It’s beautiful there and a lovely area to walk.

My husband and I had a lovely stay. From the front desk, to room servicing, to the valet, we found the entire staff warm and welcoming. The champagne and cupcakes in honor of our anniversary were a lovely touch — thank you so much!

A hidden jewel in NY, perfect location, super service!

Agree with another reviewer that while this hotel is beautiful, hip and artsy, they prioritized their 12-4 AM nightclub over their guests. We stayed on the 4th floor above Rose Bar and I felt like I might as well have partied there until 4 AM because I certainly wasn't sleeping given the level of base thumping through our walls. Management should have the decency to inform their guests of this at the time of booking or check-in given the price and 5-star rating. Comping us a couple of drinks the next day was not much consolation.

What you’re reading is true. This hotel is overpriced, under-managed, and an all around disappointing case of smoke in mirrors. I’m a platinum member and have never experienced such poor service including at budget Marriott/Starwood locations. Affiliate hotel or not, Alfred — tonight’s manager — is a joke. How is it at 1am that this place has blaring music yet prides itself on exclusivity with its access to Gramercy Park? Either you’re first class or no class. My assessment of my first and last stay is that this hotel is light years away from refinement of any ilk.

This hotel was beautiful, absolutely amazing. We attended a wedding on the rooftop terrace and the skyline views were really great. If you're a fan of art, this is the place to be because there are some amazing originals from Andy Warhol decorating the walls. This is a wonderful and romantic venue, and I highly recommend checking it out!

I stayed for only one night before a job interview. Only needed one thing to work and it didn’t: the Wi-Fi. I asked the front desk and the staff promised to look into it but I never heard back. The room is large, stylish but dark. Completely agree with another review here: too much style and too little substance. Not a hotel I will come back to.

We absolutely loved the hotel, but I am not so sure what the deal is with the park. Our daughter lives a block from the hotel. We came in for 2 nights and reserved 2 rooms. We were never “allowed” to go to the park. We were told that it was closed, being maintained, only accessible to residents and last excuse “only for private events”. That definitely is not what we were promised when we booked. They made a fun place feel a little strange. Don’t advertise the park if you don’t allow guests to enjoy it. Oh and by the way, there were people in there, just not us.

Overall I was very pleased. They accommodated my request and were helpful. The room was great. One of the more interesting looking hotels inside, plush reds and velvets. It was for a romantic get away and it did not disappoint. It was quiet. I paid up for a king room with a view of the park. They upgraded me to a suite. We didn't take advantage of the great restaurant but the Jade and rose bar are cool. Guest at the hotel have access to Gramercy park which is not open to the public, one of the cooler features.

Utterly awful service — waited 25 minutes to check in. Had reserved a queen room and was given a two-double room without notification. No apologies. After spending 15 more minutes talking to the rudest manager ever, got a king room that had a crib in it. Completely disappointing experience for what is supposedly a high-end hotel. Stay far away! Update: 30 minutes later, at 12:30, after we had finally fallen asleep, the manager called our room to apologize for his behavior. At 12:30 in the morning. Unreal.

Really cool hotel with very unique vibes. Staff are super kind and helpful. Location is right in Gramercy Park, could walk to most places or just take a cab/Uber. Rooms were super nice and very cool. Would recommend coming here!

This is one of the best spaces in NYC. This is a place that is well considered and feels "special". This is a place where, even though they have a bar you can't get into, it's okay to sit in the bar you can get into and you still feel nice. The room numbers are woven into the carpet in front of the door of the room. Basically, this is the hotel that all the other hip Brooklyn-y hotels are trying to be. And, it's super expensive. Like, genuinely expensive. So, it probably can't get too crowded, which is good.

Pretty cool place. I myself find it to be trying way too hard to be trendy but I 100% see how people could find this a nice spot to chill and knock a few back. I would likely not go again unless I had another meeting.

Ate at maialino, it was not my first time there, but the waitress was really off putting. When asking for drink orders she would take one request and then not ask anyone else if they needed anything before running off. A few times we had to call her back to save a few trips. She also looked very disinterested the entire time. Was not a great experience, especially from a Danny Meyer restaurant.

A few years ago I have stayed at this fantastic hotel, with rooms reminiscent of Europe with vintage or Art Deco décor, a strange mix of furniture, colors and paintings that is very pretty. Peeerrooo… Of the hotel, sometimes, and only with some exclusive attention you can enter a garden.

Had an excellent stay. Tasteful, quiet hotel with a unique art collection and access to the private neighborhood park next door. Rooms are well designed, but small. Bathroom could use more lighting. Great Aesop toiletries.

A classic in NY, have stayed here 3 times, the rooms are very interesting, with the dark wooden floors and very nice carpets and fabrics. Unfortunately, ancient heating technology in the rooms. Asop Bathroom products. The concierge has good "places to be" recommendations.

I love this place, especially in the winter when you can share a lovely cocktail near the fire. Of course the place is very pricey, but it’s NYC (actually it’s Gramercy! ). I definitely recommend this for a romantic date… of course if you’re not on a tight budget!

The Rose Bar is classy, the DJ is great, the crowd is sexy. The door can be tough without reservations or knowing someone. Dress appropriately for a night of cocktails and fun.

Amazing atmosphere. The lobby has high ceilings with exposed wood beams. The restaurant was also great. The bar was fun and inviting and the dining area was just as good. The menu has all the pasta you can ask for.

Went here for a cocktail party on the terrace. Impeccable service. Great tasting food. Very clean. Great place for parties where it is spacious enough, warm and beautiful decor.

Rustic hotel that has plenty of character. You can feel it when you walk in with the lighting, furniture and crackling fire. My room was on the 15th floor and was large with a table, couch, fully equipped bar and large bed. They have lamps in the room that give a darker ambiance but also have large brighter lights in the room and bathroom so you don't feel like you are in the dark (I've been to similar hotels that don't have this like the High Line Hotel). Overall great hotel but pricey, it is a design hotel which you can get SPG points for.

One of the finest hotels in downtown NYC. There are three stunning bar venues on property: Jade Bar, Rose Bar & the rooftop terrace. Rooms are not large, but they are chic. This hotel oozes cool. You might even run into your favorite celeb in the bar or lobby.

Great location. You get access to Gramercy Park, the only private park in Manhattan. Only residents with a property with a window facing the park have access, and luckily the hotel is included and passes along exclusive access to guests. The rooms are beautifully decorated, with a dramatic detailed interior design. Everything is thoughtfully selected, and the room is both comfortable and stunning. A great experience for a NYC stay.

Great vibe with a cosy atmosphere. Staff is friendly and helpful. Access to the private Gramercy Park is a bonus. Some party going on some days with long lines to elevators (which you as a guest can bypass), but rooms are quiet in terms of party noise, but the doors leak a bit from people passing buy outside.

I visited the Gramercy Park Hotel Terrace for the Rebel Fashion Party being thrown by Nylon magazine. The interior of the hotel is gorgeous and the clientele is very affluent. The Terrace itself provides excellent views of the surrounding city but is not necessarily the best place to have two hundred people at once.

Hotel guests, I want you to know you are all blamed for this scorpion in my room based on the hotel's explanation. — — — We have been long time spg members and always stay with a spg hotel wherever we travel to. Gramercy Park Hotel is a beautiful place but the service is horrible. We are staying here for 4 nights starting from yesterday night. We can handle the front desk and some room service people being slow and rude, but when we got back to our room this afternoon, there's a scorpion in my blanket. I called the hotel room service immediately and told them about the scorpion, but after 10 mins they sent someone who obviously didn't understand English and didn't get a download from the person on the phone with me about why he's sent to our room, so he was trying to argue with me how nicely he folded the blanket this morning. The scorpion got away after all this nonsense delay, and the hotel claimed that their guests came from all over the places and it must be brought in by their guests. So Gramercy hotel guests, I want you to know you are all blamed by the hotel for this scorpion in my room.

I found this hotel absolutely beautiful! I visited a few weekends ago with family for a wedding. The rooms were very comfortable and decorated in almost a steam-punk fashion. They had hardwood floors, modern light fixtures with exposed bulbs, headboards covered in rich velvet fabric, a beautiful desk and chair, an old fashion radio on the night stand and thick velvet curtains. I thought it was so cool that the building really felt its age — no white walls, no carpeting. My only complaint about our room is that it was so very dark! During the day our window was a great source of light. But at night, you could barely see to read! My father-in-law had a gulf go out in his room and when a man came to replace it he mentioned that they only use 40 watt bulbs. This was definitely a stylistic choice. Other than that we had a perfectly lovely time! I would recommend visiting Grammercy Park! It's only open to residents. But t if you ask the security guard at the door, he can take you over (no more than six people at a time). He leaves you with a business card and you call them when you're ready to come out. It's a very simple park — a pleasant place to sit in next car weather.

Nice place to stay. Quiet area in NYC. Bars are good. Wish staff was more friendly… They make you feel like you are bothering them. But over all good.

I first stayed at the Gramercy in 1982. Years later I must admit that I have never stayed anywhere else other than a relative's apartment on the Upper East side. I only stay at the Gramercy. Is it the fact that so many famous people have also loved this place? Or is it the fact that I can have access to and hangout in the last private park in Manhattan simply by being a guest and asking for the key? Perhaps it's the lovely remodel by Julian and crew that has brought the Gramercy back from the brink. For whatever reason, I think that you will find this pleasant hotel to be one of the finest in its price range as well as one of your future favorites. The hotel's venerable location is excellent for lower to mid-Manhattan visits. My venues are all in the Village or Soho so the Gramercy offers immediate access. Enjoy.

Went to the Rose Bar. Service was slow because it was unusually busy for the time we went. Only one bartender so I don't hold that against them. The bartender was excellent for someone being overworked. The drinks were excellent but the prices are high. It's an upscale place so that's also expected. Went to kill time before dinner and was not disappointed.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for the weekend of the Tribeca Film Festival and it was spectacular experience. We had wonderful service and a beautiful room. Everything was perfect! The decor reminds me of a rendition of a mod medieval castle. The hallways are dark, but that's just getting you into the mood to rest in your beautiful room. We loved the food and used the room service option for breakfast. We also drank at the Rose Bar — wonderful vibe and music! Loved my time there and will be back!

Ate at Maialino and drank at the bar/hung out in the lobby. Both very good experiences, albeit with small hiccups. Dinner was overall incredible. Drinks and food consistently very good in a nice setting. However, one dish was bland and overcooked and the service sometimes bumped into each other or failed to communicate. E. G. I want to keep my red wine glass and one server understands that but a few minutes later the other takes it away. Small stuff, obviously, but for this price level and hype in Manhattan you should reach closer to perfection to earn 5 stars.

The only private park in NYC and you can only get in if you live there and have a key or if you stay at a hotel that allows you access. Fortunately for me we stayed at the Gramercy Park Hotel and we were able to get in when we wanted for the duration of our stay. The grounds are beautifully kept and the flowers were starting to bloom. It's a welcome peace of serenity in a very fast paced city. When you are sitting inside of it the fast paced world around you just melts away and you forget where you are. I can see why people pay the price to live here to have access to it. It feels like a Zen garden in the middle of chaos. I am glad that I was able to visit it and take in all it has to offer and I can see why everyone pays the high price to live on the park and have access to it.

The valet outside was quick to come up and take our rental car. When we walked in I was in awe of the gorgeous lobby, design use of rich color and texture and the aromatic smell coming from the fireplace. The seating is beautiful and you will be tempted to sit and read a book or chat with friends in the lobby. We were early for check in but, the front desk gladly stored our bags for us and gave us tickets to claim them when we returned. We booked a room with one queen bed but, found out the next day that we had been upgraded to a king room. The front desk staff was very helpful and explained concierge services, entry to Gramercy Park, dining options, etc. You will need a room key to access any of the floors from the elevator. We arrived on our floor and noticed that it smelled like incense in the hallway so, I am not sure if they pump it through the vents but, something about it just made you feel happy. Room Amenities: Comfortable mattress with high quality bedding, dining table with a cozy settee perfect for watching the tv, a bench and a chair fit for a king. The room is laid out in a way that it feels like a tiny apartment which is great if you plan on spending some time in your room or getting take out from somewhere. The room service menu was huge, the mini bar was well stocked (most items overpriced) but, half bottles of liquor were the best deal and they event had actual glasses for the wine. There is a safe, drawers, hangers and an ironing board in the closet.

Friendly and attentive staff, luxury bedding, high quality bath products, deep tubs, prompt valet, ability to black out the room during the day and a lobby that will leave you breathless. One of the better hotels in have stayed at and you get entry into the gated/private gramercy park.

This is a great hotel with excellent staff and a wonderful bar. There was a jazz band playing when I arrived and it added a exciting atmosphere to the bar and lounge. I made a mistake with my reservation and the staff kindly adjusted it for me at no additional charge. I was extremely satisfied with their service and would recommend this hotel to any colleagues or family.

Gramercy Park is most definitely a beautiful pocket of green in Manhattan's Gramercy neighborhood. However, being a private neighborhood space in an area that is lacking in adequate access to parks and green spaces, makes Gramercy Park exemplary of the forbidden fruits that only money can buy. Again, beautiful space, but good luck getting anything more than the view behind the fence without having a key!

Probably my favorite hotel in Manhattan. Located perfectly beside Gramercy Park itself, visitors staying at the hotel are allowed to visit the private park which was a wonderful experience. The contemporary art-focused decor features a lot of works by Damien Hirst which fit absolutely perfectly with the gothic nature of the building. The whole hotel is scented with le labo candles (which you can buy from the mini bar) and it has a warm atmosphere decorated with plush mixed with shabby chic interiors and stunning wood paneling. I had a loft room which was absolutely huge by NYC standards. Everything was super clean, comfy and luxurious plus the staff were a joy and so helpful. It was my birthday and they gave me a box of mini birthday cakes too which was so kind as well as delicious! Aesop products were an added bonus too. Highly recommend!

Can't enjoy something that's closed off to everyone except for the elite who live in gramercy.

You can enter on Christmas Eve for the Christmas caroling organized by the local Episcopal Church. This a private Park, only the residents in the buildings around the Park have a key. A beautiful Park.

One of the best luxury boutique hotels in NY. Right in front of the private park Gramercy accessible to hotel guests. Excellent Restaurant. Refined decoration of the rooms, large bathroom. One of my favorite places on my visits.

I mean its beautiful inside. Too beautiful? I didn't feel completely comfortable and I think that it is possible to be in a fancy place and still feel being yourself is okay.

Uptown luxury found in the hip downtown neighborhood of Gramercy. This hotel is a great place to relax, catch a drink, hang at the spa, etc. The rooms here are by far some of the nicest I have ever been in. Service is great as well. Anything you want, need, or desire, they can provide for you.
