Review of Red Carpet Inn Syracuse Airport 2*

Found a syringe full of blood. Place was awful. Room was not clean. Had to slam front door the shut and bathroom door wouldn't shut at all. Found 2 unidentified pills on the floor in plain view along with a used tampon applicator. Then if that wasn't bad enough, when I went to plug my phone charger in and there was a hyperdermic needle full of blood. Took pictures of everything, including the dirty mirror which looked like it had a pile of semen on it. Called front desk. They were going to have the manager contact us. I waited 15 minutes and told them that I was still waiting to hear and they pretty much tried to blow me off. Until I told them I was calling the sheriff's department about the needle and she told me no wait for manager. I said I'll give him 15 minutes. About 10 minutes later they came down and I showed them everything and where I found each thing. He blamed the maid, blamed me for waiting to call, blamed EVERYONE but himself. Never apologized. Kept eying everything in my room and looking at me up and down. I planned on complaining when I checked out, but and after finding that needle, that was when I hit the roof, this was about 2 hours before check out. But I had the pictures I took of the used tampon applicator and the pills that are timestamped in my phone at 10 pm the night before. My son actually picked up the tampon and said what is this. And tossed it on the bed. I looked at it and said it's a used tampon applicator. Then he found the first pill. That's when I took the picture. I knew if I called then it was going to aggravate me and I didn't want to ruin my son's visit and his birthday. After demanding some type of compensation he offered me another night for half price. I told him I'd think about it. Then he picked up the items which were on a tissue and I tried to stop him telling him I wanted to make sure the needle was disposed of properly. He said he was throwing it in the dumpster. I told him I still had pictures of everything in the exact spot I found it. I spoke to my adult son about the offer and not wanting to ruin his birthday weekend and his vacation from Florida, I decided I would take his offer. And then he took back his offer and said he'd give me $20 back as a refund. This room was $67 with tax. But since my son was coming up from Florida for his birthday, the location of the hotel was within walking distance from my house, so it was convenient for me. But I was shocked at the price for a 2 star hotel. Now I was ready to choke this guy cause my son and I had made arrangements with others to meet us at the room and were going to walk across the street to Woody's. Now this guy told me that the rooms were booked. I knew it was not true cause I could of booked the room on Expedia, etc. I showed him the pictures on my phone and said what about the room we are in now. Long story short, we have one very clean room. That maid moved the furniture and had two others helping her. She said the room must of been overlooked. I said I doubt that because all the towels were cleaned and stacked. It took her 45 minutes to clean the room, with 2 men helping. She tried to tell me we had to wait in the office, my son said no, we are going to stay right here. Had I been stuck that needle, I'd be suing! Sorry for the length of this review but I wanted everyone to know, stay clear of this overpriced, outdated, dirty hotel.
