two, but for such a long time the hotel is unsuitable. My room, for example, had no closet just a chest of drawers. I could only accommodate my things with difficulty. The bathroom is newly made and well equipped. The breakfast is more of an average. Only packaged stuff. There is something else we are accustomed to in Germany. Also, the Windows should be urgently refurbished. Also, the rooms have no air conditioning, which is a problem in summer. The service is OK, the staff friendly and helpful.

Overall good experience. Rooms were clean and staff was friendly. Ordered room service and the order was wrong but they took it off our bill. Would recommend.

I was at the Stockade Inn for a friend's wedding. We stayed over the night before and the night of the wedding. The building is very old and has really great charm to it. The rooms were clean and spacious. The wedding was at the Stockade Inn as well. All staff were very professional and accommodating. The food was pretty good and a good time was had by all. The location was a plus also. There is plenty to do within a few blocks walk.

We have worked this venue several times and have not been disappointed. I would say they are perfect for small to medium size events. Food is awesome and staff rocks!

Very professional staff, although short handed, overall a good time. Easy parking and a well executed event, the management must be on a budget cut because service times were significantly lengthened.

The classic dutch colonial atmosphere surrounding and composing the inn is a gorgeous escape from the droll surrounding city.

We had an outstanding experience with The Stockade Inn for our wedding ceremony and reception. We worked directly with the owner, Jeff McDonald. Jeff was a pleasure to work with from start to finish. He and his staff went out of their way to make our wedding very special and unique to us. In the end, as detailed below, we got exactly the wedding we wanted at a very reasonable price. We highly recommend The Stockade Inn as a wedding venue! Venue We were looking for a venue that could "stand on its own" and not require a significant amount of decoration to achieve an elegant look. We also wanted a venue that had separate rooms for the ceremony and reception to eliminate the need for an awkward tear-down in between. The Stockade Inn met and exceeded our expectations. It is a gorgeous venue and has a storied history. It is set in the historic Stockade district of Schenectady that dates back to the Dutch colonial era. The hotel accommodations are equally gorgeous. We were able to block-out all of the rooms in the venue for the night before the wedding and the night of the wedding. Our guests absolutely loved the rooms. We were also able to utilize the beautiful Billiards Room for an after-party. Food Everything was delicious and made fresh on-site. The cocktail hour appetizers were fantastic. The salads were made from scratch, including homemade dressing. We were able to choose three entrees from a substantial list of choices plus vegetarian option.

My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at the Stockade Inn in Schenectady, NY from Thursday, July 17th to Monday, July 21st. While we visited Saratoga Race Course for its 2014 opening weekend. We were very impressed with many features of the Stockade Inn. It is a tastefully restored and maintained historic building with many historic architectural features and Victorian furnishings. Our room was an extra large room with two queen beds and a very high ceiling. It was well-appointed, tastefully decorated, cool, clean, and bright. The beds were firm and comfortable. Staff was professional and personable. The food — from the continental breakfast to the Lounge food to the restaurant food — was excellent! We had the Turf and Surf (twice! ), Salmon, and Delmonico steaks all of which were delightfully presented, very delicious, and followed by "a to-die-for "flourless chocolate cake! " We will return again and again! Before we left we scouted-out other rooms to reserve. Our favorites — of the ones we have seen are rooms # 30, # 36, and # 38. We are going to highly recommend the Stockade Inn to our friends and family. Wife's Birthday, six friends. Food was very good. Service as well. Great Bartender! Drinks were free poured, house wine was good as well. We had the Tuscan Veal and Chilean Bass, both were very good. The house salad is also good. Desert of Tiramisu and chocolate flourless cake, were excellant. Moderately priced as well! I've had much worse costing a lot more. Highly recommend.

Very cool hotel, it was like making a step back in time but with cable tv.

I stayed for 4 days and I thought everything was great. Room was very large and very clean. Each room has it's own TV with cable box, iron, hair dryer. Has Wi-Fi but poor reception, so they do have wired cord in room for laptops. Full Bar and resturant open Tuesdays thru Sunday. Food in resturant is wonderful! Somethings very pricey but they do offer a $15.00 menu and it is just as amazing! I will absolutely stay again! Great people and amazing staff! The owner and managers are very friendly and made my stay wonderful! Beautifully decorated for Christmas.
