Room was dirty and moldy. Unhelpful front desk. This was all during Covid. Week before Christmas. Front desk knocked on our door and asked if they could come in and check if our fire alarm was going off. No fire alarm was making noise. We let the man in. He walked around our very tiny room with no mask on. During a NYC Covid out break. We were there 5 night. We could not use bar or pool area during 4 of the nights. The hotel had rented it out for private parties. The pool is located in the lobby. One night several women and men swimming nude. Kids where walking by seeing this. Had two windows. One would not close. One would not open. Heater in room was on all night and never heated room. We froze all night.

Nice hotel but the rooms are really small.

Great location right on time square, supermarket and Starbucks right next to the hotel and very nice and helpful staff. The room was pretty small and had minor door issues which is maintainable, but the high bed is extremely hard to handle in the middle of the night when trying to go to the bathroom from the window side. Other than that everything was great. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

The Grace hotel is a quirky hotel next to Times Square. It's known for its frequent pool parties, which this review is about. The entire hotel is cozy, which extends to the compact pool area. It boasts a good sized sauna and a "swim up bar. " How does a place this small have a swim up bar? The pool is located against a wall and there is a regular (small) bar on the other side of the wall, with glass windows that open, so you could order drinks from the pool. This place would be amazing for a small party — few hotels in NYC have pools. But for a larger crowd — and the grace pool parties seem to attract a crowd — the place is a bit lacking. There are no changing rooms or lockers, so wear your swimsuit under your evening wear, unless you want to line up and change in one of the three single person bathrooms. There is a coat/bag check for a fee and towels were $5. There is otherwise limited standing area and the pool was standing room only when I attended — think a subway car during rush hour that's half filled with water. So, check in advance how many people are expected.

This hotel was AMAZING! From the second we walked in the door being greeting by two very nice ladies, til we checked out. The beds are the most comfortable beds ever, the shower was awesome, but wish their was a door to close so we wasn't cold when we got out. The lights with the card was annoying, the pool was AWESOME! So beautiful and warm. Loved how close we was to the BTS STORE. That is the reason we came, momma did good. Lol, we will be back next year, oh thank you so much to the two evening ladies who stored my daughter's insulin in their fridge because ours in our room was not cold enough. See you soon.

Not sure why this place is still in business. I keep seeing poor reviews of poor customer service which I myself had issues with. If management had been engaged maybe I wouldn’t have such issues but basically non existent. Please don’t waste your money stay somewhere else where you’ll actually be respected for paying a small fortune. Security is a joke they stop you from using the services you paid for. Please fix otherwise you’ll never have my money again, which honestly should be refunded but I’m only greeted with other restraints to do so. Please read because you’ll be in my position if you deal/see security at all.

Service was exceptional. Pool was neat, good for colder weather specially being inside. Bar was awesome with a pretty cool happy hour. Room was clean and smelled awesome. Staff was friendly and very attentive to all of your needs. Bag check was very useful specially when the room isn't ready yet. Allows for you to explore and then come back and rest. Overall great hotel with an equally great location!

Fabulous AND super affordable hotel on 45th between 6th & 7th; In the heart of the theatre district and steps from Times Square. Stayed 3 nights and it was the perfect location to see all of Midtown and Central Park. Their attention to detail was on point, along with fun, funky decor. Highly recommend!

Very close to Times Square and reasonably priced — maybe a bit of paint or plaster and cleaning stains from the walls would be great (compare fotos). In addition we had trouble with the AC which didn't cool, it only heated. Only once they replaced a completely blocked filter it started cooling again. Something like that should be replaced regularly as it otherwise might prove a health hazard.

Stay in the junior suite, very nice. Swimming pool and associated bar. You have to ask for your bathrobe and it can only be delivered in your room! Good breakfast buffet.

A very nice modern hotel. We had a junior suite on the top floor (16th) with a view of the time square screens. And a small balcony. It was very nice. The shower room was spacious and nice with a nice VELUX on the roof… A flaw: for a suite it was a little small.

Loved booking this hotel until tonight. I was cussed and screamed at by their security for being in the pool after “closing hours”. It was 755pm and the hours posted say open until 11pm. I caught the security guard in front of my room locking me out of my room. When I brought this to the attention of the front desk all they offered was a free breakfast. And the security guard stood over me yelling while I was telling them my concerns. Even the front desk had to tell the security guard to calm down and leave me alone. I’m intimidated and honestly scared to stay here, knowing this man and his boss have access to my room.

The hotel staff were inviting, and helpful. Really liked the room, and location with the city, and the price was great as well. Only complaint was that the A/C wasn't working that great. With the unit on, the temperature in the room went up. We opened the window since it was in the 40s, but then had to deal with the noise of the city streets, and this city never sleeps.

Great place to stay! Three of us fit comfortably in room with king sized bed and twin up above it! Very clean and great staff all the way around! Perfect location within walking distance to Times Square/theater district, Radio City, Rockefeller, Bryant Park, and much more! Will most definitely stay here again!

Very friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast is very balanced and good quality, costs $13. Room facilities are good and quality OK. The location is wonderful, right next to Times Square. All in all for the price OK.

Location at the top. 1 min from the time square crowd bath yet the hotel is quiet! We do not have the light of the large panels under our eyes unlike other hotels located on time square.

Great hotel we just finished our stay with family. Impeccable family room for 4. Location only 50 meters from timesquare. The more the pool to relax after the big steps. Staff attentive. I strongly advise!

Beautiful hotel decorated with charm and very nice atmosphere. About the location is ideal to enjoy an unforgettable stay as it is close to everything.

2 stars only because of employees generosity. Other than that this hotel was not worth the amount I payed to stay. Firstly I stayed in a King Standard (room was small) upon check in I was not informed what time check out the next day was. Employee did tell me when breakfast started and ended in the morning but did not include that breakfast is not complimentary and did not mention how much additional it would cost. Also site does not state breakfast is not complimentary and thats where I booked directly through. I was not able to enjoy the lounge pool day of my arrival so I looked forward to taking a swim the next morning once it was open. I got to the pool around 10 and the water was very cold and dirty. I did inform an employee that said they would raise the water temperature but it would take a couple hours and by that time it would've already been the time I had to check out. Extremely disappointed as the lounge pool was one of the main reasons I booked at this hotel and didn't even get to enjoy this feature.

My family and I have stayed at roommate Grace 3 times and we have loved it! The rooms are so New York City themed decor, they are clean, like a good deep clean went through every time we stayed. The staff is beyond awesome! They always went above and beyond for my family each visit. This is the ONLY hotel we will stay in, we are actually coming for a 4th visit next month. Can't wait! A HUGE thank you to the staff, your hard work doesn't go unnoticed.

Hotel Niche — claustrophobic experience the room we were allocated for three people was so small that we could not open our suitcases for lack of space. Nor were we able to hang the clothes in the cupboard for their minimum size. The hotel management justified it for being a Boutique hotel, I think the proper term is hotel niche, because from the moment you open the door to the room you are obliged to put yourself in a horizontal position, as the only space in the room is Destined for bed.

Nice little place to have a girl friend. The rooms are to small to take your wife and kids. And its difficult to get a extra bed for the kids I rented a extra room because the room in the picture looks big wen you get there they are small.

First I would like thew staff more making our stay most memorable. The hotel is close to Times Square. The room was quiet, clean and appropriate for our needs. We will be back!

Awesome cozy hotel. My woman and I have been coming here for the past 3 years and have thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff is fun, friendly and very accommodating. Hands down, our best hotel experience in NYC! We will continue to return every year.

Central location. Breakfast is simple but edible… a few steps to time Square… Rockefeller Center walking distance in 10min.

Really liked this hotel. The staff was very nice and added a personal touch. We mentioned we were in the city to see a show for my son's 9th birthday and while we were out, they put a sweet note and a cupcake in our room. It really made the experience special! Cute room, funky pool, great time all around!

I stayed at Room Mate Grace NYC for one night between Christmas and NYE. It was my second visit to this hotel and it did not disappoint! I took my 13 year old and 10 year old daughters for a show at MSG. The triple room we had was perfect. I shared the king bed with my 10 year old and my 13 year old had the bunk. They loved the decor, as did I. We did not get back in time from the show and dinner to use the pool, but we did so in the morning. It was great as they were the only kids using it, along with another family we were travelling with. At first I was disappointed in myself for not getting back in time the night before, but I think it is best for families to try to get to the pool in the morning or afternoon. We also enjoyed the breakfast at the hotel. I thought it would be pastries, bagels and cold cereal, but it was that plus hot selections such as eggs, bacon and sausage. Our came with the room so I am not sure what the cost would be normally. All of the staff were very helpful and friendly to my girls and I. I want to especially thank Alvaro who did everything in his power to make our trip wonderful. This hotel is the perfect location, just steps to Times Square. It was also a short walk to MSG. I will definitely be back and I will definitely recommend to others.

Hotel very close to Time Square. Room and bathroom very clean. The bed was very cozy. Friendly staff at the reception. There is a suitcase and taxi service on departure. The suitcases are kept so that you can leave the hotel again. The nice gentleman waits for one in front of the hotel and calls the taxi and loads the suitcases into the car. The breakfast was OK. Tastes are different.

Party 6days, great hotel with an ideal location for Time Square team friendly, the night watchman chatting with you in French and it makes the ideal family good with a swimming pool and sauna on the 2nd floor I recommend and I'm annoying on hotels!

This boutique hotel will wow you with the swimming pool on the lobby level. Be careful you may just miss it if you don't turn around at the elevators. As you enter your floor, the one area that falls short are the walls. If I wanted to feel like I was in a funhouse, I would have gone to the carnival. After the hallways, the rooms are excellent. The beds are extremely comfortable. The bathrooms in great condition and very comfortably designed so one may use the sink or shower without interruption.

DO NOT RENT THE POOL AREA! I went here for a private party at the pool. The pool was FULL of chlorine, and it bleached my bathing suit. It stung my eyes, face and private. The whole group regretted this experience, and there is only one female bathroom. The hotel does not clean their pool, they just put more chlorine in it. After 15 minutes of swimming, everyone started complaining that they were burning. You couldn't even go underwater. do not rent the pool area!

We were on our honeymoon and everything was great. This is a very short walk from Times Square, the rooms are perfect for what we were looking for, that is to say, to arrive after Dun day of tourism and with good bath. It has an indoor pool with a bar in the pool, plus a sauna and steam room. Be careful when you ride the gay parties you ride and don't know it. Like it happened to me. It was hilarious to be in the sauna and to enter man, empear to talk and when I realized I threw the junk. I politely declined the offer and when I left I saw the balloons with the silkscreen of gay party. It was great. The staff were friendly and helpful. In short, all perfect!

The hotel describes itself as 'funky', and the decor (particularly in the bar) won't disappoint on this front. It's not the most luxurious, by any means, but the room was comfortable. The little pool and sauna are a welcome sight at the end of a day's stomp around the city! Staff are friendly and helpful and the hotel is perfectly situated to explore the highlights of NYC.

I booked a room for two nights using the Hotel Tonight app and paid about $120 per night all included. The room had a lot of personality with dark walls and carpet. Clearly the highlight of this place, though, is the pool and poolside bar! It's not large enough to swim, but it feels great after a day out in the streets of the city. There is also a small gym with two treadmills, one bike, and a bunch of weights. I'm no fan of Times Square, but the location is very convenient, close to almost all subway lines and to several must-see attractions. Overall, great value for the money.

This hotel is centrally located to many of the destination spots and public transportation. I highly suggest getting a metro card for unlimited rides, cheaper than the tour buses. The room has a safe and minibar but there's a deli down the street to get snacks without the ridiculous prices. There is a small pool but I didn't use that either. Also bring ear plugs or have a white noise app it can get noisy at night.

So some people like that as it can be romantic, and others I would guess feel that makes it less homey. I would definitely stay there again, the location was perfect!

The worst — — the worst experience ever in a hotel. It wreaked of chlorine from the weird pool they had basically IN THE LOBBY. The staff was snarky and very immature… The curtain didn't close in my room. Housekeeping never refilled my minibar — I had to call each night… they forgot to put washcloths in the room 2 days. The fire alarm went off twice early morning and late one night. Never again.

The ideal location. Very original room and modern design… but really too dark (especially on a rainy day! ) The breakfast was very good and the service was very nice. Nevertheless it is quite expensive.

The Hotel is comfortable and in a great location, but the arrangement of the room we were given with the double bed only accessible on one side left me a little perplexed.

The room Mate Grace Hotel in New York is very well placed in the heart of Times Square. This hotel is very clean with a spacious room and a new one. The staff are lovely and very attentive with the guests. A special mention for SERGE who speaks very well French and is very friendly with all the customers, and for Marco who was always very pleasant as well as his colleagues of the reception. We spent 10 days in this hotel. It was very pleasant. In the evening we often eat at Connolly just a side. Very good too. Thank you to the whole team of the hotel; Best memory. This small hotel is just if Broadway and a perfect location to stay if going to a show. When you arrive there is a strange musty smell that appears to be caused by the pool. The pool is unique because it is visible to everyone at the bar and people waiting for the elevator. I was able to upgrade my room for a reasonable price. The ladies at the front desk were nice and helpful. Parking was$30 and only about a block away. The decor is dark and kind of trippy. I didn't mind it. The room was clean and perfect for our needs and had a refrigerator but no Ice bucket. I would stay here again because of its location and its funkiness.

Stayed there 4/17-4/21 2017. Awesome staff the triple room was fantastic. My 16 year old loved the loft. The staff was incredible, Eugene and the front desk staff could not have been better! Can't wait to go back. 200 yards to Times Square. 5 star.

Hotel conveniently located to visit New York, one is in the middle of Manhattan, which makes it possible to make a maximum of visits on foot. Time Square is at the end of the street.

Our room was very small, but hey, we were leaving in the morning and coming home in the evening. The sheets were not changed during the stay, the towels yes.
We enjoyed the pool the first time, but then the water was cold so we no longer bathed.
We had breakfast once, it was fine.
It was nice to have a kettle, coffee and tea in the room.
In conclusion, we wanted to go back on leaving.

Basic room was small, even for NYC, but the bed was comfortable. However, there was no place to hang up a dress or suit. The hanging bar in the "closet" had a shelf underneath it so that the hanging space wasn't long enough even for a standard dress shirt. Stupid. At least they had an iron…

Love the new room layouts and awesome indoor pool lounge area where you can order a drink from the bar without getting out of the water.

A beautiful hotel, located very close to times square. The well dressed staff professional knowledgeable. Although the rooms are on the smaller side, they are clean and very well appointed. The king size bed we slept in was very comfortable.

Really enjoyed my night stay for my birthday! Quiet and beautiful. Window was to an alley but the room was too beautiful to care about outside!

Location is very good, staff is good and the breakfast buffet offers great value for money at $12. The pool is rather measly and there are quite a few flaws as well as relatively small rooms. On the whole it's a decent place to stay in New York City.

We stayed last year on our honeymoon. A really lovely hotel and comfortable, all staff very attentive. In addition to this located very close to Times Square.

We stayed in early October for a week and the truth is that we loved it. Best of all is the location, it is only about 150 metres from times square and you have everything relatively close by. The exquisite service and speak Spanish. Cleaned every day the room. The buffet only had breakfast and it was pretty good. The only downside that I put is that you heard noise from the street although so close to times square I guess normal.

My daughter and I stayed at the hotel in early June 2015. Hotel was in the middle of a major renovation but our room was beautiful, clean, & comfortable. Bathroom was very spacious — huge shower with waterfall shower-head. Outstanding location. Staff friendly and helpful. Will stay here again.

Great Location! — Quaint little hotel only 1/2 block off of Times Square! Reasonably priced, friendly staff. The rooms are small and funky, but perfect for our mother/daughter weekend. Several restaurants and deli's next door and across the street. We would stay there again, close to everything, but away from the craziness of Times Square.

Great hotel at the best location in NYC! Room is not big but perfectly fits for a single, couple and other rooms type for even more. Rooms are clean and well designed. Breakfast ain't like a regular American breakfast but just more. This place also has free Wi-Fi, small GYM and small pool. Highly recommanded!

Unless paying the price for the luxury rooms, guests must be okay with tight quarters (which goes for many hotels in the city). It was right up my alley, funky and maybe not the most sophisticated, but I was in the mood for it. The loft bed hanging perpendicular above the lower bed was a lot of fun. There was a party on the ground floor every night and there's a small pool. It was a romantic the first time, and I will be going back again with a flock of ladies.

Very good service although the hotel is very basic. Being so close to Times Sq is a massive plus and the rooms are reasonably priced. Few problems in the room, lights not working for one, were fixed immediately by maintenance. Front of house were very helpful but a little lacking in knowledge of Manhattan. All in all, basic but good for what we wanted.

The experience was wonderful. I enjoyed the pool a nd the pool in bar. The interior was different. Although they need to fix the lobby area as it is too small but besides that my experience was great with them. Marcell was a great help. Also the bartender was great.

Awesome place to stay. I was there for the NewYear. We partied by the pool. But the staffs were really very friendly and helpful. Overall their service was very fast and friendly even in such a busy time. I will definitely stay here again if I go to NYC for vacation. Excellent find! The staff was very polite and helpful. We arrived a bit early and they let us check in. Even upgraded our room to a deluxe room with a balcony! The room was not your typical tiny shoebox of a room — — there was space to move around and it was very functional. We loved the platform around the bed that also served as a luggage rack, couch and nightstand. There was a small fridge for our beverages and leftovers, which we loved! The bathroom was very modern with 2 side by side rain shower heads and a 3rd shower head with a hose and multiple settings, the shower had no doors or ledge do pretty much the entire bathroom served as a giant awesome shower. Even better — — the hotel has an awesome pool and lounge area with a swim up bar window, sauna and steam room. The downside was that the pool was scheduled to be closed due to "emergency repairs" on our 2nd day there so we ended up rescheduling our dinner to the 2nd night in order to get in some decent pool and sauna time, disappointing but we were notified at check in so it wasn't a huge deal. The location was perfect — right around the corner from Times Square and just down the street from Penn Station, The Rock and Bryant Park! We will definitely be back anytime we are staying in the city! Great hotel.

Best hotel to see NYC without a doubt. Excellent and always have a Spanish-speaking person if English is not your forte. Great rooms and pool for when you arrive trapping gait is appreciated a lot. 100% recommended.

The best of Room Mate Grace is its unbeatable location. Right next to Times Square.
The rooms are very small but functional. The decor is very cool, as the of all the Room Mate. On the ground floor there is a very small pool and a music bar where the evenings there are very nice to have a few drinks. Breakfast is fair enough for the price that you have. At reception there are all-day free apples. We are not left with very good taste because we got tired of San Francisco to five in the morning and we went to spin city, about eleven we ask if we could enter the room since I was not very well and despite being free did not let us. That detail not liked since I was fatal! But I recommend it for functionality and location.

Checked in for Comic Con. Great service and right near all the action. The rooms are a bit smaller than anticipated, but it's NYC. Beds are comfy and warm with in room thermostat. No tub, but rocking shower. The pool/spa area was pretty nice too.
