Before booking a room at this hotel, I called front desk with questions. Stephanie was gracious and patiently listened to our needs. She made notes on our reservation. All was in order when we arrived! Our room, on top floor, was perfect. Breakfast''s choices were delicious and freshly prepared. Subway is short walk away. We appreciated the morning guest bags for our long days out. Best Western Plaza Hotel, Long Island City will definitely be our hotel for our next visit to NYC.

Great location in Long Island City, and easy to get to the Metro. Overall, my room was what I expected for an Aloft hotel and I had a comfortable stay. However, what led to an overall negative experience was the massive private party that was going on at night. I booked the hotel hoping to have a relaxing evening on the city view terrace after what I knew would be a long day. I mean, with city view in the name, it has to be really nice! This seemed like a perfect way to unwind, so much so that I decided to end my night in Manhattan earlier than planned to enjoy this perk. Unfortunately, I came to find out that the terrace was closed due to this party, preventing me from enjoying the view of Manhattan. This forced me to spend the evening on my small balcony, which was nice, but all I could see was the back of the main tower of the hotel — quite the uninspiring view. There was nothing posted on their website, nothing posted in the lobby or anywhere warning about this event. I only found out when I went up to the 18th floor and saw the strobe lights and drunk people. Wouldn't you want people to be advised of this closure well in advance? I emailed the front desk and Jacob the manager about perhaps considering giving advance notice on their website of such an event in the future. (I have not heard back from anyone at this hotel regarding the email… and that was sent a month ago.

Very good location and hip hotel concept (5 stars). Service needs to be improved though, associates are not trained to Aloft SOPs (1star).

I was attending a 3 day class at this location and was very happy with this place up until they would not let me extend my stay due to a snow storm that was hitting the day I was supposed to be checking out. I live over an hour away, and with the weather predictions, there was no way I could've gotten home. I'm really disappointed that they could not accommodate me, especially being that I had a room already. I wound up leaving that day and missing out in the last day of my class, because I did not want to chance not having a place to stay, so I lost out on one night that was already paid for, with no type of refund at all.

Elevators are slow and the rooms are tight, but the front desk service was great and loved the free coffee!

Definitely trying to be trendy. Reminds me of a small W Hotel (and it’s also owned by Starwood). Rooms are very small. I wouldn’t stay here again. Don’t be fooled by the bar and restaurant options at the hotel. There isn’t much too them.

Room was not that clean, and the one I stayed in was very small and tight. We received a paper with local attraction, but no map of the hotel. So I never found the ice machine and was there for 2 nights. We receive 1 wash cloth for 2 people, no towels only hand towels. Definitely not a hotel I would want to return to.

Good staff. Special big up to Ash! Room clean and the bed really confortable. Great view and gym room. Minus: toi have to pay an extra to get some eggs for example at the breakfast I recommend!

Very nice experience! Went for my second time visiting New York. Everyone was very friendly. Close to multiple subway stations. They are rebuilding in this area so the view is really only construction. But once you go to the rooftop it is all worth it seeing the bridge & all of the lights. Only 4/5 starts because you had to go all the way to the lobby to use the microwave.

Very nice hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful. Excellent location with easy access to the subway, midtown & JFK. A short ride to LGA.

We liked this hotel. It is within walking distance of the subway into Manhattan. Our sheets weren't clean when we checked in, but that was taken care of quickly and the house keeper did a thorough inspection of the whole room.

Excellent hotel is not expensive, new and a privileged view of Manhattan, near the Subway also.

We stayed in a Manhattan view room. The room was slightly small but made great use of the space. The hotel is located in a good location and can easily reach Manhattan on the subway. I would stay again.

Awesome hotel. Still has that fresh, new hotel feel. ALSO, it's like an Aloft Plus (same look, but bigger in size, more modern and cleaner design and furniture and hot food for breakfast! ). Also, there is a robot that brings you toiletries.

Conveniently located near the metro station. Looks much better now. They have decent bar and offers some easy and quick snacks for the hungry and thirsty. They now offer hot breakfast but not free though. Still a good option.

Great hotel and great location staff were very friendly and accommodating. The hotel is fresh and new. Very clean. Stayed there for 4 nights and was very satisfied. Not really expensive. Highly recommended.

New, modern Hotel with common areas offering breakfast and a terrace overlooking Manhattan. Cheaper than in Manhattan and a couple of metro stops from downtown, it has the Metro Queens Plaza practically at the door. In spite of being in a more secluded area, in front of the hotel there are several places to eat.

Great location in Long Island City. Clean, nice rooms. The balcony rooms are not worth it. The balcony is very small. The rooftop lounge is really cool. It has a great view. There's also a courtyard in the center that is nice.

If I could leave a 0 star review, I would. Here I am explaining the reason why: I made a reservation at this hotel a week prior to my Wedding since I wanted a room to celebrate my honeymoon. When I called to reserve a room, I specifically asked the representative if I could check-in at early hours since my plan was to go to the hotel after my wedding reception was over. The representative said it was fine as long as I left my credit card information to hold the room. She never explained to me that it wasn't guaranteed for me hold a room at those hours. Her exact words when I finished giving her my information were: "Ok, you are all set". On the day I went to check-in, the receptionist of the hotel; (which acted very rude by the way) told me there were no rooms available at that time. I proceeded to explain my situation to him and even gave him my confirmation number hoping that could help. He did nothing but call a supervisor by phone who started screaming at me telling me that early check-in was not guaranteed for anyone! … Like, I was supposed to know. I left the hotel feeling very disappointed and upset. They did not only fail on explaining the terms of my reservation but even treated me like if it was my fault even tough I should be the one offended. What a way to spend my honeymoon! Thanks Aloft… Your costumer service sucks! …

Modern hotel. Typical small boutique hotel room size. Great views into Manhattan overlooking Queensboro bridge. Robot staff member was cool but why can't he bring me snacks unless purchased prior. Just charge the snacks to the room, place in bot and send him on his way. Staff was nice. Place was clean. Cool decor mixed with low frills amenities. The price was good. I would definitiely stay again.

Virtually no food is offered, aside from a small breakfast before 10am. The reason I'm giving this place 5 stars is the staff. Went here to visit family for drinks. The bar was empty but very nice and quaint. We sat outside in the courtyard. There were some smokers which is prohibited. We asked the front desk to mention the rules. They took it very seriously and asked them to go out front. The outdoor space was very clean and staff was great. Great atmosphere.

I like the decor and the attention. It is located next to the metro and few stations from manhattan.

Breakfast is meager, only pastries (sweet) yoghurt. Scrambled eggs (scrambled eggs), anything meat, any vegetables, sliced sausages and/or cheese available. The view from the Windows in the building. When checking shall be recovered from the card immediately the full amount plus the money (I have over 120$) as insurance against possible damage caused by you. Promise to return, but when not talking.

Although the location is not in Manhattan but in Queens, it is still very good, and this is a very good hotel for the purpose of visiting NYC. It is close to multiple subway lines (around 5 different lines within 5 minutes walking for the hotel), which takes you to Times Square in less than 15 minutes total trip time. Since this is a newly opened hotel, you can tell that the staff is very young and inexperienced, however they more than compensate their lack of skills through helpfulness, politeness, and positive attitude. And since this is a new hotel, the amenities are pretty good as well. Maybe my expectations were too high, but there were many minor with this hotel. None of them a deal breaker, but they add up … First, there is the noise! The constant, annoying humming that comes from all the construction sites around the property. The noise doesn't stop even at night, and you can hear it in your room thanks to the average soundproofing. To make things worse, we got a room on the last floor of the second building (8 out of 8), and there were some loud fans on the rooftop. Because of the noise and the vibrations, we couldn't sleep at all in the first night. I have a pair of noise cancelling headphones and I tried to use those for sleeping, but still the noise was very strong. We complained to the staff and were moved to a lower floor starting with the second night, and things got a little bit better (but you could still hear the humming).

Interesting bar, ultra trendy and modern. Nice enough I guess, but seating is not as comfortable as intended. Liquor selection was nice, but prices are of course inflated for being in a hotel.

Great hotel for funny, by local standards, money.

A nice, clean and newly opened hotel. Really close to the subway station. Very friendly and efficient staff. To get a view over Manhattan you need to book a room on floor 8 or above. It could have a bit more noice insulation but that is not a big problem. The included breakfast is not great but it gets the job done so you won't have to leave the hotel hungry.

New hotel still into its first three months after opening. Don't have room service yet. Area is being heavily developed with a lot of construction going on and might be noisy on the weekdays. On the positive side personnel is friendly and helpful which overcomes their short staff situation. Rooms are clean and with modern design. They might be small but they're ergonomic. Who is staying for too long in a room in nyc anyway? When you're visiting the big apple you should be out there exploring all this city can offer rather staying in a room. All you need if you ask me is a goodnight sleep and a shower and that was provided successfully.

Very small but nice, hip, modem rooms. Manhattan view room is breathtaking. A bit annoyed that their website says valet parking available. You actually have to park five blocks away and do not have 24 hour access to your car. Staff is friendly and helpful. All in all better suited to young tourists than seasoned business travelers, but all in all a pretty good place.
