After a few postponements due to Covid we finally had our wedding there last night 11.5.21. I cant tell you enough how great everything was! From the food. To the staff… everything was amazing! A huge shout out to Phil! He was absolutely amazing through this whole thing. I highly recommend The Century House… they definitely are the best!

Ordered our Valentines Day take-out dinner from The Century House and it was amazing! We had a prime rib with a lobster tail and chicken cordon blue with stuffed shrimp which included all the fixings and both were outstanding. Overall we were very happy with the food and service.

Went for a quick overnight getaway with my daughter and her golden retriever. Staff was very friendly, room service quickly served, and I was impressed with the extensive covid cleaning. Beds were comfortable. Despite the frigid January air, the half mile trail provided much needed exercise for our dog, and was conveniently located right outside the exit next to our room. The boxed continental breakfast that was included was nice, and provided more than enough food. The shower was spacious. I’d definitely recommend!

Fantastic NYE take out! We ate for 2 days! I never order chicken out but the Modern Chicken cordon bleu was outstanding! Thanks CH!

Wonderfully appointed hotel, spacious rooms, super friendly service in both the hotel and the restaurant (plus great food), and beautiful grounds. Stayed 2 nights and took advantage of the nature trail, the pool, and the restaurant (both takeout and outdoor dining). The rooms are really perfectly set up — one of the nicer hotel rooms we’ve stayed in. Even breakfast to go was great!

My friend and I had the lobster rolls on the patio last night. I highly recommend you eat there. The staff is friendly and professional. The Century House strictly adheres to the Covid-19 guidelines which made us feel very safe. The food is delicious!

I won a day pass to tryout one of the new work-spaces they've created and I'm so happy I did! I checked in and the front desk area was well signed with social distancing guidelines and hand sanitizer readily available. The room! I wish I had some of these amenities in my home work space. There was a desk and 2 end tables that all had power and usb outlets available. This way I could work at the desk or move to the couches to work which was convenient. The Wi-Fi worked perfectly so I was able to be really productive. The decor was modern farmhouse. It smelled newly done so I'm wondering if I was the very first to use the room. The floors, walls and furniture all appeared to be new and clean. The quietness of a hotel during a weekday lent itself to a calm work day. All work and no play makes Ashlee a dull girl so I couldn't let that happen. I ordered the garlic parm wings from the restaurant for lunch and it was brought right to my room. During my lunch break I took advantage of the cable TV and took a little snooze on the comfy corner couch. After my work day ended I took a shower in the uber clean bathroom and ordered room service again! This time I had to try their prime rib special. SOOOO good. I'm still thinking about it. It was perfectly cooked and the seasoning, yumm! It came with squash, carrots, au jus and mashed potatoes for $25, which I found to be reasonable. So overall what do I think of the new work-spaces? I LOVED IT!

We had our wedding there Thanksgiving weekend and it was absolutely beautiful! The decorations were gorgeous and the pictures came out amazing. The food was fantastic as well. The staff, both for the wedding and at the hotel, were all very helpful, friendly, and accommodating. They even had a welcome sign for our dog! We can’t say enough about our wedding planner Phil and the rest of the wedding staff who were there for all our needs and to make sure everything was exactly how we wanted and ran as smoothly as possible. Phil was very responsive to all of my questions and concerns and made me feel at ease through the whole planning process. 10/10 would recommend! Thanks for the beautiful weekend!

Everything about this venue is incredible. Food is a 10/10, entire staff is 10/10. We had our wedding 8/10/19 Phil was an incredible crucial part of our wedding day to go off without a hitch. He was punctual, personable, understanding, and OUTstanding. His colleagues the same. We had the smallest hiccup which had been addressed, managed, and gone within an instant. I would recommend this venue to anyone, for anything. From a short dinner, to an all day event, Phil and his team are the ones to see!

My husband and I got married at The Century House and the staff was absolutely amazing! They did everything we could have dreamed of and were superstars right from the beginning! I worked with Brittany, who is an absolute sweetheart, right from the beginning and she made sure everything went smooth and wanted it to be exactly how Kris and I imagined it! Phil and Abigail were with us the day of the wedding and they were always checking in to make sure I was doing okay or if I needed anything. They made me feel extremely comfortable and like I didn’t have to worry about a thing! When I saw the set up and decorations I was thrilled. They did such a stunning job setting up. Our photographer, Kortni Maria, was able to get stunning photos of all the hard work everyone put into it and we can’t stop looking at them.
The chef was great with accommodating to my food allergy. Most of our food was gluten free and they even did a buffalo Mac and cheese for me, DELICIOUS! We had our signature drinks with us all night and our prime rib was something we looked forward, it did not disappoint! It was awesome waking up the next morning and seeing all our family at the hot breakfast downstairs in the hotel. We got to say our goodbyes their and it was nice to have some extra time with them. I have nothing but AMAZING things to say about The Century House! We’re truly grateful for the staff and Our experience was something we will never forget.

My husband and I had our dinner at The Century House on Friday night. The food was delicious and the wait staff was terrific! It was a much needed, relaxing evening out. We will definitely be back again soon.

We’ve never had a bad stay here; if there is a problem with the room, the staff are right on it; breakfast are excellent. This place just attracts good people.

We have been coming here for years and for the last couple we request Nick as our waiter. He is the best in the business and Colin do what you need to do to keep this gentleman employed.

Awesome place! Food was delicious, maybe a little overpriced (4 people with drinks, bottle of wine, shared app, meals, 2 desserts, coffee = $300 with tip). But the owner came to our table and shared the history of this beautiful building… great guy! Service was terrific! Will be back!

This hotel no doubt used to be good but now it is such a shame how it is. The rooms stink so much from dirty or damp carpets — I don’t think they have deep cleaned them in a long time. Such a health hazard. They have mini coffee makers in each room for guests to enjoy refreshments at their leisure and they replenish the supplies but they never clean the coffee machines. Dirt from the unit contaminated the coffee making it undrinkable. I swooped rooms during my stay and experienced the same thing in both rooms. The beds are so old that I woke up with a sore body and that is when I asked to swop rooms only to discover that the second bed was the same, it even had a board under the mattress to support the flimsy thing. The restaurant had really good food, but it does not open on a holiday so if you happen to go there when there is a holiday, you will have to get your food elsewhere. The hotel staff is quite friendly. I would not sleep here again but I would eat at the restaurant again.

This place is amazing! We stayed in the hotel for two nights. Beds were very comfortable, staff went out of their way to see that we had everything we needed, and they even had a popsicle hotline! Who does that?!? After a long day of visiting with family, I didn't want to go out for dinner but we overheard other guests talking about how fantastic the restaurant was so we gave it a try. Best decision we could have made as it was "Lobster Roll Tuesday" (and lobster is my favorite). Hubby had the prime rib (perfectly cooked) and the service was outstanding. I can't wait until our next trip back to Albany to visit family as we'll definitely be staying at the century house!

Its such a cute little place but it is fancy. We had an event in the main two rooms and it was plenty of space. The only minor issue, it was a little warm in the building.

Restaurant offers top-notch food and service, and the staff go above and beyond to make sure you have a great meal. The hotel has a boutique feel with the best free breakfast I've seen at a hotel. Beautiful event spaces for weddings, parties, galas, etc. Highly recommend!

We had our wedding at The Century House on 7/21/18. If I could give them more than 5 stars, I would. It was the best customer service experience I’ve ever had. They treated us like royalty the whole time. All of our guests are still raving about our wedding! It’s worth the money spent!

Do not have a wedding here. They were disorganized, the wedding planner did nothing and we could never find him, they didn't bother to iron the curtains at the alter for the ceremony (they were wrinkled beyond belief), they messed up the table placements and allowed cards and money to be stolen and did not even help try to find the culprit. No one showed the photographer where to take pictures and no one helped the reception run smoothly — people were lost and confused. Never going here again. Do yourself a favor and take your business elsewhere!

Attended a holiday party. The food was really good and the staff was very nice. The parking at the location can be a bit of a pain depending on the event going on but it is not too terrible. I would recommend checking this place out if you are looking for a place to have an event for a special occasion. The century house is really nice looking inside and outside is well maintained.

It was a fabulous dinner. Probably the best lobster chowder I have ever tasted. The surf and turf was cooked to perfection. I highly recommend anyone looking for a quality dinner that they try The Century House.

The General Manager was so nice, friendly, and helpful. She went out of her way so many times. The chef is the grandma to you that you want if your away from home. (Loving and always looking to feed you more). Bed nice and cozy. Loved everything about this place. Mark them on your map if your traveling thru the area.

Amazing food, ballroom. The bed room was small but the bed was amazing, softest bed iver ever slept on. Breakfast was delicious. Staff was attentive, anything I needed they found a way to provide.

The Century House was clean and the room was wonderful. The restaurant was outstanding. But what makes the stay great are the staff. I can't say enough from Monica, to Fran to Sandra at the restaurant. All were wonderful and friendly. The friendly atmosphere was with the maintenance staff, housekeepers to the breakfast chef — all made you feel welcome and special. Nicest place I stayed in! Thank you.

We got married this past weekend at The Century House, and it was absolutely amazing and picture-perfect. From our very first meeting with Phil, I knew we would be in good hands throughout the process. He remembered every little detail and even helped me order an ice sculpture two weeks before our wedding, so I could surprise my husband on the big day! He answered every email and phone call throughout our planning process, and anticipated all of our needs. Even though it rained on our big day, Phil did not let that ruin any of our plans. He quickly moved all of the decor that the florist had set up outside, including an arch decorated with ferns and orchids, into the ballroom. Every emergency that we had on that day was met with speed and efficiency — our bridal captain Melissa even sent a seamstress to our cocktail hour to fix my husband's vest! Phil, Melissa, and all of the staff at the Century House were so warm, welcoming, and helpful during the whole weekend. Our stay was amazing – the food was delicious, the rooms were comfortable, and spacious. All of our guests traveled from out of town and everyone who stayed there kept telling us how wonderful their stay was and that they will come back when they return to the Albany area – and we will too!

My wife and I would recommend the Century House in a heartbeat. From the moment we sat to the moment we left our server Nick was fantastic. Extremely personable and down to earth with everything from menu information to things to do and see around town. When we go back we would love to have him again as our server. That being said everyone there was incredibly nice and took a moment to stop by our table and make sure everything was just right. The meal was amazing and we both agreed one of the best we've had. The dining room was very comfortable and inviting and we were even given the opportunity to check the rest of the dining areas out. We will definitely be back often and recommend to all our friends as must place to try.

Ok, it’s not the newest property. But is that a detriment or the sign of a hotel with character? I believe it’s character! Friendly and helpful staff. Good site for an event, and the room rates are very reasonable. Maybe a bit more sounds heard from adjoining rooms, but mostly tolerable. Be aware the two-level hotel does not have an elevator. The restaurant is charming, with better than average tap beverages. If you are in a hurry let them know before they seat you.

The place is beautiful and clean. The breakfast is good. They need a lot of work on the front desk people. Only one of them was a nice curteous consistently. Otherwise the staff was nice and helpful.

We had our wedding yesterday at The Century House, and I wish I could rate them 10 stars! They were incredible from start to finish. Stephanie, our wedding coordinator, was out of this world attentive and accommodating (and Brittany was an excellent addition as well). Jake, the banquet manager and former student of mine, and the server staff were quick to fill waters, served the food hot and efficiently, and Myla, our personal captain, took care of everyone. The rehearsal dinner, both breakfasts and especially our wedding meal (cocktail hour) was incredibly tasty-we love food, so it was important to us to have the best meal, and you went above and beyond in every way. Thank you so much for a perfect, romantic, tasty Friday night wedding. My husband and I will recommend you many times over. Words alone are not enough to express our gratitude.

Attended a special couples event for those who had been married there. It was a great time! The food was amazing as always. And the event was as beautiful as our wedding was.

5 stars for the perfectly prepared delicious meal, and 3 stars for the service, which could certainly not be called "anticipatory. " The three of us had the Atlantic Cod, Diver Sea Scallops and the Swordfish Steak special, all wonderful, as was the Farmer's Salad. The French Onion Soup is probably the best in town. Will definitely return!

Really friendly hotel with lots of positive ideas and attitudes. Rooms are quite large and had a proper fridge and microwave as well as the usual coffee machine. Complementary hot soup on arrival as well as coffee tea etc. Restaurant has a good choice of stuff too. The complementary breakfast was much better than most places. Felt like the kind of place that will go the extra effort to make stuff work for the guests.

Nice old fashion hotel. Rooms are nice and very clean. 2 story hotel but quite big. Food tasted fine at breakfast with basic foods but I wish there was a bigger selection. Overall pretty good.

Had a much better experience with this property this time. There was a problem with a damp, musty room the last time we stayed but this time there was no problem. The rooms smelled fresh and there was no sign of dampness. The breakfast was very good. We complimented the woman who prepared the food who was gracious enough to walk around the room to ask if everything was okay. Thank you.

Was there for the annual thanksgiving buffet. It was a good time, good service, good variety for the spread and dessert. Definetly would do it again. Food was delicious. Much to choose from even if you are vegetarian.

My husband and I stayed here recently for two nights. The Century House is clean, comfortable, welcoming, and quiet. I think the decor is perfect to complement the location’s history. Topping off a great stay, we were especially impressed by the breakfast and dining room staff (special thanks to Anthony). The food was plentiful and fresh, even when we arrived as breakfast was ending. Now we look forward to returning to the Capital District for another reason — staying at the Century House.

Nice location full of old school charm. Wait staff are great, full of personality and attentive. Conference room was nice though the projector was a bit small for the room. Microphone/speaker system had some sort of weird feedback noise that was distracting.

Old fashioned hotel with older spring type mattress, room smelled like air freshener. Very good breakfast. I just like a more modern type hotel.

This is a very rustic and charming restaurant and hotel with banquet facilities. There’s ample and easy parking. Great food and a wonderful atmosphere. Enough said.

Fantastic Hotel. It was my first time in the Latham/Troy area. I didn't have high expectations, but I was wrong. The rooms, the staff, the food. All fantastic. I'm not staying anywhere else when I'm in the Albany/Troy area for Business.

Hotel that appears to have been recently renovated. Very clean, friendly staff, good breakfast. Tavern and restaurant on site. Lovely grounds as well. No elevator, so request 1st floor if that is a concern. I would definitely stay here again if I'm in the area.

Great hotel. Andrea at check in was wonderful and very helpful. Breakfast was very substantial. Good coffee. Clean pool. Wished 2 beds in the room were queens instead of doubles. Check out receptionist was excellent as well. Overall a great value for 2 adults and 2 kids.

A hidden gem. A classic old style hotel fully renovated with clean, modern rooms. Friendly, courteous staff. Nice hot and cold breakfast buffet included. Only half an hour from Saratoga Race Course.

Staying there for 5 nights for business. The hotel is nice. It's a little dated but that ads a bit of charm. Rooms are nice, clean and spacious although my room has a bit of a musty odor. Almost like spilled beer or something at some point. Not enough to complain about but noticible. Beds are really comfy which is why I chose this place over some of the others in the area. I have eaten in the restaurant twice as my schedule has been crazy and each time was a good experience. The breakfast is hot and has some nice choices. Twice out of the three days so far I have been randomly asked for my room number as I sat down to eat. I haven't seen any of the other guests being asked this question so must be I look like I am coming in off the street to steal their breakfast or something? Anyway, all in all decent place to spend a week during training, just a few little things that turn you off.

We just had our wedding at the Century House and everything went very smoothly. Stephanie and Phil the planners were amazing and extremely accommodating and helpful throughout the whole process. The wait staff were phenomenal they went above and beyond to make our day wonderful to keep our drinks filled and to make sure the food was delicious, shout out to the cooks as well. Huge thank you as well to John and Myla for being the most attentive and professional wait staff that I have ever experienced thank you for your hard work and dedication to making our night wonderful. If you want a wonderful experience for a special occasion I would definitely recommend this establishment.

Visited for a wedding reception, everything went very well. Food was excellent, staff was very friendly. There was a miscommunication between the century house staff and the couple getting married with regard to when the bar closed, which was a small damper at the end of the night. Overall was good, but they really didn't do much to appease the couple for what seemed like a large oversight on the part of the hotel.

I had some of the best buffalo wings in the region at the century house. The grilled shrimp was also fantastic. Have an excellent selection of beer and wine. I also enjoyed dessert.

We were there for a two-day conference. The meeting room we were in was very Pleasant and well lit. The food was excellent. Plus, for every meal that is sold to a guest another meal is donated. Some of the attendees stayed overnight at the attached hotel and reported very favorably. Available parking was very good.

Attended a banquet in the Saratoga room. The room was very nice and the staff were attentive and plentiful. The only negative thing was the food had room for improvement; the steaks were clearly cooked quickly as the outside was burnt. I still recommend eating here as I've been here for personal dinners and the experience was better.

Great food, great atmosphere. The wait staff were incredibly helpful and all around amazing. Unfortunately I had to leave an event earlier and when I asked for a take out box, I was told they don't allow it. I found that strange. But besides that pretty great.

I was in Albany to speak at a conference. Because I was sick the week leading up to the event, I didn't properly schedule my shuttle. The hotel's manager went above and beyond the call of duty when I called and since no staff member was available to collect me, personally ran over to the airport and picked me up in the hotel shuttle. It is a lovely hotel with a great restaurant and excellent staff, including a five star manager.

My fire department has their annual banquet here and it was excellent! The prices at the cash bar were fair, and the service staff were almost telepathic. 10/10 would attend another event there again.

Attended a wedding in the main ballroom, it was a beautiful room and the reception was fantastic. They had a large variety of hor d'oeuvre and a mashed potato bar. I would highly recommend.

Food was very sub par for the price. The service was way below satisfactory. Fiance got filet mignon which was good. My New York strip was impossible to eat and was like rubber. Waitress didn't check on us until meal was over. I informed her about my steak and was only offered free desert which I declined stating I hadn't even eatten my dinner yet. Food was either under or over seasoned. Bad food and bad service. So if you want to blow over $100 for bad food and bad service, that is my review. We were checking it out for our wedding. Which as you can guess is a huge no-no now.

Great atmosphere, service and a phenomenal chocolate mousse.

Attended a project management course here and figured I'd give the restaurant a try for valentines day. This place was great for both the course and dinner. Customer service was top notch from start to finish, everyone was extremely friendly and a pleasure to be around. Fiancé had the filet and I was very impressed with the salmon. The dessert was perfect to end the night. Cant find anything negative with the place. There was even live music. (Be careful when going south out of the parking lot, that is the only thing I can think of).

Last night my wife and I met with my cousin in our quarterly diner outing. We chose the Century House Restaurant and were 100% satisfied with our choice. To start our meal, we were presented with warm homemade bread. (excellent) The salads were unique and delicious. Our choices of main course were prime rib for the guys and fish for the ladies. The beef portions were large and done just the way we ordered them, (rare) One of the ladies ordered mahi-mahi and the other lady was served baked scrod. Both were completely satisfied with the way the fish was prepared and the portions. The dessert choices that we chose were outstanding. My serving of lemon tart was especially satisfying. It came with a topping of fresh fruit. The waiter also went beyond what is normally expected to make our experience delightful. I highly recommend this restaurant for capital area residents and anyone passing through.
