Clean and empty rooms available when I arrived yet still wanted to charge me $85 for early check in. Ridiculous.

Absolutely awful service. Front desk staff are clueless and rarely answer the phone. Security does NOTHING about all night parties. Two all-nighters on our floor meant no sleep. Complained to hotel manager and got a couple free drinks… BFD! Electricity goes out in room, engineering nowhere, so had to move to a new room. Still no compensation. Called front desk and was told by Geo that the electrical outage was our fault because we probably plugged a hairdryer in. First of all NOTHING was plugged in and hello… it’s a hotel. Also told front desk (Geo) about parties and between the electrical outage and the parties we should be comped a free night. Front desk (Geo) told me it was our responsibility to tell the party rooms to be quite and we probably caused the electrical outage in the room. No after hours manager on duty. Half the time staff do not show up for work, so the one front desk clerk works the front desk, espresso and restaurant… They also closed the only restaurant and bar at 6:00 instead of 11:00 because of no staff. The hotel is also located in a crappy and seedy part of Brooklyn. do not stay here!

My stay at the the Hotel RL was excellent. The staff is friendly and the bar was great.

My daughter and I stayed here for a long weekend. My first trip to NY. I was a little worried about its location but it was great! Close to the subway. The staff were great. The decor was a throw back to an industrial design which was so cute. Room Was small but great use of Space, and we were only there to sleep. Just an FYI there is nit a mini fridge or microwave if you need those. We didn't.

We stayed here this past Saturday, and loved it. Great use of space and amenities but the true gem here is the staff, so warm and welcoming! We will definitely stay here again.

It's super basic but clean and comfortable. The room is well sized and I like the queen and twin bed combo in the room. The TV wasn't intuitive on first use, had to call the front desk to be told to push the mute button twice to get out of their menu thing. Staff was friendly. Right next to the subway and bus stops to easily get downtown.

Clean hotel and room had enough space for two. Check in was easy, free coffee is good. Lounge area was playing trippie redd which was dope. Bathroom is a little weird, the shower doesn’t have anything to keep the water from going everywhere. Honestly so weird to even describe it. Don’t eat the blue fortune cookies! Got woken up early morning by blaring fire alarms. The guy at the front desk, name started with a d was nice, but I wish they wouldn’t test a fire alarm at 10am. Unless they wanted to wake everyone up.

No fridge. No microwave. Rooms built for necessities and look. Bathroom is nice but may be a little dangerous when wet for little kids. Basement houses small but nice lounge area, with mini fridge and microwave. Alexandra at the front desk was AMAZING! Scale of 1-10 this has been a 9.5

I was able to get a last min room when my flight was canceled. It was an easy process all the way through, from booking to checkout. The rooms are small and have spartan appointments (sinks are not made for more than tooth brushing) but if you're just looking for a base to shower and sleep in, (with no more than one other person) the location and price can't be beat. My room was very clean. I'd book again!

Nice hotel. Staff is more than welcoming. Bartender was funny. Room was a bit small but cute. Elevator takes a century, I recommend using stairs if you're in a hurry.

The place was comfortable and very modern. They were clean and front desk was polite. The only reason I wouldnt stay there again would be because of the weed smell in the hall.

Love it. Very cute. Only problem is there is no mirror in the main area of the room so it's hard to get dressed if someone e else is in the shower.

Good location, nice spacious rooms, not too loud (despite being right next to elevated trains). No parking, but free street parking available in the neighborhood (have to move your car every other day or so). Snacks, breakfast, and free coffee available in the lobby/lounge.

I love it's design mix of modern and vintage. Very smart use of small spaces. The awesome window/mirror on the shower. My room was on the 4th floor, very nice view of the train passing by. It all just fit in together.

Staff nice. Fun bar. I guess it's hit or miss on getting a clean room. Left at about 8 am, came back at about 9 pm, room was just like we left it. Had to ask for towels twice. Mangers were nice though.

Rather motel, as a hotel. Unfortunately, everything is a bit clairvoyant, especially the toilet flushing and those who have the rooms out to the side of the road should have no problem with the subway (high railway). Breakfast: well-typical for America Everything else was top for this price! Staff, cleanliness, etc.

It's clean. It's small. And it's affordable. Had to fly in and to get to Queens in the morning. No frills. Staff was super nice and friendly. Also close to local transportation to get into the city. Bar across the street has good tacos… Just happened to be taco Tuesday… $1 tacos.

Absolutely loved this place! Super close to the subway and walking distance to many bars, salons and convenience stores. The hotel itself has a bar in the lobby which is hip and has a very intimate ambience. The outside garden/backyard was closed for construction but I look fwd to hanging out there the next time I stay. I stay in many hotels and I have to say this one beats them by the cleanliness of the room. The bathroom was spotless! The room I stayed in fits 2 people very comfortably. The decor in the room is also super chic. Loved it. Check in was simple and the staff was wonderful. Would have been nice to crack a window in the room (it was closed) but other than that my stay was lovely. I'd definitely stay here again.

Absolutely wonderful atmosphere, price, and location. I loved it here and would definitely come back! They only got 4 stars because the poor front desk staff seemed under staffed, and it took a while to get service because one person was checking people in/out, and answering two phones.

Basic boutique hotel. Didn't stay for long… Like 2hrs. Room I was in was plain. Nice bed, flat screen TV was stuck on menu screen, gorgeous bathroom with walk in shower. My only gripe… No closet. Instead there were fabric storage boxes on a shelf above the TV and wall hangers just below.

Great price, great space, lounge area in the lobby and a game room located in the basement along with an microwave and a ice machine. The rooms are about 200 square feet. I don't know about you but forget space I want a Great price but not a box to to sleep in and have to share your bathroom with others on the floor. So stay here it's a Great price, great location, great space, so since you have that you can go and chill. Peace!

The staff is always friendly. Rooms are always clean. I stayed here about 11 times and not one complaint. My boyfriend said that's a first.

I'm not a fan of rating low but I did not enjoy my stay here. The room was very small but unique. Don't care about the size but I expected a fridge and a microwave. Free breakfast means chips and soda. The water temperature was freezing and the handle on the shower was not connected. I called front desk and was told someone would come. No one ever showed up after 3 hours. We left and when we returned the water temp went up but the handle was still broken. Was told the mechanic is not available after we were told he was in the basement. They literally didn't care that the handle was detached and didn't attempt to fix it or offer something as a courtesy… I smelled weed the intire weekend in the hallways then it was mixed with garbage because there was a garbage bag sitting by a room for days. The rooms are not sound proof as I heard every time my neighbors were having lively sex. Just waited for the trip to be over to leave.

Very clean, courteous Non smoking rooms Ice machine in the basement No fridge, no hair dryer Who ever designed it was very clever at making such a small space very comfortable. No dressers shelves above the television and hooks wall to wall. Awesome glass shower door that turns into a mirror when the bathroom light is off!

The room looked nice, but I stopped appreciating the hardwood floors when I realized that it made the footsteps from the room very audible. Also, we had an issue with the room above us blasting music at 2:30 am. It took 4 calls to the front desk for them to pick up, and it sounded like they were sound asleep. It then took another 15 minutes for them to get the music to stop.

If you are staying here, don’t expect drink service at the bar. We thought we would have a quick drink before going to airport. Nope. But when people off street came in, they got immediate service. There is a nice place across the street with good cocktails.

Good care and comfort. Nice weather, good products.

Booked the hotel through the app, no issues Checked in at night and had to wait for someone to come to the front desk since the guy sitting there was covering. Fine, no problem guy who checked us in seemed like he knew what he was doing. Room wasn’t a issue, checked out then the next day noticed numerous fees all of a sudden. $160 extra in fees on top of room, fees just taken out of my account. Called hotel and they had no clue what happened, really? No clue? Really? You just charge someone’s card and no clue what happened? Called the customer service number from the app I booked and they say the guy who checked me possibly wasn’t trained and charged additional fees for some reason and was charging my card extra for other things. How does this happen? Just overall experience when contacting them for help. They left me hangjng. “I don’t know how you got charged. ” really never made me want to book anything from this place again.

They took my dress and never gave it back. Price per night reasonable. Service otherwise good. Small rooms but hey it is NY so… clean! Next to train loud and not for you if you are a light sleeper. Nice grass back yard area and full bar with some freshish food too!

I love this place. Cool rooms and although they a little small you can definitely have a whole photo shoot in the room. It gives a very artsy vibes and the patio down stairs is pretty cute as well.

My friend stayed here when visiting New York for business, from London. There is a restaurant-bar space at this austere, historic hotel, but it was closed during her visit. A sign posted on the door wad the only indication that it was closed, as it was not mentioned on the website. This would have factored into her decision to stay there.

While the rooms are quaint and trendy, ammenities and customer service are lacking. If you're traveling light, don't count on there being a hairdryer provided. The cafe never had anyone working the morning I was checking out at 9am even though I was told they had great, free coffee. My biggest annoyance was that when I tried to check-in there was an error on the self-service kiosk and at check-out was told to just leave my key with the person at the desk — I didn't receive a receipt for my stay (which I need to expense my stay for my business trip) and after requesting it on the site (twice), I called to see if someone could send this to me. I was promised an email within the next 20 minutes and hours later I still do not have anything. The location is fine, with a few cute coffee shops nearby and some interesting street art.

The RL Hotel is what makes Bushwick and Brooklyn great! this hotel can boast of a great and unique asset when it come to dealing with hospitality for its guests who come from everywhere… Tyler is a great host who has made guests feel comfortable during their sojourn in NYC due to his friendly earthy personality… Therefore I recommend this hotel wholeheartedly.

I want to say to whoever owns it… If you don't get control of your establishment it will go under. Personally I'm sure you know who I am. My name is chef chef hot Sauz mike. With the Worlds best Organic Chicken burger. It's a New construction and there's complaining about no food and plumbing issues… Nevertheless the place looks good with poor service and bad management. Not going to last unless changes are made quickly. New status I'm at the Camillie needs to bring forth a better Bushwick for bed Stuy.

Was booked for an event. Nothing was prepared. We are all here. People have come from other cities. Booked rooms even. 10 comedians that were organized. The venue looks beautiful. But no mikes. No equipment. Nothing that was part of the contract has been provided. This is such a shame. Worst management seen ever. I will never work with or come for an event here again and nobody should. The manager cannot even be sweet as is being sarcastic. The hotel has not made an effort to give anything complimentary. The least a good management would do is provide the guests with something. Beer, food or anything. Hospitality at its worst. Advice for management. We are all still in the space till 9.30. At least offer the guests for the event something! Come on! Make it happen! Its not that hard. I wish I was the manager.

This place is a nice getaway from your regular suburban life. Like myself living in Maryland. Around plenty food places, markets, etc. Train stations is right there. Great place to be if you are 21 and up wit no kids and looking for fun.

The hotel inside is very nice, clean, welcoming. Our room was very clean, comfortable, and fun. Excellent price for 5 nights. Friendly people. Back patio is open to the public. No ice machines or mini frigs. Hotel is not locked at night. Above ground subway in front. Strong smell of pot The area outside the hotel was less than desirable. Mostly closed up buildings. One nice small pizza place. Worst of all, for some reason I could hear people through a vent upstairs all night long 3 nights in a row, partying. I could hear everything they were saying and doing. I wish I could say the area was "up and coming" but not for a long time. This may be the perfect stay for someone else or a younger person. Not me.

This place was great! I was able to book a room last minute at 1:00 a. M. Online, and be checked in with in 15 minutes. The staff was so nice and the hotel room was clean. It was a great experience.

Everything is clean, the bed comfortable. But after the first night, no one put a ghoul for a shower not cleaned ( (

Tyler welcomed me, checked me in, explained parking and went outside with me to suggest options. I don't think I've ever experienced hospitality like this at ANY hotel! My room is clean, comfortable and creatively furnished. MUCH better than any other Brooklyn hotel I've stayed at. Definitely try this little gem.

Was sort of nervous when I called about an early check in and the woman on the phone was less than helpful. But checking in Tyler was awesome! Really friendly to my mom who was visiting and gave her a great room and really changed my opinion. He reccomend places to eat and things to do and had a great attitude! Hotel is great. All the negative reviews seem to be from people that expect chain hotel service from a cozy smaller hotel. Room is gorgeous, quiet, very clean and new. Outdoor space is gorgeous and the bar is fully stocked with affordable drinks and snacks. Awesome place and we will be using it again!

Very excellently kept rooms. Service was extremely kind and helpful, air conditioning was placed with consideration, and kept the beds very cool. Bathroom is a tad small, but very clean. My only complaint would be how steamy the bathroom gets, I could not find any ventilation switch, so I assume there is no vent fan.

When I first walked passed the location I had to stop an take a moment and appreciate the decor well lit lobby and entry way. My first visit was interesting, the Rooms are rustic minimalist and sporty. Not bad, and a good look for the area.

Bare bones hotel with a minimalist but comfy room. It was large in size, good bathroom and nice and bright room. The location is right in front of the subway but I didn't hear any train noise.

I traveled from upstate New York for my birthday to attend a concert that my husband surprised me with. My husband booked the room a week prior. While on the train my husband called saying I needed to fill out a waiver he was going to email me so that I would able to check in the hotel when I arrived. Needless to say, none of this was mentioned on the phone when my husband paid for and booked the room. When I arrived at the hotel to check in there were no rooms available. The guy checking people in was still giving me the run around about me having the waiver and my husbands credit card. My husband was on the phone and spoke to the guy again giving me authorization to use his credit card that I did not have. I then asked to speak to a manager because now it was 6 pm I could not check in and there were still no rooms available. The manager finally assured me that he would check me in and not to worry. I went back to the other guy and let him know what the manager said, but I was still confused why I had no room but a reservation was made a week prior and my husbands card was charged. Finally, after 30mins I walked back over to check the status of a room and was given my key, but no room number. The manager I believe his name was Adrian assured me that he would take care of me and he would be there the next morning and hopefully I would come stay again. Well I never heard from him again! The hotel itself is beautiful and very relaxing and the room was cozy.

Um. I want to like this hotel. But the reality is, there was a hairy piece of gum on the windowsill before check in of our room, that on the second day was still there after the maid had come and tried to hide it behind the shade. The cafe: I was charged $6 for burned eggs and cheese on a pita because they were out of biscuits and bagels. This place is still under construction. The common areas are messy because people are still working on them. My boyfriend and I tried to eat dinner downstairs and we were told that we couldn't have our own wine. We were treated like naughty children. I've never had that experience. Then we were watching TV in the common area and the construction workers stopped and watched with us. It was just uncomfortable.

I had such a good experience at this hotel. It is clean and well decorated with a cool vibe. The staff at night was really nice, especially Warren, who made us feel more than welcome. It's right near a subway and we were able to hangout in the eating space at night however long we liked. Also, the free coffee was a nice bonus.

This was one of the worst hotel/customer service experiences I've ever seen. While the lobby/restaurant area is nicely designed, there is nothing else that redeems this place. I stayed for two nights with a group of colleagues during a recent snow storm. There was no coffee, no food, no wine, no Wifi in the hotel, and all but one of the staff called out sick for the snow day, with no manager on duty. The one remaining staff member did not know how to make basic coffee for the guests stranded there, nor did he order it in from the Bodega next door or find any alternative solution. No effort was made to accommodate, entertain (we were told we could not use the lobby TV to play a movie or YouTube) or provide any food or beverage services to the guests during an entire day of being stuck inside, even though breakfast was supposed to be part of our package. On another note, while the rooms are modestly comfortable, there's a two-way mirror into the showers, so there's no privacy at all in the bathroom. Majorly awkward when sharing with a colleague. Other things, like a bedside lamp or at least light switch, have been overlooked. I would never recommend this place to anyone or stay here again.

This place was dope. The staff was super helpful/friendly, great views, encouraged lounging, great use of functionality of space in the rooms, had a charmingly squeaky elevator, great neighborhood.

Awesome hotel with great staff. The experience was different to say the least with how the rooms are set up, there is no real storage area for cloths execpt hanging pikes along one wall. Additionally, I would recommend this venue more for couples rather than families with kids or friends traveling together as the bathroom in our room, while it is great and modern, has the shower behind a transparent mirror that is see through from both sides only when the bathroom light is on. So it was a little awkward for a guy and girl travel team to share the same room. However do not let that take away from the experience here, it is comfortable and is just right for those on a budget. Would stay here again!
