I booked a four bedroom room directly on their website for 5 nights. Although I’d paid for the room in advance they put a $414 hold on my credit card which has still to be removed. This meant I couldn’t buy things I wanted to on my credit card. The room size was adequate but the air conditioning outlet blew out over the top bunk beds so we couldn’t use it as it was blowing directly on to the kids making them too cold — therefore it was difficult to sleep in the normal heat of the room. The outlet should be in a different place in a bunk room. The hotel decor is lovey and it’s in an excellent location next to Time Square. However, it doesn’t really have much atmosphere. I was expecting a vibrant bar area, but it’s tucked at the back and I only saw a few people in it during our whole stay. There is a pool but when I went to use it at 9am when it opens it was empty. The sauna was switched off so I didn’t get the benefit of these facilities when I wanted to use them. There is an overall feeling that it could be better maintained with toilet seats loose, clocks not working, room lights loose on the wall etc. The front of house staff are friendly but the whole trip was tainted by jewellery, perfume and makeup being stolen from our room. This happened on the second day while we were out for the day. I noticed the items missing when I went to use them the following morning and reported it to reception straight away.
